Very kind staff and available for any customer request. The first ones we got were very good. The filling of the rolls was delicious but perhaps the outside was a little too greasy with oil. Average prices, always too high for us Italians.

The food is so tasty I ended up going there twice during my visit to London! Highly recommend the pad thai and shrimp and chive grilled dumplings. The cheung fun was good too but the plain peanut butter and hoi sin sauce one is too much for one person to enjoy. The prawn sesame toast is average, skip it.

Ordered from here on Deliveroo and I have to say I was really disappointed. I’ve heard that the dim sum here is great and it’s a regular spot for a couple of my friends. We ordered some roast meat and noodles from this place and the cuts of meat we received were just fatty with barely any meat on. The crispy pork was soggy. The chow mein was dripping in oil and the portion sizes were abysmal. We received maybe 10 pieces of fatty meat for £18 which is ludicrous. We managed to get a refund through Deliveroo due to how disappointing it was. There are definitely a lot of better places to get great Chinese food from in London. 2 stars because it wasn’t totally inedible.

Ma-po tofu has great umami. It definitely tastes different from Chinese mapo tofu and Korean mapo tofu. Overall, I really enjoyed the meal and would come back again. The har gow and siu mai were excellent, and the xiaolongbao was pleasant, though not a standout. On our final evening in London, we decided to stroll through Chinatown in search of the perfect meal. By pure chance, we stumbled upon a large, airy restaurant that, while lacking a romantic ambiance, made up for it with an inviting space perfect for sharing a variety of dishes. Chinese cuisine is, after all, best enjoyed with an array of flavours shared amongst friends. We began with dim sum, and as each beautifully presented dish arrived, we simply couldn't stop. The flavours were exceptional, and the selection was vast, with every bite proving better than the last. As we left, we couldn’t help but feel grateful for the serendipity that had led us to such an unforgettable meal—one that perfectly capped off our London adventure.

Food was served at speed within 10 mins off ordering, surprised by this, but food was nice and hot. The Thai chicken feet was the best, pork chop was too much vinegar. Not much favour with the crispy noodles with shredded pork. Chilli oil was not chilli. Overall pleased with dine experience with Tao Tao Ju. Well done to the management who I believe knows how to run a good and successful restaurant. Wet wipes/tissues after dine which is good.

Of all Chinese restaurants I’ve ever been this has been the best thus far. The service is outstanding. Although it was so loud that I couldn’t hear my thoughts, the quality of food overshadowed that minor thing. If given another chance, I’d definitely visit once again. We ordered dim sum and the quality is above our expectations. Their egg tarts wasnt very impressive but looks are deceiving. The egg custard is just right in texture and sweetness. The pastry is flaky but yet not oily. The cheong fun is also good with the right texture and thickness. Their fried carrot/radish cake is very yummy with lots of crunchy and sweet bean sprout that compliments the taste of the fried cakes. Overall, service is good, waiters and waitresses are very attentive and accommodating.

I love the fried carrot/radish cakes. Just the right texture and the bean sprout were crunchy and sweet. The custard buns were quite messy to eat but that is the fun part with lovely custard flavor that is just right. The pau texture is good too. Overall, we went back again and the noodles were good. Food was ok! after receiving a couple of dishes we realized that one had not arrived. after calling the waitress and asking about the dish she started shouting at us as we had already eaten it, after shouting at us she left and returned to us with a empty plate screaming and what is this? here was the food (luckily we had taken a photo of the food) after that she realized that she had delivered it to the table next to us. Without even an apology he brought us the missing dish, and they made us pay for an extra one. I ordered a takeaway through deliveroo. Unfortunately I found a foreign object in it. I ordered Singapore noodles and sweet and sour pork, the item was in the noodles, I nearly choked on it. Please see photo attached. It is a hard piece of white plastic with crenelated edges, around 3 by 1 cm. It has a foul smell to it. I had to throw both dishes away as the strong bad smell had pervaded them. Deliveroo has refunded me for the meal but I really think you the restaurant ought to know about this. The little food I ate made me feel very nauseous. I am really worried about what this item is and if it was covered in some kind of poisonous substance. I have emailed but had no response

This Chinese restaurant has consistently impressed me with its delicious cuisine. I've now been here three times, and each visit has been a delightful experience. The food is simply amazing, and I highly recommend trying the following dishes: * Prawn and Chive Dumplings: These dumplings are perfectly cooked, with a delicate balance of flavors. * Vietnamese Spring Rolls: Fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor, these spring rolls are a must-try. * Seafood Fried Rice: The seafood is cooked to perfection, and the rice is flavorful and satisfying. * Szechuan Pork: This dish is spicy and savory, with a perfect blend of sweetness. * A must try dish is their fried beans with minced pork not on the menu but you have to ask while ordering ! This is my favourite. If you're looking for authentic Chinese food in London this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Be prepared for a short queue as they are always buzzing with guests but surely it's worth the wait !

This place has a sentimental value to me. It use to be my dad's restaurant back in the late 80s. Called Fung Shing. Won numerous awards and recommendations from magazine and press for its Cantonese cuisine. Fay Maschler was a regular. You can actually still see the plaque on the external wall. I still have the Evening Standard Eros award for best restaurant in London sitting on my mantle piece. I use to wash dishes in the basement kitchen during my summer break for 10 hours a day. That's the real grind. Anyways back to the review. It was my friends birthday and we wanted dim sum after a few rounds of beers at the local Imperial pub around the corner at 8pm. Ground floor decor looks amazing. Gold and brown wood. Felt warm and cozy. (It use to be green back in the 90s) We sat upstairs which unfortunately was not furnished like the ground floor or as nice. Just plain white walls and plastic brown seats. So if you do go ask for a table on the ground floor. We ordered the classic dim sums and they came out fresh and hot. Har gaus is my test to see if t he place is any good. And it was over average. Good size Prawn and prawn paste inside. Missing the bamboo shoots which is a must. Siu mais were chunky cut pork. Taro mince fried pastries were good. Vietnamese spring rolls and the bean curd wraps were All over average. The tripe in black bean and chilli needed more time to cook. Was still chewy and still had that stale offal smell and taste to it. 4/5. Room for improvement. Service was efficient. Waitress recommended dishes from menu if needed. I think it's the only place if you want late night dim sum. In Chinatown.

Not just the usual har how and siu mai...but yam croquette, black bean ribs with chilli n garlic, prawn & scallop... They have photos of most popular dim sum so you can point. Very good tea that compliments the food. Excellent, polite, prompt service. A discretionary service charge is included in the bill (but you can tip your server directly if you wish). Due to recent changes in the law, servers now receive their tips. It is illegal for management to keep it . But, this is a high quality restaurant who care about their good reputation and behave impeccably. If you don't know - please take their advice...tell them your budget and likes/dislikes and they will help. The Chinese know what goes with what, what will enhance what. After all they've been around 4,000 years and many cultures owe their origins to the Chinese. 6 stars if I could give them.

Saturday lunch, the restaurant was empty - unsurprisingly as it turned out. We ordered prawn crackers, a quarter crispy aromatic duck - ok-ish but nothing special. The crispy pork (Harbin signature dish) was dry and tough. The steamed prawns in their shells were vastly overcooked: dry, rubbery and flavourless. Both main courses (at c. £23 each) came with no vegetables, just the protein. The prawns were served with some vermicelli. The egg fried rice was £6.50!!! We complained about the mains (especially the prawns). The waiter said he told the chef, who replied that that's how the prawns should be! With a coke and a beer, the bill came to £90. On the plus side, the restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated. The toilets are nice and very clean. Unfortunately, the food is badly cooked and overpriced. We won't be going back.

We recently visited this place, and while we were aware of their minimum spend policy, the way it was enforced left a lot to be desired. Rules like that are understandable, but the attitude and approach of the staff completely ruined the experience. From the moment we sat down, the waiters made it very clear—almost aggressively—that we had to meet the minimum spend. Instead of explaining it in a welcoming or professional manner, they put so much pressure on us that it felt like we were being rushed through the whole experience. We had hoped for a relaxed evening, but instead, we felt hurried and watched the entire time, as though we weren’t welcome unless we ordered quickly and spent enough. It was uncomfortable and definitely not the kind of environment where you could unwind and enjoy your drink. What made matters worse was that they brought the bill to our table before we even finished our final drink. That came across as incredibly rude and dismissive, as though they were eager to get us out as soon as possible. It’s not the kind of service you’d expect from a place that markets itself as upscale. Speaking of marketing, the website portrays this place as a luxurious, refined venue, but it’s all smoke and mirrors. Don’t be fooled by the pretentious imagery and descriptions—they want you to think it’s something special, but in reality, it’s just a money-grab. They seem far more interested in turning tables and maximizing revenue than in providing a good experience for their customers. To top it all off, the drinks were mediocre at best. For the prices they charge and the vibe they try to sell, I expected far better. Unfortunately, it was all style and no substance. If you’re looking for a genuinely enjoyable, relaxed, or high-quality experience, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

My HQ whenever I visit London! You sometimes have to queue but their dumplings are very good! The prices remain affordable compared to other restaurants in Chinatown and it is very generous

We went for the bottomless dim sum offer and it was great value. However there's limited choice for vegetarians.

Antonio was immediately available and very professional. Excellent food, clean and well-kept environment. The service is also excellent. I highly recommend it.
