I tried to order some food via deliveroo. The restaurant called me and said that they don’t have some items which should be reflected on the menu online. I asked to cancel the order instead. They told me to cancel it from my side. I tried contacting customer service who said that they cannot reach this place over the phone to confirm cancellation. When I called again and asked to pick up the phone within next couple of minutes to confirm cancellation because deliveroo cannot go ahead without it, the person on the phone was extremely rude to me. At first he said that it his 2nd day of work, with this attitude on your 2nd day he shouldn’t last for much longer.

I love coming to Tartine. I randomly came across this cafe as a student nearby four years ago and I still visit here to this day. The food and coffee is always delicious, it is always flavourful with large portions. It’s an excellent business and a friendly establishment 😌❤️ Recommend coming here strongly

Terrible service - lad behind the counter was on their phone the whole time and we were made to feel like a pain for ordering. Table was sticky. Ordered a veggie breakfast and breakfast bap. The plate was swimming In water from the eggs so the bread was soggy and there was a random block of Brie in the middle of the plate. Breakfast bap (£6.50!) was especially underwhelming. The light fixtures are dusty and no soap in bathroom. The place feels a little unloved and customers unwanted.

I remember this place being very good but, judged on my latest experience, things have gone down hill somewhat. The menu is still varied, with plenty of vegetarian options, and the service is friendly, if decidedly slow. The coffee and juices were excellent, but we were all (four of us) rather disappointed with the easily-countable number of fries served with the quesadillas - my quesadilla was of below-average quality and only lukewarm. Our side order of calamari, when it eventually came (we had to ask for it twice), consisted of a paltry three rings, accompanied by a sad-looking bit of salad - this for about a fiver, I recall. The extra portion of fries we ordered was again small and slow to arrive and when we drew the inadequate portion size to the attention of the waiter we were told a little dismissively that this was normal. To his credit, he brought us another portion of fries and one extra ring of squid on the house. I'm not a serial complainer and offer this review in the genuine hope that things improve to the level at which they they used to be.

This Algerian French place is perfect for a sunny day with it tables outside. Unfortunately on the day visited , it was raining. Had lunch here- the French Tacos- interested: filling of mince beef, chicken , fries and cheese: nice and filling, on the heavy side for a sandwich. There was accompanied fries and salad. Service good. I had coffee here a number of times: flat white: good. The ice coffee was too milky and weak. The almond slice is good as well as the pecan tart.

My experience with Tartine today was terrible! I bought two slices of red velvet cake take away and I was asked to pay £ 3.80 each for for a total of £ 7.60. Once I got home I checked the website and on the menu one slice of red velvet cake is listed for £ 3. I have been charged £ 1.60 extra. Very disappointed!

I chose this chic cafe at short notice as one of usual spots for breakfast wasn’t open . The coffee was ok, freshly ground- could have been slightly stronger. My Spanish omelette was ok , it was not very hot when served and the side order of toast was cold which was strange as there was only one other group of (3) being served. The owner was polite and the decor was in the guise of a French cafe. Online it said Mediterranean cuisine so I had expected some Arabic dishes but they were all stuff you see in Europe. My friend had salmon & eggs but the salmon was not very fresh. A 4-5/10

It gives me no pleasure to write this review. There is no point in having great food if the surroundings of a restaurant are dingy, unhygienic and scruffy. The seat I sat on was stained, there was just a feeling of unsavouriness about it. The place needs a total overhaul. Such a shame, since the coffee is great and the waitresses were polite and quick.

I’ve visited this place a few times as it’s near to where I live and to be fair the food is very good. On almost every occasion though their service lets them down. I can normally put up with it but on my last visit it was so bad I had to make a complaint. I was ignored when I went in, had to go up to the counter to place my order (service staff are meant to take orders at your table), my meal was late so I had to go and ask where it was and when it did arrive part of it was wrong. Some (not all) staff are rather lacking in basic social skills and I find generally unapologetic about delays and mistakes. I won’t be going there again.

I went here today for a light lunch, I have been many times as it is in my neighbourhood but the menu has changed recently and I thought I would see how it was. For me a good overall experience is just as important as the quality of the food or the service on its own, although of the two The service is more important to meThe service was polite and friendly although I did have to ask for water and nobody ever came by my table again and asked if everything was okay which I did expect I had the chicken empanadas which was nice with salad and fries. It was all nice except there was no dressing on my salad which in some ways is a detail, but no dressing just left lettuce which the salad mainly was with a slice of cucumber. from some dry leaves to something memorableI had a cappuccino which is fine and when I did receive my water that I asked for it did have lots of ice in it which is goodSo maybe a little bit more attention to detail in the kitchen and a little bit more attention to the customer in the restaurant and you will be getting a five star ratingI will return

Stopped by for an impromptu brunch with my sister and wife as the pastries in the counter looked tempting. I ordered eggs royale with a flat white. Food was fairly average standard and we all agreed that it was slightly odd that breakfast items were served with the option of fries. The barista also needs retraining as despite claiming my coffee was a flat white, it was actually a latte - cup was too big and way too much steamed milk. The food was relatively cheap though which was one positive. Overall, we came away a bit disappointed as if I go out for brunch, I expect something a bit special, so probably won't be back in a rush.

I'm definitely partial to a bit of brunch, particularly on a Sunday morning (or afternoon) and so hearing of a little place just up the road from home that serves brunch until 5pm on a Sunday seemed like just my kind of place. The atmosphere inside is very pleasant, it's very relaxed and the service is pretty much just what you need when you're a group who wants a relaxed Sunday morning although I can see it might be a little too relaxed for those wanting a more 'service-focussed' approach, it worked just fine for us. It was clean and the decor lived up to the 'artisan' name without feeling like it was trying too hard. So, the meal itself. The coffee was good, they make a pleasant skinny latte, though I feel the size of my 'large' latte might have been better attributed as a medium, particularly if you're used to pretty much any true coffee shop (even the chain) definition of a large latte.Alas, that's pretty much where the good ends. The first time I try a place for brunch you can pretty much guarantee I will order Eggs Benedict, aside from being my favourite dish, it's a good benchmark; poached eggs, good hollandaise and a nice base are a good measure. I really should have followed my 'spider sense' when the little star next to the menu's description of EB included 'Turkey Ham' and 'Brioche' I naively thought they were just trying to be a bit upmarket in their description of toasted bread. Turns out they weren't. The perfectly poached eggs were sat on some fairly uninspiring turkey ham and sickeningly sweet toasted brioche. The combination was somewhat unpalatable to say the least. The huge pile on fries on the plate would normally have been completely unnecessary, but in this instance were actually welcome once I'd removed the offending bread product. The mixed salad, including a random salted olive, went untouched. My fellow diners were more impressed by their croissant and jam (hard to ruin that really, though I suspect this place would try!) and salmon scrambled eggs which seemed to go down and actually sat on real bread.I'm not certain if they were just trying to hard to be hipster in an area that is trying to be 'up and coming' or if they genuinely had no idea that a real Eggs Benedict should be a simple affair that shows skill rather than flavour overload. Either way, they definitely missed the goal on this one.I might go back and give something else there a try, but only because it's within hangover-walking distance.

The cafe is great and has a nice, relaxed atmosphere, however when we arrived, we had to clear tables and pull them together ourselves and find menus and hand them out. We ordered drinks, a few of which came quite quickly, and a couple we had to remind them we were waiting for. The food itself was really tasty (although they got one order wrong), good sized portions and really well priced. Incredibly disappointed. Bad food and bad service. Had to order drinks twice as the waitress forgot half of the order. The coffee was luke warm. Service was incredibly slow and we asked for the bill and waited 15 minutes to get it. I was given my plate of food and it was taken away from me as soon as it was put down and they took the mushrooms off, I didn't ask for that so that is confusing because I wanted them. The plate came back and there were chips on it instead, how strange. My friends chicken baguette smelled terrible, something was very wrong with the chicken. When she told the manager he had an incredibly arsey attitude. He then proceeded to EAT the chicken at our table to taste it, and refuted that there was anything wrong with it and it was just "marinated". The customer is always right, and that was the most unprofessional thing I have ever encountered at a restaurant, still in shock. Overall completely disappointed and a waste of money.

Breakfast finished @ 11am which we thought early, as did some other prospective clients who stopped to read the menu and continued on when they checked the time. One of our party ordered a scone (which was on the menu, served with jam & clotted cream) however, they did not have any. A croissant was ordered instead. This came in a basket on it's own, we had to ask for butter and jam. Maybe just an oversight on the waitresses part but good value for money here with a nice menu.

The food in here is always delicious! Great smoothies too. The service is a little slow but because they are always so busy. Staff are always very friendly and polite though. By far the best place to breakfast/brunch/lunch in the local area as long as you've the time to make it a leisurely one!

Had the biggest pot of hot tea in the world, delicious. Accompanied by very good huge slice of red velvet cake. Kept two of us busy and warm for a long time. Very reasonable price too

We had been to their Balham branch and loved it. Decided to try the Tooting branch for a family lunch and were not disappointed. Very friendly service although a bit slow! Tasty food, portions could have larger (lasagna). Worth mentioning there is much more room in Tooting than Balham with mix of wooden chairs and sofas in Tooting but Balham has covered area outside (good for smokers and dog owners!). Good choice on menu with north african influence (gently spiced), coffee was good.

Excellent value for money: the portions are very generous and the food is delicious. One of my favourite spots for brunch and dinner or just a coffee and cake. The beef burger is gorgeous, as is the chicken wrap. Their eggs royale is lush. The menu is very extensive so easy to find something for everyone. Always absolutely packed and you can't book so worth bearing that in mind if you're a big party.

This is now the second time in the last month I have visited Tartine in Tooting for breakfast.Good points: The coffee is good, the staff are friendly, the mezze food, hummus, and burgers are quite palatable.Bad points: It takes ages for someone to take your order and bring the bill at the end, breakfast has been served to me stone cold and lukewarm to me on both recent occasions. On the eggs royale: brioche toast gives a simply unpalatable combination of sweet and savoury - I suggest putting it on normal toast! I rarely leave any food, let alone 3/4 plate left untouched, and am disappointed the staff didn't even ask if there was a problem. The smoked salmon used is clearly cheap, and the browning cuts were just not appetising to see displayed on the plate. The salad this comes with was doused in creamy dressing, which didn't match the rest of the meal, and mixed with their poor excuse for hollandaise was nauseating. It may be conveniently local and cheap, but the kitchen in Tartine has definitely gone downhill in the last few years.

Stopped here for brunch as new to area not sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised hubby had eggs Benedict and was surprised when three eggs arrived egg perfectly cooked and the ingredients were too. I had granola yoghurt fresh fruit which was lovely and whole meal toast, the toast was more like warm bread but once pointed out to the staff they took it away and toasted it some more. Relaxing atmosphere with a good vibe. Price average. Would happily visit again.

Appears welcoming and worth a visit but once inside it does not really deliver anything beyond the norm. The menu looks adventurous but the food is not good. Generally disappointed.

Been to this cafe/restaurant on a few occasions now and disappointed each time with service. Greeting is generally abrupt and not very helpful with first come, first serve basis being dismissed for friends the staff. Being served and orders being taken seems a bit of a chore for the staff at times and drinks do take some time to arrive, the best thing about this restaurant is the food - really simple but good food and presented well. Service lets this restaurant down majorly but it has such a good location and potential. If there can be a bit more enthusiasm from the whole waiting team then everything would be 100x times better

Having been to the Tooting Branch many times and as I was in Balham persumed I would get the same service and food. Ordered eggs benedict. I asked if I could swap the chips for the sautéed potatoes and was met with a sharp 'no'. While waiting I could see the kitchen and noticed the 'chef' preparing some poached eggs. These were mine and remained on the hot shelf for at least 15 mins while they cooked my boyfriends dinner. When it arrived I looked at the 'ham' and saw it was a strange brown colour it tasted really awful. I called the waiter over and asked what it was 'ham' he said. I asked if it could be changed for smoked salmon which he did without any apology. On closer examination of the menu I noticed a very small footnote that further discribed the ham as turkey-ham. Whatever that is. Whatever it us its not nice. When my food came back the eggs were rock hard. The staff were all running around appearing to not be achieving very much. It was full and busy. I would be surprised if it remains so. I won't be back.

It's a good combination between good price and handmade foods! The vegetarians dishes are nice and tasty. I like a lot the falafels and humus. Also the hamburger are tasty!

This place is well located and makes great looking patisserie, staff is rather friendly. I just thought that their food was slightly over-rated. For half of the price, you can eat a panini as nice at the coffee shop next door.

Had brunch at Tartine for the first time on Sunday 11th May. I had the worst the eggs benedit ever! The " hollandaise sauce" tasted like cold chicken soup straight from a sachet [ it was the same greyish colour too). I mentioned it to a waiter who said he will check with the chef...he came back with more the greying stuff in a little bowl and assured me it was hollandaise sauce . Won't be back anytime soon

The cafe is nice, the food is good, the prices are affordable and it is always busy however the staff are simply rude and this would definitely make me not return although we did use to be regulars here.

This restaurant has been a Gem in Tooting, and still keeps up great standards. Even tho Tota came along to Tooting this Restaurant has kept a clean and friendly service and has made value for money and the staff are pleasant. We came here in January for the chicken Tagine that is to die for. and value for money, the breakfast and coffee is worth trying. such a really nice place !!!

i have never been here for dinner but the luch food is always good. the wraps and quesadillas are warm and filling. Coffee is good too. with there was a good rating because average feels a bit harsh but i do have a few gripes.the eggs benidcit are on brioche sweet bread which personally i didnt like. And once i found a bug in my salad, but at least it means its fresh and after explaining the situation and that i wouldn't like to pay for the food only the coffee they were very accommodating.overall its not bad at all and has been the pioneer of new and decent cafes in Tooting.

I'm unsure as to why this place doesn't have more reviews...it is well decorated with a relaxed atmosphere and is light and airey, perfect for a catch up with friends over lunch and the best coffee I have tasted in tooting-easily. The take away box they offer for lunch is fantastic, a sandwich -(there is a vast amount of choice) with chips. The portions are a good size and I have never managed to finish it all! I came once for breakfast with a friend and sat outside with a coffee and freshly baked pain au chocolat, it was just perfect! I would really reccomend this place for breakfast, lunch, a coffee or a catch up, or for those who work in the area and haven't yet discovered it, you won't look back. It is a pay day treat!!

The food is fine. But when i explicitly wrote that I wanted my calzone without pesto because I'm allergic to nuts they sent it with pesto anyway and said it wasn't clear, so they wouldn't redo the order or refund me. Even when I complained to Just Eat and they talked to the manager. So thanks Tartine! It's not like I haven't been eating at your place for two bloody years... Now I'm hungry and p****d off. I guess the customer is always right... unless the manager doesn't give a sshh.

Absolutely delicious! We were dubious because of the low score reviews but our expectations were more than exceeded and they must be old. Fabulous food and fabulous service, I’ve lived near Clapham Junction for 3 years and only ventured here after looking for a good French restaurant as it’s my mums favourite cuisine. Oh my god it was delicious, I had the steak bavette and it was so rich and tasty, my sister had the moules frites and devoured it. Mum had the chicken and throughly enjoyed it. All in all a fab experience and it genuinely feels like a restaurant that should be busier. You’ll see from my profile that I never leave reviews, but this was so fab that I felt like I had to! We will be back!

Very overpriced and wasn’t even good. Man with glasses seemed to be unhappy and stressed, was shouting and doesn’t seem to treat staff right.

Nipped in to shelter from the rain when I arrived the staff were so welcoming! I loved the coffee and the apple pastry! My trip was rushed as was dashing to the Turbine Theatre however looking forward to returning for a more relaxing breakfast/lunch. A great selection of delicious fresh food and the coffee was just perfect! 👌
