Best place in the area to get a haircut and a shave. Both guys are very professional and they give great advice. A family oriented business.

Unofficially the family barber. The owner is very polite and friendly. It's cheaper than most places and most importantly they understand what a person wants and does exactly that.

No te decepcionará.

The food was bland but salty. The lamb was overcooked, service ok. Curry was more like rice and chicken, no sauce. Salad was nice

Babylon was recommended to us by the B & B we were staying at. If they had not we would have looked at it and walked on. The service was excellent. Talking to the waiter we understood that it has recently changed management. The food was well prepared and presented. The spiced lamb I had was excellent. All bread was freshly baked. The menu has a good selection of traditional recipes at very reasonable prices. We had 2 courses each and could not finish it all, which was a great shame. We were offered the chance of taking it back with us which we unfortunately had to decline. Note they did not have a alcohol licence(check this may change). We were there to eat not to drink!!! If in the area again we would certainly return. Wish they would open in the Newmarket area.

I love this place, the staff are really friendly, the food is great, you can take your own drinks and it's amazing value for money. It really deserves to do well. The curries are very different from your average Indian but taste great. Out of the three sauces you can have with some dishes the Aubergine sauce is wonderful, as is the freshly made bread which you seem to get with everything. If you're hungry the mixed grill will sort you out, I prefer it to Zugma which is where people seem to go for mixed grills. You can even go have a shisha after you have eaten. 10./10

I have been using Babylon since it opened. They have always provided a quality service with a smile, courtesy and absolutely toptastic food at a very good price. They certainly tick all the boxes for me as I detest the homogeneous Americanised eating establishments which littler our great city. Due to the service and good food I have always placed recommendations to friends and colleagues. However...and this is quite concerning. The last two visits I have made encountered a plummeting drop in standards. On one occasion, the lamb was such a minute quantity I thought I may have to take up fantasy as a way to imagine a normal serving. The meal contained more bone and knuckle than it did lamb meat. I mentioned this to the waiter who just laughed. My recent visit was with my partner, sister and brother in law. Upon entering Babylon and taking our seat, we waited for exactly twenty six minutes before the waiter arrived to take our order, no explanation or apology was forthcoming. We noticed that the usual menu had been changed and the prices had risen dramatically. My partner is a keen vegetarian and usually orders the Daal meal. My sister ordered a lamb dish and my BIL ordered Jeera Chicken, requesting it to be mildly spiced. My meal was the mixed grill. Five minutes after ordering a different waiter came to the table to inform us that the vegitarian meal was not possible and the only alternative was a vegetable biryani, which she reluctantly ordered. Another 15 minutes passed by, before our meals arrived. The place was hardly busy so we were bemused and concerned as to the delays. We also noticed a large party of customers leave due to having to wait so long. The food arrived. I had no objection to mine, it was to standard and well presented but I did not like the price hike. My partners meal was not so good at all. Frozen veg placed in to a bed of rice and a soup sauce which was basically beans in tomato soup. The soup had to be returned due to it being quite literally cold. Not only was this a dire looking meal but extremely bland in taste and presentation which cost £6.95.The chicken jeera meal was so spicy my BIL found difficulty eating it. My sister complained that the Lamb was a little tough. We objected our concerns about the service and food to the waiter but he showed nothing but a slight fluster, not one smattering of customer care and certainly no discount for what amounted to a very unpleasant dining experience.Suffice to say, that this results in dissatisfaction and from now on in, we shall refrain our patronage of this establishment. PeteH.

a real breath of fresh air, totally different from the usual chinses/italian/indian restaurant's . comfortable seating, outside ,covered smoking area with seating, freindly, helpfull staff, great food well cooked and presented.i can really recommend the mixed grill, but it's no ordinary mixed grill this is a mixed KEBAB grill, well tasty and plenty of it.only real, draw back it is not a licenced restaurant but you can take your own tipple with you. or there are 2 good pubs with in a 2 minute walk for a beer or two either before or after you dine.this place relly isn't your average curry house

One of the best meals I've ever had! Lovely atmosphere in restaurant, great service too. The meal was simply amazing. I had the mushrooms and pancetta starter and it was so very tasty. Then my fillet steak was ullnof flavour and was cooked to absolute perfection, along with it's sauce. We shared a lovely bottle of house white, while others in my party enjoyed garlic bread, mozarella, pasta and a beautiful seabass dish. I really couldn't be happier about the food I ate.

Booked a family dinner, to celebrate a birthday. Friendly, polite & attentive staff. Good food and drink menu selection, opted for calamari to start and meatball rice for mains - with a keo. Everything went down a treat! Others had the mixed grill, moussaka, skepasti. Big portions, fair prices. Highly recommend!

I am so disappointed to write this review. I had hoped for much more given the reviews I read upon their window and walls. The service was good, the two front of house staff were pleasant and professional. Our wait would have almost been acceptable if the food had met an acceptable standard. All I can presume is that the current cook (certainly no chef) is new and inexperienced. The food wasn't particularly well presented. My meal was supposed to be spicey, and at over £20 a dish I already felt a little disdain towards it. But hey ho, not being one to judge a book by its cover, I dug in The first mouthful was not spicey in any way and to be honest, it reminded me of moist wood shavings, akin with those I used to clean out of my rabbits hutch as a child. Underneath the bland minced lamb, presented in the shape of a cross, not sure why? was some form of vegetables that I must presume was of their own design, being multi coloured but each individual strand tasting and textured exactly as the previous. The others with me had a Lamb Iskander, which usually would be one of my most favourite Turkish dishes, but I tasted theirs and to be honest it only added to my disappointment That too was bland, the meat was tasteless and even the water jug had more flavour than the sauce. None of the food actually arrived at the same time, which for a group of 4 was truly not good enough. The restaurant had three other customers, so not a busy night at all. If this is how they are when quiet,I would had to eat there at busy times. We learn as we go one. I certainly have no wish to return here. No empty plate photos this time. No empty plates.
