Tandoori Nights in Torbay

Food was very nice. Man who greeted us was very pleasant. Woman who took order not as friendly and asked us how we were paying as soon as plates were taken. Not asking if we wanted anything else or if we enjoyed it. Restaurant had no heating and was cool. Definitely needs a good refurbish. It was a throw back but very tatty. I recommend food but probably need to improve customer care and environment.

Haven’t ordered here for awhile : no particular reason other than we don’t have many takeaways these days but we did remember that this was particularly nice. Last time we had it and the staff were extremely friendly. In fact the whole family came out to say thank you when I picked up my takeaway This delivery food was hot, delicious and plentiful.

Avoid avoid avoid!!! Waited an hour and a half for a delivery. When I rang they then changed their minds and said they were too busy and were not going to make or deliver the order. Cowboys!!!

We went yesterday as a family and it was amazing. Good is generously portioned and tasted amazing. The waiter was very friendly. We also spoke to the chef to thank him for the tasty food.

I really didn't want to write this, but the truth is this is the worst Indian meal we've had in our entire life, and I've had many, everything was so bland, absolutely no flavour whatsoever especially in the Bombay aloo and mushroom bahjee. The onion bahjee and poppadom was swimming in oil and we weren't offered any chutney etc I had to ask, the nicest thing about the whole restaurant was the waiter, who was very chatty. I do blame myself here as the outside of the restaurant looks a state, and when you stepped in you could see the wallpaper on the walls wasn't even lining up and the chair I sat on I'm sure was broken, and the waiter was in a tracksuit, I should of run a mile, was too embarrassed, made up an excuse about not eating much, asked for the bill and left. Wouldn't go back if you paid me and I'm not joking. Just hoping I don't have a dodgy stomach tomorrow.

Had the most delicious meal last night, the best Indian food takeaway I gave had in Torbay.. no exaggeration! Very pleasant young lad served us. We’ll see you again 😁

Sadly I will not be ordering from here again. Their son likes to take the mickey out of disabled and less fortunate people on the internet for “fun”. I find it extremely embarrassing for his father as he owns the business. What a reputation the son is setting for the business. Shame on you

Unfortunately there son has a habit of uploading videos of disabled and less fortunate people on Facebook and tiktok as he seems to find it amusing laughing at people with mental health problems. I'm sure it can't be good for his father's business. I won't be ordering from them again.

This was the first time we’ve used the Tandoori Nights for a takeaway meal, and it was excellent. 👍😊I parked opposite and ordered our meal. Very tasty, delicious food, and very good value for money . Will be using this place as our regular tandoori restaurant/takeaway now. Also plenty of parking opposite👍😊

Would not feed to my dog that bad! & owner more aggressive than a rabies flea infested wild dog! Avoid at all costs! Said he will tell all his Indian friends.

We went with intentions of ordering however mY mum never liked anything so we told the waiter we are going to leave however we will pay for the toilet that we used to change out babies nappy in which we didnt even chuck into their bin. We gave 5 pounds for the toilet out of over own happiness and 5 pound for the popadams that they gave to us with their own will. Some random old guy came from the back (poss owner). He basically was ready to fight lol cuz we wanted to leave. He was in my husbands face saying we arnt right for not ordering food and using their toilet even though we paid? Clearly dont have much business but shouldn't have gotten frustrated with us when we was respectful. He stereo typed pakistanis saying we all only go restaurants to use toilets. Well today uncle ji you gave bengali a very good name aswell👍👏 5 stars for the toilet we used however I hope this owner can get some customer service lessons. Sorry my son decided to dirty his nappy lol.

Tax evasion is not fair, card machine isn't broken atall, it's been broken since you began trading got a zero hygiene rating and still scamming tax. Shouldn't be allowed to trade if you don't want to put into the system.

Had another cracking meal from here. 6 of us went for a sit down and the food was plentiful and absolutely delicious 😋 as usual.

Food here was absolutely slammin'! Fresh, full of flavor and utterly delicious! Staff are lovely and polite. Really enjoyed our meals. Will definitely be back. Thanks for making our celebrations perfect!

Ordered Today & the Food was absolutely Disgusting!!! No flavour what so ever & the meat was dry like a pair of old flip flops, & to top it all off I've been on the toilet ever since! Avoid at all costs! This place should be closed Down utterly Disgusting!

If I could, I wouldn't even give this place 1 star. Group of 6, none of us could finish 1 mouthful. The popadom starters tasted like walkers cheese and onion crisps. The chicken was red and that wasn't the sauce... I was violently ill shortly after, thought it was Covid. Turns out it wasn't covid, it was the curry! After not eating any of the curry, we were offered to take it away with us. I offered it to a homeless man and even he said no!

Absolutely scrumptious food, the flies bothering me the whole night through added an extra layer of flavour to the bland, watery sauce. I also really enjoyed the way the owner's son stared at me throughout my meal, didn't unnerve me at all!

Would have given it zero stars if I could. This place is terrible. We had flys pestering us all night there was a lack of drink choices, they don't take card payments. The whole place needs an overhaul. I then found previous reviews on TA that says the place was fined and shutdown due to hygiene issues. Worrying that its still open.

Firstly I had to give you this place one star to carry on with my review. But didn't want to .I feel I have wasted the best part of £40 tonight. Firstly the chicken tikka starter was bland and texture was like eating wet paper.The chicken tikka mains were tasteless and no where near marinated.The nan bread was like wallpaper and tasteless . Poppadoms were ok .Did phone and the manager said he had cooked for the house of commons ? He did promise discount next time but I won't be bothering to use this place again .

The food here is extremely terrible. The waiting time is way over the top. Their food hygiene lever has only just improved but the standands of food remains the same. The best Indian restaurant in the south west is the eastern eye I have eaten many of times food always good. These other Indian restaurants like this one need Gordon Ramsay to teach them how to cook and cook food from fresh. I believe its terrible to go to a re6when u can cook food better at home. I'm a food critic and I will speak out against bad restaurants so I never go back a second time. Please feel free to try this place yourself.

Had the set meal was excellent too much food. You have to bring your own wine and beer but no corkage charge.

Seems to be a family run restaurant. Visited on a Sunday with a party of 3. All had well presented and very tasty meals and efficient service. The decor was traditional and would imagine that when full the atmosphere would be good. No alcohol is sold but can be obtained next door. Unusually - can only pay by cash. Toilets seem to be in process of an upgrade. 9th June 2019

Had a vindaloo was not even hot in spice the sauce was to tomato based. Fast delivery and pipping hot however expensive for what you get. The salad and onion was undesirable the way it was packed in a sandwich bag it was sweating and wilting the popadom was soggy also.

Hi there. Me and my girlfriend ordered in from tandoori and I had a chicken Korma and it was raw! So we rang them up to tell them and all I got was abuse and threatening behaviour from a man that answerd saying I was a liar and it was all cooked in the same batch saying I know were you live I have your address and that he will ring the police if we put a review up!! So as it's my right to write the review I am . I am disgusted!! Horrible horrible people!!

DO NOT EAT HERE........ I Ordered butter chicken, pilau rice and poppadoms for takeaway as the restauant was dated, dirty, untidy and not inviting at all. I was served by the owner/cooks son who was about 14 whilst the aforementioned carried on with his computer which he finally dragged himself away from to cook my food. Whilst waiting for my order i could not fail to notice how filthy the place was and the state of disrepair it was in. My food came (after the son had popped out to buy grated cheese!!) And i reluctantly left with it. I ate my meal dubiously upon returning home. The poppadoms were stale, the rice was burnt in places and the butter chicken was covered in grated cheese. I seriously thought i was going to wake up in the night with food poisening but this time i was lucky. I would never eat here again!

not the best place to eat only 2 of us in the restaurant not very inviting didn't feel clean if it was in Birmingham it would be closed.

Ok. I have to say this was my worst experience. The food came quick, when we put the food in the bowls we saw about half an inch of water appear. We tried a few mouthfuls and it was clear this had been 're heated. It tasted disgusting. I called the owner and asked if it had been microwaved and he got very upset. He told me i was a liar and to prove there was water in it so I drove down to the restaurant and showed him. He got very very angry and said he was going to call the police! Lol I asked for a refund and he basicly told me where to go! I left it at that. All I can say is dont eat there. It is clearly dirty, empty restaurant and a foul mouthed owner.

It was so cold we had to eat with our coats on, we were the only customers for the full time we were there to eat a two course meal on a Saturday night. The meal was not very tasty and the staff sat at watched us eat.
