Super good. Very fancy Sichuan Restaurant. The food here today is delicious and the service attitude is also very good. I am very satisfied. I hope to come again next time!

Wonderful place for hot and spicy food in winter!

The restaurant environment is clean and tidy. The portions of the dishes are generous, especially the pickled pepper beef and twice-cooked pork, which are spicy yet delicious, and the rice is also quite fragrant.

Wow, I’ve been in London for so long and it’s my first time coming to this place! The pickled pepper bullfrog is so tender and tangy—I just loved it. The spicy chicken is bursting with flavor and the perfect level of spice! The milk tea is also smooth and refreshing. I’m definitely coming back for more!😆😆

I ate there on the night of November 10th and it tasted okay. But today I started to suffer from food poisoning after eating their delicious fungus. I had vomiting and diarrhea.

The food was really tasty, although a bit salty but still liked it. We got the small dan dan noddle soup, morning glory and pork belly. The service is really nice and fast. I would recommend!

SERVICE CHARGE SCAM!! Be careful. They will try to charge you service charge TWICE. This is the second time they have tried this. You ask for the bill and they provide a poorly written piece of paper with a number. I got them to confirm 3 times that service charge is not included. I then said I would only pay if they provided a printed list of items with prices. They were easily able to get this from the till. This showed they had already charged for service charge. AWFUL!!!!

After studying the endless restaurants of Chinatown, we ended up pushing the door of this establishment which apparently made no mistake, once inside the atmosphere transports you to the Sichuan region in China!!! For the dishes and in terms of "spicy" you are served, the chicken was succulent, like all the other dishes, the service is fast and organized, the bill is well deserved...

The spicy chicken at Er Mei s outstanding! The chicken is perfectly cooked, with tender, juicy pieces coated in a sauce that's both fiery and flavorful. The heat level is just right—not overpowering, but enough to give it a satisfying kick. If you love bold, spicy dishes, this one is a must-try. Highly recommend for spice lovers! The staff is welcoming and attentive, creating a warm atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

It’s delicious😋, the portion doesn’t look big, but it’s very filling and satisfying. It's really cold right next to the door. They wrote menus, helped with reviews and delivered drinks, but in the end nothing was delivered.

Thé food was horrible. We started the plates but we couldn't finish them because it was so disgusting. Plus it was very expensive.

Came here last night. Food was decent and the place was full of Asians - which is a normally a good sign, though not cheap. When settling up, the waitress asked if I wanted to contribute a tip (even though 12.5% service charge is added). I asked them to clarify if service charge was already added, to which the waitress replied that they don’t receive a share of the service charge fee. And as it happens, since this month (Oct 2024) it’s now a legal requirement for service charge to go to staff. So my gripe is probably more to do with management - unless the waitress was fibbing as a way to squeeze me!

The Sichuan-flavored beef is very spicy and delicious. The spinach soup base is made of preserved eggs and Sichuan peppercorns. It tastes very fragrant and the vegetables are very tender. The white rice is a huge bowl. Recommended for those who stay here 👍🏻

The aroma is fragrant, and the taste is fresh and layered. You can feel the unique spicy flavor of Sichuan cuisine in every bite, and it goes very well with rice. The spinach soup is refreshing and relieves greasiness, and adds a refreshing touch to the rich Sichuan cuisine. Both dishes were unforgettable.

I tried this restaurant 10 years ago and did not return as I thought food was pretty average. Having seen the good reviews here last night I decided to go back as I thought it might have improved. I ordered the grilled fish and did not even bothered to take a proper picture. Sea bass was small and very chewy and the chilli sauce is just salty, diluted and very much lack of flavour at £38. I think Jingli in Chinatown still serves the best grilled fish (last tried a year ago). I do not dine at Chinatown much these days as most restaurants have gone downhill and become very expensive. It is obvious especially comparing the fresh fish/ingredients served in restaurants like Wright Brothers to what I had at Er Mei…huge difference in quality.. ridiculous. Will never trust the review here and return to this restaurant ever.

The food is very authentic. It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten such authentic Sichuan food overseas. This time I tried the fish-flavored shredded pork and Maoxuewang. Will try other dishes next time

First time here, as we don't go to London often. My wife is Chinese, and I've been to China several times, and eat Chinese from the wife all the time We both agreed, the food was very good, and we had enough left over for a doggy bag We had sea spiced aubergine, water boiled beef, ma po tofu, fried noodles with beansprouts, and spicey fragrant chicken The beef was very soft, and the chicken was so crispy Will definitely be coming here again

Because I had children, I didn’t order spicy food. The spring rolls are fried well, very crispy, and the short ribs taste very European and American, with an orange flavor. The local three delicacies are very hometown, the others are so-so

The spinach soup is very sweet and delicious! The spicy chicken is delicious! The pumpkin pie is soft, glutinous, sweet and crispy on the outside! Come to eat next time!

The first time I got off the plane, I came to Emei immediately. The quantity is huge and affordable, and the dry-pot pork intestines are top-notch, and they are still so delicious! There is now an event to give out milk tea, please like 👍!

I came here to eat with friends and ordered bullfrog, chicken pot, green beans, and dandan noodles. It was really authentic and I basically finished them all. Highly recommend the bullfrog, very spicy.

The food was good, the reason this is not a lower score. Our service was below expectations. It was weird but still slightly understandable that they have a minimum spending of £15 for each person, but the attitude of not informing us first and then straight up turning his back and said no like about to kick us out, was some bs. Next time perhaps practice on your communication skill a bit more before someone actually walks out. Maybe you don’t care, but keep practicing like that, you might have to care one day.

Ordered rajogi and mapo tofu fried rice. Very delicious! Rajogi is a bit salty, but it’s okay to eat with fried rice! A delicious mapo tofu restaurant!

The service was so so bad, staff were rude

The food is great! It actually tastes really, really good! Really authentic Chinese food like this is really hard to find. The portions are such that it fills you up very well. A service charge will be added to the invoice. That's totally normal. It's also in the menu and you know what's going on. But it was strange to me that afterwards they explicitly and repeatedly asked for a tip. I thought that was included in the service charge…. but it is not. The service charge is there for everyone and you should give an extra tip for the waitress... we did that. But if you do that, you simply have to add 25% to the actual price. Still, it's worth it because it's really delicious! 🖖🏽

We were waiting in a queue and some known people (to them) came who got priority. The strange thing is they didn't have a booking as they asked us the waiting times. It is a true example of favouritism. The receptionist was very rude as we caught her lie. I will not recommend it as we should stop promoting these kinds of acts. I wish I could leave a review lower than this Sorry, I'm really disappointed.

Pretty nice place, but I wasn’t lucky to have a really dry chicken in breading. It was so dry that my jaw hurt from chewing it. I don’t want to come back but I hope other food should be good, because I see a lot of pleased people there. Payed 20£ for big portion of chicken and a bowl of rice

We had 4 people, but we didn’t have to wait for the table for too long. The food was very good with perfect amount of spiciness. The dishes are fairly priced and discounted dishes were also very good😉 It’s a perfect spot for Chinese food with friends! 🤩🤩

Excellent lunch here, and the best service we've had so far in central London. Tasty, quick and reasonably priced with good portion sizes. Spent about £22 each on a couple beers and a starter, main and rice to share. We had the pork and prawn wonton soup starter, and we recommend the stir fried beef with chilli and peanuts. The beef is crispy on the edges and tender in the center 😋

Beware ⚠️ They over charge you if you don't double check your bill. When the bill comes it's the total amount and not the breakdown. I only realized later that my bill shouldn't have been this much for what I ordered.

Disappointed. The seating is uncomfortable. The service was very cold and unfriendly from the beginning. They somehow forgot half of the order, and we waited 10 minutes for several rice bowls with the meat already on the table. I ordered standard rice while they brought me egg-fried for double price (which looked more like boiled with mixed eggs). They didn't accept the complaint. When we asked to pay, the waitress started to immediately remove the table cloth before us, uncovering the mess under it. Seriously? The 12% service charge is mandatory even though we asked that we do not want to pay it.

Emei Yipai's Sichuan cuisine is absolutely remarkable! The Golden Pork Knuckle was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfectly balanced, leaving you wanting more with every bite. The Mao Xue Wang had just the right level of spice, with a rich flavor and perfectly cooked ingredients that made it truly satisfying. The restaurant has an elegant ambiance, and the staff are warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home. Absalutely lovely, definitely coming back. Had hot pot for two, the broth was so full of flavour and all the ingredients were tasty. The sitting area was comfortable and staff were very helpful. Food arrived quickly in no time. Wet facilities were clean and tidy.

The Sichuan restaurant in Chinatown is easy to find, has a lot of menu options, and the waiters are very enthusiastic. I ordered grilled fish, and there were quite a few side dishes in it, and you can add other side dishes.

Mala grilled fish. The fish is mackerel so very distinctive flavor. Nice if you like mala food. Not that spicy.

Walked in on Monday, and the atmosphere was nice. Mildly spicy instant hotpot tasted like not very spicy but flavorful. It costed us more than 40 pounds and I didn’t think it was worth the value.

Highly recommend for this restaurant in Chinatown, delicious food and nice services. My favourite dish is steam pot, they have got many selections I can choose. The environment is really good as well, very mindful, very demure.

This is better than what you can expect for Szechuan cuisine. The food is tasty enough, raw materials are good. The customer services are very nice. I visited here in 2012, now in 2024, the taste, food quality are improved and the price doesn’t change much.

**5 stars** We had a great evening at "Er Mei Sichuan Restaurant" in Chinatown, London. The four of us had a delicious meal there. A little tip: You should plan on waiting a bit, as the restaurant is very popular, especially with Chinese and Asian guests, which definitely speaks for the authenticity of the cuisine. We got there just after 6pm and had to wait about 10 minutes. However, guests who arrived around 7 p.m. or later had to wait significantly longer - a queue had already formed in front of the restaurant. The quality of the food was beyond any doubt. We had chicken gong bao, sweet and sour chicken, chicken with noodles and stir-fried beef with chili. Each of the dishes was excellently prepared and we were completely impressed. The service was very polite and attentive, and the ambience was also very pleasant. Overall, an absolute recommendation! The portions were generous and the price/performance ratio was more than fair for the location and for London. We'll definitely be back!

There were 4 in our party and everyone was very happy with the service, the menu choice (including vegetarian) and the quality of the food. The main reason for the review though is that I realised I had lost my watch at some point in the day and narrowed it down to around the time we had dinner. I called and left my number with the restaurant in case it turned up and they called me the next day to say another customer had found it. It's quite an expensive watch and I was delighted to collect it right away. Thank you to the staff for going to the trouble of calling me and thank you for the honest customer who handed it in.
