Rowsha in Sheffield

We had an excellent experience at Rowsha. The food was amazing and the hospitality was lovely. Thank you to the chef (FADI).

Awful. Over cooked meat. Tiny salad. Dried up ‘fatoosh’. Meanly portioned. Dry.

Was looking so forward to this as last time it was beautiful , nice but just standard this time

I have always enjoyed food from here in the past but today it was inedible. Tasted of old oil and lots of it.

Afforable. Nice and quiet. Always lovely service. Clean and pleasent. 100%recommend.

Tasty food and good customer service

So basically, we ordered food from here through deliveroo app and the shawarma literally had two small grilled chicken pieces in it.It was sticky and sour. The mixed grill portion size was very small, and the chips weren't fried enough; they were soggy. Additionally, the shawarma lacked basic vegetables; it only had some lettuce and onion. The Kunefe dessert also didn't meet the standards; it was not properly warm. The food was cold as well. Overall, it was the worst experience, and we had guests, so it was a total shame. We won't order from here anymore; we've had enough. The quality and quantity are not satisfactory.

So basically, we ordered three meals - one dessert, kunefe and mixed grill and Chicken Shawarma through deliveroo .I've had Chicken Shawarma many times before from Turkish and Lebanese restaurants, but this was the first time I encountered such a terrible one. It wasn't properly cooked and only had two pieces of chicken. The lack of basic vegetables made it feel more like a wrap, devoid of spices or sauce. It was sticky and sour. The mixed grill wasn't cooked well, and the chips were soggy and it costs like 12.28 pound and it was not worth for the money and the quality and texture was not good. I could only eat the kunefe dessert and bin the rest . Overall, it was a terrible experience, so I contacted them to complain. It was a total shame, and I won't be ordering from there anymore.

Food didn't arrive. Called restaurant to see if they'd heard anything from the driver and they said its my problem. I know they only make the food and don't deliver but at least they could have checked to see if there was anything they could do.

Disappointing. Last time we ate here the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. The same cannot be said now. The staff didn't appear to know the menu and tried to clear away plates whilst we were eating the starter. I ordered a dish with oven baked cubes of lamb and was given instead a fried lamb mince dish - no explanation or offer to change it.

We’ve been here several times before & the food has never disappointed. The restaurant may have been a tad disappointed they had only two tables full the evening we were there, but a cold Thursday night in early February is never going to bring out the crowds. All 4 mezze dishes we had were top quality - a wonderfully creamy moutabal (aubergine) dip, Jenny’s meatballs (maybe a touch on the dry side), some generously-filled spinach boureks, and a rich and juicy mussaka (think aubergine and pepper and tomato casserole), and along with a basket of flatbreads and two large glasses of Lebanese Cabernet Sauvignon left us feeling replete. Very reasonable prices too, some excellent Middle Eastern music playing quietly in the background to conjure up the tight atmosphere, and we had exactly the meal we wanted. Just hope that enough others keep supporting Rowsha’s, which has been here a long time: the quality of the menu and the atmosphere deserve wide recognition.

some dishes were over cooked like kufta , malfuf were good 👍🏻 taboula was not good very dry and small portion 👎🏻, cheese pie and waraq enab are not good😿

It was not expected at all , good amount only three pieces for 7 pounds . The number of pieces not mentioned so we surprised three small pieces for 7 pounds . Good quality is below below expectations . I am very disappointed.

Food tasty enough and portion size was okay but you probably need to know a bit about Lebanese food to get the best out of the menu. Ordered white wine on our 2nd visit which was nice and warm. Probably best to stick with the red or lager.

Very friendly, good service, delicious food. We went for a multitude of small dishes to share. All were good and tasty, loads were absolutely delicious. We shared Lebanese cheese dessert and I had a Lebanese coffee - really lovely.

Been here lots of times both eat in and takeaway. Every dish a delight (especially love the Fattoush, broad beans and Chicken livers!!) Reasonable, friendly. Fantastic!!

Great meal, had set meal for 4. Plenty of choice and very nice Lebanese wine. Very reasonably priced £95 for 4 people. Would not hesitate to go back. Also very pleasant waitress. Thank's for a great night.

I spent 30 pounds on an order and it never came. I'm really appalled by this restaurants service. Since it didn't come they owe me 30 quid.

Food was great but service could be better. We were the only people eating in but had to keep chasing for service. Also they had no ice bucket for our bottle of white wine to keep it cool so felt rushed to drink it. I get the feeling they only want to do takeaway service.

Came in last night booking of 8 people waited an hour for food ordered mixed grill lamb was very chewy waitress didnt even bother asking us if we wanted anymore drinks we had to keep calling her over

I've lived in Walkley for 4 years and today was my first visit to Rowsha. I went with my best friends, we didnt book. We sat next to the fish tank which kept us amused. We ordered 8 hot/cold mezzes with a bottle of wine to share. It came to just under £60 between 3 of us. We are so full and satisfied! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was absolutely delicious. Definitely will be coming back.

This restaurant has everything. Lovely food, we had meze and puddings but the main courses look great too. Very friendly, attentive staff. Beautiful, authentic atmosphere - lots of dark wood and gorgeous lights and even the music was authentic. Reasonably priced too - under £70 for 4 of us. Definitely worth a visit

Excellent food. Delicious and it hadn't been sitting long. The estimated delivery time was 1925 - 1945. It arrived at about 1830. On this occasion, it suited us well for it to be early.

Our chosen evening was quiet with 4 tables occupied. Our tastes were for meat fish and vegetarion. Although choice for vegetarion mains were few the range of starters extensive so on balance ample choice for vegetarian. Lamb dishes were popular with us. Portions generous. Service friendly prompt and welcoming. Take away service had been a dissapointment once in lockdown but our in house experience was superior and we will return.

What lovely food and a warm cosy welcome too! The arayes were some of the best I've ever had as was the moutabal. Rice was also worthy of mention. Soft, fragrant, and tasty. I liked the kofta as well. Plus a good selection of juices (as well as alcoholic beverages) if you're driving or abstinent. What a little gem of a place!

Delicious. Bourak were empty and disappointing. Portions are noticeably smaller than before.

Poor food quality. Rice was hard, and meat was not well cooked. Portion was too small for price. Will not order again.

The last time we came here was several years ago and the restaurant is much more attractive now - twice the size, warmer and cosier even on a freezing winter’s night, that distinctive Middle Eastern music playing quietly in the background - while the food is as delicious as ever. We shared some spicy mutabal to start, with flatbreads to dip. And then Jenny moved onto a generous plateful of what she was wonderfully tender chicken and rice. I opted for a selection of hot mezze dishes, always my favourite: mujadarrah, a classic combination of lentils and rice topped with crispy fried onion, ful medamas (Egyptian-style field beans in a hugely garlicky and lemony sauce) and spinach and cheese bourak or borek, crispy pastry parcels. They were the only slightly disappointing fish, I thought - I’ve had versions made with filo pastry and they’re rather lighter. A great mezze combination though. Good service from the helpful young Syrian waiter, a fine value meal and in a nice atmosphere- we were very happ, and it’s great to see Rowsha’s thriving.

Is there a new chef at Rowsha?! We’ve been ordering from here for years but the last couple of times have been a bit disappointing 😞 The portions are smaller, the meat drier and not as well seasoned. Such a shame as this has always been one of our favourite places to order from! Plus tonight the food was late too. Bring back the big foil trays, generous portions and super tasty, perfectly cooked meat please!

South Road, Walkley may not be the culinary centre of Sheffield, but Rowsha is worth the trip. Excellent food, like home cooking - which is a huge plus from me - with loads of choice. We shared several mezze, all of which were very good. Mains were as good, if not better. Our waitress was lovely, efficient with a friendly smile. We'll be back!

Delicious food.. Great staff. The Just eat App let Rosha down.... but the staff sorted my food out on 2nd attempt at ordering and Delivered with a smile! Belly full.

Very nice meal, a bit dry and we ate it with home made yoghurt with onion, cucumber and sumac. I've eaten in your restaurant but felt the take away was over priced although I do appreciate the price of lamb! Please don't send sachets of mayonnaise and ketchup offer, offer as an extra. I threw ours away.

Generaly the food was alright. The fish not worth the money £14 for sayadiah with chips (two pcs Salamon). The kenafah was dry with no enough pistachio. Not ordering them again.

Gr8 food with a humble smiling staff. Clean place & clean toilets too. Their mode of payment is cash only as they don’t have any credit card machines active today but I don’t mind it as if gave the staff heavy tip as food was quickly served while hot with big portions. Can’t recommend strong enough for this place

Ordered takeaway from here half a dozen times. Each time it has been well cooked and tasty. The portions are quite generous and the delivery is usually quite fast.

Called to pick up a take away on my way home and the customer service was fantastic. My food was cooked fresh whilst I waited and was offered a drink by the waitress. A friend of the owner was really friendly and had good conversation whilst I waited for my food which was served hot. Very generous portion, delicious tender meat full of flavour and the rice was also very good. We have ordered from Rowsha a number of times during lockdown and will definitely be dining in soon now the restaurant is back open. Highly recommend - high quality, fresh food and exceptional service.

Beautiful meal really good sized portions too was really lovely. Compliments to the chef! We devoured it all no scrap of leftovers. Good food shared with a good friend in the garden - perfect. Vine leaves were hands down the best I’ve ever had and look forward to ordering again!

Rowsha's is a very good restaurant. We'll go back to eating there when we feel safe to do so.

They forgot to deliver one of the products

Had a take away last night. Guy on phone struggled to understand. Told me it would be 20 mins. Arrived on time. He hadnt started cooking. 30 minutes later, order was ready, but he didn't know how much it was. Had to call owner, so additional wait, while food cooled. When I got it home there was no rice or flatbread, tabbouleh and tzaziki missing ( not paid for). Quality of food is fine, but I won't be going there again

Great tasting food although it arrived a bit late

Our takeaway was delicious and arrived much earlier than expected! We will definitely order from you again and hopefully come for a meal when you reopen.

Fab food - really delicious. Will definitely order again. Both interesting and very well cooked. Only moan is that despite the estimated wait of 35 to 50 minutes, the confirmation came with a time 1hr 15 min later. Was just about okay on this occasion, but if feeding kids then need the ability to cancel / reject if it's later than estimated. Probably a Just Eat issue rather than the restaurant though.
