The Dim Sum were pretty good. I liked the xiao long bao and prawn bean curd cheung fun but they were warm not steaming hot. The chilli oils and sauce they gave us were nice tho. However, the roast duck and honey roast pork were pretty disappointing in flavour and portion. The egg fried rice was okay. Overall, the restaurant is really spacious and the waiters were nice but it will depend on which dish you order food wise.

The best salt and spicy Squid in China Town? Cooked to perfection and not too dry, lovely aroma and spice. This place always has Chinese guests, always a good indicator of authentic food. I went to Chinatown because I wanted to eat Chinese food, but at least there weren't any touts and the ratings were good, so I went there. There was something a little uncomfortable about the attitude of the manager or woman. Anyway... I don't think the amount of food is great for the price. Maybe the food we ordered was the problem, but what we ate was just so-so.

This is REAL Chinese not anglicised takeaway. 3rd visit for me and my friends because their dim sum is EXCELLENT. Not just the usual har how and siu mai...but yam croquette, black bean ribs with chilli n garlic, prawn & scallop... They have photos of most popular dim sum so you can point. Very good tea that compliments the food. Excellent, polite, prompt service. I got half a roast duck for takeaway. Yum yum. Came with small pot of totally delicious sauce. Good price. A discretionary service charge is included in the bill (but you can tip your server directly if you wish). Due to recent changes in the law, servers now receive their tips. It is illegal for management to keep it . Seating is very comfortable and spacious. You don't feel crowded even though it is often busy. Never been there in evenings so can't comment on that menu. But, the wise and hungry will go for dim sum which is (as far as I know between 12 and 5pm This is a high quality restaurant who care about their good reputation and behave impeccably. If you don't know - please take their advice...tell them your budget and likes/dislikes and they will help. The Chinese know what goes with what, what will enhance what. After all they've been around 4,000 years and many cultures owe their cuisine origins to the Chinese. 6 stars if I could give them.

Every time I want dim sum I visit Tao Tao Ju but this was the first time I visited since 2021 and to be honest, the price doesn't match the service anymore. Dim Sum dishes start at £7.50 (EACH) upwards (which is expensive compared to before) the taste was good but could've been hot. Didn't get the complete sauce selection on my table, just basic soy sauce. Service was okay but took forever to get the bill. There used to be more Cantonese speaking staff in there but all seem to be mainlanders now. The ladies toilet sink was not working as when we informed the staff they didn't offer a solution and no hand sanitizer. Overall we paid over £60 just for 6 Dim Sum dishes and pot of tea. I understand the prices for food in china town has gone up significantly and almost feels like a luxury to dine out these days but the only reason I used to come here was because I thought the price and service reflects the price but not this time.

Went on Christmas Day. The queue time is about 30 minutes. The meals are delicious but very expensive. Perhaps because it was Christmas, the price of each dish on that day was higher than usual, and there was a 15% service charge. In addition, the most recommended dish we ordered is the beef Ho Fun. The dim sum we ordered is a bit normal and not worth the price.

One of the few good authentic Chinese restaurants in China town! Tao Tao Ju is located in the alley next to the Burger and Lobster/W hotel. It is a Chinese joint with class and a very comfortable environment. Each dim sum costs £10.50 and the mains ranged approximately from 25£ and up. I must recommend the dim sum at Tao Tao Ju. It is very close to what you’d have in Guangdong, which is difficult to find in London. We ordered the classics such as Siu Mai, shrimp dumplings, beef tripe etc. We also ordered mains including Yeung Zhou fried rice and a fried udon. The fried rice looked different from what you’d find in China and Hong Kong but the flavour was still good! Tao Tao Ju is highly recommended if you are looking for an authentic and quiet place for some Cantonese classics. It is good for all settings and occasions.

Sin embargo, la comida de anoche no estuvo a la altura de lo que normalmente es, o más bien la parte principal de carne de barbacoa mezclada con arroz fue decepcionante. Ordered from here on Deliveroo and I have to say I was really disappointed. I’ve heard that the dim sum here is great and it’s a regular spot for a couple of my friends. We ordered some roast meat and noodles from this place and the cuts of meat we received were just fatty with barely any meat on. The crispy pork was soggy. The chow mein was dripping in oil and the portion sizes were abysmal. We received maybe 10 pieces of fatty meat for £18 which is ludicrous. We managed to get a refund through Deliveroo due to how disappointing it was. There are definitely a lot of better places to get great Chinese food from in London. 2 stars because it wasn’t totally inedible.

On our final evening in London, we decided to stroll through Chinatown in search of the perfect meal. By pure chance, we stumbled upon a large, airy restaurant that, while lacking a romantic ambiance, made up for it with an inviting space perfect for sharing a variety of dishes. Chinese cuisine is, after all, best enjoyed with an array of flavours shared amongst friends. We began with dim sum, and as each beautifully presented dish arrived, we simply couldn't stop. The flavours were exceptional, and the selection was vast, with every bite proving better than the last. I had to throw both dishes away as the strong bad smell had pervaded them. Deliveroo has refunded me for the meal but I really think you the restaurant ought to know about this. Without even an apology he brought us the missing dish, and they made us pay for an extra one. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant mistakes happen but shouting at customers is absolutely not appropriate !!!!!!!!

Worst deliveroo experience. Found a hair one of the baos, watered down sauce & when I called to ask to inquire about the order they shut me down before even checking they had the order lol. DO NOT ORDER from here. Also one of the baos tasted like soap lol. So gross.

They have hiked the prices up so much. They give the impression of being higher class than the rest but they are exactly the same. Don’t fall for it. Plenty of other great dimsum out there. Avoid.

This Chinese restaurant has consistently impressed me with its delicious cuisine. I've now been here three times, and each visit has been a delightful experience. The food is simply amazing, and I highly recommend trying the following dishes: * Prawn and Chive Dumplings: These dumplings are perfectly cooked, with a delicate balance of flavors. * Vietnamese Spring Rolls: Fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor, these spring rolls are a must-try. * Seafood Fried Rice: The seafood is cooked to perfection, and the rice is flavorful and satisfying. * Szechuan Pork: This dish is spicy and savory, with a perfect blend of sweetness. * A must try dish is their fried beans with minced pork not on the menu but you have to ask while ordering ! This is my favourite. If you're looking for authentic Chinese food in London this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Be prepared for a short queue as they are always buzzing with guests but surely it's worth the wait !

On all our previous visits we only tried dumplings and these were excellent by Chinatown standards. This time we tried other dishes- eg Tom yum and were not impressed. If you go there stick to dumplings).

Went early (around 5) after a matinee theatre show and got a table for 2 immediately. Got very busy by 6 with most people booked or having to wait in a long queue. We had set meal for 2 with soup and duck for starter and hot shared starter for 2. Really tasty and as others have said - dumplings are great!!
