Great life music, quality sound, friendly bar staff, gigs are free and open to all and there are no unnecessary security guards. Students discounts accepted without any hesitation or discrimination.

I sometimes forget how lucky we are in Notts to have a dedicated alt/metal/rock pub that puts on free shows every Friday and Saturday. Surely they up the cost of their drinks to pay for the free music? Nope, reasonably priced drinks the whole night through. I've never had any trouble there, the crowds are metal loving, friendly folk out to have a good time. My sister - a single female - also feels safe to attend alone which says a lot about the welcoming and safe vibe the venue offers. Long live the Tap!

My partner and I sometimes find ourselves in here and it’s the best rock pub in Nottingham, maybe the whole country! The choice of drinks is good, maybe a wider range of vodka and gin wouldn’t hurt, but not to their detriment. Experiences are always top notch, and they’re all free which doesn’t hurt either! Keep up the good work Tap team, and hopefully see you soon!

Great little stop off before me and the Mrs went to see a gig over at rescue rooms! Really glad to see Guinness zero available! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely be back in future.

I was on a stag night in Nottingham and a pal and I were on our way back to our hotel when we heard Bodies by Drowning Pool echo behind us. Immediate about turn and into The Tap for a "quick drink". Very warm welcome from staff and regulars alike, even though we looked so out of place. Stayed for more than few and enjoyed a shuffle round the dance floor. If I lived over here this would be a definite haunt of mine.

I've been visiting Tap for years, either as a starting and finishing point to a Rock City gig night or when the Tap itself has bands on. There's always a great selection of ales and the bar staff always welcoming and friendly despite a usually packed and very busy bar! It's always a kind of rock community feeling in Tap and I've never once seen an ounce of trouble on the premises when I've visited.

Best staff, best atmosphere, best live music on a Friday. A real gem to the community. No complaints after 10 years!

The wife and I are HUUUUGE live music fans and this place rocks! Been a couple of times to see Rapture and Eddie and the Wolves, the bands were brilliant and the venue was perfect!

Dark and dank , Male dominated when we were there which didnt bother us Looked grubby and needed a good clean as it smelt musty and dirty and everything looked battered Smoking area out back where people sat on barrells but the people were nice

Excellent bar, was a little quiet on the Thursday but on the Friday Midnite City were playing and It was packed, could have done with more staff as one girl was trying to serve everyone. Especially with it being the Rockingham weekend. Amazing paintings on the wall which are for sale, a little to pricey for me though.

I have been frequenting the Tap N Tumbler for several years now and thought I had already written a review.

Staff are lovely here and there's always something different going off in here and lots of different bands playing.

Always a friendly welcome, great selection on the jukebox and reasonable drink prices. The staff are great and the DJ's cover all your favourite genres depending on the Saturday night that you go. Great live music venue too. Always a great night to be had.
