Cinnamon in Crawley

This is a great restaurant And an absolute bargain if you visit on a Tuesdaygood food good service the chicken biryani is excellent

Haven't been here for a long time as COVID hit and we just didn't go out as much after, but fancied a curry and knew that Cinnamon done a Banquet Night for a very good price and decided to pay them a visit. It was not very busy at the restaurant whilst we were there, but the staff were friendly as always. Unfortunately that's where it ended, the food just wasn't the same as we remember. The Dahl Tarka was flavourless and very disappointing, we actually had to add salt to it to make it edible. Chicken in both curry was really dry, but we were hungry and just ate our food. The Pawari Naan was gorgeous though. It is noted by ourselves that the food has changed and it really is a shame as the staff are lovely and friendly, even the owner is always very welcoming, but the main event is the food and this makes us come back for more, sadly on this occasion we were left questioning whether we would.

First of all, l would like to point out that this is not an Indian restaurant, it is Bangladeshi. Myself and 5 friends were subjected to a meal there this evening. We were all disappointed with the food, however, being British we did not complain(well l did) The lamb was clearly mutton as it was as tough as Lino, one of our friends ordered chicken that was as dry as an old stick, even the beer was warm. I could go on but what is the point! I can honestly say that the food was appalling!!! And to add insult to injury it was £199 and that was without a starter. Do yourself a favour do not bother.

Normally we love it here but not been for a while. The draught cobra was warm, when we asked to order we still waited another 10 minutes, we asked again but still had to wait while they took someone else’s order who had just come in and put table cloths on tables which were then not occupied for another 45 minutes! The onion bhajis were very dry and didn’t taste of much. The lamb was very chewy which was a big disappointment. The saag paneer wasn’t that flavoursome either and have had much tastier from elsewhere. The wait for food was long also and the staff didn’t seem that attentive in our opinion. Big shame!

Excellent service and a great curry. I had Lamb Madras cooked perfect and my wife had King Prawn Balti which she loved. Not expensice which was a bonus.

I have used this restaurant for over 20 years. I missed it when it had to close because of Covid, and I was pleased when it opened after the fire. But I’m afraid the food just isn’t as good as it was. They have clearly changed the people that used to cook the best curry in Crawley and replaced them with people that can’t deliver the same quality! It’s such a shame but it’s not what it was.

Very good service and delicious food. Booking is preferable but we were stopping at the Prem Inn not far away and wanted a curry. Nice setting and modern

Been going here for a number of years and know the owner well. Ate in a couple of weeks ago and the meat was dry. Decided to give them another go today to get a delivery and got the same experience of dry meat. Sauce was good though. The keema Nan was not a proper keema and lacked any taste. Such a shame. But for the prices that are being charged I will not be going back.

Never had a good meal from here but thought I would give it another go since it’s reopened and is my neighbourhood restaurant. Unfortunately still the same bad bland food ,the kitchen definitely shows no skill of the use of spices. My lamb madras came as a thick congealed tasteless sauce,looked like it had been thickened with bistro granules it was so bad.And to sum up the poor lack of skill from the kitchen even the saag aloo was the blandest I’ve ever ear him and,literally defrosted frozen spinach and boiled potatoes with no other flavour,the naan bread looked like it had just been warmed in microwave with no charred outside from being warmed in a Tandoor oven. I’ve had better Indian food in a Cafe,the owner must be aware of the poor quality this restaurant is serving. To sum up,probably the most unauthentic Indian food I’ve ever tasted ,nowhere near as good as Blue India or The Downsman.

This is the worst Indian food I've eaten in Britain in living memory, and there is honestly a lot of tough competition in that category. I've eaten Indian / desi food in at least a dozen countries, including the countries of origin, and only in rural Canada have I seen a level of mediocrity that comes close to this meal. The butter bakori cream king prawn and the muttor paneer were both.just swimming in sicky sweet, bland cream, no taste that in any way brought to mind the sub-continent. The saag chana at least looked right, but after an initial taste that seems promising, it simply becomes tasteless again, lacking not only spices, but even basic salt and pepper. For these three dishes (both veg. dishes were small), two pilau rice and one (bland) garlic naan, it cost over 50 GBP ... Absolute rip off...

Cinnamon reopened 3 weeks ago, and I am so pleased to report it just as good as it ever was, warm friendly staff, great food and great atmosphere, it like having dinner with extended family. The staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble and more than happy to help advise if you’re not sure what to have, we have been using this restaurant for year's now and have never had a bad meal. ordered a takeaway tonight for 2 people both meals were the same. After 45mins it still had not arrived so asked what was going on and was told it would be with us soon ., it turned up 15 mins later and when checking we only had one meal! when we said it was for 2 meals they quarried it with us saying we had only paid for one meal luckily we paid by debit card and kept the receipt another 15 mins later we got both meals. At no time were we offered an apology or evan a cup of coffee for waiting so long. Once we got home one of the meals was cold were it had hung around waiting for the second to be cooked. This restaurant has only just reopened and to be honest we were vey disappointed

Never used this restaurant as had a very regular other place but with issues we tried Cinnamon as a friend said its nice. We were very pleased with food ot was very flavoursone and fresh tasting .i had shaslik and the chicken was very moist had lots of veg my partner enjoyed his dish as well & his prawn starter. Delivery was quick as well. Will try again for sure.

Very disappointed with our takeaway tonight not a lot of flavor and lots of watery liquid very surprised as last time we ate here the food was amazing not sure what’s happened such a shame when it cost me £40 for a takeaway

Ordered a takeaway earlier this evening. I chose the Chicken Chettinad as I never tried it before. I put the dish on my plate and it was swimming in water which soaked up all the rice. The special rice was not very special either. Considering the food in this place is not the cheapest , I thought they would have produced better quality food . Won’t be going back

Last day of Eat Out To Help Out so decided to give local restaurant a go, several were full but this restaurant said they had a table for 9pm. Arrived on time but had to wait at bar for a few mins til table was ready, restaurant was the most crowded, noisy one I have ever been in - seemed twice as packed as my previous visit here a few years earlier, so extra spacing between tables and crammed to capacity. No paper menus but usual grubby laminated ones handed to us at table. Felt distinctly uncomfortable throughout our time there and couldn't wait to get out. Staff were ok, food average but atmosphere appalling! As other tables cleared it became a little less busy but don't think the staff had any Covid training or additional safety procedures in place. As customers left the staff only gave very brief wiping of tables, never cleaned any of the chair services. Would not go here again

This was our first meal out with family since lockdown. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived. We were expecting tables to be spaced further apart, but they were very close together. The menus on the table were just the normal paper menus which were clearly being reused. The food service was prompt and very nice. However, as soon as we had finished and did not require dessert, we were passed the bill and told they really needed the table which I felt was very rude as we’d only been there an hour. I felt the restaurant was overcrowded and we were made to feel we couldn’t stay and enjoy our meal before being rushed out after only being there one hour. This has put me off eating here in the near future.

After being recommended this restaurant by a family member, we decided to order a takeaway for delivery for Fathers Day. I ordered online just after 6pm and received an email saying our food would be with us by 6.41pm. It got to 7.15pm and still no sign of the food so called the restaurant. The gentleman advised that he would get hold of the delivery and driver and call me straight back. After 10 minutes, I still hadn't received a call, so called them again. I spoke to the same gentleman that then advised me that our food was ready and had been sitting on the hot plate. They only had 1 delivery driver on to cover the whole of the orders and he had no idea where this driver was. At this point I questioned why would they take so many orders knowing they only had 1 delivery driver and the fact that i was worried that our food would not be hot and inedible. His response was "well of the food is cold, then we can sort something for you next time"!!! There definitely wasn't going to be a next time. In this call he also decided to answer another line (without telling me), where I could hear another complaint about someone waiting for their food. Our food eventually arrived around 8pm (only an hour and 20 minutes late!!) and was luke warm at best. I will never be ordering from here again!!! Absolutely disgusting service!!!!

Service!!! Sorry but there was none. Welcomed!! Didn’t feel like it. Food!! Just as good as the service, dull pland. Not a good choice of restaurant. Maybe a bad night but has put us off for ever. Blue India for me is still no1. To be fair a take away from Sainsbury would be better then theirs..

First class food and service. Best Indian meal ever. We visited this evening in order to celebrate a family birthday

We wanted a takeaway as otherwise we would have gone to our usual. Ordered a Paneer dish and a couple of sides, naan and rice. The paneer was scarlett with no flavour, apart from what I can only imagine was colouring. The rice was soggy and all round the food was bland despite asking for extra chilly in the side dishes. I have no idea how this restaurant is so well reviewed. Will stick to the Parsons Pig in future.

I think this is probably our favourite Indian restaurant in Crawley. We visited a few days ago and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Everything had a distinct flavour and was delicious. I had the Chicken Chettinad, which was really lovely and the naan bread was particularly good. The service is friendly and efficient.

Delicious and great value. With takeaway , dhansaks accompnied by pilau rice , relish and yogurt sauce which are included in the price of the curry. Staff always very pleasant and efficient.

Ok. Oh dear it is busy on a Saturday night. However that was just about the best curry I have ever had. Will definately be going back. Very good indeed.

This was one of the top 3, if not top, Indian restaurants in Crawley. Unfortunately standards are slipping, the food can still be very good but it is very hit and miss, I have been there 3 times in the last 3 weeks and had the same dish.The first 2 were excellent but the yesterday was not good. The food is not consistent anymore, perhaps they need to let the customers know what Chef is on duty?

Really enjoyed our meal. Everything was hot and very tasty. Will 100% return again. There was 4 of us dining and we thought the food was very reasonably priced also.

£7 for King Prawn Butterfly,£9 for Butter Chicken(5 small pieces of chicken)£5 pint shandy or cobra! Well this place used to be really good but they have got expensive and small portions of food. Constantly removing your empty dishes and hovering to see if you have finished! Very rushed even on a quiet night. Takeaways aren’t much better either.

Do I really have to give them a star. Absolutely awful. Don't bother with the mixed grill. The lamb looked like it had been cooked in a fashion under running water from the tap. No shish just a chicken leg that was very dry put on top of this mess. This was a take out. I have eaten here before in the restaurant and would give them zero stars for that but didn't think they could mess up with a mixed grill. I am not too sure who they cater for in taste but in my opinion it's no one unless their taste buds are shot. Go to the greyhound and be pleasantly surprised.

Ordered takeaway for dinner chicken passanda shami kebab pilau rice nan bread all x2 pick up on time dry chicken stodgy rice tasteless sauce kebabs came with no yogurt dip very poor I’m so disappointed as usually good looks like it time to find somewhere else good bye cinnamon

I always use cinnamon because off the quality off the food but tonight when I ordered my takeaway it was not good. For starters it was cold and the passanda sauce was congealed and no taste at all. The Shami kebab well it looked like a McDonald’s burger

Again told 35-40 min to collect, still 35 min extra wait in restaurant, no mention of a discount even when asked, attitude was terrible and didn’t care.

Wow! What a place. Great variety of curries from different areas of India with their own unique spice blends. Incredible service comes as standard. The food is sublime and we cannot recommend highly enough. Lovely personal touch as they always have a beer poured as my husband parks the car when he goes for take-away (unusually weekly or fortnightly). Never had a bad meal eating in or out. Always fresh. Always piping hot. Always delicious. Bravo Cinnamon!!

I visited with a friend for an informal dinner. As we entered I was very impressed with the decor, definitely a cut above the average. The menu had an excellent selection of main courses, we chose the Lamb Rajastani and a Malaba Prawn Curry. The meal arrived pleasantly rapidly, and both were absolutely delicious. The sauce with the lamb, in particular, had a lovely subtle spice mix, which tasted freshly ground. We shared a plain rice and plain nan, the nan had a lovely buttery taste. This was the sort of Indian food I hope to be offered when I eat out, in generous portions. If i were local I would be back again, soon.

Visited Cinnamons for a sit down meal with family on late Sunday afternoon. I have to say the food was great. The staff were friendly and they gave the option of chicken and chips to 2 of my youngest children as they are fussy eaters whilst the older children and adults could enjoy a deli oust Indian meal.

We thought we would try the Cinnamon for a change from our normal curry house. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was also good. The one thing we did think is that the prices were a little high, but apart from that a nice evening out

Popped in the night before a relatives wedding and was amazed at just how good this restaurant is. It was very busy but the staff were amazing and coped very well. The food is of a very high quality and the staff will help if Indian food isn't something you eat very often.

Chose this restaurant for a “date night” with my boyfriend based upon a recommendation from a family member. Made to feel welcome upon arrival and after a short wait our table was ready. Atmosphere was nice-not too loud but enough customers in there for there to be background noise. Food was delicious-we waited quite a long time for it but I didn’t mind at all!!! Horrendously rude waiters. Went in for dinner 4 of us. Was overcharged by them adding another main to our bill. Then acted as if they had done us a favour by taking it off. Then we looked at the price of the drinks. I understand a pint of coke being £4.50 (even though that’s very expensive) but a lime and soda being the same price. Waiter was incredibly rude and dismissive. Will never be going back.

We went to Cinnomons last night with our young daughter,the service was exceptional from start to finish and the waiting staff really made a fuss of our daughter and made her feel special.

6 of us went for an early evening meal at the Cinnamon. The food was good, the service excellent and the owners offered us all a free brandy or Baileys on paying the bill. Just what the doctor ordered!

As usual does not disappoint. We regular have a takeaway every other Friday from here. Food is good and good service even when waiting. Would also recommend to eat in.

My husband I love this restaurant and often go the Sunday Buffet. There are a couple of things the proprietors could do to greatly prove the patrons visits. The buffet is arranged on the table close to the door, the containers lids are lengthy open and because it is close to the door the food is not as hot as it should be. Also there is nothing to advise what dishes are on offer as diners have to guess what each dish is. Description by each would be most welcome as it is impossible to tell from the appearance.

I like Indian food, but this one has surpassed my previous experiences by far! Was not able to finish all the food, taking a doggy bag to enjoy it later!

The restaurant is justifiable popular and was packed out on an evening one might expect to be quiet. Nevertheless the food was good and, despite the rush, the service excellent. All my party were happy with their menu choices, and it was extremely good value with the restaurant's "Tuesday Banquet Night" deal.

The lamb in the curry was very tough and did not even taste of lamb. The Chicken curry ordered by my partner would’ve been better from a Shop bought tin. When I complained I was told that it was THEIR standard fare .. Needless to...

We thought we would try out this place as I wanted to book a table for ten of us on Saturday. I’m very glad we tried it out! Don’t waste your money! It was one of the worst Bangladeshi restaurants I have ever encountered. The lamb was gristly and tough. The Popadoms were not cooked and still raw. Waiters were too busy talking amongst themselves to enquiry if we were “happy”

We booked last minute but were told they had space. Upon arriving everything initially seemed fine until we had to wait nearly an hour for our mains. When I asked why it has taken so long and other people served before us one of the waiters just laughed and said he would get the manager. He didn't so I had to ask again. When the manager came over he said he that they were busy and he had done us a favour by letting us come there! No word of apology and was very rude. When we said we would give bad reviews he just walked off and said see if I care. As we paid and we were leaving he was very sarcastic. I complained again and said we shouldn't be spoken to like this and he said he doesn't care and that everyone in the restaurant knows his name and walked away laughing. Appalling service with mediocre food. Would not reccomend.

Overall not a bad place to eat ,Waiters are a bit reserved ,maybe they dont want to offend you .The food is what you would expect from a decent restaurant ,plenty of parking nearby.

Helt greit sted, men masalaen var ikke god! Gå for en av stedets spesialiteter, som falt i smak hos oss. Servicen imponerte ikke. Selv om masalaretten straks ble satt til side, kom ingen å spurte oss om vi var fornøyd med maten. Hjelper ikke med hvit duk og lys på bordet da. Rett skal være rett: Vi slapp å betale for retten vi ikke spiste (chicken masala).

This was a first time visit but will not be the last. We had an excellent meal & couldn't fault it. There were 6 in our party, 5 opted for the Tuesday banquet for £13.95 fantastic value for money and lots of options on this menu.It includes popadoms & chutneys, a starter, a main, a veg and either rice or bread.I would suggest booking if going on a Tuesday, the place was packed.

Decent Food & Ambiance . we, a family of fours, were really not hungry but were there hoping to enjoy some good taste .. However were surprised-cum-shocked when we were told that we need to spend £15.00 pp. The decent taste of food left a bitter taste !Would never visit again !

This visit serves three of us. Food was delicious tasty and blended well with Indian spices. The papadoms come with sauces and hits the spot. One of us was vegetarian, he enjoyed the variety. Portions were generous and filling. The biriyani's were lovely, beef and prawn, however the prawn biriyani had non deveined prawns which I left out, but tasted lovely. The Mango lassi was refreshing. Pleasing mannered staff and very helpful, make your spice intake known to be tailored made to a spicy tongue. Reasonably priced and served steaming hot. Worth a second visit whilst in Crawley.

Had a takeaway for the first time in 12 years as I was in the area. Only had a main course and rice .FIrst of all I paid over £12 which seemed a lot . The food was mediocre with very small portions .These places need to start waking up to the fact that there is a lot of local alternatives. Won't be going back

i've been here from the week they first opened over 15 years ago with my ex wife. only two people in there that first evening. been coming back ever since on and off over the years with various people. food wise, well there is plenty of choice, the staff are usually attentive (will come back to that). and the food is very nice. my father was never a curry eater yet he loves it in there. from the nice decoy to the music and the complimentary baileys or brandy at the end. now the staff are usually attentive, but when the owner (who has been there from the start back in the early 2000's) isn't there, the pace of things is slower. i've commented on this over the years if we go in there and the boss isn't there. that's not at a detriment to anything really, just that the above and beyond attentiveness is lacking if the boss is away.will continue to visit. it's a shame that such a nice place is stuck in a 50's development local shopping parade rather than something more classier.

We were the first customer in this restaurant when it opened and have been going here ever since about once a week sometimes twice We have never had a bad meal yet and don't expect too! Taric and the team are like family and always make us welcome 2years ago we moved 180 miles away and we still make the trip whenever we can as we miss our favourite curry house Please note that Bangladesh restaurant serve the best curries as they spend more time on flavour rather than heat you should enjoy the taste of the mixed spices rather than the HEAT See you soon guys

For some years we've used Cinnamon as our default choice for a super Indian meal. We just loved the food from here (whether site down or take away) and though it's always been on the dearer side of Crawley Indians, we've always felt it's worth it. We noticed the last time we went that they'd hiked their prices - fair do, prices do go up! However, the food was lovely so we considered it acceptable. This time...no, they've gone too far! The price hike is one things, but all portion sizes were significantly reduced and the (take away) food was cold. Less food for more money and lesser quality.That's it, we're off elsewhere now. Cinnamon management: if you take the time to read this then be aware that you can't rely on a good reputation and previously good value to mask bad changes. These things are noticed and people these days - even trusted regulars - vote with their feet. Take nothing for granted, least of all your regular custom.

This is a lovely Curry House, the staff are very helpful and efficient, and will do virtually anything to help, you want it hotter or not, whatever your tastes, they will try to satisfy your needs. Food is superb and really tasty, and, whilst not the cheapest Curry House in the Area, the food is worth the little extra. Give it a try.....

Great restaurant. We thought we would try the the Sunday buffet for £10.95. We didn't book in advance but only had to wait a couple of minutes to get a table. Staff were polite and helpful in explaining the dishes that were on offer. The food was lovely and plenty of options available. Everybody went up for 2nd. We will definitely be back.

need to sort out your take away ordered at 7 pm was told it would be ready to collect at 7.30 pm got it at about 8.25 there were about 15 people waiting for takeaway food even when I got it home it was luke warm and had to microwave it

This restaurant does what I would call 'standard Indian' cuisine and does it well. The decour is clean sharp and modern. The service was attentive with a sense of humour. Our group had the Tuesday buffet option which is great value, though with a packed restaurant we did have to ask. Everyone had more than enough to eat. I'll be returning.

It was great and very encouraging to see the place so busy on the night of a football match. The staff were very attentive, friendly and polite and the service was always very quick (and it was nice to be asked if we were ready yet for our main courses)The food was very well cooked and presented and didn't arrive so quickly that we would worry us about the freshness. It all tasted excellent. The food isn't cheap but you do get what you pay for, and with the great atmosphere we'll definitely be back!

This restaurant is regularly visited by my cousin and her partner. I have been before but only when it was a set meal. The food was extremely good, and the people lovely. I could not recommend this highly enough.

Went to visit England in may 16 and were dying for a good indian meal! We were in England for 5 days and only found time on the very last night there! I searched the internet for and indian restaurant and found Cinnamon which was not too far from our hotel. The restaurant was nice enough but the main waiter was not over pleasant (if he is indian Ill eat my hat)! The food was ok though so it made up a bit for the waiter. Wont be going back!

This restaurant serves the best Indian food I have ever tasted. It's all cooked to order and the portions are generous. It's no more expensive than other restaurants but what you get is of far better quality and tastes absolutely delicious. Also the service is brilliant.

A first visit to this nicely decorated restaurant proved to be a real result. We arrived at evening opening time and found the staff very helpful and attentive without being intrusive and the food was excellent and good value. We will be back before too long.

We ate here last week and had a brilliant meal, the waiter advised on popular dishes and was able to match a main meal to my taste. Only negative is that I felt slightly rushed from starter to main, however the quality of the food was great

Been to the Cinammon Spice many times before and previously it has always been a high standard of both food and good service.From my first comment you may guess where I am going with thisThe food as usual was excellent (if you ignore the ordering) and I would have no hesitation in recommending it.ButThe service was shocking, yes they were very busy, but have more staff or less tables.After ordering my drink four, yes four times I finally received it after all a coke is difficult. We eat two lots of chutney etc before someone took our order, even then the waiter asked twice if he could leave us and come back as they were busyThis s NOT good enough we felt like we were intruding in a service industry you have to do better sorry.Will we return probably but I hope it's better next time.

Simply spot on, 10/10 across the board, we won't ever go anywhere else, they're not the cheapest, but well worth every penny.

Visited Cinnamon recently for my birthday meal with my partner and friends. Food was superb and the service was very good too. The menu is a bit different from some restaurants but has some great dishes. Would definitely visit again.

Just had a lovely meal here. You could tell they were very busy but we didn't feel rushed and the food it's self was spot on!!! The poor waiters we're clearly struggling a little but did maintain excellent levels of service but made some minor errors (like nearly giving us the wrong food). Will 100% be visiting again :)
