Tartine Bistro and Wine Bar in Warwick

Visited for lunch, the restaurant was not busy. One of my party cannot eat dairy. The menu had DF items marked on the menu but the waiter was unable to answer our questions. When we asked for dips on the side he said, on several occasions, that the chef was busy and he didn’t want to make him angry so he would do what he could. One dish didn’t arrive and he had to ask for it again. When I got home I realised another of our dishes did not even turn up. The food was mediocre and the service, re knowledge of the menu and helpfulness, was poor. I have been to Tartine many times and always had great food and service. I am not sure whether I will return.

Nice place. I treated my son and daughter to lunch here. The food is lovely and they do nice coffee. I love the decor. it's just a nice place for a relaxing lunch and catch up

The cuisine here reminds me of that at home, in the Occitan countryside. This is real French cuisine, very delicious and well prepared.

Nice setting, not too expensive compared to other cafes in Leamington. Good value for money, tasty food and nice staff.

Came for dinner with friends as we love tapas / sharing food. The food was a massive disappointment. It was completely bland, the calamari was awful (and i’m assuming cooked from frozen) . We got a ‘bread platter’ which was a tiny loaf of ciabatta and 4 tablespoons of dip that they charged over £13 for. The waiter started clearing while people were still picking at the food and took my friend’s glass that she hadn't finished drinking. Its such a shame as i’ve had lovely meals there in the past, but wont be returning in a hurry

We have been coming to Tartine for a number of years and it has never failed to deliver! We’ve been in larger groups, family groups and most recently just as a couple. The food is always amazing. The service is always good and attentive. The atmosphere is always buzzing. Tartine remains one of my favourite restaurants in Leamington.

Food was nice but service was odd, much confusion over the lunch menu (2 of 3 servers didn't know about it), then confusion over the contents of dishes and finally the price also.

I have been several times before but, disappointingly, the portions are getting smaller and smaller with prices being the same or higher. 4 meatballs used to be 6, patatas bravas much smaller and calamari embarrassingly small portion. Nice place but won’t be going back

Went there with my family, we had some sharing platters which were delicious. Great quality and portion sizes. Friendly and welcoming staff, nice ambiance and atmosphere, will definitely be dining here again!

Love the vibe in this place and the food is always excellent. Great for friends, family and also for client meetings in the room upstairs. Always full on a weekend so definitely book!

Okay food (nice omelette and fairly lacklustre coffee). We hated the whining covers that were piped in (Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time ruined!) I asked if there was anywhere without speakers - nope! And no effort to turn it down either.

Did not have any food, but enjoyed a flat white coffee. It was delicious.

First time here. Great cozy little restaurant, it was busy and a great atmosphere. Stage were very friendly, service was very good. The meatballs had a great taste but a little dry, sauce was delicious. Spicy prawns were great, cooked really well, sauce was great and good portion size Garlic bread was great, mild taste. Nice but I would have liked a touch more garlic The mussels we didn’t enjoy, very gritty and several unopened ones. The sauce however was great and the bread that accompanied it was superb! Thick and fluffy. Really good.

What a charming and delightful place to sit and watch the world go by while soaking up the fantastic ambiance! Loving the frames on the ceiling and bottles adding character to the decor. So glad I stumbled upon this lovely spot, I shall definitely return! Staff are incredibly polite. 10/10 experience!

Great food, reasonably priced for lunch and the service was great!

A bit out of the busy area and a lovely place to stop for a glass of wine or three. I sat outside at a table in the sidewalk and just relaxed over a good wine list. Bonus, there’s a local pub across the street that provides additional entertainment, at a distance. This place feels like a place locals go as well.

Overall good with a couple of criticisms.. Bad points first, 1. we were on a bit of a time scale and the waitress took an age to come and get the order ( even though we were clearly waiting) , this is as much our fault as theirs as we probably should have said we were in a bit of a rush. 2. For the price I would have expected slightly larger portions. However... The setting is lovely.. The staff were friendly and the food was very tasty ( and whilst I think there should have been more for the price, we had the vegan platter, I am also a bit chunky so smaller portions hell the waist 🤣) .. The wine was crisp and tasty and the beer was chilled.. The rest of the menu looked good for unrestricted diets and I would recommend a visit.

Lovely place with lots of sharing plate options and good wine. Grilled octopus is a must to try.

We had dinner on Monday and it is quite silent and relaxing. The food is delicious and quick.

Wouldn’t rush back for the food. The salt and pepper squid was just plain calamari with a bit of aioli and paprika - nothing remotely salt and pepper about it. The meatballs were dry and the crab claws were kind of saved by the sweet chilli sauce. Atmosphere is lovely and the service is fine, shame the food needs a bit of work.

My Waitress was amazing she was really lovely and helpful. I think her name was Sophie or Sophia however amazing. Will definitely visit again

While the service was a bit slow, the overall experience was pleasant. The atmosphere was cozy, the food was appetizing and the staff was friendly. I appreciate the attention to detail and would definitely return.

A lovely restaurant with a nice quality menu. We were there early doors, so it was just warming up, but otherwise one to revisit.

The food is delicious, the service is flawless and the decor and atmosphere are lovely too. My only qualm is if you’re sat at the front of the restaurant, the door opening really shows off the January weather. Absolutely freeeezing. This however didn’t take away from the positives.

Very unhappy. Made reservation via website for midday on New Year’s Day. But when I arrived we discovered the restaurant was closed. I had driven 120 miles to celebrate new year with my daughter. Later that evening, I had voice message saying that I had a booking for the next day but the restaurant was closed. This was wrong as I had a booking for that day. Why was I able to make a booking for a time when the restaurant was closed? Very unimpressed.

Really great food and surprisingly quiet for New Year’s Eve, which was a bonus. The staff were nice, but didn’t appreciate the announced time limit for the table prior to ordering food. However, the service was fast and the waitress/waiters were very friendly. Would eat here again.

Nice food, pretty restaurant. Order unfortunately wrong first time and lipstick on glass but quickly remedied. Would go again!

Lovely staff and super dog friendly. Great menu choice and the quality of the food was very good indeed. An absolute default choice when in town in the future and very highly recommended indeed.

We went for dinner on Tuesday evening to celebrate our anniversary and I cannot fault any part of our night. We'd ordered quite a range of the hot tapas and each of the different dishes were delicious, fresh and hot. Tartine had been recommended to us by a number of friends, all who spoke very highly of it. I admit I was a little bit worried after seeing some of the negative reviews on here, however my worries were completely unnecessary as our dinner was delicious! The service was excellent and although there weren't many people in there (which for a Tuesday night is quite understandable) there was still a lovely cosy atmosphere as we were seated by the main window and were just able to relax and enjoy our night. I would, and have already done so, highly recommend Tartine for anyone who wants to find somewhere local, independent and delicious!

Overall it was an average experience, upon arrival we were told to go upstairs our table is there, upstairs was not ready, it was cold with no music which they struggled to put on at first, the room was ok but the 2 tables are to big for that room, service was ok with different staff members coming over to us, food we went for the tapas selection, 7 dishes the food was good, to much garlic in the bruschetta but overall food was tasty. We will give it another go but will request downstairs next time as this is where the atmosphere is. Thank you

Great service, friendly and welcoming, but the food was a bit mediocre. Most of it was fine, but some of the portion sizes were quite small, and the garlic sauce on the mussels was really bad and left a horrible aftertaste, to the point where me and my partner didn't want to eat them. It just tasted of burnt garlic. We're not fussy eaters, we just can't eat something that tastes unpleasant. And some of the bread arrived in a paper bag instead of a plate, which was quite bizarre. And the wine is a bit overpriced. I wish I could score this restaurant higher, but there were some issues with the food and drink that keep my score at 3 stars.

Cheese platter and wine were excellent. The cheeses on the cheese plate were carefully selected, the crackers and bread with olive oil were fresh. It was in perfect harmony with the Cotes du rhone wine. The atmosphere of the place was also very nice. It's small, not many tables. A nice place for a romantic evening or to drink wine and chat with friends.

Entered and literally was greeted with “sorry we are full”. Er I’ve booked a table. Oh. She hadn’t realised. Was seated and left for 15 mins before anyone came over and even asked what we wanted to drink. As it took so long we had chosen food so ordered all at once. Didn’t wait long for food and it was very nice and hot. Ordered a bread basket and got given a paper bag with bread in it! Finished our meal, must have took at least 15 mins before our empty plates were took away and there was only 1 other table in there. Despite on numerous occasions both members of staff seeing we had finished Never got asked if we wanted another drink, never got asked if we wanted desserts. We had to get their attention to order desserts. Overall nice food but service was that poor that we won’t be returning. Would hate to see it busy!

I’ve seen a couple of reviews with a similar experience to ours. We attended an evening advertised as a caricature event, where we would be drawn by an artist, which did not happen. Everyone around us was either called up and drawn or visited by the artist at their table, except us. We were extremely disappointed when we realised the artist was leaving, especially when we had spoken to staff about being excited for the event when we arrived (so they were aware we were there for that specific event). Before leaving we brought up to staff our disappointment over the situation and the only response seemed to be that it was their first time hosting an event such as this, which we didn’t feel was sincere. This review is not at all a reflection on the food or drink and the customer service on the whole was pretty good. But this was a disappointing evening and a poorly planned event.

Service a bit slow, all our food and drinks came at different times - we were only a party of 3! Advertised coffee and cakes but selection was poor and looked like was all bought from Costco (lemon drizzle cake and shortbread were only choices) Of our 3 drinks one was served cold (flat white) Also don’t bring legal tender as they’ll refuse to accept it….

Disappointing. Ridiculously overpriced mezze board with some gone off lettuce to top it off. Poor service. Not worth it.

Great food but the service varies between great and pretentious!

Not much to say on the positive side unfortunately. Poor service, mediocre food, price of food more in the restaurant than on the website, so that needs updating and there were items on the bill we didn’t have. Not an experience we will be rushing to repeat.

Our group dined here recently and unfortunately left feeling nothing but frustrated and hungry. We had booked in advance after seeing the advertisement for a caricature artist drawing your portrait as you dined which we thought would be something fun and different. Once our group was seated we asked about the caricature artist, who wasn't to be seen but was apparently upstairs resting or busy - the reason was unclear. Either way we understood but let the waiter know that when he was next available we'd like to have a drawing - this was why we had booked! We went on to order two sharing platters and a side of padron pepper, we were also inclined to order another side but was assured by the waiter that the portions were big and another side wasn't necessary. This unfortunately wasn't the case. The vegan 'sharing' platter was predominantly a serving board of salad with 2 (very) small falafel pieces, 2 small stuffed vine leaves, 2 slices of bread and a very small saucer of hummus. The Spanish 'sharing' platter (£27) was no better with equally small portions. I understand the concept of tapas but when you're paying complete meal prices, its difficult to not feel frustrated with such small portions. We made the mistake of ordering more food, this time off the tapas menu as opposed to the sharing platters, as we were all still hungry. Again, all dishes were very small packed out with salad with a high price tag. When ordering the second lot of food we asked again about the caricature artist and was advised to join a 'queue' around another table which we did after placing our second order. We was sat next to the artist /around the same table whilst he drew another 2 customers and waited for around 20 minutes for our turn but once he'd finished drawing the other customers, the artist just stood up and walked away without even acknowledging us. We were all a bit in shock about what had happened but tried to laugh about it and returned to our table (where our second order of food had been put out, without being told). The artists then packed up and walked past us to leave when another table stood up and asked him if they could have there drawing done and that they had been waiting all evening. He replied that he was going home because he was too tired. All in all, we felt somewhat lured in by a form of entertainment which we never got to experience and ended up paying an awful lot of money for a very small amount of food.

We came here for an event organised by the restaurant where we were supposed to be drawn by a caricature artist, which didn't happen. The food was good but overly priced, and the service was poor. I have been to this restaurant before and the quality was better, hopefully it was just a bad night.

The food here was delicious however the service was dreadful. Through the evening we were served by 4 different people and although all were really friendly the service was a shambles. This appears to be a common theme as the table next to us experienced the same. Took forever for us to get another drink and it was bought over in the tiniest glass with no ice etc. Then we were left for well over half an hour after saying we would like to order dessert. In the end we just got up and paid at the bar as we had been in there for 2 hours at this point, most of it spent sat around waiting trying to catch someone’s attention. Then there were incorrect items added to the bill etc that we hadn’t ordered. Just a bit stressful for what should have been a nice relaxing evening. Shame because the food was beautiful but I wouldn’t come back due to how bad the service was.

Started well with a friendly welcome at the bar but after waiting over half an hour for a glass of wine and pint of beer we were quite fed up. Chased up several times before they finally arrived.

Took the old girl here as she’d been complaining about lack of romance! Was a lovely spot of tapas and good selection of wines! Service was decent and the quality of the food was pucka! Plus I got some when I got home! Boom!

id booked a table for lunch with one of my friends, after reading some not so good reviews i wasn't sure what to expect, but we had a lovely lunch and great service at tartine! On arrival got a warm welcome from the gentleman behind the bar, he showed me to the table id booked. Lovely table in the window. The menu had lots to choose from and we both opted for a tartine but we shared them. Each tartine came with a small side salad and both of us cleared our plates! we didn't have dessert but my friend had a latte and i had one of their non alcoholic cocktails which was nice and refreshing as it was a hot day We concluded we'd definitely return and we thought the food and service was excellent.

We were a little hesitant to come here after seeing a few poor reviews. We decided to try it & we are glad we did. We found that the food came out very quickly after ordering, which is good, but maybe a little too quickly. We had only ordered 5 minutes before. The food was delicious & fresh and the portion sizes were decent. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. We would come here again.

Poor service, items that we ordered didn’t arrive and not once did anyone come and ask if the meal was ok. We paid the bill politely but when I mentioned that some items hadn’t arrived the waitress simply walked away. Strange vibe and wouldn’t go back. I have been there plenty of times before btw, but I’ll go elsewhere as it wasn’t welcoming, the food borderline ok and service poor. Can think of better ways to spend a Saturday night!

Very much enjoyed sharing the Spanish platter

I found this place a bit disappointing and very expensive for the amount of food. We ordered the mixed platter, which came without 3 of the items. When we said something, the manager took £4 off the total, but the individual items that were missed off the platter started at £5.80 on the menu!! Really, just a rip-off and one of their waiters desperately needs some customer service training. Everything was a proper chore to him! Food we actually received was quite nice though.

Lovely evening meal, friendly and well paced service and a great choice of tapas very well presented and which tasted even better. Fab cocktails too and a nice ambience. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely lovely lunch. Don't be put off by the limited lunchtime special menu as the picture shows its worth every penny. We had toasted Focaccia, 1 with ham goats cheese and onion relish with paprika fries and 1 with Parma ham , brie and grapes with potatas bravos. Good portions, good service and great quality.

Incredible food and lovely atmosphere. Would recommend booking in advance as quite a few people were turned away as there were no tables. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be visiting again soon.

Not the kind of person to usually write reviews but I just had to comment on the service I recieved at tartine last month - absolute amazing!! There was this lovely young man serving us, so attentive, so kind and charismatic ! We had the prawns with some other tapas bits which was very nice but would not be the same with the atmosphere and service - thank you Benjamin!

Tartine has a lovely wine and cocktail selection. The staff are friendly and very helpful with food suggestions. It has become my local go-to place not only for drinks but lunch and dinner too.

Food was nice, maybe slightly over priced. Service was terrible. Over 30 minutes for our order to be taken and sat waiting to pay the bill for 20 minutes.

Lovely little place. Had a nice herbal tea as I was driving on a date night with the wife. It was full of women - likely a wonderful place for the ladies so they can avoid the idiots/lads in town so check it out.

One of the worst experiences of customer services. Arrived to a reservation 10 mins early to then waited 40 mins to be asked a drinks order. Every other table was served before us even though they arived after, leaving us wondering what's going on. It was meant to be a special evening for the both of us but we were just felt very neglected as customers who were looking forward to trying something new that others raved about. Props to the two ladies who sat next to us and put up a fuss about us being left and unserved.

We had an amazing evening here. The food was the best Tapas we have ever had. Staff really friendly. Will definitely be back.

Lovely wine bar. Good tapas options and wines. Really liked the blue cheese croquettes. I’m a stickler for decor, wine and French bulldogs. So I was taken with the interior. The space is intimate enough that the service has to be good, and it is. I never had to wait much to order or pay.

Lovely place, excellent service. Food is good but not exceptional.

Been here once before and the service was good. Today I went with my hubby for lunch and no one else was in the restaurant. Our food came out all at different times. The chilli prawns were warm and not hot. The spicy chicken didn't taste anything like the last time. We wasn't asked if we wanted white or brown bread and just given brown. Had to remind the waitress for water. The food was OK today not great like it was on my last visit.

The owner is a weirdo (I once saw him man handle a staff member with their apron) but the rest of the staff are lovely and the food/drinks are good too.

Very cool bistro. Went for Brunch at 10:30. Bit worried when we first went in as the was a child on an iPad playing a very loud game. It was the owners who quickly turned it down. All went for pancakes and breakfast items. All delicious, lovely coffees. Highly recommended and would love to go for dinner as the decor etc is fab! 👏

Can’t fault this little tapas bar! Popped in last Saturday after my partner wore me out shopping! We had fizz and wine, three plates of tapas and a bag of bread all for £35! Fab service, piping hot food. If going later in the day you should deffo book as it gets rammed! The loos are lovely too! Thanks Tartine!

Used to absolutely love this place! But the last few times have been dissapointing. Service awful,had to ask for 3 separate things that had been forgotten on our order(very basic things)were told we had 1hr on our table and that was the only table left,yet some people that come in after us got a 2hr slot on the table that we'd requested that we were told wasn't free,they also hadn't booked?! So my friend and I were confused as you can imagine!Having been a regular here since the opening I can say it's gone down hill! Over priced and terrible service. Shall be avoiding in future which is a shame as I was here weekly at one point and recommended alot of people

Googled tapas bars near me and this one caught my eye. Great food! Last time I had tapas was in Madrid but the tapas at Tartine was even better! The homemade lemonade is a must aswell. Waitress Capella was lovely and so friendly. Highly recommend!!

Absolutely loved it here. Fantastic food, good service and beautiful restaurant. Had the Spanish Platter and pair wine, with many starters. Padron Peppers a particular highlight. Will be back :)

We visited a few weeks ago and had a great time. Food was amazing and my husband loved it too. Will definitely come again.

They were probably having an 'off day' Both foccaicia were devoid of filling. The side salad comprised unappealing leaves and half a miniscule picollo tomato (no dressing). We overheard conplaints from other diners. The decor speaks of quality and authenticity - the food sadly tells a different story.
