Tandoori Night Restaurant in North Devon

I rarely eat Indian food out as I can make it myself, considering its my native cuisine but this restaurant is exquisite! Flavours are to perfection! The staff are incredible, one gentleman in particular really made our night because of his incredible service! I’ll be back and telling everyone to try it out!

Good food, some dishes a tad too sweet.

While staying in Illfracombe, we visited tandori nights indian restaurant. I can honestly say it was one of the best Indian meals I have had. If there is anyone out there looking for a decent Indian, I can recommend you try this one. You won't be dissappointed. I believe they also do take aways.

Best food in Devon that we have been able to have

Fake Indian food it's so sweet and basically the same curry with different meats , the food is really misleading as someone who is eating Indian food for the first time may think this is authentic which it isn't as someone who is Indian. EVERYTHING IS SWEET (including the mint sauce).

Just ordered a Tandoori Night meal for the whole family tonight, absolutely lovely to many meals to list but all was so tasty, fresh and piping hot on delivery which was spot on time, unfortunately no pictures, could of taken a photo of all empty plates and containers nothing left, well done all at Tandoori Night A1* all round

A large group of us ate here recently and all ordered separate dishes and most of us developed stomach problems within a few hours and into the next day.

Amazing!... the best Indian food (quisine) I've eaten in many years. Every dish unique and distinct. I really wish to send the highest complements to the chef and kitchen team.

My family came here twice in 3 days, Really good and tasty food, lamb shank was the best, service was friendly and fast.

Really nice food, good size portions

The food was very nice, and the portion sizes were sensible (unlike some places where one dish is enough for two), and each dish had a code for allergies with a key for what each meant. The service was good and the restaurant itself was fine, though the high street looks quite tired and run down. The only other we could find looked best to avoid, so if you want a curry in Ilfracombe, this is the place for you

Have to shoutout Katarina Banska & Mustak! Our first time visiting Ilfracombe in North Devon and it was my birthday weekend too. My Katka reserved a table for us at Tandoori Night. The New Orleans vibe inside Tandoori Night with its wrap around french style white balcony encompassing the Restaurant interior gave us a eclectically warm vibe. The food was delicious too and I recommend Butter Chicken and those Naans! My Fiancé comes from Slovakia and coming across Slovakians in England really has been few and far between. When one of the Servers learned of my Katka's nationality, she hop footed to the kitchen to grab Katarina Banska from Banska Bystrica, Slovakia to visit our table for her introduction. Such a fantastic person and she made our evening better. Our Server Mustak was also a standout with his attentive demeanour and kind disposition. Thank you Tandoori Night -

The food was absolutely delicious. I particularly loved the platter starter (chick n platter). The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food arrived very quickly.

On hols so decided after a long day out I'd have a takeaway being only 2 min walk away ,I decided on a Chicken tikka tandoori and a garlic and coriander naan and I'm sorry for the poor photo as I wasn't planning on a review .the meal was bang on enjoyed sorry I didn't try this place earlier in holiday,I went and ordered but can order over phone ,to eat in i recommend booking as there wasn't a empty seat in the place .

Best Indian meal I've had in some time, and well priced to boot. We will return before our stay in Ilfracombe comes to an end.

Great meal out. Onion bhajis were perfect and the garlic naan was delicious. Highly recommend the Chicken Pathia. We were served quickly and were made to feel very welcome. Would visit again if we are ever in Ilfracombe.

We've been coming to Tandoori Nights for a couple of years now any time that we're in Ilfracombe. It's faultless - superb food, friendly staff, nice decor and ambience as well as reasonably priced. The drink on the house was also very much appreciated.

We've been coming to Tandoori Nights for a couple of years now. We went Very friendly and superb food. We also know from a prior experience that they can offer non-Indian food if required. Our friends had been before as well. We were all just disappointed that we couldn't make it back on the following evening!

Unassuming from the outside, my partner and I chose to eat here on a recommendation as we were only staying in Ilfracombe for one night…. My partner chose 3 vegetarian options and having eaten in thousands of restaurants on several continents was certain in declaring it was the best Indian food she had ever eaten…. If you have room for only 3: the coconut rice, okra and chickpea dishes, plus lentil daal if you have room, are all a must

We had chicken tikka masala , was tasteless and looked like puréed can tomatoes. Had no flavor and in my opinion was the worst tikka masala I have ever had ! Waste of money .

We really enjoy eating here. It's clean. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is delicious. I love the Honey pot chicken and the sag aloo. My husband had the mixed shaslik and onion fried rice which he said was delicious too. We have been several times and really enjoy 😉

Looting people, food is not at all worth. Can anyone imagine they are putting sugar in curry. No taste at all, pure waste!!! This is not at all Indian food which they are selling!Horrible

We popped in to ask about a table... Young man said no need to book as it was only for 2 so we took him at his word and said see you Friday ..... Friday came so popped along at 7pm to dine in only to be told they were fully booked . lady on the door said well it is a bank holiday weekend .. husband is diabetic hence why we had enquired earlier in the week if we had to book. it had mixed reviews but decided we would give it ago. we were offered a takeaway this makes no sense as tables were free I have worked in hospitality so would be prepared for the odd walkin 🚶 diner

Don’t get the grilled anything, it’s dipped in this weird red yucky sauce, their fried fish is gross too. Chicken curry was ok though. Overall would not recommend, you’re better off buying a sandwich elsewhere.

Visited on Monday 27th March 2023. Post seeing a film at the nearby cinema we had our first Indian meal out in years and yummy it was too. Quite quiet as it was most days when we lived in town over winter. Nice service and decent food. Would benefit from greater patronage from everyone in town. Use it or lose it.

It was horrible experience we were expecting to have good Asian cuisine as it was mentioned on the door. But the taste was really not convincing. We were not at all satisfied with food and service. I won’t recommend this place especially food quality doesn’t meet up to the expectations.

Very friendly gentleman who was constantly checking in on us to ask if we needed anything. I did ask the gentleman twice to remove the grounded onions in the paneer masala curry and he did say it was possible to do that but unfortunately I came across some small bits of onions whilst I was eating and couldn't finish the curry which was a shame!

Possibly the nicest Lamb Balti I've ever eaten! They catered easily for 11 of us, and were friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be booking a table next time I'm in Ilfracombe.

We are regular visitors to Tandoori Nights. We also have regular takeaways. Food and service is always 100% which is why we keep coming back. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

We are regulars here. The food is excellent and good value for money, the staff are all lovely and the place always looks spotless. The Goan Vindaloo and Dansak sauces are really nice. Tarka Dhal is divine. Saag Bhajee is very good. Rice always perfect. Unlike some restaurants it is open all year round serving locals - Saturday seems to be the busiest night. We do find it gets very busy during the school holidays so it is best to book. If you cant get a table, they do deliver!

We are on holiday in our caravan, slightly outside of their normal delivery area. Glad to say that they agreed to deliver to our caravan site. We are so glad that they did. Starters were absolutely gorgeous. Main courses a real delight. Nigh on perfection on a plate. My wife and myself have eaten in many Indian restaurants. This was a delivery and wish we could of gone to eat in their establishment. With 2 dogs in tow that was out of the question.All I can say is, Thank you all for great food and exceptional service.

This is the best Indian Restaurant meal I have had in the UK since I don’t know when. One chicken and one lamb dish. Both came nicely spiced with good portions of the meat they advertised in them. No fillers. The naan bread was beautifully cooked without the slavering of oil over it that happens so often. There was enough for two but I ate it all myself and wiped out the serving bowls with my naan bread.

Outstanding food. We eat and cook a lot of South Asian food and this was really very good. The stand out dish was the lamb shank.

In my experience, it is somewhat of a challenge to savour quality Indian cuisine outside of London. However, this establishment is a real jewel in the crown of the southwest and probably the best Indian restaurant in Ilfracombe. I ordered the Papadums with the Chutney tray. These were just perfect: crispy and non-greasy. For the mains, I really enjoyed the Tandoori Chicken Moricha, which was cooked to perfection and full of flavour but not too spicy (although the restaurant is happy to up the heat if you so require) - thoroughly recommended. In terms of ambience, the restaurant was cool, calm, and relaxed. The staff were approachable and attentive. Compared to the many restaurants I visit, I am confident that the dishes served here are excellent value for money given their high quality and hope that you will enjoy too!

Always amazing We always get these guys when ordering takeaway Indian. And it always comes early and pipping hot. The food is lovely, so tasty and loads of choice. 5 stars

We have just had an amazing meal, Tandoori Chicken was so tender and tasty. Lamb Jalfrazi was incredible. Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. Restaurant is clean, tidy and comfortable with lovely atmosphere. Lots of choice with the food and drinks. Would recommend coming here if your in Ilfracombe. Really reasonably priced. We'll worth it.

We live in Leicester, curry capital and as we were going to compare this restaurant to back home, this excessed all expectations. Family of four and enjoyed the food tremendously. Well done guys and thank you for the recommendations on the dishes and great service. See you soon.

Food was great, although my nann bread was forgotten. (oh well mistakes happen) it did take 3 people to take my order though, because i was staying in a holiday cottage. they didnt know where it was. despite me saying type the actual place in google maps. it would be nice if the restaurant had a list of local holiday houses. just incase so it was a tad frustrating. but the food was great so that outweighs the ordering part

Absolutely beautiful food! Tikka masala was perfect, the chicken was so tender it fell apart and the sauce was heaven! The vegetable samosa was crispy and seasoned perfectly. It was delivered about 10mins early which was also great, was very sweet of them to add some extra mint yoghurt at no extra fee too! 5 stars all the way I couldn't recommend enough!

Not sure how hygienic the kitchen is given that the taps in the toilets didn't work. Did ask the guy working about them and it was "oh yeah we know about that, we're going to sort those out". Maybe get on and do it instead of pretending.
