Absolutely delicious! We were dubious because of the low score reviews but our expectations were more than exceeded and they must be old. Fabulous food and fabulous service, I’ve lived near Clapham Junction for 3 years and only ventured here after looking for a good French restaurant as it’s my mums favourite cuisine. Oh my god it was delicious, I had the steak bavette and it was so rich and tasty, my sister had the moules frites and devoured it. Mum had the chicken and throughly enjoyed it. All in all a fab experience and it genuinely feels like a restaurant that should be busier. You’ll see from my profile that I never leave reviews, but this was so fab that I felt like I had to! We will be back!

Looove this restaurant, is just next to my apartment. The food is great! Went there a couple of times. I was there last night for Valentine’s Day, took the snails and the cote de beuf. The quality of food is so much better comparing other French restaurant. I wonder why it’s not always fully booked. But I will bring some of my friends to make them discover this amazing restaurant!

Le Pot Lyonnais needs more customers from the surronding local area and im not sure why it doesn't. It is a wonderful spot on a great road. The food makes you feel like you are in paris and the staff are overly attentive. Even if you fancy sitting there and watching the world go by I think it's a must go!

Ordered for take away, the fries for the burger was missing and the creme brulee was completely destroyed. Don't sell a product if you don't know how to package it. What was left of the creme brulee tasted like store bought vanilla pudding and the bourguignon tasted old and I unfortunately had to throw it away. We ended up only eating the burger which was a bit tasteless. Maybe they just had a bad day, an extra star for giving me a £13 offer in the next order but I won't order again, also they blamed the driver.

A firm favourite of mine for more than 10 years. They do an excellent Croque Madame even if it's not on the menu

We had dinner with friends last night (18th March 2023) and the food was outstanding. I had the crispy seabass which was beautifully cooked and presented. The plate looked wonderful and the additional herbs, olives and other delicious things really added to the flavour. The chef in this restaurant is fantastic and really understands how to combine flavours. My friends had the duck confit and ox cheek which was equally delicious. It's a spacious restaurant and you don't have to give up your table after 2 hours as in some restaurants in SW11. This is by far the best french restaurant in the clapham/battersea area and it's reasonably priced. Would strongly recommend.

We had a great meal here - everything was amazing. The steak tartare, the duck, flammenkueche and onion soup were all very authentic. The service was great too. Will definitely be back.

Got drinks, didn’t get food. It quiet and customer service is good, friendly staff too:) Prices are reasonable too.

The best Chateaubriand we’ve had! A true gem French place in Queenstown Road. The owner is very friendly and have a typical French sense of humour. Really recommend it.

I’ve lived in SW London for 15 years..so I’ve tried a few of the famous French restaurants in the area. I’ve tried the indistinctive Gazettes of the world, and the fine dining of Chez Bruce… Le Pot Lyonnais is distinctive and special. It has a vibe. London is really missing this kind of rustic no frills priority cooking. A special mention must go to the snails. They are soft, and buttery little numbers coated in parsley. The plate was shamelessly tipped into my mouth after the snails were finished. On a side night, the beer is serious. Very serious. Real effort is going into this. For me, this place serves the fizziest, coldest pint in all of London. Keep up the good word and spread the word!

Outstanding food. The half chicken dish was probably the best chicken I have ever tastes. I am actually sat in the restaurant writing this review.

Provides a taste of France almost as good as Gazette Brasserie.

From the perspective of a native French person you will have a truly French experience here. By that, I mean excellent food and outstandingly rude customer service! Bravo for bringing the Parisian attitude to London!!

I was asking to use toilet, the man charge me £3 as the cheapest transaction of his restaurant. Even I didn’t take the drink just paid £3 as I was desperate, toilet floor is dirty & unhinged

Lovely food served in a nice environment. The service can be slow at times but never frustratingly so - just go for an evening rather than a quick meal. The owner is a lovely guy and always welcoming.

Genuinely the best breakfast I ever had! The quality of the food was truly exceptional! And the service was very professional. Flawless experience! Definitely coming m back to try lunch! Oh and dog friendly which is impeccable.

We try to come to Le Pot Lyonnais every week—it’s a neighbourhood staple. Patrick’s food is always delicious—we’re big fans of the onion soup, salad lyonnais, chicken, and of course the steak, but we’ve tried just about everything on the menu and haven’t found anything we don’t like. The reviews don’t do it justice— would Definitely would recommend :)

The portion sizes are small for the price, which is very expensive. I ordered the chicken, which was just 2 drumsticks and a thigh, so the cost wasn't justified. This place is okay overall but there are better French restaurants in London.

Food especially the fillet steaks were excellent and value for money

Such a lovely restaurant with excellent food. Spacious yet intimate, casual yet upscale. We came around 2pm with our dog and will definitely be back for an evening meal as the atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner. Patrick couldn't have been kinder to our dog, allowing us to sit inside. He brought her a water bowl and treats from the kitchen. The half roasted chicken and vegetables were perfectly cooked and cost almost half what you'd pay in other London restaurants. Not a place to go if you're in a hurry but very nice for relaxing with a drink while you wait.

I dine at Le Pot Lyonnais regularly, and it is the finest French Cuisine in London that I have found (keeps me coming back) With a great atmosphere/Ambiance the staff are a great laugh, and is all good value money....every time.

Proper French restaurant with French staff. Nice to get something authentic. I had the duck confit with potatoes. Buttery, garlicky, flavoursome food. Perfect crisp skin on the duck, melt in the mouth meat and falling off the bone. Deliceux, bon appetit!

Turned away by the man serving, at 12.03pm saying he doesn't serve coffee before 12pm, only breakfast while the place was empty! lazy!!

Had another wonderful evening in this charming authentic french restaurant. It is indeed one of the few remaining restaurants in London that can be classed as such. If you around the area and want a quick snack. This is the place to go. Got the classic homemade burger and it was beyond my expectations. High recommend the place and they run a classic french menu from Lyon

Due to COVID regulations we had to sit outside on the pavement, which meant sitting by a busy road and no heaters, although they did have blankets. The food was lovely and we enjoyed it, however service was a little slow. Maybe would return when we are able to sit indoors but wasn’t blown away.

Enjoyed a fantastic evening there last night. We had snails to start with, followed by steak and chips. Steak was cooked to perfection. There are few places that do a steak as well as this place. Bravo Patrice!

The night we visited was a strange one, the restaurant was packed out and they had a power cut, The food was stunning and all cooked by candlelight too, The staff and owner were exceptional and made sure everyone was happy and got what they wanted, yes it took longer than usual but they handled it like true pros.Visit this place as there have made significant changes and improvements during the lockdowns and if it's classic french bistro food you're after it will not disappoint.

I a the owner of the shop next door to this restaurant. They have been making huge improvements whilst being closed for the lockdowns. On the last night before the tier4 corona closure, we decided to have dinner there, it was a fiasco of the highest order as the poor guys had a packed restaurant and then there was a power cut. The owner and waitress were really stressed as this was the last thing they needed on the night before yet another forced closure. The waitress and owner were going the extra mile and more to keep everyone happy, it was a memorable night as the food was super good and they had cooked it by candle light and the darkness gave it a really special atmosphere as well. Well done guys the restaurant is amazing and so are you all.

We live close to this restaurant and have been wanting to visit for a while. From outside it looks cosy and inviting, and although it has mixed reviews we were hoping for a local 'gem'. Honestly, it was not worth the wait. The heating was broken which, in November, is something of an issue! We were prepared to overlook it and just kept our coats on. We ordered our food - a filet steak tartare and a pate to start, and Chateaux Briand for main (we're heading for another lockdown, a treat was in order). The starters arrived very quickly, apparently because they were prepared with all of the care and attention of a teenager slapping together a burger at McDonalds (and that does a disservice to teenagers). The tartare was disgusting and full of gristle, so much so that it was inedible, and the pate was so 'chilled' it was rock hard and it tasted of cat food. Not a pleasing thought. Both dishes were returned, at which point the owner stormed over and argued with us (telling us that we were wrong, that there was nothing wrong with the food, and that we were lying about it being inedible). At this point, we offered to pay for our wine and leave, as the atmosphere was intensely unpleasant and, honestly, we didn't have high hopes for our £50 main course. He said that we weren't able to leave, as they'd already started cooking the main. He made no offer to replace our starters instead returning to the kitchen, muttering.Before the main arrived, the man came back and restarted the 'conversation', insisting again that we were wrong and refusing to acknowledge that, as customers, he shouldn't be berating us on the restaurant floor, regardless. He informed me that he always served pate ice cold and rock hard, because he 'likes it that way'. He did grudgingly acknowledge, though, that the tartare may not have been adequate. The main came and it was lovely. The steak, while not the best I've ever had, was nicely prepared and the sides (fries and mushrooms) were excellent. We also ordered a tarte tatin for dessert, and that was lovely, too. All in, the bill was just shy of £100 (even without the starters), which for a local restaurant is a lot. It decidedly wasn't worth it. The only positive of the evening was our waitress, for whom we felt desperately sorry (for having to work for such a patronising and rude man and for being caught in the middle of his outburst). She was incredibly calm and professional in a hideous (and completely avoidable) confrontation. She is the only reason we didn't leave. As such, we've given her a 5* review. We both very much hope she finds somewhere nicer to work, befitting of her obvious professionalism and skill.

Llegué a primera hora de la tarde para el desayuno tardío, pero luego vi mejillones en salsa de vino blanco en el menú y salí con frijoles elegantes en una tostada. Soy bastante local y he usado algunos restaurantes en esta calle, pero nunca aquí. La porción de mejillones era enorme y es la primera vez que nunca me termino un plato. La camarera era encantadora, el servicio estaba bien. Éramos los únicos clientes en ese momento, así que tal vez nos beneficiamos de eso, ya que la comida salió razonablemente rápida.No me di cuenta de lo grande que es el lugar y lo refrescante que es poder comer en un lugar espacioso sin otros clientes en tu cara, lo cual es típico aquí. Definitivamente me veo visitando nuevamente, pero la próxima vez probaré el desayuno completo u otro plato.

Patrick, el propietario es realmente increíble cuando lo conoces; los comentarios sobre su mala educación me parecen injustos. Es francés, divertido y fabuloso.El servicio puede ser un poco lento en algunas noches, pero el personal siempre es maravilloso, pero para ser justos, simplemente relájese con un poco de vino y disfrute de su comida tranquila.La comida siempre es deliciosa y bien preparada, los martinis de vino y espresso siempre están fríos y se sirven con una sonrisa.Quizás sea la actitud del comensal lo que hace que la experiencia sea buena o mala, no el restaurante.

Good food, service, and atmosphere. The MOULES MARINIERES was perfect with plenty mussels. The Cesar salad is just ok but the Lyonnaise salad was super!

Slow service, took an hour for a cocktail to then be told they couldn't make it. Food was missing from two simple orders. Would not go again.

Nos sentamos a tomar una botella de vino un viernes por la noche y fuimos recibidos por un encantador camarero que era claramente nuevo en el puesto y estaba abierto a la tutoría, la única razón por la que estoy señalando la raza es para que el propietario pueda reconocer esto. Fue increíblemente grosero con un camarero encantador, amable, positivo y trabajador que le hacía muchas preguntas al propietario para asegurarse de que hiciera bien su trabajo, el propietario respondió con los ojos en blanco y resoplidos. Horrible de ver, nos hizo sentir incómodos e inmediatamente nos fuimos, asegurándonos de decirle al camarero lo fantástico que nos hizo sentir. EL SERVICIO es importante, valore a su personal amable y trabajador, es raro en estos días. . . especialmente en Londres.

I worked in this restaurant until the last week, and i liked to work there, so i would etablish the truth concerning all this many and recent bad and unjustified reviews saying that the manager dont pay his employees...thats a lie i still have been paid normally, so all this people pretending to be came and have a really bad experience with the food and the service, have never set a foot in the restaurant, i do know it, simply because i was the waitress of this place...anyway, if you look for a good moment, i recommand this place, you will have a good time and a pretty good meal...

Popped into this place for lunch having never visited before. Very disappointing. Moules marinière were dreadful. Over cooked and bland resembling tough old rubber bands. The French guy who served us was rude and had no concept of customer service. Will never go back.

Très sympa, ambiance chaleureuse, on se sens accueilli, et en plus on y mange très bien (raclette, choucroute, soupe, dessert.... tout est bon miam!), le patron est au petit soin, pour les adultes et aussi pour les enfants, nous prévoyons d'y retourner régulièrement, les prix sont corrects ainsi que le vin. A group of 5 of us recently visited Le Pot for the first time. We all really really enjoyed the food. Steak was delicious and perfectly cooked to suit everyone’s preference. Portions were good. Atmosphere was lovely. I would definitely go again!

Some of these recent reviews are somewhat surprising. I can only speak of my own experience as a regular visitor to Le Pot for a number of years and have always found the quality of the food and service to be of a high standard, as well as reasonably priced. The wine list is particularly good at the high-end!

Une honte ! N’allez surtout pas dans ce restaurant. Le gérant est loin d’être agréable avec les clients mais aussi avec ses employés. Ça en est gênant pour la clientèle. Nous ne savons plus où nous mettre. Nourriture bof . Pour le prix on s’attend à bien mieux !!!
