Tapas Revolution Meadowhall in Sheffield

This was a nice place , we use to go for lunch whilst shopping. Won't ever go again, awful food , menu changed, last time will go, politely asked if it had changed hands to the waitress and she said that it was a new chef. Disappointing. Realised when we left why it was empty

Extremely disappointed. 20 pounds for two extra small paellas. Added service charge automatically. Extremely long time of waiting to get the bill, even after asking multiple times. Will not be back.

Nice enough food, but let down by service. Main arrived whilst we were still eating our starter. No acknowledgement of this fact from the server. Then we decided on a coffee instead of a pudding, only to be told at point of ordering they didn't have any coffee!!

The food was completely burnt and they put it on our table in the same way 😂. £20 for a dry chicken and some burnt potatoes...it's clear that I won't be coming back.

We decided to try Tapas for the first time in a while and thought we would give Tapas Revolution a go. We were greeted by a very nice gentleman and we discussed the menu, there was an all you can eat offer, so we went for it. Our server was awesome, (Rebecca) and her attitude towards her role was refreshing, friendly, professional and attentive without being intrusive. The chef (Ollie) was on point, firing out traditional dishes with enthusiasm and skill. All the staff had time for a chat and made us feel like valued customers. We overindulged as one does when its an all you can eat, but unlike most places the standards were maintained likewise was the service, all in all we had a greet experience and will certainly visit again soon. Thank team.

Came here with my partner, we needed a light snack and wasn't disappointed. From the moment we got there we were greeted and promptly seated. After we had a brief look at the menu we decided on the calamari and bruschetta. Cooked beautifully and completed with the rioja must try, ask for Dan the man.

My partner and I went out for a date night to the cinema but beforehand decided to have some food. We booked a table at Tapas Revolution in Meadowhall. On arrival, we were greeted by Polite and friendly staff who showed us straight to our table then gave us some time to make up my mind on drinks which when ordered came to the table promptly they then proceeded to give Advice on what dishes to order as we had never really had tapas before the dishes that arrived were fantastic quality and were all delicious We were never without a drink when we wanted one all in all a fantastic meal friendly staff and great restaurant would happily go back again. Well done to the two girls that were on. And the chef for all their hard work and making it an enjoyable experience. Will definitely be back again

I absolutely loved my trip to tapas in meadowhall after a long day at work. The food was a 10/10, full of flavour and presented beautifully. The service was excellent, and I have an overall pleasant experience.

Absolutely awful!! Food not too bad, but very expensive for what you get.. service terrible. The place was nearly empty which is why we went in because everywhere else was full (kids easter holidays). Now we know why. We will definitely not be going again that's for sure!!!

Shocking since new manager took over he as not not a clue, went 1 day had the food it was shocking, went with a family member again just for a drink 3 members of staff saw us sit down but still ignored us as we sat at the bar, sat the 10 mins, in the end we left and the staff still didn't even move from messing around,, never again!!!!

Ok, so the foods not great however called in because of the all you can eat offer for £22.95 Ordered 3 dishes each initially which didn’t amount to £22.95 if they’d been ordered from the main menu but when we asked for further dishes, they never arrived. After half hour was told there was a problem with the oven despite other customers being served and eventually we had to leave as it was clear they were not going to bring the food. Was still charged full amount and staff were pretty rude If you’re planning on eating from the all you can eat menu be aware you will only be allowed 3 dishes so be aware of the price as it’s probably cheaper eating from the main menu As for the food - there are much better restaurant options and definitely much better tapas restaurants

I popped in on a win when doing some last-minute birthday shopping, Fantastic atmosphere, and My server, (sorry, I didn’t catch your name )explained everything to me and was very warm and extremely friendly, Recommend ❤️ thankyou so much

Honestly, this is the worst tapas I've ever had in my life. All microwaved frozen rubbish. Bland, tasteless food . It was the first and last time I've been. They forgot one of the dishes , then added a service charge without notice , so that got quickly removed. Never again

Don't. That's it. Don't bother. I came for the croquetas de jamon and decided to push the boat out and have the all you can eat tapas for £22:95. The croquetas should be soft and yielding bombs of cheesey, hammy delight. Not here. What looked like stale dried out pastry breaded and fried till partially cooked - the flour was still raw. Solid and heavy. I cracked open each one to be greeted with a arid block. When I returned them the response was "sorry they're not to your taste"! I cannot see how they would be to anyone's taste. At a chain restaurant I don't expect total ethnic accuracy. But I do at least expect edible. The bite I tried has totally turned my appetite off and instead I'm giving up and going home. I don't have confidence in the kitchen to pick anything else off the all you can eat menu. The calamares fritos are fine as are the patatas bravas and the bread platter. But I was looking forward most of all to the two kinds of croquetas they offer.

So the food was nice, Service was ok. One member of staff was wearing an essentials hoodie which is not very professional and just abit off putting. Thought I was having lunch in footlocker at first when she brought my food over. The Gent was lovely however yes, Unfortunately the ladies uniform was not something I deem as presentable.

Quite a shock on our visit today. Was one of our favourite tapas restaurants for the last 4-5 years but haven’t been since last summer, and wasn’t pleasant on this visit, we were so disappointed. started with 3 dishes; Jamon croquettes( definitely not nice, they used to be Delicious,Prawns in garlic and chilli oil(no garlic or chilli, very bland,) and the Pan Con Tomate which used to be sublime was just grated tomato- no seasoning, no garlic and no oil. Terrible. The waiter was the same and I asked if it had been taken over but wouldn’t say other than a different chef. The previous female chef that’s been there for the past 4-5 yr has left.. there’s your answer. They need to get a chef who can deliver good quality Spanish dishes. Cannot see this lasting any more which I really didn’t want to say.

Awful. Just don’t bother. A lot of the items were unavailable and those that were, weren’t worth it. All microwaved or deep fat fried. Overpriced and inedible.

I ordered some kind of bread. With olive Oil Vinegarette dip. And garlic mayo. The breadth was just about edible with the vinicette. But the garlic mayo What's just out of a bottle. And I also ordered seafood piella. All I could see at the side of me where the little kitchen was. The guy was warming the food up in the microwave. The muscles and prawns they was like rubber I could not eat my seafood piella

Great waiting staff, who sadly have to deal with 7 or 8 items missing from the menu, very low quality food. The price for the food was outrageous. Microwaved

If only I had read the reviews first!!!!! It didn't start well, Are you open? Hold on, Dad, are we open? Shown to a table and then told they could not serve an Americano as the hot water machine has broken. We ordered whilst I set off to get a take away coffee elsewhere. When I returned I was told one of the items ordered was unavailable. When the food arrived it was poor. I was surprised that teh olives were invisible under a pile of caraway (?) seeds. The tomato salad had something strange on it and tasted odd. The gambas were over spiced and the tortilla was bland at best. We paid and left. The waitress was faultless but only arrived half way through the meal. Very disappointing even at two for one on the mains. At full price I would have objected. We certainly would eat anywhere elsewhere.

Great food and brilliant service from Marcy, she knew the allergies so well and helped us order. I would highly recommend.

I had churros over here and it’s worst experience

Had a great lunch here. Our first visit and I doubt on tis experience it will be our last. Food was excellent. We had the set Tapas meal , which for ,I think was £36 for two was good value. Wonderful waitress Abigail. She really looked after all the customers in the restaurant so well. She must be a real asset to the company and deserves a "Shout Out ".

We came for lunch and spent 10.95 on this dish (image below) 3 pieces of stale ham sprinkled with some crackers. I think that's self explainatory. The burger (not pictured) was dry and the meat was obv stale. The chips as you can see are really dry and bland. Huge warning to anyone who comes here, its really a waste of money! edit: - we were almost charged for 2 more things we didn't have (we cancelled the orders but they left it in when they were billing us) So check your bill too folks

Went to Tapas Revolution in Sheffields Meadowhall and its was extremely disappointing compared to the last time we were there. The Belly Pork was back on after being taken off the menu but it was different as one of the mojo sauces had been taken off and it was on a chickpea base - disappointing and you should revert back to the old recipe. The Croquette Jambon were overcooked and dry and the prawns were bland even though they were in a garlic sauce!! The Chorizo was also not up to its previous standard for some reason. I think we have decided that we won't be going back sadly!

Lovely food which makes it a 3 star but they're never taking tables when you ask, we booked a table and they never let us know their oven broke so we had to go elsewhere yet we drove an hour to get here. They never ask if your food is ok and they always put a high service charge on the bill and don't like it when you refuse to pay it. Food is expensive but nice

Went for dinner after a bit of shopping as it was recommended to me. Got a table straightaway but had to treck to the public’s toilets as they didn’t have their own. Was disappointed with the amount of dishes not available & we couldn’t have the Xmas menu as we didn’t book! Staff were very friendly & attentive. Overall thought it was over priced for the set menu for 2 @£36.95 as the portion sizes were tiny & why would you just give 5 meatballs? Definitely wouldn’t go back.

As others have said AVOID you work too hard to eat such awful food. We had a set meal for 2. The calamari was chewy, cold, and anaemic looking, the tortilla sloppy and cold,sliced chorizo on mayonnaise (everything was served with a cheap dollop of mayo) sickly, the 'balls of grey cartridge' were foul. The sparkling water was nicely chilled and aided the swallowing of the little we ate. I've awarded 1 star for the water.

Absolutely disgusting £88 the paella was just rice literally worst meal I've ever had plus got charged 12 quid for service and they didn't even know what beer they served

Awful. Just awful. Avoid at all costs. This place is just horrible. So much food not in stock, drinks tasted bland, we had to send the food back because it was cold. The chicken came out pink, had to send that back too. The food just tasted stale and old. Then to top it off, we found a hair in our food, which they accused us off. We refused to pay part of the bill and they were so rude. Such poor service, waiting staff are rude aswell. Don’t go here.

Absolutely the worst over priced meal I have ever had!! Food arrived luke warm and over cooked after waiting a long time and service staff no where to be seen or even ask if the food was OK even on getting the bill. Would NOT recommend and watch out for the service charge that is not clearly visible to be seen any where.

Meadowhell was rammed to busting, decided to pay a bit more so we could sit down, had the Especial set menu for two, £36.50, two drinks were £14, so mid range cost wise. Food came after 30 minutes despite it being quietish, they didn't have any San Miguel so I had another type of beer. Fairly tasty and just about enough for two. Then came the bill, they charged me for both beers and added a £7 service charge. After querying the charge they removed it, but I could of done without the embarrassment. They also refunded the beer that I never had, the final bill was £50 which I thought was not really VFM.

Overpriced, overpriced overpriced

Lovely atmosphere, calm, kind, friendly. Our young servers were both incredibly attentive and ensured our food and service was up to par, which is most certainly was! The food was clearly freshly prepared, unlike some tapas restaurants we have experienced. We were visiting from Newcastle so didn't know the centre at all but were very impressed with the entire service we received. Thoroughly recommended. If you have a sweet tooth, then try the churros with chocolate dip. Wonderful! 5* from Newcastle!

Absolutely terrible experience. Was sat down for ten minutes before needing to ask someone to order drinks, despite being told someone was coming straight over. Ordered food at the same time, two big mains not available, only three mains on the menu! All ordered the same dish, four people. Drinks arrived after another fifteen minutes. Then was told that they only had one main available and three of us needed to order something different. We had been in the restaurant over thirty minutes by this point. Decided to leave and was still charged for the drinks, despite it not being our fault that we couldn’t order food. We had asked twice for the music to be turned down or turned off, as it was far too loud to talk to each other, told this couldn’t be done. Male staff member, sniggering and very unprofessional. Will not be returning and I’d avoid at all costs.

Fantastic little place to stop for tapas the staff are extremely friendly and very helpful and to say meadowhall was busy the tastes of the food just took the hustle and bustle away absolutely fantastic tasting dishes everyone of them,this is my third visit and I know we will be back again soon ❤️

Food wasn’t anything special, we ordered a tablas de montadillos looking forward for some good garlic bruschetta topped with prawns and we got rubber bread with rubber charred prawns. Complained with the staff and apart from one of the two waiters who asked what went wrong the other one really looked like he didn’t give a monkey s*t (sort of: at the end of the day imma gonna get my salary anyway… attitude). The croquetas weren’t bad but as said not the Spanish experience the place would like to advertise. One personal note about the music background: the reggaeton music was absolutely annoying. There’s a plenty more Latin music to choose from…. And by the way reggaeton is not even Spanish.

Absolute disgrace , We were shown to our table where they took our drink order , 10 minutes later they came to take our food order only to be informed at the time of ordering that out of the 6 items we wanted 3 of them were unavailable, (should have told us upon entering the place ) , regards the drinks , we ordered a pint and a lager shandy to only be charged for 2 pints and it stated 2 pints on the receipt, seems to me they are making things up as they go along , therefore I paid for my drinks and left … will not be using this place again EVER …

I was here a few times a year ago . it's not like it used to be , now it's a complete abomination . fried old disgusting potatoes heated in the microwave , tough disgusting cold beef that I almost choked on . or they heated it insufficiently in the microwave ? they spoiled everything they could . the sour faces of the waiters say it all , it was my favorite food when I went to that shopping center , now it's in the past . then I think it was more full plate than now half empty and the sauce was served separately

Decided to give this ago with the wife wish I'd not bothered my wife ordered the chicken wings halfway through eating them found long hair's wrapped round some of the chicken wings nearly made her sick 😫 food pretty average for the price will definitely be giving this place a miss in the future

Having been regular patrons since Tapas Revolution opened in the U.K., we were horrified at the sad decline of it's ‘authentic’ Spanish tapas during lunch at their Meadowhall restaurant in Sheffield today. Formerly there were Spanish chefs and Spanish waiting staff who knew how to cook and serve their tapas - in Spain a chef and waiter are classed as skilled workers. Now there were no Spanish origin staff and the difference was immediately apparent. Not a good start. When the seafood paella arrived we queried it with the waiter asking if he’d delivered the right plate - it was a tiny portion of bright yellow rice with a few tiny morsels of diced prawn and squid. The flavour was difficult to describe, but as frequent visitors to Spain over the last 25 years, it sure wasn’t even related to a Spanish paella. A former shining star for us was chorizo in cider but today we were presented with some undercooked chorizo slices atop almost raw potato slices and a split white substance (cream? Cream cheese? No idea). The tortilla was bland and devoid of seasoning. Whilst the calamari was cooked nicely it was presented with a tomato salsa and aioli which clashed terribly. After paying the full bill of £57 including a service charge (not fair to penalise the waiter - he didn’t cook it) we asked to speak to the manager. The bearded and heavily tattooed ‘manager’, from England, who may also have doubled as the chef, wasn’t in the mood for any form of apology and merely said that they hadn’t changed the way the food was prepared and that we had eaten most of it. So, rather than argue with him, we felt this review may have more impact. Sorry Tapas Revolution, but you've lost a former regular customer and our family. No longer can you claim an authentic Spanish experience.

Service charge added to bill which wasnt obvious when ordering. So a rip off as far as im concerned . Perhaps thats why we were only ones in there at the time !

No one knew what the dishes were, so no one could explain anything to us, the food took a long time to arrive and when it came out it was luke warm and came in dribs and drabs, so you couldn't enjoy the meal as a whole, also the aubergine dish actually tasted like vomit and the meal was very expensive at £75 for 2 people.

Wow! Just awful! £8.95 for a warm Paella, 3 mussel, 2-3 diced squid, quarter of lemon, this kind of factory made food shouldn’t be on the table, throw them in the supermarket freezer please! I know it’s cheap, I would rather pay £40 for a real Paella, at least served with hot plate. Compliments on the orange juice, as it’s supposed to be: juice and ice.

Food was great and staff friendly. Only 4 stars though because we ordered drinks when the food arrived, but they didn't arrive until about 10 minutes after we had finished eating. I put this down to the restaurant being very busy at the time

It's okay. Staff were attentive and the food was okay, but not the quality is should and could be. The 12.5% service charge is excessive and not clearly visible (if at all) in the menu before ordering.

So i find it astonishing that you can charge the same for Diet Coke and Normal Coke that's insane, the food is very average, I couldn't believe the price of the bill especially knowing that the food is microwaved, daylight robbery!

Came here for lunch whilst shopping; really recommend the pornstar martini, and the tapas dishes were really good (albondigas, patatas bravas and bacalao especially) but the desserts were rubbish; £4.95 for one small scoop of ice cream and £6.50 for reheated churros. Service was good; the person attending us agreed the ice-cream portion was sub-standard. A shame really, as the tapas was good.

Beware the restaurant that doesn't ask you how your food is! Sorry to say this was one of the worst meals I've ever had. Only ate here because we needed to eat before a gig at the Arena (Pulp - phenomenal!) - wish I'd checked the Google reviews before I chose this place. Everything was microwaved (we were near the "kitchen" and heard it ping constantly), tortilla wet and tasteless (potatoes had black bits throughout), pork belly was 5 tiny slices of dried up, unpleasant tasting pig, chorizo dish was the best of a very bad bunch but still not cooked well - flabby and soft instead of crunchy thanks to its blasting in the microwave. Squid rings obviously frozen, half of them still stuck together in a rubbery, battery mess. Four tiny croquetas - two mushy inside, one dried out, one completely empty, it was so overcooked 🤣 Tiny drinks for the money paid. Miserable looking staff (including Spanish staff who must die a little every time they think about what they do for a living). We should have complained but we were late for our gig and needed to eat something (and quite frankly we just wanted to get out of there) - there also seemed to be no point because the staff were so inattentive and unmotivated. Finally, and somewhat hilariously, the website shows gorgeous Spanish looking chefs cooking gorgeous Spanish food served by gorgeous Spanish looking waiters and could not be further than the truth. I know it's a chain, but so is Pizza Express and they do it brilliantly.

This is a shining example of high street robbery, bland microwaved food, sloppy or overcooked, nothing is actually cooked here, squid rings were a pile of half frozen clag and the pork belly was wafer thin dried up salty bacon. the drinks prices are extortionate £9 for a small glass of wine and no choice of draught beer.. but £5 for the smallest beer possible. The staff either didn’t care or were too embarrassed to ask how the food was. All in all a disappointing experience I wish never to repeat.

Avoid this place at all cost, nothing here is cooked and what is served is bland, dried up or sloppy, £9 for a small glass of wine and £5 for a small bottle of beer, the food was inedible, squid rings were a half frozen lump of clag and the pork belly was over salty and dried up. The food is just warmed up or microwaved and brought in from an offsite supplier. And the sting in the tail is 12.5% service charge for being ignored or served wrong food. Do yourself a favour and just avoid it.

There are far better tapas places for value, choice, taste, service and atmosphere. Wasn't horrendous but definitely not worth the money, the compulsory service charge of 12.5% is high and not informed about beforehand.

Friendly staff. Short staffed. Terrible sevice. Got order wrong twice then charged bill wrong AND added £5 service charge. So we had to get the bill reduced. Oh well. Wont go there again. Staff MUST know what's on the menu and, just as importantly, what's NOT on the menu, WHEN they take the order.

Good helpful service, food was acceptable, putting tapas dishes together soon builds the price up.

We tried to visit here today, the staff were stood talking to each other and after 5 mins of us standing there we were told we would have to wait 30 mins as they aren’t ready for guests and the place was empty, this is at 5.00pm on a bank holiday Monday

Went with some friends for a catch up. It felt was rushed, not very hot food, expensive for the size, given the bill before requesting. Staff weren't very friendly. Wouldn't eat here again or recommend

Considering the cost vs portions size and at the time an expired liquor license (apparently they forgot to renew it?), No ham to be found in the croquettes and the server not nothing to come up to us before the kitchen closed for last call... Food itself was tasty but that's about it.

Called in here today - no queue. Lovely staff very efficient and friendly. Prices were a little steep but food was quite nice. A couple of things on the menu weren’t available which is always disappointing- especially when this was a lunchtime and not late...

To be in the middle of quick food eateries in meadowhall, this was totally unexpected and Brilliant. Well done guys.

We have tried this restaurant before and it was lovely but will not be returning. A waitress noticed we had been given some of our food and told our waitress we didn't have a plate or knife and fork to which she just shrugged and carried o with other tables we didnt see her again at our table. I then had to ask another waiter for the cutlery and plates. By the time we started eating the food was freezing. We ate whay we could of the bread potatoes and mushrooms before the meatballs arrived. The 2nd meat dish didn't arrive. When it came to the bill I told the waiter we had a meal missing but he still bought the receipt which included the missing dish. I asked to see the manager who didn't come instead the waiter took off 5 pound. There was a service charge added to the bill which was not deserved. We spent 43 pound and walked away hungry Awful service. Another customer had oil spilt on her coat by the waiter she asked for a cloth and he walked past me giggling and making funny noises.

Delicious food, & took us back to Spain for an hour as we love trying different tapas when on holiday. Service was excellent & would recommend people to try them.

We normally love tapas revolution but were extremely disappointed by this trip. The food is usually great but this was very poor. We saw multiple complaints by others also and so much food was being wasted and thrown into the bin in front of our eyes. Firstly the waiter gave us 2 wrong dishes and had to go get the correct ones on two occasions and then we got the food. The Patatas bravas sauce was congealed and the green salad was watery and was very little of it. It made me feel sick, we had another booking for 2 days later but cancelled due to this. We told the waiter about the issues but he did nothing. We paid a lot of money for a very poor experience, disappointed.
