Tamashah in Crawley

Great if you are able to eat in or collect, well worth it, unfortunately for Delivery its awful! They are in the hands of Just Eat and Deliveroo who are a complete waste or time. Restaurant merrily accepts orders for later, but then when the time passes, fail to call the customer that they can't complete as Just Eat have no drivers!

As per usual we ordered our food . Once it arrived upon opening the bag the containers have not been sealed properly and the curry's have leaked into the bottom of the bag. Just so disappointed that they lack the care to make sure the food arrives presentable. This is the 3rd time ordering and the 3rd time this has happened. Will not be ordering from here again. The customer service is disgraceful as they never believe you when you ring to complain.

We came as 4 adults and 3 kids. Each one of us loved our dinner experience here. One of the kids said it was very clean and the food were nice. The other kid said that she loved the heart shaped fruits. My 3 yr old said he loved everything. The adults were all stuffed. We all loved it. The best to say is they have the best service staff here, friendly, welcoming, and made sure all of us are having a good time. Thank you everyone. Will definitely recommend, and we’ll surely come back.

We have eaten at the Tamasha Indian restaurant on numerous occasions, especially their Sunday Buffet. We’ve always been warmly welcomed and never felt rushed. It is well priced which means we can enjoy eating out occasionally. The restaurant offers a great selection of tasty dishes. Several weeks ago a situation arose with another customer which was dealt with professionally and promptly.

They have three different opening times…Their website let me make a reservation for 4:00, their front door sign said it opens at 4:30 and the restaurant’s staff said the restaurant opens at 5:00. I’ve wasted an hour of my time here and I wouldn’t recommend anyone come waste their time with such incompetence

We have had take aways from here before and they have always been excellent, we decided to visit their buffet, it was excellent plenty of choice and very fresh, in all an excellent experience, staff very polite and attentive

We went to ask couple of days ago if we need to book, someone said you dont need to if you come early. We arrived today at 5:20, the host was totally rude, we tried to explain what his colleague said. He said I can give you a table but leave in an hour ! This is my second time of visiting this buffet. Went last year, well before the pandemic of course and then now during August 2020.The food was plentiful and very good quality although the choice of main curries was a little bit limited.However- and this will be very important to some people reading this- as someone else mentioned in an earlier, there is no social distancing what so ever, tables still close together, I was sitting less than 1 meter away from another table. It was VERY busy. Plus, what amazed me the most? No one- and I mean no one at all was wearing the gloves for the buffet. So everyone mingling together, all touching the same serving utensils! No temperature checks taken either, as I believe is advertised.So, whilst in essence, this is a fairly decent restaurant, you may well want to think twice, due to the complete lack of anti-covid measures. I feel that's important to point out as just think of all those people touching the same utensils over and over again...

Second time eating here, last time was on a Sunday before March, had the buffet both times. Booked table for 7pm and the restaurant very, very busy. Feast or famine regarding the buffet, wait for onion Balajis and then no Samosas left, so wait again. Filling up the dishes was slow, to say the least. The choice of sweets was definitely limited. The restaurant had provided hand gel and gloves, and the staff all wore masks, but social distancing was completely disregarded while queueing for food and between tables. Not enough staff on duty so could have walked out without paying, in the end went up to till to pay and, thankfully, leave.

First visit to this restaurant and came away very impressed. Great variety and quality of food, very welcoming staff, and anti-Covid measures were obvious and seemed very appropriate. 2 for 1 pricing through August eat out initiative didn't hurt.Overall delighted with our choice of restaurant.

Ordered a takeaway for collection on Tuesday evening. We collected food about 6.30pm.We had visited this restaurant in the past and always received good food and service. We were defintely not disappointed with the take outEverything we ordered was excellent quality. Portion sizes were generous, food was piping hot and everything was well cooked and very tasty.We did have an issue over the price in the first instance as we were quoted online delivery prices (deliveroo/justeat/ubereats) which were considerably higher than the printed menu prices. However this was resolved and prices honoured.I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will defiantly use them again. However we will continue to collect from the restaurant for takeaway

Looked after by Raju, I had a wonderful evening meal. As complimented on previous visits, the food and service is excellent and I can only highly recommend this superb venue to singles, couples, families with children and corporate groups. Fab :-)

We went for lunch at Tamashah and enjoyed the food very much. Usually we are not a huge fan of buffets as sometimes they’re not as fresh as they could be but we were pleasantly surprised at how lovely the food was. A good selection suitable for both children and adults at a reasonable price. I’m sure dinner would be just as nice too. The service was an absolute delight - we were served by the lovely Marcos who made our experience at Tamashah very enjoyed as he was super friendly and attentive with a huge smile on his face. We would definitely recommend for everyone. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Visited with a number of seniors for lunch following a morning 10 pin bowling session at Crawley Bowl, we had pre-booked and on arrival I was impressed with the dining area and was pleased to find that our group had been allocated tables in a separate raised area at the rear of the restaurant. The interior was pleasantly decorated and on arrival we ordered drinks at the bar and were served by pleasant bar staff. As far as food is concerned the restaurant operates on a self service buffet basis and offered a range of hot well cooked items ranging from starters through an extensive selection of main course dishes, all of which seemed to be cooked well and encompassed a range of flavours from mild to quite spicy dishes. A number of interesting desserts were available and a surprisingly tasty rice pudding. Once one had finished a plate of food waiters removed the plates and clean ones were available to enjoy further visit to the buffet. Overall this was an enjoyable meal of an entirely satisfactory standard, i would visit again.

I have eaten the Buffet here 3 times now, Sunday evening,Friday&Saturday Lunchtime.On each occasion the food has been of a good/reasonable quality , as with any Buffet,the longer the food sits in the containers it loses its quality,especially with Chicken going dry.You cannot fault the multiple options starters- Bhajis/Tikka,salads&chutneys,Mains from Korma-Jalfrezi incl Prawn dishes, Veg choices too-Mushrooms were great plus the Gulab Jalam for Dessert.Apart from the obvious problem of Food going dry, the only improvement i could suggest is the changing the 'serving containers' - water vapour builds up on the inside if these , so when you open the lid the water drips/runs into the food below.There is one Waiter there who far outshines the others but unfortunately i do not know his name- i would describe him but anybody who gets served by this Waiter will know immediately if it is him or not.

Take away experience - The best curry house in Crawley by a long shot.I have ordered from here twice and I can honestly say- this is simply the best,the food is fresh the portions are ample and the flavours are bursting!Reasonably priced,larger portions (the amount of chicken in a curry is more than anywhere else). I requested a couple of changes, for instance I couldn’t find garlic chilli mushrooms - so I ordered mushroom bhaji and requested chilli and garlic was added to the dish, simply delicious!!!Curry is probably my favourite cuisine and finding somewhere that is delicious,generous and value for money is hard to find! I think it’s safe to say I know where I will be ordering my curry from everyone - I will venture into the restaurant at some point to see if it’s half as good despite it being very busy according to other reviews! Called in with a friend on a busy Friday evening. Despite making a booking we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table, which was crammed in between two others without much room for privacy. We were left by our host with no explanation of how and what we could eat or drink and had to ask. It was ok after that. There was a good selection with a few weird inclusions such as noodles, spring rolls and chips. It was nice to see some more authentic looking dishes also, although the crowd pleasing tikka masala and korma etc all present. Food quality seemed good for a buffet and was regularly replenished with fresh supplies. Dessert was fresh fruit, some mass produced looking cakes and weirdly, rice pudding. Bottomless soft drinks were welcome, but there’s a bar and the usual wine list if that’s your thing. It was very busy and crowded and a bit raucous downstairs, no idea what things are like in the a la carte restaurant above. But the very large ground floor was pleasant enough although a few rough edges, the step up to the toilet being one extremely annoying hazard that wouldn’t take much to fix. For a Friday night at £19 per head, with decent food and plenty of choice, it was not bad at all, but needs to do a little tidying here and there, and maybe lay on a couple of extra staff members because we found it hard to find someone whenever we needed to.

A few friends and I chose this place to eat as it was reasonably priced and in a central location for most of us.The inside of the restaurant is modern, light and airy and has plenty of seating. We were quickly shown to a table by a welcoming member of staff who explained how the buffet worked and took our drinks order.The buffet itself was fairly limited in terms of variety of curry dishes available and was a very small subset of what you would find on the A la carte menu. It also included things like onion bhajis, samosas, chips, popadoms and salad. The food was OK but I have had tastier and more varied buffets, although I can't say whether the same would apply to the full menu which I didn't get a chance to look at on the night. For the price you pay its good value for money, but I would have liked to see more choice and if not, a bit more effort put into those dishes they did put out. I should add that a couple of my friends with me also expressed the same sentiments.All in all a nice place with friendly staff but the buffet might not be the best option if you really enjoy a good curry

The food was good, we arrived around 7pm which was quiet and then it got very busy around 8pm! Food good value for money and we opted for the buffet. Drinks took very long to come to table considering we were the basically the only one in the restaurant at time of ordering. I had a pornstar martini which was just juice basically, so I don't think drinks were good value for money. Stick to lower priced beer.

Great tasting, quality food and amazing value. Included traditional starters (with popadoms, salads, and garnish) such as onion Bhaji and samosas. There was a great choice of curry’s which were really tasty, great vegetarian selection too. Buffet even included chips! There was also a small range of traditional Indian deserts and fruits. The buffet at lunch for £10.95 all you can eat with unlimited soft drinks for an extra £3.50. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Great selection of food and super tasty. The meat was soft and juicy. The rice was cooked to perfection. Very good selection of sauces, chutneys and salads to accompany the poppadoms. Fast service to be seated and to get my husbands drink (I had a fizzy drink refill). The drink station was pretty good with ice, lemon and lime slices to accompany the drinks freely available. The tables and atmosphere were lovely and music was at a great level and very inkeeping with the tone of the restaurant.

Stumbled across this place while looking for a spot to eat in Crawley. Wow! We were lucky to get a seat as it was packed and most had reservations. It was a buffet with all kinds of Indian options. So fresh and so good! Loved that we could try everything! And such a nice server as well!! 10 out of 10!

Visited here early on a Friday evening with my friend and her son. The food was incredible and of restaurant quality which is unusual for a buffet in my experience. There was lots of dishes to choose from and it was all flavoursome, hot and freshly cooked. The restaurant space was well laid out with plenty of space between tables. The waiting staff were attentive and friendly and the price was very reasonable considering the quality and choice of food. I will definitely come back here when I am next in Crawley and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys eating in Indian restaurants.

My daughter recommended Tamashah and we went there for lunch yesterday. I was really impressed by the service as our waiter was particularly attentive without being OTT. The food selection was comprehensive and all the dishes were very tasty. We will certainly return and believe this restaurant may challenge some of the other Indian establishments within the area.

Visited on Christmas Eve with my dad, opted for the a la carte rather than the buffet.

The buffet here provides a reasonable choice at an affordable prce. The quality was good, the food kept replenished and the service good. The place was clean and bright although the atmosphere a bit like a canteen. Overall I believe it offers good value. To set expectations. however, the choice here is nowhere near as extensive as you get in a traditional restaurant nor does the quality match that available at the best Indians in town - which is what you might expect given that you'll pay a lot more at these other establishments.

Unfortunately this place did not live upto the hype, if you're vegaterian like me, and opting for the buffet, you better like side dishes. I visited with my friend who is disabled, and luck would have it, the disabled toilets were out of order. Also the music was way too loud, and kept jumping some and cutting out for minutes at a time, then full volume again. But the main problem was the buffet stations kept running out of plates and food, the wait for food was 15 minutes at a time, this was a joke, I had 2 beers all night as I couldn't get the attention of the waiter due to him being rushed off his feet. And to top it all off, they had no Naan bread every time I went up to the buffet. This place was poorly organised for the amount of traffic at Christmas.

Went for lunch with a party of friends ....... Price gone up ....... food very tasty and well prepared but fried dishes poorly presented (stored in containers with lids making what should to be crispy items soggy and soft ......... Visited this place when it open a while ago for a try, then it became my favourite curry place. Unbelievably tasty Seafood and big prawn dishes. I visit at least two times in a month. Never had any issue, friendly staffs, fresh and great flavour of foods which deserves recognitions. And I am glad it did won the best restaurant of South East award. I can see they really put their passion to cater us. Highly recommended!

The meaning of ‘Tamasha’ to create a fuss or commotion, they certainly live up to this!

First visit and Wow! the place is really nicely decorated and laid out, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food is wonderful, an amazing selection of starters mains and deserts and all at a very reasonable price. We will definitey be regular customers.
