Tariqs Indian Cuisine in Leeds

Chicken tikka kebab..... Got given a Donner. Stone cold with a green salad. Girl that served me clearly was more interested in the people outside. Then argued with me when I said chicken twice. EHO would have a field day in there. Close it down

I keep getting itchy legs l when in go in there and i scan the floor for fleas, the floor is filthy and it doesn't look like it has ever been mopped. I dread to think what germs are wriggling around on there. They spit in my food as well even if i stand to watch them prepare my food to prevent them from doing this, they found a way to spit in my garlic bread last night by hiding behind the oven i saw the member of hacking up phlegm just because they don't like someone'ps appearance. Disgusting racist lot

I used this takeaway many times but the quality and service deteriorated over several years. As other reviewers have said, they are not transparent on prices. I found a great takeaway on Hadden Road during lockdown. At last, curries without an oil slick and transparency to boot. As I said, don't waste your money

Having seen all the reviews, we were very apprehensive. Still average overall. The biggest disappointment was the service.

Absolutely disgusting service rung them 8 times no answer even tho I spoke to him a minute before food is edible That’s all I’m gonna say would never order from there again just for how you get treat for ringing quite often no loyalty ✌🏻

me and my friends visited this place after work (1am) last week and I ordered the chicken piece meal. Not only was the chicken not tasty, it gave me food poisoning. One week later I am still feeling the effects of this takeaway. Whatever you do, DO NOT ORDER THE CHICKEN, would 100% avoid at all costs.

When placing an order here on Uber eats I was not only made to come collect the order myself in storm Dennis, therefore I got wet through and I probably will end up ill, I also received the wrong order as well as it being flat cold because of the driver incompetence and refusal to come to the full destination. I would advise anyone never to order from here as when I rung the takeaway the staff were rude to me and wouldn’t help me with the issue and instead tried to blame me for the delivery drivers refusing to completed their jobs properly. So now I have wasted £20 on 2 inedible pizzas when I could’ve gone elsewhere for the exact same price. Full on rubbish wouldn’t recommend to anyone as staff are also extremely rude.

I used to like Tariqs and often ordered taleaways. Now their prices are not transparent. You bypass just eat and use the own prices but end up paying the just eat prices, even though you didn't use Just eat services. Win win for Tariqs! When I complained they said their online prices were out-of-date, but they still have not taken them down. Bit of a rip-off. Fodd has also deteriorated - has there been a change of ownership?

Ordered takeout, the food was extremely tasty and nice. Delivery wasn’t bad either. Highly recommend this place.

I don’t know if this takeaway is owned by different people but the delivery time is much better and the food now great

We ordered online and the food took over 2 hours to arrive, we repeatedly rang the restaurant to ask where it was and they had no idea, telling us it had set off and then when we rang 45 minutes later they told us it hadn't actually set off yet. When the food arrived it was cold and honestly the worst curry we have eaten, one of the dishes tasted like a vegetable soup. It was oily and when left on a plate the curry separated and had oily water around the outside. We rang the restaurant for a refund as it was so bad and they said they would offer no compensation whatsoever, leaving us to obtain 50% of our money back through Just Eat. Genuinely one of the worst meals I've had and terrible customer service. Do not order from this establishment.

Placed a large order one snowy evening and as the road were bad with snow we were 30 mins late however the order was still not ready! Not only that, the order was wrong and they made the wrong pizza. They were unhelpful and cheeky when we arrived to collect! After reporting this to them they offered a free pizza for the next order but I didn’t bother going back for it! Food was terrible too especially for the price paid.

Food was disgusting, gave us the wrong pizza, staff were rude. Waste of money! Won’t be going back there in a rush.

He estado comprando pizzas desde tariqs por más de 10 años y hace unos años cuando se han deshecho de cosas sobre Cachemira (leyenda) que asumí las pizzas iría cuesta abajo, pero se quedaron el mismo estándar. Esta noche pedimos una pizza de tariqs y fue horrible casi ningún queso, no podía probar el tomate y estaba seco. Supongo que este es el comienzo de la fusión del nuevo propietario, pero mi relación de 10 años con tariqs parado esta noche. Buena noche Dios los bendiga

Ordered a takeaway. All the starters are deep fried including the seekh kebab which is usually cooked in a tandoor! They got the order wrong too.

No taste whatsoever in the chicken handi. In fact I thought it was tofu rather than chicken! Couldn't taste any salt in the dish never mind anything else. Felt more hungry when I left than when I went in.

Servicio lento a pesar de que nadie pero nosotros y 2 chicos de que puedo tomar, pero se tardó una eternidad para nosotros, pedimos nuestros pedidos siguientes poppadoms (que eran bonitas por cierto). Encontrados entrante plato principal estaba bien pero era demasiado picante para casi todos nosotros, tenía el pollo tikka artesanía pero algunos sentimos el pollo tikka masala era demasiado picante. También había salsa curry relativamente poco en comparación con otros lugares, aunque fue una buena relación calidad-precio (y BYOB también). Arroz pilau Sosa, beige, aunque el ajo y cilantro naan era agradable. Lo siento, pero no vamos a volver.

We have twice visited this restaurant both on a Friday evening. Fortunately the quality of the food made up for the lack of diners ( we were the only ones eating). The starters and vegetarian main courses were very good. Naan bread was soft and...

We've eaten here twice on a Friday evening during March to find ourselves the only customers, though the take away is busy. A shame because the food is very tasty..we mentioned the first time that the bhajis were too salty and on the second visit they were fine. The waitress was very welcoming, pleasant and efficient but with the place so empty there just isn't any atmosphere.We did notice that on both occasions other restaurants in Headingley were very busy.The choices and prices are fine particularly for vegetarians and by bringing your own drinks that keeps the cost down.

Great service and menu - even a free drink! Food is good ( chicken tikka masala) and it arrives in good time

pizzas are good value I had the east meets west which was rather nice on another occasion had the Tariqs special which was nice with chapatis which were delivered to my home. good portion sizes & a nice selection of food on the menu

Tried this place after reading the reviews. The curry we ordered was watery and tasteless. In fact, it has put me off curries for a long time. I would never visit this place again.

I was ordering from here about 3-4 times in one week during my 2 week stay in a hotel in Leeds. I was extremely happy with the food and i loved every bit of it .Moving from Malaysia to here i was craving indian food nonstop and I discovered Tariqs on the just eat takeaway app. Now I that I have moved further from Leeds I am going to miss the food here heaps as I cant order it every day! I loved the king prawn jalfrezi and their east and west (i think thats what its called) pizza. Definitely will order takeaway again when I am in Leeds!!!! The delivery service was prompt and food was hot and yummy! The guy was super friendly and remembered me from the numerous orders! thanks so much!!!

This was the first Indian restaurant I ever visited when I first moved to Leeds in the 1990's. It was responsible for my curry addiction without doubt. Going back for the first time in about 15 years was a real treat. The place is fairly small and situated near the Rugby ground in lively Headingly, which means a great night out before or after your meal!! The food itself is fantastic and over the years I have got a little more adventurous. The staff are really nice and not over attentive and the general atmosphere is lively and fun. I will always try and get here more often as I've never had a bad time. Made me almost feel young again (cough!!!)

A group of 8 of us ate here last night. It was very busy but the manager found us a table ok and we were very grateful for his help. The food was outstanding and the young waitress was extremely efficient and friendly. A wee gem!

Brilliant food, bring your own alcohol but soft drinks are available. Amazing value, two meals for less than £23.

Quickish delivery time, nice delivery driver and the food was tasty. One thing I liked is that when I asked for mild it came mild. Find it hard to get a decent Indian takeaway, I would highly recommend Tariq's. Im stuffed!

Tariq's is just down St. Michael's Road in Headingley. It is only a few yards from the main road yet is very quiet. Most of the business is take-away. The sit-in is splendid value for money - superb service, great choice excellent cooking. Note that they serve proper mutton, not tasteless lamb of unknown origin. They do not have a license and you should take your own wine - no charge for corkage. We had a great evening and it was remarkable value for money.

I have never had a bad meal from tariqs and I have tried most things apart from the pizza.Tariq himself is an absolute gentlemen, its a pleasure to go into his establishment and chat with him whilst waiting for the food.In my opinion the best takeaway in Headingley.

We order currys from Tariqs all the time. The food is lovely and tasty. Its always made with a traditional taste. The owner recommends the best dishes and has awards for their curries. Its well recommended :)

Not only could I bend my popadom like a paper plate but the food was clap cold and the chips were soggy to boot to the point I could tie a knot in them. When I rang i got the excuse that it was a cold night, but no excuse for the popadom. Disgraceful.

Had a quiet (only 1 other couple in there) meal with a friend on a wet Wednesday in Leeds. The food was fantastic, especially the onion bhaji, and the lassi was superb! Told the waiter what I liked, and he recommended a dish, and it was great. All in all a great restaurant, could do with a liquor license, but otherwise highly recommended!

Quite simply the worst takeaway I have ever had, I wasnt aware chicken massala should look like thai green curry, and it was swimming in oil (see attached photo) I've eaten in Tariqs restaurant before a number of years ago and that was really nice but the takeaway should be swiftly avoided. The prawn madras my son ordered is actually watered down tomato soup with the poorest of quality prawns ever known to mankind. Zero rating I have to say. I Basically paid £21 for an utterly disgraceful meal. AVOID!

We came for a short visit to Leeds and of course went for dinner to Tariqs at Headingley. Have always when in Leeds had the takeaways from here, but this time went with friends. Had a good evening, good food be it curry , Lamb hindi, or korma. Keema naans are good. A bit like everything else. Well worth a visit.

A quick meal after the Leeds - Wigan Match.Starter pretty average - we did not get the mint sauce.Asked for the mango Lassi but told they had none, Next two table to arrive were served the same. Whats up there then?????Main course - Madras was OK for spice level and taste but the chicken used was second rate. Veg Biriyani was not Biriyani but a sort of pilau / rice concoction, not bad though.Overall, OK but nothing to write home about. Service was also nothing to write home about.Naan and Chapatis were quite good.Overall, the Wigan loss was not the worst part of the night.

As I said; Best Pizza in Leeds. Quick delivery time, really fresh tasting food, it's lovely, and you get loads.

Good selection of favourite Indian dishes with friendly and competent service. Can get a bit noisy if there are large student parties visirng. No licence so bring your own booze.

Well we have been Tariq's regulars for many years, but only used the takeaway. Finally we managed to visit the restaurant as a table of 28 and we were not disappointed. Lovely service, beautiful curries! The best thing about this place is that they will do you ANY CURRY on a pizza. Nothing beats that. Do yourself a favour and get involved right now!

Well where do I start. I suppose it would have to be when I discovered Tariq's around 4 years ago when a Handi pizza from aforesaid establishment changed my takeaway habits forever and quickly became my "go to guys" for curing a hangover. A troop of 24 of us went to celebrate a good friend and frequent customer's birthday. We were asked to pick a set menu per 4 people which was done very well with a standard mixed starter per person. Everything was served and cooked with love and precision. A good meal and laugh was had by all. The lamb jalfrezi was particularly sumptuous and it will cause a suitable amount of intestinal distress. For £12 a head including as much rice an naans as you could possible cram in your pie hole, this meal was a bargain and will most definitely be returning for a similar debauched and curry crammed evening!

This restaurant has a canteen feel over it. The room was cold and echoey and we had to bring our own alcohol. The food, however, was good and the service and prices were great.

When visiting Leeds. a visit to Tariqs is a must. Was a Saturday night and quite hungry, Heading back to our hotel and had to visit Tariqs. Food is fantastic, Nan breads to die for. We are annual visitors and would recommend this to anyone who loves a massive choice of quality food. Good prices too.

I visited this restaurant last night with work mates, we arrived without booking and the place was empty ( which usually concerns me ) but being a tuesday night ( student night ) we were not to surprised, the waiter advised us to have a mixed starter and main course meal as it worked out £11 a head, there was 11 of us, so we agreed, so much food arrived that we struggled to eat it all, the food was lovely, such a variety catering for pretty much all tastes, only downside is it is not licenced, the place is very clean, service very good, food very tasty
