Delicious, well spiced schezuan Chinese food. The pork buns, the stir fried fragrant beef and the spicy fragrant chicken were especially good along with the green beans and hot and sour soup.

The food was okay. However, we had just finished eating when the tablecloth was cleared away with the dishes. The bill was placed in our hands in less than a minute, even though our glasses were still half full and we wanted to order something else. Conclusion: Very poor hospitality. We will never eat there again.

Tried Er Mei restaurant in Chinatown for the first time and was really impressed! We ordered the Mao Xue Wang and the Salt & Pepper Squid — both were excellent. The hotpot dish was spicy but balanced, with generous ingredients like beef tripe, luncheon meat, and tofu skin, all well-flavored. The squid was crispy on the outside and tender inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. Friendly service and clean environment. Will definitely come back to try more dishes!

Do also try the sesame prawn Excellent value, very good food and large portions, enough for two or three. and free prawn crackers and interesting chili oil. Ended up carrying back home four containers of food. Gerrard Street is busier and perhaps better geared to tourist passing trade so u are not going to see the overhead street lighting on Lisle Street. Highly recommended. Suggestions do show your staff how to open bottle of wine and when waitress spills food on table don't pick up with fingers.😁 8 May 2025 update Wow, Chinese tea just £2.60 and the pot is topped up, not to mention tea is also poured out for u. Amazing and the tea is very good to boot. Tried one of the new items on the menu, beef with potatoes and carrots, soo good and plenty meat, enough for three or more. The noodles with pork ribs in a spicy soup 🍲 gets the 👍 👌 Service is first class, attentive, and friendly.

We have visited this restaurant twice with family, and every dish we tried have been excellent. Our favorites include cumin lamb and pumpkin cakes. The services has been great too. We will definitely be back again!

The saliva chicken in this restaurant is really amazing. The chicken is tender and juicy and full of spicy flavor. You can't stop eating it after one bite. The sesame sauce of the dandan noodles is very fragrant, coupled with the slightly spicy taste and the chewy noodles, the taste is very balanced and layered. The overall taste is very authentic, almost exactly the same as what you eat in China. The dandan noodles at this shop are amazing! The chewy noodles are wrapped in spicy spicy oil with a spicy aroma, and are rich in layers of minced meat and chopped peanuts, igniting your taste buds instantly. We saw other high reviews and tried out this place and loved it. The food might be a bit on spicy side but still not too spicy and enjoyed the food there. Food is okay, but overpriced. I'm not convinced all the reviews are real.. Please be aware they try and scam you to pay the service charge twice!! Service charge is already included in the bill. You might not realize this because the bill does not contain the price breakdown, but it says the service charge is included in the menu. However when you go to pay at the till they ask if you want to add service charge again. I am sure many people do not realize this and pay the service charge twice.

This was the worst dining experience I’ve had….ever. The staff were pointedly offhand and although the food was quick to arrive, the dishes arrived in instalments. I ordered a spicy fragrant chicken with dry chillies and peppers, and egg fried rice. The dish looked nice from one of the pictures on the menu (I normally avoid any restaurant that uses pictures of the food on the menu). However,I should have know better. I have uploaded a picture of the plate after I had finished. Bearing in mind that I had eaten some of the dried chillies, what’s left is a lot of chillies, all of which were close to being inedible. They were unpleasant, lacking in flavour and had the texture of the sweepings from the bottom of a bird cage. My wife and my sister shared two dishes between them and they both said that the food was bland at best or words to that effect. The staff had zero customer skills even after we tried to explain how bad the meal was. I had to ask for proper receipt. As has been mentioned but other luckless diners, the receipt they give you has no details of how the bill is made up. On asking for a detailed bill, one was swiftly provided, suggesting it had previously been printed but to avoid any questions, not handed to the diner. I refused to pay the service charge and I told our server that the food was terrible. Conveniently, she could not speak the language at that point. I would be very surprised if the 5 star reviews are genuine. This is by far the worst restaurant I have ever been to. BEWARE.

DON'T EAT THERE!!! If your want to experience the world's worst service with a fixed 12.5% service fee, then that's the place to be. All of the service people where extremely unfriendly, not willing to help or answer questions in any way. We were discriminated from the first second the put our foot at the door and judged throughout our stay. I'd rather eat my own excrement, then eating there once more.

The two of us ordered a preserved egg, a bamboo tube steamed pork ribs, and a spicy chicken pot. The portion of preserved eggs is slightly smaller, the flavor of the steamed pork ribs is slightly insufficient, and the ribs are not processed enough in the early stage, resulting in a slight meaty smell, but overall it is okay. The chicken pot is spicy, salty and slightly numb to suit my personal taste.
