Tartine Bistro and Wine Bar in Warwick

A lovely restaurant with a nice quality menu. We were there early doors, so it was just warming up, but otherwise one to revisit.

Very unhappy. Made reservation via website for midday on New Year’s Day. But when I arrived we discovered the restaurant was closed. I had driven 120 miles to celebrate new year with my daughter. Later that evening, I had voice message saying that I had a booking for the next day but the restaurant was closed. This was wrong as I had a booking for that day. Why was I able to make a booking for a time when the restaurant was closed? Very unimpressed.

Really great food and surprisingly quiet for New Year’s Eve, which was a bonus. The staff were nice, but didn’t appreciate the announced time limit for the table prior to ordering food. However, the service was fast and the waitress/waiters were very friendly. Would eat here again.

Nice food, pretty restaurant. Order unfortunately wrong first time and lipstick on glass but quickly remedied. Would go again!

Great service, friendly and welcoming, but the food was a bit mediocre. Most of it was fine, but some of the portion sizes were quite small, and the garlic sauce on the mussels was really bad and left a horrible aftertaste, to the point where me and my partner didn't want to eat them. It just tasted of burnt garlic. We're not fussy eaters, we just can't eat something that tastes unpleasant. And some of the bread arrived in a paper bag instead of a plate, which was quite bizarre. And the wine is a bit overpriced. I wish I could score this restaurant higher, but there were some issues with the food and drink that keep my score at 3 stars.

Cheese platter and wine were excellent. The cheeses on the cheese plate were carefully selected, the crackers and bread with olive oil were fresh. It was in perfect harmony with the Cotes du rhone wine. The atmosphere of the place was also very nice. It's small, not many tables. A nice place for a romantic evening or to drink wine and chat with friends.

Entered and literally was greeted with “sorry we are full”. Er I’ve booked a table. Oh. She hadn’t realised. Was seated and left for 15 mins before anyone came over and even asked what we wanted to drink. As it took so long we had chosen food so ordered all at once. Didn’t wait long for food and it was very nice and hot. Ordered a bread basket and got given a paper bag with bread in it! Finished our meal, must have took at least 15 mins before our empty plates were took away and there was only 1 other table in there. Despite on numerous occasions both members of staff seeing we had finished Never got asked if we wanted another drink, never got asked if we wanted desserts. We had to get their attention to order desserts. Overall nice food but service was that poor that we won’t be returning. Would hate to see it busy!

I’ve seen a couple of reviews with a similar experience to ours. We attended an evening advertised as a caricature event, where we would be drawn by an artist, which did not happen. Everyone around us was either called up and drawn or visited by the artist at their table, except us. We were extremely disappointed when we realised the artist was leaving, especially when we had spoken to staff about being excited for the event when we arrived (so they were aware we were there for that specific event). Before leaving we brought up to staff our disappointment over the situation and the only response seemed to be that it was their first time hosting an event such as this, which we didn’t feel was sincere. This review is not at all a reflection on the food or drink and the customer service on the whole was pretty good. But this was a disappointing evening and a poorly planned event.

Service a bit slow, all our food and drinks came at different times - we were only a party of 3! Advertised coffee and cakes but selection was poor and looked like was all bought from Costco (lemon drizzle cake and shortbread were only choices) Of our 3 drinks one was served cold (flat white) Also don’t bring legal tender as they’ll refuse to accept it….

Great food but the service varies between great and pretentious!

We came here for an event organised by the restaurant where we were supposed to be drawn by a caricature artist, which didn't happen. The food was good but overly priced, and the service was poor. I have been to this restaurant before and the quality was better, hopefully it was just a bad night.

Our group dined here recently and unfortunately left feeling nothing but frustrated and hungry. We had booked in advance after seeing the advertisement for a caricature artist drawing your portrait as you dined which we thought would be something fun and different. Once our group was seated we asked about the caricature artist, who wasn't to be seen but was apparently upstairs resting or busy - the reason was unclear. Either way we understood but let the waiter know that when he was next available we'd like to have a drawing - this was why we had booked! We went on to order two sharing platters and a side of padron pepper, we were also inclined to order another side but was assured by the waiter that the portions were big and another side wasn't necessary. This unfortunately wasn't the case. The vegan 'sharing' platter was predominantly a serving board of salad with 2 (very) small falafel pieces, 2 small stuffed vine leaves, 2 slices of bread and a very small saucer of hummus. The Spanish 'sharing' platter (£27) was no better with equally small portions. I understand the concept of tapas but when you're paying complete meal prices, its difficult to not feel frustrated with such small portions. We made the mistake of ordering more food, this time off the tapas menu as opposed to the sharing platters, as we were all still hungry. Again, all dishes were very small packed out with salad with a high price tag. When ordering the second lot of food we asked again about the caricature artist and was advised to join a 'queue' around another table which we did after placing our second order. We was sat next to the artist /around the same table whilst he drew another 2 customers and waited for around 20 minutes for our turn but once he'd finished drawing the other customers, the artist just stood up and walked away without even acknowledging us. We were all a bit in shock about what had happened but tried to laugh about it and returned to our table (where our second order of food had been put out, without being told). The artists then packed up and walked past us to leave when another table stood up and asked him if they could have there drawing done and that they had been waiting all evening. He replied that he was going home because he was too tired. All in all, we felt somewhat lured in by a form of entertainment which we never got to experience and ended up paying an awful lot of money for a very small amount of food.

Very much enjoyed sharing the Spanish platter

Absolutely lovely lunch. Don't be put off by the limited lunchtime special menu as the picture shows its worth every penny. We had toasted Focaccia, 1 with ham goats cheese and onion relish with paprika fries and 1 with Parma ham , brie and grapes with potatas bravos. Good portions, good service and great quality.

Incredible food and lovely atmosphere. Would recommend booking in advance as quite a few people were turned away as there were no tables. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be visiting again soon.

Not the kind of person to usually write reviews but I just had to comment on the service I recieved at tartine last month - absolute amazing!! There was this lovely young man serving us, so attentive, so kind and charismatic ! We had the prawns with some other tapas bits which was very nice but would not be the same with the atmosphere and service - thank you Benjamin!

Tartine has a lovely wine and cocktail selection. The staff are friendly and very helpful with food suggestions. It has become my local go-to place not only for drinks but lunch and dinner too.

Food was nice, maybe slightly over priced. Service was terrible. Over 30 minutes for our order to be taken and sat waiting to pay the bill for 20 minutes.

Lovely little place. Had a nice herbal tea as I was driving on a date night with the wife. It was full of women - likely a wonderful place for the ladies so they can avoid the idiots/lads in town so check it out.

One of the worst experiences of customer services. Arrived to a reservation 10 mins early to then waited 40 mins to be asked a drinks order. Every other table was served before us even though they arived after, leaving us wondering what's going on. It was meant to be a special evening for the both of us but we were just felt very neglected as customers who were looking forward to trying something new that others raved about. Props to the two ladies who sat next to us and put up a fuss about us being left and unserved.

We had an amazing evening here. The food was the best Tapas we have ever had. Staff really friendly. Will definitely be back.

Lovely wine bar. Good tapas options and wines. Really liked the blue cheese croquettes. I’m a stickler for decor, wine and French bulldogs. So I was taken with the interior. The space is intimate enough that the service has to be good, and it is. I never had to wait much to order or pay.

Lovely place, excellent service. Food is good but not exceptional.

Been here once before and the service was good. Today I went with my hubby for lunch and no one else was in the restaurant. Our food came out all at different times. The chilli prawns were warm and not hot. The spicy chicken didn't taste anything like the last time. We wasn't asked if we wanted white or brown bread and just given brown. Had to remind the waitress for water. The food was OK today not great like it was on my last visit.

The owner is a weirdo (I once saw him man handle a staff member with their apron) but the rest of the staff are lovely and the food/drinks are good too.

Very cool bistro. Went for Brunch at 10:30. Bit worried when we first went in as the was a child on an iPad playing a very loud game. It was the owners who quickly turned it down. All went for pancakes and breakfast items. All delicious, lovely coffees. Highly recommended and would love to go for dinner as the decor etc is fab! 👏

Can’t fault this little tapas bar! Popped in last Saturday after my partner wore me out shopping! We had fizz and wine, three plates of tapas and a bag of bread all for £35! Fab service, piping hot food. If going later in the day you should deffo book as it gets rammed! The loos are lovely too! Thanks Tartine!

Used to absolutely love this place! But the last few times have been dissapointing. Service awful,had to ask for 3 separate things that had been forgotten on our order(very basic things)were told we had 1hr on our table and that was the only table left,yet some people that come in after us got a 2hr slot on the table that we'd requested that we were told wasn't free,they also hadn't booked?! So my friend and I were confused as you can imagine!Having been a regular here since the opening I can say it's gone down hill! Over priced and terrible service. Shall be avoiding in future which is a shame as I was here weekly at one point and recommended alot of people

Extremely expensive although some great selections. They really aren't worth the money. The spicy chicken wings must be avoided at all cost. Literally tastes boiled.

Googled tapas bars near me and this one caught my eye. Great food! Last time I had tapas was in Madrid but the tapas at Tartine was even better! The homemade lemonade is a must aswell. Waitress Capella was lovely and so friendly. Highly recommend!!

Absolutely loved it here. Fantastic food, good service and beautiful restaurant. Had the Spanish Platter and pair wine, with many starters. Padron Peppers a particular highlight. Will be back :)

Great tapas for lunch and a nice atmosphere

We visited a few weeks ago and had a great time. Food was amazing and my husband loved it too. Will definitely come again.

They were probably having an 'off day' Both foccaicia were devoid of filling. The side salad comprised unappealing leaves and half a miniscule picollo tomato (no dressing). We overheard conplaints from other diners. The decor speaks of quality and authenticity - the food sadly tells a different story.

Food is great if you're into tapas and salads. Great staff and atmosphere is lovely. Would be perfect if it had a little more ambience I.e music and warmer lights. Nothing was to much to ask for. Parking facilities are also good.

We stopped here for a hot drink one Saturday afternoon. It's a really popular, attractive place and we were lucky enough to get a table. The staff were friendly and welcoming providing a good service. The food that went by, looked delicious. A truly pleasant place to visit.

Your are on the clock to order eat and out as quickly as possible. We had 22 mins to eat our tapas and get out. The waiters constantly hovering to get u out. Don't you just the UK, repackaged poor tapas, over priced

Great French food with a good atmosphere.

Brilliant place for food and alcohol.

Granted I only had a coffee here but what a lovely little gem it is. Tartine is all things to all men. You want a morning coffee? Done. You fancy lunch? Done. You want a few glasses of wine and some tapas? Done. The decor too works perfectly. I could happily stay in here all day with all my needs fully satisfied. Apparently they even have jazz nights! Please open a branch in Godalming, we need you.

Unfortunately disappointed. The service was so rushed perhaps staff were ill but the waiters were flying around and forgetting to bring our food and dressing etc asked for. They were very pleasant but not attentive and even taking our order she was trying to deal with another order. Food really not worth the money. Salad dry, tiny portions totally underwhelmed. Would not go back despite the lovely interior. You need to get the food and service right.

Stopped here for a quick healthy falafel salad, was delicious if a little overpriced. Service was friendly, outside seating is on street (pros and cons) good for people watching.

Staff are really friendly, overall the restaurant is very different - lots to look at and very cosy. Food was nice and offered a good selection. Only fault is that it seems way too small, tables too close together and we had to move because we couldn’t hear ourselves over the loud drunk table next to us.

Lovely wine bar located in a beautiful location of Lemington Spa. Great place to people watch and enjoy a relaxing glass of wine or even a general latte and dessert. Food in general looks delicious and staff are friendly. Reasonable prices and 2 minute walk from Cark Park. Inside is quirky and clean, but seating outside also available to enjoy the beautiful weather. Highly recommended a visit 👍🏽

However, we were plagued with poor and inattentive service, we complained and the owner waved his hand in my partners face 'shooing' her away and telling her to sit down and wait for her food (90 mins after ordering). We decided to stick it out so as not to ruin our evening and were rewarded with a free bottle of prosecco as an apology. It's a shame, the food is great but the owners (seemingly a couple that also work on frontline) appear to be personally affronted by anyone who has a problem with the service. This really lets the place down, because the food and atmos are really on-point. The apology was appreciated, but after literally hours of waiting for our food and slew of attitude and hostility - we felt that's the least we were owed. When my partner approached management for an explanation, the waitress told the owner "oh, she's after a discount". This is purely our opinion, and seems to be contrary to many positive reviews - but I would suggest that the feisty owners should pay more attention to customer satisfaction in the future, recognise that they work in the hospitality trade and receive complaints calmly. We won't be back, but it's probably worth checking out just to see if the owner is brave enough to wave his hand in your wife's face if she politely reports a complaint. We decided to get brunch/lunch menu in which we got wraps each. The chicken was dry and old and my partners wasn't great either especially for the amount you paid. Drinks were great though. Food upset my stomach so won't be going back.

What a fabulous place to eat we had a lovely selection of tapas to share and we thought they were delicious as did our 2 young children. The staff were very friendly and attentive too we would highly recommend this place to eat we will be back if we are ever in the area again in the future.

Went here for brunch, despite Covid measures being alledgely in place this was not true. The baby high chair was quite frankly disgusting. It was dirty and covered in food particles. It had clearly not been cleaned, probably for some time.

Lovely venue, sat outside to eat. I had a croquet madame which was deconstructed, which was a surprise when I saw it but it was delicious. Would definitely return.

Located near the centre of town this tapas style bistro offers some very different dishes . The food is very nice and the service friendly . Very reasonable prices.

Beautiful bistro with fantastic service! We went on a Monday night so it was quiet, we ordered a round of cocktails all of which were delicious. The mussels truly are incredible. The portions are also a great size. Will be recommending Tartine to friends and will be back soon

Great food good spot and relaxed atmosphere

Quite a varied menu and we took a stab at different items all of which were simply amazing. The staff were very pleasant and the atmosphere complimented the food quite well.

The best tapas! This place never disappoints and will always be a firm favourite of mine to visit. All of the food is incredible, such a great place for a cosy, romantic meal but also a good meeting place with friends to have a sharing meal. Always great service.

We have been here twice now and each time the food was absolutely fab. We had the Greek platter to share for 2 and the potato bravas which are to die for. Disappointed at the service both times. This time the poor lady seemed to be the only one serving and as the place was busy we never saw her again. The meal was brought by a gentleman who also a lot later took the plates away. Disappointed as when the plates were taken away he asked us if the meal was good but never asked us if we wanted dessert or coffee (which i would have loved) . Seeing as the food is so good and quite busy maybe more staff. But will still come back to give it another go as the food is so good.

I love this place, the food is absolutely amazing this is only outshone by the absolutely brilliant staff. Guler whose name literally means smiley face or rose I think, and I cannot think of anything more suited. She makes you feel so special from the moment you arrive. The style of the place is so gorgeous and classic. I love everything about this place.

Decided to try Tartine on a Saturday night after seeing it on Instagram.When we got there we were placed upstairs which was quiet and you can easy be forgotten about.We ordered loads of different dishes to try which all looked OK when they arrive. The food wasn't very hot and after tasting realised there was nothing Spanish about the dishes.. Ordered a feta and mint salad which they threw mint sauce all over, everyone knows this only belongs on a lamb roast dinner. Wont recommend or return

We had a wonderful time at Tartine. The food was tasty as always! I particularly recommend the patatas bravas- perfect ratio of tomato and alioli. The ingredients all seemed fresh and they were accomodating to my severe nut allergy. Looking forward to my next visit!

My mum and I were on a one day stay in leamington and walked past here earlier in the day and thought it looked really charming and nice. We decided to pop back there later in the day instead of going to a chain restaurant/pub for a drink to support a local independent. Upon arrival at around 4:30/5 we asked for a table for 2, there were only 2 other guests in the restaurant so we did not think it would be a problem considering we would probably only be an hour maximum. We were asked if we had booked, we had not and the waitress walked away and came back seeming a little rude and said we could only be there for a short period of time- this was fine with us. We ordered our drinks, good thing we only wanted the one drink as no one came near our table for us to be able to ask for another which is a shame as we’d have loved to have supported a small business more. I then had to go and request the bill as again no one had come by our table. Upon going to get the bill, it seemed all of the staff were at the back of the restaurant chatting, which is surprising as we were made to feel like we were unwelcome as they were going to be too busy to squeeze us in for a drink. I get it, businesses would probably like customers to buy food too, but surely during this pandemic any customers helping the business would be greatly appreciated.
