Catalan in Warwick

Came for dinner and went for the standard tapas. It’s was I think a 9 courser !! Food was really good and the service was excellent in terms of speed and the way they describe exactly what was on each plate. The only tiny thing that could have been better was the wine list. It was a bit limited

Visited here several times and raved about how food it was to a few friends. We decided to visit for a meal together based on my recommendations. On arrival we visited Bar Catalan for a glass of wine and experienced service so unprofessional we left the establishment for another restaurant (Robbie's - Amazing!). We were given a wine with some soft water but the soda water was stagnant. When we spoke to bar staff about it they tried it and agreed it tasted off and agreed to replace our wine with a other bottle of wine. No problems, mistakes happen. On koving to the restaurant the manager that had served us drinks followed us through and told us they were fully booked. We had already booked a table so were not worried. He then said he didn't want to serve us as if we were going to complain about the drinks we would probably complain about the food too. At this point I was shocked by his attitude, and suggested that we should all leave if this is the way they treated people. However a couple of our group tried to convince him to let us stay for some reason, at this point the lost his mind and told us to take our wine and leave. Needless to say he gave us a refund on the wine, and then we left for an amazing meal at Robbie's. Strange, arrogant place.

If you like turning up to a dinner reservation to find the establishment closed with no call, note outside or message on their social media then I can't recommend Bar Catalan highly enough.The experience of walking around Warwick in the rain trying to find somewhere else to eat isn't something I'd have thought of on my own. If similar care and attention is shown to the food then maybe it's for the best that we didn't eat there...

Had a booking to dine in catalan restaurant but on the day arriving at the door the restaurant was closed so we asked a neighbor he Told us it is shut for good it is a shame they had good reputation instead we went to jambavan Indian restaurant not to far we had a lovely meal

A late social addition to our social diary and a few drinks and food with my partner's sister and husband.A busy time in Warwick during the folk festival and my first time in Warwick and this restraunt An informed menu give us a heads up on suggested tapas dishes to order and order placed we had a reasonable wait til the food arrived..Decent quality all seemed to go quickly A menu with a lot of variety a nice couples space even with the festival traffic.

I will make this very brief as the experience was extraordinary disappointing. We ordered the mixed cold plate and the only thing Spanish were four slices of chorizo. What was supposed to be cured ham was just some cheap ham and the other thing was a salami that we’ve eaten once in a german restaurant. Then the calamari rings had a diameter of 2 cm, I have never seen nor eaten such a poor quality of food. Absolutely disgraceful for a restaurant that is supposed to serve tapas. This is nowhere near anything that one can call tapas. The staff was pretty unprofessional, the restaurant empty and we’ve waited a lot to get what they call tapas. I usually don’t write these kind of reviews as fortunately we don’t eat in such establishments. Avoid this tasteless, utterly unprofessional and expensive restaurant judging by the quality of food. I am extremely disappointed.

We’d booked the meal for 7.15. Only two tables in large restaurant area seated on our arrival. Offered us table under large overhead stairwell tucked away. Refused. Only other table offered by entrance, no view at all of restaurant, next to table for two and table for ten. Over evening, several couples arrived, unbooked, they refused table by us, so shown to main restaurant. So disappointed. Felt that as we are around 70 years of age, they didn’t want us “on show”. We advised on arrival that we hadn’t been there before (although our son had been and recommended it to us). No one offered us any help. However food was great, but the two of us sitting detached from all the ambience and character of the restaurant was so disappointing. After food served, no one asked whether we were okay. Staff seemed untrained and inexperienced.

I visited here a few years ago and it was lovely. Unfortunately this recent visit was not so. A friend (Spanish) and I went here on a Wednesday evening. We had booked for 6pm. We were greeted well and shown to our table. We were the only ones in there until around 7. The service was slow! We chose 3 tapas dishes each which were disappointing I had potatoes bravas which wasn’t like what you had in Spain it was like toast potatoes with a drizzle of tomato sauce. The music being played in the bar area wasn’t Spanish and although the website said all staff spoke Spanish they didn’t. At 7 a group of around 8 people were put on the table next to us they were doing a Spanish course and very noisy the restaurant was empty so they could have been seated anywhere. It was not as nice as last time I visited and I won’t be rushing back which is a shame as I love Spanish food.

The hospitality was a little bit slow, especially when we were given the bill and were ready to pay.The food was OK, the Chorizo y marcilla heuvos and patatas bravos mixto were beautiful! But we perhaps chose badly with other dishes. We would probably try elsewhere in town before returning.

We took 4 OAP's that have all spent years living in Spain and therefore reckon that they know a thing or two about tapas and I'm pleased to confirm that they were all impressed with everything that was put in front of them, as were we. The restaurant is nicely appointed, the staff were good and managed to produce 18 separate dishes all in short order and all correct. I would certainly go again.

The selection of dishes was very good, the restaurant recommended five dishes per couple and they were right. We were there with friend so chose ten dishes, the problem was deciding which ones not to have. There was a reasonable selection of wines and beers. The service was very attentive and helpful and overall a very enjoyable experience.

Sometimes 5 review options are not enough. I'd vote this 4/6. Fine but I did not find the Party tapas particularly amazing. Don't get me wrong not bad at all and tasty but perhaps not my thing although I do prefer a Greek Meze. Staff were good Sangria a bit weak but some good UK beer rather than the insipid Spanish stuff but the serve it TOO COLD.

Great value for money and exceptionally well cooked food. Tasty flavoursome with plenty of choice from the TAPAS menu. Staff incredibly helpful. The only downside is parking nearby. Warwick is a joke and regulates its parking to deter business and tourism. The Town planner are obvious W---ERS!!!

A delightful find for a quick bite in Warwick last night. Welcoming staff and warm restaurant on a cold night. Good selection of quality tapas and excellent house red!

A quick wander along Warwick’s narrow streets soon reveals a broad variety of cuisines and it’s easy to feel spoilt for choice.

Great for pre meal drinks Service is friendly Cosy atmosphere and very much looks like a local spot but extremely friendly!

This is a lovely little restaurant and bar, what makes it outstanding are the friendly attentive staff. Six of us went on Friday for the early evening two course dinner which at less than £12 was brilliant value. The food was hot and tasty (my pet hate is lukewarm food), it's not an extensive menu but everyone found something they liked and the service was brilliant. At around 9 we went through to the tiny bar and staff helped us find seats and brought our drinks round from the restaurant. We loved the band "Warren and the Magpies" who played a range of music bluegrass style. A great evening was had by all, nice food, lovely staff, great ambience and music, what's not to like, we will definitely visit again.

Had a fantastic evening at Catalan, what primarily for the band...The Peas, always great entertainment, but the night was made with a terrific venue and friendly atmosphere. More than that we enjoyed wonderfully tasty tapas dishes, well beyond our expectations. All 5 dishes were excellent. We will be back

My husband and I decided to eat here for our anniversary and we wanted to stay and see the band guilty pleasure. We were led to believe the band were on at 8.30pm! Which the waiter also thought! After eating we went to the bar, sat next to the tv showing the rugby(loudly).when we asked about the band...the barman told us they were on after the rugby, so at least 9.45pm. Bad advertising and bad management as the staff had differing opinions as to what was going on!!

We visited on Saturday night We were welcome with a smile by our waiter who was friendly and attentive .We had a variety of meals and nobody was disappointed it was very reasonably price and would highly recommend and will be returning sometime soon.

Tapas and/ or fish and meat dishes. Reasonable prices, good wine list. Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff. One of the better restaurants in Warwick. Nice evening out.

This was our second visit. Our first was a Christmas themed meal last December. That meal was great but I never got around to reviewing it. That is no reflection on the meal or the restaurant.

Had family over from Spain that were staying in Warwick overnight didn't have long to try and find somewhere to accommodate us all thankfully got a call back to advise that although extremely busy they could seat us as long as we vacated the table by 8pm. WOW what a great place. We all shared tapas, delicious, our Spanish family were so impressed. After we ate went to the bar area, great decor, funky and stylish.

Hired the entire restaurant for my 50th Birthday party and it was absolutely perfect! The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. Perfect venue for a celebration for about 100-120 people.

My mum and I arrived purely by chance. And we were very pleased with our visit. I am gluten free and it was very easy to ready the menu with regards to what I could pick from the menu as everything was clearly marked. We chose to drink a jug of sangria between us which was yummy and then ordered lots of tapas. It was all beautiful not only in taste but in presentation. The restaurant was full and the atmosphere was buzzing. Our star dish was the whole octopus tentacle.

The Catalan is a smallish friendly restaurant in the centre of Warwick. It specialises in excellent tapas, but does have an a la carte menu. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is lively. In warmer weather there is an attractive outside courtyard, and there are a few tables on the High Street, but they are better for drinks rather than food.

We went on a Thursday evening, for some reason we had the restaurant to ourselves. Several reservations had cancelled, but it was their loss. The tapas selection and quality is good. Especially the pan fried octopus which is was excellent. We have had octopus in several restaurants and several countries this was amongst the best. Despite being the only ones in the restaurant service was good and not over bearing and the quality of the food was very good. Had been a few years ago and will not leave it as long for the next visit.

Great restaurant, fantastic atmosphere, lovely food, amazing bar staff, live music just made the atmosphere perfect!

Came here with group of girl friends ...wow it was gorgeous. We ordered quite a lot of dishes but we still ate it all. Service was a good pace and the waiters were great at dealing with allergens. Lovely place but it is pricey, but you pay for what you get ...good quality food. I wil be back!

...........expensive. Booking online available. Large bar area. Outside area. On arrival directed to table then waited a while for drinks order to be taken. Drinks expensive. Menu ok but not very extensive. We had the tapas selection for four which attracts a 10% service charge. Portions very small when sharing between four. The second wave of tapas was even smaller than the first. None of us left feeling as though we had eaten a decent sized meal, despite trying to fill it out with additional bread. Had to ask for a clean plate between courses. Churros pudding was also not worth the additional £4 per head. Averaged £40 per head but left without feeling content. Wouldn't visit again

Great atmosphere, tasty food, especially their paella. Good outdoor space, check out their fab music nights too!

Had the misfortune to park near this restaurant and be blocked in by their branded Smart Car. Called the restaurant to ask why they think it's ok to park like this (3ft spare in front of them) a hairs breadth away from my car. The guys attitude stank! If that's how much they care about their brand, I can't imange the customer service or food is any good either! Anti-social behaviour, not serving the community they live and work in.

Visited Warwick for the first time and noticed the Catalan restaurant as soon as we parked up in the local town centre.Checked a few other menus in local restaurants before finally eating at Catalan.

The food at Catalan is varied and the tapas is lovely I went early as I had not booked and they fill up early. There is also a separate bar

After leaving a restaurant in Warwick due to the rude manager and lack of service and atmosphere, we decided to try here.....best decision ever!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our tapas here. Lively , full restaurant yet service was prompt & food fresh & tasty . Fab prawns & garlic, patats bravas, meatballs, & pulled pork (my favourite) Bill for 2 with drinks £60- good value

We came here because we loved the management response to a previous bad review. Very glad we did. Lovely food with a good selection of tapas not just a handful of dishes. The calamari was delicious as were the ham croquettes. A reasonable cocktail selection too, and a bar next door for a drink before or after you eat with a good beer selection as well. Definitely don’t listen to those one or two bad reviews, this is a great little restaurant.

We wandered past this place a few times before choosing it as a lunch venue.

If you know your tapas then you will appreciate the varied options and the quality of the food served. A very good atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. If you go to Warwick then make the effort.

During an evening stroll around Warwick, during the surprise hot spell, we found this lovely restaurant. They managed to squeeze us in, as we hadn't booked. We were seated in the outside area, which was ideal. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was served promptly. It was delicious and fresh. We had a selection and I think my favourite was the paella. Will return I'm sure.

As my pseudonym suggests, Spanish restaurants are always worth a visit, a reasonable selection of pescado, carne y verduras Tapas were on offer, and I certainly enjoyed my 3 dishes, one from a each section, that was sufficient with the complimentary bread to fill me up, around £18 which was decent value.

A last minute decision to pop out for dinner with husband and daughter after a long week. Luckily we got a table. My 3rd visit and the food was as excellent as ever. 2 of us are avoiding carbs at the moment but that didn’t restrict us at all. Each dish seemed more delicious than the last. Albondigas, skewers, beef, veg tapas all perfect. Wine choices are good too, as are cocktails. And really pleasant, attentive staff. Would highly recommend.

A great little bar with extremely good tapas. There were 4 of us and we ordered the house mixed tapas for 4. Plenty of food. Beer and wine good. Service good. Price reasonable.

Living in Warwick you get used to the great and varied cuisine cooked to order by amazing chefs.

Stopped in with my wife for a nice (and rare!) date night. The service was good and the dishes quite varied and flavourful. Perhaps a little overpriced hence not a 5*

Went to Warwick whilst on business trip with a 3 of the other lads. Warwick is a lovely part of the world and well worth a visit. If you do, and you like Tapas, then try Catalan. The waiter was friendly and professional. The beer was good....Spitfire on draught! and the food really good. I had the ribs and the chicken. Then later shared the smoked haddock, prawns, squid and potatoes, great! I thoroughly enjoyed everything as did the others with me.

We were trying to look for a Tapas restaurant on Trip advisor and our nearest one was no longer offering Tapas. So after looking at other reviews we chose Catalan in Warwick, which suited us best as one of our diners needs Gluten free foods and the Catalan menu made it very clear and simple to see which of the dishes were gluten free. Actually it was most of their dishes. Also the tapas dishes were clearly separated into fish meat and veg. Also for me as a Tomatophobe dishes with tomatoes were also clearly shown and there was still plenty to choose from.

Went here last night with a group and we had Tapas buffet style - very interesting, good selection and hot food - try it for your self you will not be disappointed.

Another top experience at Catalan last night! Being local to the area my partner and I have tried many restaurants and this one always comes out on top! Great value for money & real tasty food. We will be back for sure!

From what I can remember, my wife and I came here for an evening meal as the kids were at the grandparents! We looked for a place in Warwick that catered for vegetarians and which was not too busy, and we found this on the main street. We were seated quickly and served relatively in a timely manner. The waitress (Raquel - I have the receipt) by all accounts was friendly and explained how to order. The tapas was very good and enjoyable, and I believe had a good vegetarian option. I probably would go again and I'd recommend it as well. It is clean and atmospheric. Can't give it the fifth point as I know there were some minor issues that I had (but not enough to remember what they were!!!).

Ate here for dinner the other day and the service was terrible. After reading the response of the general manager on an earlier review, their unprofessional nature is reflected in the culture of the restaurant. Food is overpriced and they try and appear as a chain, disappointing for an independent, my wife and I did not feel it was good value for money. There are much nicer restaurants in the local area.

We went as a large group and loved it ! The tapas were great and the hake and octopus were excellent. Mixed views on the paella- too meaty for some - but I loved it . Both the Lopez red & white wines were great value . A really nice change from the normal chains . Good service and the manager dealt very well with an issue on the food .

I have now been twice to this restaurant. Both experiences were very similar even though I came back 14 months later.

It was freezing outside and inside. The owner very defensive when we asked why there was no heating or music. He made us feel very uncomfortable even though everyone there was wearing coats and scarves to keep warm. You have to wonder about someone who works in their slippers. Food was actually ok, although we would have eaten anything to keep warm. If we hadn’t been so polite we would have left. A depressing, cold and expensive experience, we won’t be going back.

This is a fabulous restaurant. Superb food - most of our large group had the set Tapas menu, 3 waves of delicious dishes. Great atmosphere, excellent service and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this place - especially for groups - such fun to share the dishes. Makes a lovely change from the usual restaurant chains.

Took advantage of Catalan’s experiment to offer fixed price Tapas evening for Wednesdays.

Booked a table for four at the end of October half term. Restaurant had pleasant atmosphere but the tapas was rather ordinary and not as tasty as we've had elsewhere. Although the restaurant was busy, it was over staffed with waitresses standing in a line watching us eat. Better than experiencing poor service I suppose. Wouldn't go back.

We visited on the first Wednesday of a nes venture a midweek buffet. For 15 pounds a drink, we had a fab Sangria, basket of bread with oil and balsamic then the buffet. Brilliant paella, i didnt try the pork stew but it looked good, chicken wings 2 veg, cold meats olives, 2 types of potato salad. It is definitely worth the visit. We also had a sweet and good coffee, 20 pounds a person was great value. Tge staff were fantastic. Tge onl draw back the toilet was not acccessible

This is a good wine bar with restaurant attached. Nice seating as well. The beer was good and cocktails also nice (strong). Good outside seating at the back as well.

Really good food and a very convivial atmosphere. We ordered a selection of tapas to start and they were all lovely. Mains were 2 x paellas (1 seafood and 1 veggie) and 2 portions of seabass - all declared delicious. Service was great and never flagged despite the restaurant being very busy. A really good choice in Warwick - a change from the usual chainfare!

The food is great but the wine selection is somewhat limited for a Tapas bar. The quality and portion sizes are excellent and the service with a smile was brilliant.

Nice restaurant in Warwick which serves Spanish/catalonia tapas food. Tapas are not "mounted" on bread but served in individual dishes. Food was slightly expensive but really good with the definite Spanish touch. Meat was succulent. We were 4 adults and we ordered 11 dishes which was perfect as we shared the dishes. Waitress from Madrid was very helpful and knowledgeable, customer service very good.

I can not thank everyone enough at Catalan for an incredible night in September! We had my 40th birthday there and it was perfect in every detail...The food was amazing catering for over a 100 of my friends and family who haven't stopped raving about it!!!! Another amazing find whilst visiting Warwick. Beautiful restaurant which serves Spanish/catalonia tapas food. Food was really good, there was 2 of us and we ordered 6 dishes which was plenty. Lots of lovely wine and cocktails! Staff very good and knowledgeable about the food.

My wife and I were in Warwick looking for lunch. We do not like eating in empty restaurants and nearly gave Catalan a miss because we firstly mistook the bar for the restaurant and secondly could not immediately see anyone in the restaurant. Thank goodness we rectified those mistakes on our part.On entering the restaurant we were promptly and warmly greeted and shown to a table. The restaurant is very pleasant with the decor enhanced by nice touches of Catalonian decoration. There were also a number of other diners in the restaurant. Service throughout was helpful, efficient and pleasant.Tapas was the order of the day and we shared Patatas Bravas - £4.75p,Jamon Serrano - £7.20p, Albondigas - £6.25p, Higos Con Jamon Serrano - £7.25p, Pulpo Con Tomate - £13.95p, Buenuelos De Langostino - £6.95p. We thought the quality of all the dishes was good but special mention should be made of the Serrano Ham which clearly was properly air dried and the Octopus which were both very good indeed.We drank a bottle of Tempranilla - Lopez de Haro Roble - £22.00p which was very good and complemented the food perfectly. Coffee was £2.50p each.Overall this was a very pleasant and above average lunch and we will certainly go back again

Went as a group following a training course and they fitted us in, mid week and early evening. They could have been a bit quicker at the bar but the food was really good, tasty and reasonably priced. They couldn't work it out to pay individual bills but slit the bill equally for us , gave us loads of copies of the receipt, many places are awkward about this but no problem here. Would definitely recommend this place, good menu choices and very tasty food

This is a lovely restaurant with great ambience and very nice surroundings. The service was excellent, although the food was found wanting, especially the tapas. Having lived in Spain the tapas is the main stay of meal and should set the scene and I am afraid the ones we had [around ten different ones] failed to do this. One aspect in their favour in the menu was their creme catalan, which was very good. We would not go back.

Great way to spend a Bank holiday Monday. Live music comfortable seats, Malcolm the owner brought out more so we could sit down. The terrace is great for these small music events.

Estuvimos un grupo de amigos de visita al castillo y al salir nos fuimos a comer a este sitio , por aquello del reclamo de las banderas españolas y el nombre de El Catalán, pensando en algo de comida nuestra. Nada más lejos de la realidad, ya que aparte de las cervezas Alhambra y Estrella Galicia , lo demás es una porquería. Os aseguro que he estado en muchos sitios en muchas partes del mundo y nunca había encontrado un sitio tan falso y lleno de tópicos culinarios manipulados para aprovechar el tirón de la cocina española en un sitio donde no saben lo que es el arte de la gastronomía ni por asomo.Como no sería de malo que lo dejamos todo menos la bebida y las patatas fritas y nos fuimos a otro restaurante a almorzar . Aunque se lo pagamos todo, esto molestó mucho al dueño, un individuo probrexit, repulsivo de largos pelos grises grasientos, que empezó a largar fiestas contra los espanoles. Así que ya sabeis: si eres español no serás bienvenido , a pesar del nombre y las banderas de reclamo.Vete a otro sitio, que no te perderás nada. Es más, ganarás mucho.Hacia mucho tiempo que no estaba en un restaurante tan malo....y desde luego no se corresponde con las puntuaciones que tiene en TripAdvisor. Debe tener un grupo de amiguetes que le votan....

The place is nicely decorated, (although my partner didn't like it) - we had my friends birthday dinner here, and sat outside, which was very pretty. However service wasn't great. We all ordered (there was about 15 people in total), as its tapas, most of us had 3-4 dishes each. However I didn't receive two of my dishes and had to ask TWICE where they were. Everyone else's food was brought and I felt this was bad customer service as they shouldn't have brought anything out if it wasn't ready. Finally after everyone had finished, they brought my last dish - I'm pregnant and was very hungry so it was hugely disappointing to have to eat a few slices of toast after finishing everything else - I had wanted to mix it with one of my other dishes. They took it off the bill - but that's really the least they could do. Food was average - not great and not that Spanish. I've had much better.

Il pleuvait, nous avions été quelque peu déçus par l'entrée dans Warwick, était-ce un tropisme méditerranéen qui nous incitait à trouver ici le soleil dans la cuisine et à penser pénétrer dans une auberge espagnole ? Auberge, pas vraiment, mais plutôt pub boboïsé, un peu rock selon le décor, et espagnole pas plus, mais ouvertement tapas sur la carte, ce qui a conforté notre choix. Renseignement pris, ni le Chef ni le serveur ne parlent la langue de Cervantès, ou de Julio Iglésias, et la Catalogne ici affichée est plus un positionnement culinaire qu'une revendication politique. C'est aussi bien pour le déjeuner où nous commandons un assortiment de tapas à partager au centre de la table : piquillos, oignons, beignets de crevettes, pommes de terre et oeufs (huevos), boulettes et poulpes... Une façon très agréable de picorer son repas en attendant que la pluie cesse. Avec le "Catalan" nous aurons en tout cas compris que le Brexit ne s'appliquait pas à la cuisine et que l'Europe dans l'assiette avait encore de beaux jours à vivre. Cette mixité là, au moins, a des vertus pacifiques qu'il est bon d'encourager.

Decided last minute to have a meal out with our two teenage sons but wanted to try somewhere new. Having not had authentic tapas since a trip to the Balearics two years ago we were lucky enough to get a table and were not disappointed. Our waitress was lovely, very knowledgeable and as she had a Spanish accent, we assumed she was from Spain. My younger son and I shared tapas and my husband and eldest had paella. So much food! Delicious! A really enjoyable evening.

called in here and at first were told no room for six but then manager came out and said he could move things around to accommodate us . we had a fantastic meal , l jokingly said , where's the after mints , he said sorry don't have any but you can all have a liquor instead !! perfect evening served by lovely staff .

First time I've visited and it made a nice change, extremely nice , attentive staff and food typically Spanish. Could be a little pricey if you go for tapas but not outrageous. We had a tapas dish as a starter and paella as main course and total cost was very reasonable. The paella was good, not a massive portion as you sometimes see in Spanish restaurants,but more than enough and a generous amount of seafood. Sat in the 'courtyard' area - not exactly a courtyard with walls and only part of the roof open to the sky, but nice enough on a rather humid summer evening.

Just arrived back home from a stunning meal for two with my wife, consisting of wonderfully fresh and tasty tapas combined with excellent service. We are off to Spain soon and can not imagine the food will be anywhere as near as good as this. Although the drinks are a little on the expensive side I highly recommend it and will certainly visit again!!! Please do not open one in Coventry as you will struggle to keep me out of it!!! Thank you for a lovely start to the evening!

Really impressed. Great food and staff were friendly and attentive. Was a little while ago, but remember some good dishes of grilled peppers, asparagus, chicken, chorizo and prawns. Your standard tapas options but all done very nicely. Plates were the right size and 7 dishes between two left us happily satisfied. Nice venue and the bar area looked good. The beer garden looked like a nice space too. Thank you for an enjoyable and memorable meal.

We chose to eat here because it was close to the Warwick Arms where we stayed. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The food was very good the service was equally prompt and friendly

Being local to Warwick we have visited many restaurants in the area and Catalan remains our favourite by far. The quality of food & value for money is second to none. We will be back shortly!

We recently visited for a business event with a large party of 19. They were excellent, flexible with numbers even just a couple of hours before we arrived. Staff were attentive, food and wine were excellent and all very reasonable price. Thank you.

The Tapas were excellent. We particularly like the meatballs--our favorite. It was a good place to dine out of the heat of the weekend.

We just had a few drinks and we really liked the place. nice garden at the back, Spitfire beer and Estrella Galicia and decent wines...easily the best place in Warwick..

Visited Catalan on an extremely busy weekend and day of the week (Saturday night, on a bank holiday weekend, at the beginning of the Warwick food festival and Jaz, Blues and Soul festival!), not only were they most accommodating, despite having a large group size with an additional seat on the night - but they were also accommodating for vegan guests with food allergies! They were excellent in helping me book for my partners surprise birthday party, put up decorations I'd had to stealthily leave the day before, and the overall service was impeccable! The food was fabulous, brought out in good time and the waitress only needed our drinks order the once and was able to remember it for the entire evening. Would highly recommend on the food and service alone, but if you're also looking for a reliable and trustworthy place to book for a large group - I can't recommend Catalan more! A definite must go and perfect addition to Warwick - thank you again Catalan and our compliments to the chef!

Stayed in Warwick just for one night over the weekend, my partner was determined to have tapas for dinner. We stumbled across this place and were delighted that they could squeeze us in as we hadn't booked a table. They had a lovely range of tapas dishes, we were spoilt for choice. We had 6 between the 2 of us plus a basket of complimentary bread. It was all divine, particularly the pigs cheeks! Unfortunately we had no room for dessert but they looked great. My only negative and why I didn't give them a 5 rating is the price of the drinks, one pint and a g&t was over £10 which is pretty steep. This wouldn't put me off returning but I certainly wouldn't continue drinking in here once i'd finished my meal.

Have eaten here a couple of times over the last few years. Once for a wedding reception and once for a large family gathering. Theses were both excellent. We tried it again on Friday night and once again the food and service was excellent. We had the party menu which is 2 waves ( servings ) of 5 different tapas. This was a great way to try different tapas but only if you like sharing .

We called in for a quick drink - and left an hour or so later . Lovely place , lovely warm welcome , great food

We've visited Catalan several times over the last few years and we've never been disappointed. The food is very tasty and piping hot; heaven! The atmosphere is lovely and the service is always efficient. Faultless. Keep up the good work!

We visited here on Thursday evening and as normal it never let us down great food great atmosphere ... and a few beers always ticks the boxes, we also there on Sunday afternoon Spanish music in the background more cold beer perfect relaxing environment

We were on a trip to Warwick when we saw the Catalan bar and called in on the hope that we were in time for tapas. Luck (and timing were on our side) and it was 2:20pm so we ordered beer and tapas for four. The food was with us in five minutes; Calamari, salt cod fish balls and spicy potatoes all went down a treat. The drinks were good, the food was excellent, the atmosphere pleasant and the staff attentive. Toilets were clean and tidy. Well worth a visit. Will visit here again.

Wow wow had lunch with my son on Easter Monday at this little gem....where do I start...staff fantastic ....food mouth watering ....attention to detail ,great wine list,....thank you for making my time with son sooooo fabulous .....

So - I did enjoy lunch at Catalan, but it's unfortunate that I lived in Spain for a long time, and actually I still go back and forth pretty often. And I have to say that in pretty much any cafe in Spain, you can find food better than this at about a third of the price. My friend and I ordered albondigas (quite good) croquetas with bacalao (mediocre) pimientos de padron (good but there were only 4 or 5) and patatas bravas - the patatas were ok but the sauce they came in wasnt great. I was kind of expecting to be served some bread, but this wasn't automatically included, we had to order this separately and it came with olives. I had quite a nice glass of rioja - but at £5.40 it better be quite nice. We both had arroz con leche for dessert but that was poor, overly milky, so when you push your spoon into the rice, the spoon fills up with milk - no good at all. We both had espresso, which was good. In total we paid £50 (including tip - the waiter and waitress who looked after us were very helpful) and I can't help but think how ludicrous it is to pay 50 quid for some average tapas that you would get, as I say, pretty much anywhere in Spain for about 25 euros. All part of Brexit Britain I suppose.

food very good but service and ambience in the restaurant could be a little better. 3 waitresses and when we arrived one of them just pointed to the table we had booked, whilst they just appeared to stand around. They did not ask any questions like had we eated there before or how the menu worked etc or even showed us to the table. We were advised by someone who had been there before, if having Tapas order 6 between 2. when the food arrived it was worth it and the service will not stop us returning to try other items on the menu.

Good selection of food, nice setting and friendly staff. Quite nice that after you finish your meal they have a separate bar area that you can go through to. Portion sizes aren't the biggest but everything was well cooked. A little bit pricey maybe.
