I can see why this is one of the highest rated Chinese in Soho, with the in-the-know local Chinese diaspora that frequent here. Service is light-hearted and prompt. A sensational joint for the cravings of numb inducing peppery má.

Delicious authentic Sichuan restaurant in London. Business is booming. But the service attitude is very good👍🏻 There are plenty of seats though. But if the meal time has passed, it is recommended to call and make a reservation first. There are many items on the menu, making it difficult to choose. But if you like spicy food, you must order the boiled fish...it's super delicious😋! Spicy stir-fried cabbage 👍🏻. Yangzhou fried rice is also delicious. Crab roe tofu pot... lots of crab roe... Dry pot sausage is super tasty... Almost every dish is great👍🏻👍🏻⋯⋯The store serves the food very quickly. No fear of being hungry at all😆….. There is currently a discount for free drinks by punching in🥤 Parking nearby is not very convenient, so you have to look for it...

I've been here many times and there are new surprises every time. The pig's trotters at this restaurant are definitely the cleanest and tenderest in London! I like the taste so much. If you can’t make it at home, you can just come here and eat it! Today is the first time to eat grilled fish. I didn’t expect it to be particularly delicious. Jue Guo tasted amazing. Highly recommended! Five-star recommendation! 30 per capita? Let’s see if you can eat as well as me!

I have been ordering their takeout since I was a freshman. Sometimes they add noodles to it. It’s super fragrant. Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow. Then the hairy blood is very spicy and very spicy. I love the fungus, enoki mushrooms, prawns and hairy tripe. There are also a lot of vegetables that go well with rice! The price is also very cheap

I really like the Shu-flavored beef and stir-fried green beans. The spareribs in bamboo tubes are also very special.

We were seated in the basement. The food was ok but far from extraordinary good. The size of the portions was small. The service was unfriendly and lousy. Plus all dishes came at the table at different times more than 5 to 10 minutes apart The waitress was grumpy and the atmosphere like in a waiting hall. And the worst yet to come: For the horrible service a service charge of 12.5 % was added on the check without telling us! A pathetic attitude, imho a classic scam. We won't come back for sure. Never ever.

I didn’t like the food so much and the waiters attitude were a bit unfriendly. They use paper tablecloth , it looks weird! When it was time to pay the bill, they just print “pre order” consisting of just a list of dishes. The calculation wasn’t clear, may be I was fooled. I guess they also have service fee is about 12%!

I ordered via Uber Eats as I wanted to treat myself. I really fancied duck but wanted something different to what I'd normally order (roast duck and pancakes etc). I'd heard good things about Er Mei. I ordered one main (£21 ) and a dessert (pumpkin pancakes) with a plum juice drink. I was really looking forward to my main dish and the container was certainly still really hot. Container well wrapped to stop spills. However, upon opening up what I was expecting to be succulent duck with vegetables with shichuan peppercorns was in fact a container completely full of oily liquid with a few bits of duck on bone, some tied noodles and a few very soggy vegetables. I figured it must taste better than it looked, (was pretty certain I'd not ordered a soup and double checked) but sadly what I got was a mouthful of very oily and extremely spicy liquid which was not flavourful, aromatic or even pleasant . In fact it took my breath away and gave me a migraine and stomach ache it was so bad. I'm no wuss when it comes to spice, hence ordering from a Sichuan restaurant. However, this was not a flavourful dish. Perhaps those dining in have a different experience but, I certainly feel robbed of £21 for something I was really looking forward to enjoying but was well below expectation in how it's served and flavour. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but reading other reviews, it seems that there's one level of spice and everything is coated in an oily pepper broth,rather than cooked with the whole peppercorns. Truly disappointing. Most of it went on the bin after I started having trouble breathing and my head and stomach hurt. Not sure I'll order again,sadly.

Went here for my birthday, but the seats were quite empty as soon as I walked in. I asked if I could sit in a bigger seat, but I was told in a bad manner that I couldn't and they were already booked. When I sat down to order, no one paid attention to me for a long time, and my attitude was not good when I arrived. The food was served very quickly. The chicken pot came out within a few minutes, but it looked pre-made. There was no heat at all. The chicken tasted stale when you first tasted it. The assorted stir-fried vegetables were sandy after the third bite. . The most important thing is that halfway through eating the rice, I found unknown hairs, which were still curly, and I felt instantly nauseated. I called for the service staff, but that person kept looking askance at me and had a terrible attitude. When I asked how to solve the problem, he actually told me that I would get a 10% discount on returning the rice. I said that you didn’t also get a 10% discount on cash but you had the nerve to say a 10% discount. She also argued that the chicken pot must be freshly cooked. Never had a good attitude. This is such a disgusting meal for a birthday!

Good place, we ate pak choi soup with pork and tofu, rice with seafood and spicy eggplant with pork. Everything was delicious, although we were not able to eat all the eggplants because they were so spicy, and they were classified with only one chili 😅

The waitress recommended me chicken satay skewers … they were basically plain chicken skewers (no marinated, no spiced or glaced) with a very bland “satay” sauce on the side…. Very expensive for the quality

Absolutely horrible food. Terrible service and very rude waiters. Manager extremely rude and condescending. Would never go here again. Extremely expensive for mediocre food. Found a hair in food that staff and manager insisted were beansprout. We had very good, albeit relatively expensive, food here. It was very good in terms of quantity, you were well fed. The service was rather mediocre. After the food was brought, our table was no longer noticed. Since we were sitting relatively far back, this was a bit problematic. Setup is quite simple but adequate. Would go again if budget allows.

Lightning protection! The food was delicious, but the service was terrible. From waiting for a long time to come in and being ignored by all the waiters, to scolding us for sitting in the corner, to being impatient when ordering, and finally removing the dishes and urging us to pay. Moreover, the exchange rate is much higher than the market price, the service fee is also higher than the ordinary 10%, and there is no task service to speak of. In short, don’t eat to ruin your mood when you’re in a good mood, and don’t eat if you’re in a bad mood.

We ate as a couple. First of all, the crispy duck is shredded at the table and brought to you so you can make some rolls yourself, possibly the best duck of this style I have ever tasted. Then we ordered the chicken noodles, which were also very good, lots of them, and the caramelized sesame chicken dish... the latter was very, very good. If we return to Chinatown we would repeat. They served us very quickly and efficiently.

Part 2: Updating below review as had a much better experience this time - food was fantastic as always and no scamming this time. Got the grilled fish, cumin lamb and seafood rice. Part 1: The only reason for the low stars is the dishonest service here by the older (appearing to be super friendly) waiter. The food was excellent - everything was going perfect till the bill arrived. First sign of something amiss was when they didn’t give us the actual bill with the amounts on it and just said these are the items and that’s the amount and it DOESNT include tip. Half my table had started paying by this time adding 10-15% tip on top but I requested the actual bill and lo and behold the bill already had 12.5% included in there. The waiter then proceeded to tell us oh no Service charge doesn’t mean tip but we were having none of that. Such a shame to have a great meal but then have the head waiter there try and scam you.
