Matt and his team are fantastic !! I frequent his pub with my family often!! Nothing too much trouble!!! My wine is still reasonable too!!! Great atmosphere sat out in the sun or cosy inside in the winter 😀 highly recommended 👌

Love this pub. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. The food is good quality pub grub served with a smile We have dropped in a couple of times when out on our bikes. If we lived locally we’d be regulars. The only pub I know that serves Thatchers Spiced Apple cider, worth the 40 mile cycle ride to sample it 👍😀

Came for Sunday lunch with my family, all ages catered for from seniors to children, we were made to feel very welcome, service was great with the children served first and lovely staff.. we will be back soon

Awful service - unwelcoming staff - kids meal still frozen and dried up crudities - definitely not a child friendly pub despite the play area - or people friendly or dog friendly - shame as we had been before and had a great food and service - won’t be going again

Family of 4 on a Sunday. I had a sunday roast , husband mixed grill and daughter had mac n cheese and older son had a chicken sharer plate to himself . We all said one of the best meals we have ever had . Dog friendly and good price too and friendly staff.

Come in weekly, with a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and good value drinks, it's a great pub for a pint!

We visited on a weekday afternoon for a drink and a main meal. We were greeted and served promptly and took our drinks to the outside seating. This is a paved area with a kids' play area adjacent. For our food we moved indoors and used the Greene King app to order. Again, there was only a short wait and our food (scampi and lasagne) was served and was hot and tasty. Sport was on the TVs dotted around the pub and it was easy to watch for anyone interested but not intrusive.

Went twice during our recent holiday in the new forest. Highly recommend this lovely pub, service was excellent and so was the food. Great for families there's a play area and covered outside area plus spacious and comfortable inside

We really enjoyed our dinner at this place. The food was good and quite on the cheap side. The kids could play outside while we waited for the meal. And the lady who served us was super nice making the experience tops.

Five of us stopped for lunch here on one of our Thursday walks and we were all really impressed with the quality our meals. The price of the food and drink is seriously competitive (e.g. Thursday special - sirloin steak and chips £12!) but when you dial in the very pleasant staff it’s our new favourite place.

Can't beat this pub. Was near my grandparents house. We still have family nearby and when visiting we go out of our way to visit as lovely food, lovely staff especially Julie and Joe. Also great place for kids to play and relax. Very welcoming. We are from Essex as this is a must when we come down to Dorset/Hants.

We use this pub regularly and have always been made to feel very welcome. Just had lunch, burgers, the food was 5* as were the staff so friendly and accommodating will definitely return.

Joe was superb ,friendly and informative. food was hot ,tasty and reasonably priced .

Had a great meal yesterday service was easy to order and and as we booked was shown straight to our table, lovely menu and told roughly how long to wait which with us half an hour but turned up 10 minutes all food piping hot and that was 4 different dishes brilliant, there was no rushing to Finnish your meal great pub

Wow what a nice pub. Looked lovely from the outside and just as nice inside. Having looked at some of the pictures on the wall behind the bar, we got the feeling like the pub has been a family business for some time and dad and son were pictured. Nice friendly staff who were very sincere and accommodating. So we had two adult meals, chicken katsu curry and I had the ultimate sharer which was amazing ! Both the adult meals were fantastic and really good value. Out little one had what she usually had which was a burger meal. Although not a complicated meal to prepare, this one seemed to be put together and cooked really well and was enjoyed 100%. The adults didn’t have any puds as he were stuffed but the little one had ice cream and a brownie which really looked good and was a generous portion too. If I had had room I definitely would have had one of those too lol. All in all this pub had a lovely atmosphere and provided a really good standard of food and at a reasonable price too. We highly recommend this one!

This was the first time we visited in a few years. Easy disabled parking close to the front entrance. We were shown to a table that was suitable to accommodate a wheelchair. The menu was filled with some really nice meals all at reasonable prices. Both mum and I ordered the mixed grill with extra eggs on both. When our meals arrived we were surprised at how large the meal was. Both steaks were cooked exactly as requested and the other meats were of good size, moist and tender. If anything, I would have liked some mushrooms and beans, but we could not fault the meals in anyway. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and it was very clean. I don't know it's due a refurbishment but some of the furniture was tatty and has definitely seen better days. On the whole, lovely staff and atmosphere and outstanding food.

Our Server (Josh) was very helpful as was the Manager (Matt). Food service was quick and great value for money. Every time we’ve popped in, we’ve been looked after & will come again.

We bought friends here today, they loved the meal. Katsu chicken curry is just the best.

Went there with family. Ordered a steak, medium rare, came out absolutely beautiful.

We had called in for a light lunch. Sadly the food was not very good even after having waited 30 minutes for it to appear. The table we occupied needed cleaning, there were lots of sticky ring marks and the whole place looked very shabby. We won’t be rushing back. We understand the manager was on holiday, but this shouldn’t make a difference.

Unfortunately it wasn't open, when I went there, don't think it opened until 11.00hrs. The Elephant and Castle opens at 11.00hrs as well.

Stopped in for a drink while on a ride on the Castlemain trail. The pub had a good selection of beers, soft drinks and snacks.Found it odd that the pub didn't have bike racks when it is on a busy cycle lane. The pub was very popular with seniors as they are able to get 2 courses for £6.99.

We attend the quiz night on Thursday which is popular and the publican Matt makes the evening fun.

Decided to go out for dinner as they were offering a very good discount. Despite there being a football match showing on the TVs it was not that noisy, No wait for food. Husband had Hunters Chicken (without BBQ sauce) I chose a bacon blue burger with an additional SF chicken. No tomato. everything was as ordered, no problems with requested alterations.

My mother always insists on taking me and other family members to this pub for lunch. I do not understand why. Yes, the prices are cheap but the food is very mediocre and nothing special. One of our party ordered the lasagne. It wasn’t cooked properly. On questioning a staff member we were advised nothing could be done as this was how the food was delivered to the pub, rather than being cooked on site. The gents toilet had no soap to wash hands, this being a restaurant is unforgivable. I did report this to a staff member and was told they had a contractor who looks after this aspect. Hopefully, the staff member found some soap from somewhere until the contractor returned. I think this will be my last visit to the ‘Tap and Railway’ at West Moors.

Popped up to the Tap & Railways on my birthday as a treat from a family member , we both had the garlic cheese baguette slices although next time we decided 1 plate would be ample haha, i had the fish and chips the fish was lovely nice and crisp batter , soft cod inside and just the right amount of chips with it [some places pile them on , far too many] but you served it perfect thanks

Went for a meal and drinks 7 us use walk in .. excellent service great atmosphere very clean food arrived in good time highly recommended 2 mains for £13.95 =bargin !!

Usually good food, even if we could hear the chef swearing in the kitchen. But this time. The chicken came out dry. And when asked for a little more cheese, the chef insisted on charging us. Safe to say, we won't be returning.

Had family down from London, seven of us in total, everybody commented on what a cosy pub it is and the food was good quality and value for money. Lucky to have it on my doorstep.

A fantastic afternoon was spent at the tap and railway for my mum's birthday. The staff was really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing there was 19 of us and the food came out on time. Highly recommend

First time in here for a long time. Draught beer good price. On the day we went people had to wait quite a while to be served which was a little disappointing. Food was good and reasonably priced. Would visit again

We come in on a Friday for lunch with around 10 - 15 people. The staff are always pleasant and the food orders come out with no bother at all unlike other pubs in the area. The lady who waits the tables is always professional and friendly. The Seniors menu has some good value dishes.

Great way to see in the new year and good atmosphere

I haven't had a pie for over 20 years, but as the menu mentioned winning a 'Best Pub Pie' award, I thought I'd give it a go (beef and ale) and wow, it was wonderful. Rich Ruddles ale gravy, thick short crust pastry and genuinely melt in the mouth beef (no chewing required!). Plenty of fresh seasonal veg and a generous side dish containing rich, thick gravy. Very impressed.

Had our Christmas dinner here today party of six, Lovely staff and happy atmosphere, only veg we didn't enjoy but loads of turkey so perfectly cooked best I have ever had, two of our party had the steak and was cooked to perfection. All in all had a wonderful meal in a great place. Will be back

Quick easy lunch. Ordered veg meatball sub and chips, but turned out to be a cut up veg burger, I guess they ran out of meatballs! Overall still tasty, cheap and friendly staff. Would return.

Sunday lunch today was awful. One person ordered the two meat meal, one ordered turkey and one ordered macaroni cheese. The beef was meant to be cooked as their menu slightly pink, in fact it was grey and extremely tough. We sent it back and it came back with turkey which was totally smothered in gravy(which was very thick and strong) the sausage of pigs in blanket which we paid extra for tasted so totally wrong and ‘off’ I spat mine out. The waitress kept telling us that no one else had complained, which is basically saying we are being too fussy, actually don’t care if anyone else complained or not, if I am not happy with the meal I’m not happy. She did offer us a free sweet which we declined. I was totally disappointed with my meal and very surprised as I had been there many times and the food was always very good. We had in fact ordered another small meal as one of the party wanted a slice of beef and they could not supply that so we ordered another small meal, we returned that meal not touched as the beef looked grey and very over cooked. We were offered an alternative which we declined.

My wife and I regularly come to this place, we are treated with respect and all the staff are tolerant with our and our friends children, good family facilities, good ale and good food. Recommended

A wonderful pub and resteraunt. Can't praise it enough. Lovley staff and delicious food. The steak is always nice and their roast dinners are superb. Desserts are lovley too.

The food and service is very good. We were able to order from the table Via the app. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the peas. (You need to change the brand. Sorry) Apart from that a great evening and I look forward to going here again.

Had a lovely family meal. Dessert came out first which was odd, but got sorted. Brocolli was very dry and floppy. Other than that all meals and dessent were excellent

Had a quick weekend stop off in the area and popped in for dinner. Dog frriendly and staff were great.

Went today as we are on holiday in the area. We turned up very wet with our dog and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent as well definitely worth a visit.
