Just been for family meal excellent food and excellent service very helpful staff good as allways recommend the gammon steak

I have come to this pub for many years. The food is great and service is second to none. There's no place better. I will continuously recommend the tamar, its awesome.

Visited the pub last night for birthday drinks, was extremely impressed by the lovely friendly service. Was mostly served by a lovely young lady called Phoebe, noticed how nice her and all the staff in general seemed. Great service !

5 star service by all the staffs special thanks to phoebe. Sat in the pool room and there was a great atmosphere. thank you all.

Having read the reviews for this pub we thought we would give it a try.Booked a table to take my wife for a birthday lunch along with our daughter.Got seated and placed our order,we decided on three sirloin steaks ,two with diane sauce for my wife and myself and one with pepper sauce for my daughter.I have to say that my steak was so strong tasting of pepper that i left half of it.My wife commented that her steak was full of gristle and she too left most of her meal.My daughter however was happy with her meal .When the table was being cleared i told the staff member who i suspect was perhaps a manager due to her not wearing a uniform like other staff that i was not impressed with two of the meals and she said,sorry i will tell the chef to reduce the pepper on the steak,we were also not overjoyed with the way meals are served up on a hot metal dish on a wooded platter as we found it quite difficult to pick up the food with the metal dishes being so small. All three meals were also served up with onions which looked like they were in gravy under the steaks and onions were not mentioned on the description of the meal on the menu. we left,never to return again. Absolutely amazing food, I ordered the beef ribs and they just melted in my mouth 😋 Absolutely delicious. My husband had the tandori chicken and was as equally pleased. There was a quiz game on when we went and the football was on, and even though there was a fair few people in there we could still chat and enjoy our food, wthout if being too loud. I would definitely return. Also, remember to put your car registration in the machine as we almost got caught out despite the many signs. Lol. Definitely will return fir those ribs!

I have, along with the family been going there for the last couple of months for Sunday dinner. I have something different usually and have never been disappointed. The roast beef rib is a firm favourite amongst us. Always good portions and excellent value. Only had one issue and that was rectified immediately. The staff are excellent, very attentive and friendly, which makes the atmosphere in all the better. I really do not understand some of the ridiculous negative reviews on here. Looking forward to next visit.

We were visiting for a birthday meal, although we were advised by Sian that there was an hour wait for food, it was worth it. The food was amazing, the service was great and the atmosphere is always great. The sundae was a real midweek treat, made even better by being served by sex on legs, Sian.
