Beautiful warm cosy inviting comfortable friendly clean cafe with great food and wonderful selection of cakes and pastries.

Disappointing. Cappuccino/latte served in tiny cups. Tea for two in one small teapot - one tea bag! One toilet down very steep/old steps into what appeared to be a cellar - basic! Cakes looked delicious but expensive.

I have been to the cafe a few times now I like the atmosphere there! However I have often found the staff abrupt and rude. I was there with a friend I hadn’t seen in some time we ordered x2 pots of tea and food and were asked to leave after an hour and 20mins because they needed the table! I literally felt like we had been thrown out! We had spent money there and I didn’t feel it was handled in a nice way and I will not be going in there again!

Popped in for coffee and couldn’t resist the good selection of cakes. Warm apple pie was a winner with clotted cream. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

We happened across this charming cafe drawn in by the cake display and ambience and were not disappointed. The Welsh rarebit and soup were fresh and delicious and the lovely staff though very busy went out of the way to ensure our son had colouring in books and crayons. The Heartland lattes are a must too.

We ventured here when the cafe we usually go to was fully booked and we were very happy that we did. The decor was fab, very unique. The service was fantastic and fast, we were very well looked after by the staff. The food was top quality and the portion size was very generous. The price was way better then anyone else in the area with no compromise on the standard of ingredients. Looking forward to coming here more.

When I phoned to book afternoon tea for my Dad's Birthday, I was dealt with by a very pleasant lady who asked me what the occasion was and we discussed the types of sandwiches as she would accomodate any allergies etc. On the day we were seated quickly and asked what we would like to drink. The sandwiches and cakes were brought out on a 3 tier plate stand and looked absolutely beautiful. They had even put a candle in the scone and a ribbon on the stand for my Dad's Birthday which was a lovely touch. The sandwiches were finger sandwiches and the bread was lovely and fresh and the fillings delicious. Onto the cakes, each one was a mouthful of the most delicious sponge I have tasted in a long time. They tasted homemade rather than manufactured. So light and delicate we weren't left feeling too heavy. Each cake we were all saying to each other "oh this one is the nicest" then we would taste the next one and say the same!! We asked to take the scones home and were given a box to do so. I can honestly say that this was the nicest Afternoon Tea I have had in a long time and I would definitely visit again.

First time here today and we loved it! Took daughter for an afternoon tea, it was all beautiful presented and tasted great. I especially loved the carrot cake. Thought £20 for afternoon tea for two was excellent value. We are definitely going to return soon to try some food from their main menu.

We always tend to stop here for a coffee and cake while in Rhos on sea .Staff very friendly and nice ambience about the place ,if warm enough there are comfy chairs outside to watch the world go by .

Quaint little cafe and lovely staff, the patisserie window was very inviting. However food disappointing and Epensive. Welsh Ratebit , slimy and gloopy and very yellow, not very cheesy at all. Hot chocolate luke warm , had to send back, second one not much better. Shocked with toilets. Damp and dingy staircase down, smell of damp. Toilet door , knob etc looked like something from a scrap yard. Toilet itself clean but everything else in disrepair.

Lovely little cafe, am not one usually to complain but it was a very disappointing experience, coffee was okay but the Lemon Meringue was the worst ever, soggy pastry and soggy meringue , considering it was £3.80 a slice ! Pretty disgusting really!

It was a busy Saturday but we squeezed in and gad excellent quiche, coffee and a pastry. Food perfect and the staff are wonderful, very efficient, caring and friendly. We love this place and the service given by the staff mean you will leave with a smile. Do try for yourself.

Very obvious this place lacks professional supervison or experienced staff.Greeted on arrival by young waitress who took our order for two soups.Shortly after another young waitress tried to take our order. She seemed surprised the order had been taken earlier.However after a while ..twenty minutes or so we wondered why or order hadn't arrived. I noticed drinks for a family on adjacent table had arrived but no food. The waitresses moved around clearing other tables but avoiding eye contact with waiting customers.Since there is restricted parking time on street outside we were concerned about length of time the order was taking. It took another ten minutes to attract attention and ask how long more? We explained about our limited parking time. We were given an explanation that soup was being freshly prepared and would be another 10 minutes! It actually arrived almost immediately after. Unfortunately it was only luke warm and certainly would have failed the temperature probe test.So after a few minutes waiting for someone to appear I decided we couldn't wait any longer . I walked over to the open kitchen door to explain to someone the soup was luke warm and we had to leave so couldn't wait any longer.We bought their lovely bread and when paying one of the young waitresses explained to my wife it was her business and it was very rude of me to come to the kitchen to complain.May I say this was a return visit. Last time the food and service was good. It also looked good today. Something went wrong in the kitchen. Things go wrong sometimes..but tell the customer...don't leave them waiting!Advice...if you're in charge and greeting customers ..let them know.2 If there will be a delay..tell the customer..maybe they will change their order to suit everyone..we would have...we wanted something quick!3 you've a lovely place and lovely food.4 get professional help to sort out kitchen waiting times.Have the waitresses make constant eye contact with the customers or have a system where customers can easily contact them...don't have everyone leave the floor at same time maybe!(We noticed that other table had ordered before us and hadn't food by the time we left).

Called into Cafe Rayner for a bite to eat and a coffee on a visit to Rhos on Sea. A trip to North Wales isn't complete without it!

Our group of 4 adults had an excellent lunch in this friendly and welcoming restaurant. The coffee, sandwiches and soup were all delicious. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough to help us and accommodate particular dietary requirements. This was our second visit and we'll definitely return.

Really sorry to say we were very disappointed with our visit to the cafe. Empty tables had dirty dishes on them all and so I cleared a table. We sat for ten minutes before I had to ask if we could order. After ordering the cakes were arrived quite promptly and the scone was delicious but the carrot cake was the smallest portion ever. We then waited for twenty minutes for tea and coffee and had to remind twice. When the tea was brought over it was not the right one and then the latte came five minutes later. Such a shame! There was very young staff and no senior member of staff and I think that’s why it was chaotic. There was a lady sat behind us who when approached had been sitting there for half an hour and no one had taken her order. The young gentleman was very apologetic for all the mistakes and waiting time but no offer of any reduction. Lovely cafe but won’t rush back I’m afraid

My brother and I called here today on our way to Anglesey. We arrived at breakfast time. My brother had a bacon and egg batch and I had a sausage batch. The sausages were very tasty from a local supplier and my brother said the bacon in his batch was also very good. We also had two Americano coffees with hot milk on the side. The milk was very hot and the coffee had a very good flavour without being too strong. The staff were very friendly and also brought out water and tumblers too.I look forward to trying their lunchtime menu sometime as well.

As a local resident I have visited cafe rayner many times but have not thought to write a review before.

Order was very promptly and helpfully taken and served quickly. Scone straight from the oven was wonderful. Staff lovely. All the cakes looked amazing. Will be visiting this cafe again.

For the first time in all my reviews, I must start by commenting on the courteous attention I witnessed as a member of staff dealt with an elderly and frail customer. I watched as the server took the trouble to kneel alongside the person and explain the menu, even down to the difference between mayonnaise and ketchup. It was heartwarming to see such care and attention at a level I’ve not witnessed before in any establishment.

Called in this morning for a coffee with a friend after a meeting. Lovely atmosphere great service. Was only going to have a coffee but then saw the scones. Heaven. Would recommend them.

Lovely chickpea and spinach (vegan) curry in a cosy cafe. What more can you need on a cold day? Good, varied menu and a lovely selection of tasty cakes too though none of those was vegan today! Nice coffee too even though mine was a decaf latte with coconut milk. Thanks guys!

Visited here this morning and just want to say how wonderful it was. The service was spot on, lovely smiley staff who were very attentive. One young girl with brown hair was especially good. The food was delicious as was the coffee. Will be back.

Decided to book for my daughter’s birthday breakfast, and all 5 of us really enjoyed it. The breakfast offers great value at just £7.95 which included a stunning coffee (probably the best coffee I’ve had in Rhos). The sausage and bacon is baked which makes a nice change and means it’s not at all greasy, and the scrambled eggs were delicious! My daughter opted for poached eggs and couldn’t wait to tell me that it was better than the ones I make at home - thanks for that!

Called for a Coffee & Cake and after a few changed decisions we opted for the Coffee & Walnut cake.

We just dropped in for a pot of tea but had great service. It’s a gorgeous place, the cakes looked divine and the menu varied and tasty. Any cafe which uses china cups gets my vote.

We have ordered sandwiches here on a number of occasions and there is never enough mayonnaise, so always ask for extra! The brown rolls are a bit too heavy so go for the white ones instead. They also do take out sandwiches too.

We went here for breakfast and were expecting great things as the menu looked great. The staff were friendly but service was very slow. We thought it would be worth the wait as everything was freshly cooked. However, the toast was cold and crunchy, the scramble egg I'd asked for to be quite loose was over cooked and cold and the vegetarian breakfast was greasy. We were very disappointed, especially as it cost £17 for the experience.

Very clean place. Lots of choice with cakes. I had a black americano, which was really very good! It had the proper creamy foam on the rop that you don’t get in most places, and the coffee tasted very rich.

Have visited Cafe Rayner three times now. First two times were during the week and it was perfect; the second time we had an afternoon tea and it was just spot on - we were asked what cakes we wanted, and lovely selection of sandwiches.

I was out early one morning with my dogs and my original plan was to get back to my local cafe but ended up hungry so popped in here for first time. Went at about 9.15 am, quiet in there, dogs allowed. Ordered inside, girl was polite, friendly and efficient. Ate outside as we had dogs. 1 large breakfast and one more normal size, rise and shine I think it was called, 895 and 5.50 respectively. Slightly expensive as you dont get a drink included but the price was worth it stick an ornage juice on and 2 teas bumped it to 19.65. I could moan and say the bacon was quite thin, but overall it was enjoyable. Guy that brought the food was polite and the 2nd waitress seemed to keep herself busy and again was polite.

As always, excellent service, coffee and cake too!

Second or third time we have visited this place, it doesn't disappoint! Lovely service, unusual decor and the food is very nice. Lunch was chicken salad with pesto (very nice), smoked mackerel pate (something else) and two portions of fish finger sandwiches (kids loved them). All followed by some of their fabulous looking cakes. My 6yo son summed up this review "very tasty food"! Good taste that boy... A real gem of a place that I hope to visit again.
