Quick and easy lunch. Nice and cosy atmosphere as with all Lounges, food was tasty, staff friendly and attentive. Pineapple punch was spot on. A good halfway spot for our journey back to the West Midlands.

Visited yesterday. Had two lattes, toasted tea, cake, and bacon and egg sandwich. Ordered on the app, very easy as always. drinks came quickly, my husband’s toasted tea cake came with marmalade instead of jam as the waitress said they had run out of jam. Not the end of the world and he enjoyed it anyway. My bacon and egg sandwich was lovely, hot and tasty. This lounge is a very big place, was relatively quiet when we visited but had a pleasant atmosphere. Would definitely visit again.

Was in Newark looking at property so had a look around town and found the Tambo Lounge for breakfast. It had a nice vibe, was very busy at 10.30am. I was soon found a table. Nice atmosphere, very friendly staff. Extensive breakfast menu and also for main meals. Have to order at the bar or via QR reader, not table service. Was impressed that when I ordered at the bar I was asked if I had any food allergies. Ordered a traditional breakfast. Despite how busy it was my tea arrived quickly and did not wait very long for my breakfast. Breakfast was very good with nice sausage, not cheap catering ones that sometimes get served. Loved the little button mushrooms. A very good tasty breakfast, decent portion. I really enjoyed it It was a lovely venue and felt friendly, obviously some regulars there we seemed to know each other. Would go back and would recommend. Who knows if move to Newark it might become my regular

We'd walked past the Tambo Lounge hundreds of times and never thought about actually going in. Until last week and we were far from disappointed. Two coffee, a cheesesteak sandwich and a fish finger sandwich was duly ordered. We waited and surveyed our surroundings while listening to the soothing jazz music playing quietly in the background. The restaurant has an open feel with tables set at respectful distances and it all feels very comfortable. Then the food arrived. Two of the most delicious sandwiches we've ever enjoyed were quickly devoured. They were fabulous, they really were.

Have visited twice in the last two weeks with different people. What a disappointment. Has the chef changed? Smaller portions for sure. And please could you ensure crayons are sharpened for the children.it is half term after all. The staff could do with putting on a smile too but appreciate it was very busy second time which is probably why we had a long wait it out food.

I am a frequent customer of various Lounges around the country, and am generally very impressed. I recently posted a a five star review for The Costero Lounge in Paignton. However today I was flying solo and wanted a light bite for my lunch, I have had lunch at The Lounge here in Newark many times, but today was a disappointment. I ordered the lunchtime special of soup and half a panini. I was asked if I wanted ‘meat’ soup or ‘veggie’ soup. Being asked if I wanted ‘meat’ soup was made to sound like a crime in itself as I can only assume the server was a vegetarian, which I am not. After a wait of 30 minutes (really) it was a Wednesday, I was presented with a coffee mug of microwaved lentil soup with the consistency of thick porridge. Upon investigation the ‘meat’ in question turned out to be pulled chicken. The problem was I had ordered soup, the mug was so full of shredded chicken that the soup was only about 30% of the mug. I ordered soup, not a chicken breast with lentil sauce. Now onto the panini, this was advertised as cheese and tomato. It was burnt to a crisp and impossible to eat unless cut with a knife into bite sized pieces. There were two slices of tomato and no sign whatsoever of any cheese. It is possible the cheese escaped and made a run for freedom during the half hour this was under the grill/heat lights. Within there was a dollop of pesto, a dollop of overly sweet tomato goo and a huge handful of rocket with three inch stalks sticking out of the panini. You may ask why I did not complain, but the server who bought the food was soo sweet I did not want to upset her, also I did not have another half hour to wait for a replacement, so I left without complaining.

We’ve been coming since day one of it opening. I don’t know if it’s the staff that’s changed or something but it isn’t the same anymore. Used to come in every week and had a bad experience and won’t be coming in again any time soon

Had some lovely afternoon & evening social drinks at this lovely bar but it seems the cost of everything has affected the quality & quantity of food. We will still pop in but just won’t eat.

Went today for lunch with a friend, wanted something lite but flavoursome. Saw cup of soup and half a tomato & mozzarella ciabatta for £5.95. The soup was pumpkin, parsnip and chilli which was amazing, one of the best meals we’ve had in there, would highly recommend.

Came last Thursday at 5.30 as going to the palace theatre, had a nice meal here once before so recommended to my friends, ordered drinks first no Pinot wine so settled for lager ok ! Then chose food two wanted steak two wanted buttermilk chicken, went to order only one steak !! So had to order 3 buttermilk chicken because we were limited to time and couldn’t study the menu again. Steak came it wasn’t to bad apart from quite a bit of grissle but the buttermilk chickens were awful all 3 dry and burnt breadcrumbs around the chicken breast, and to add to the bad experience approx 10 chips each plate, for £12 each it was a poor show of a meal £54 spent on food that 4 people didn’t enjoy, I emailed in the next day but have heard nothing back so had no choice but to give a poor but honest review on Tripadvisor

What a gem of a place in the centre of Newark. The menu will suit all tastes, we had the Goan Lamb Curry and Beef Brisket Chilli and certainly passed on our compliments as the food was so tasty. The restaurant has a very relaxed theme, tables well spaced apart and the staff polite and attentive. We'll worth a visit if you are in Newark

Lounges like these have always been my go-to when I'm on the road, and stumbling upon one tucked away in Newark was a delightful surprise. The breakfast here was nothing short of outstanding, hitting all the right notes to kickstart my day of travel. But the real star of the show? The fresh pink lemonade, which was so good it could've inspired poetry. It's just a shame that it came with a bit of a sting in the form of that 3.70 price tag, making me sip it slowly and savor every drop instead of my usual hearty gulping. Despite the cost, it was a memorable experience, and I'd gladly return for that refreshing pink lemonade any day!

Had the lounge breakfast again, only just warm. Came before and had to send the breakfast back because it was only just warm. Same gain on Sunday morning. I didn't bother sending it back this time but will not return for breakfast. My brother breakfast was the same, so it was not just me. I have had food here, and it's been OK, but breakfast is a disappointment. Great place to eat , staff friendly.

Started coming weekly with my 5 month old and our friends, the staff are so lovely and accommodating and the food is delicious! The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Would recommend trying the warm chocolate brownie with ice cream, even if your full from having a main.

Unexpectedly went into this bar/cafe looking for a spot of supper. Inside is very eclectic and mish mash but I love this kind of place. Nice array of tables and sofas and chairs. Really nice atmosphere with real candles on the tables. The menu is vast which I don’t normally like but I didn’t really see much of it because I was looking for light bites so we opted for the tapas. Chicken wings were lush and hummus very tasty. Beetroot salad was a very nice change. You really do need 3 each to fill you up but at £11.25 for 3 it was great value so you could always get more. We liked the ordering using codes from the table. The young man who served us was pleasant and chatty, overall we had a lovely evening and would definitely go back.

First time in Newark for some time. Decided to try Tambo lounge after reading the reviews. Was a really enjoyable brunch/ lunch. I ordered the lounge breakfast and my partner ordered the veggie breakfast. We also ordered a Long Island iced tea each. Really enjoyed the food and the drinks. The staff were welcoming and courteous. We weren't rushed to finish and leave. It gave us time to relax and take in the atmosphere. We will be back to try some of the other menu items. Many thanks

My partner and I went for brunch on a Sunday in April with friends. It was quite busy and yet a nice atmosphere inside. Staff were really friendly and polite. They had a nice energy about them. I had the vegan breakfast with avocado with a oat flat white. The breakfast was okay! Not bad, not amazing, but nice. I probably wouldn't opt for the avocado as an extra on the side again as there wasn't much of it and it was a little hard (I get avocados are always a bit hit and miss though). The oat flat white was delicious though!

Came in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and was not disappointed! There was so much on the menu that I wanted that we will be coming back so I can try something else! Service was quick, food came out when our drinks were still hot (food that takes so long that you finish your tea annoys me) server was very nice. The food tastes fantastic, I have the smashed avocado which was delicious, my husband had the lounge breakfast, the hash browns were particularly good! Will definitely come again!

Came for a meal out with my husband and can’t fault it. Have been a few times and always have had a lovely time and the food is always very enjoyable. I’m not sure if her name but she has impeccable eye liner has some of the best customer service I have seen.
