Tamanna's in Calderdale

Was staying at a friend's in Pecker Well, by hebden, I'm from Liverpool. She recommended here, so drove down. Lovely friendly guy. And was not disappointed, the food was excellent , we ordered the usual starters and two veggie meals , food was excellent and plenty of it. Would highly recommend. Be there again in next visit.

First time using, will definitely be back - food was one of the best take out curries we have ever had, they delivered too!!

Walked past the takeaway and the smell was amazing so decided to give it a try. So glad we did the food was the best we have had in a very very long time. The curries are cooked to your liking mild, moderate, hot, all with freshly ground spices that are so flavoursome. They said delivery would be an hour but it was only 45 minutes. For food this good we would have waited the hour. We will be returning to Mytholmroyd at some point in the next 12 months and will definitely be having a curry from here. (Ps we were only in Mytholmroyd for 4 nights and we had food from here twice, it was that good!

Wow. Absolutely loved this place. Stayed over at a mates and they chose this place as the best takeaway for miles. I'm not a massive fan of "Spicy spicy curries" and this place was absolutely perfect for me. I had a Tamanna's special with some tandoori chicken and some chicken wings. The special was a mild dish and oh my word- The spices (Which they ground themselves) Were wondrous, all the meat (Chicken, prawn, lamb) was cooked to perfection. The portion size was more than enough. The tandoori chicken was out of this world, honestly, get yourself a portion of that if you like a starter, as for the wings- The meat fell off the bones- Chefs kiss! I popped in the next day to tell them how much I enjoyed the meal, I don't go to Mytholmoroyd often, but I'll be making a point of doing so in the future just for this place. The delivery took around an hour and it was worth the wait, trust me, it's worth the wait. DO NOT MISS THIS TAKEAWAY!

Lived up to memory from 3 years ago. Easily the best curry in Calderdale. Starters are fresh and great, they obviously take pride in their work. A must visit!

After burning pizza (Yes I did), my daughter and I drove down to the takeaway. We were greeted by Junior who literally made us laugh. We are from the south and we ascertained that he had an uncle who had a takeaway in our neighbouring home town. 5 mins had pasted by now and we had still not ordered. We ordered our food and were advised it was a 20 minute wait. Don't worry there is a pub across the road! The wait was worthwhile. The food was amazing and good sized portions. We even ordered pickled onion pakoras which were amazing. Please dont hesitate in getting a takeaway from here its fab.

Lovely takeaway meal delivered to the caravan park in Mytholmroyd. We had the tandoori chicken which was huge, succulent and tasty and the mushroom and sweet corn masala. Highly recommend and we are fussy!

We where staying at an Airbnb and was told it was a good curry so we decided to try and we did not regret it was best we have had we will be getting again when we are back in that area

Not really sure what's happened with this order as never had a problem before, if they've changed chefs, go back.Spent £39 for 3 side portions, a starter, chips, popadom, nann, rice and two cans of pop.. Not really sure why so expensive, wouldn't have minded if it was nice.Tarka Dhal was literally water, not a chick pea in sight, shocking they even sent that out.The side Mahkani curry wasn't curry atall, basekly just mango pulp with about 6 mushrooms in.Cans of pop wer warm. Rice and chips wer OK. Really let down, what a shame as usually so nice

We were in Yorkshire on holiday and I always associate W.Yorks with good Indian food, so we fancied a takeaway at our holiday home. We went for the one which Tripadvisor said was the better one in the area, which was Tamanna's. Efficient telephone service. Delivery on time from chatty driver (who may have been the owner, I think). Food was excellent. Good portions. Tasty. I probably over ordered as I forget Northern portions are so big, so some of it was served as side dishes for dinner the next night. The only problem was they delivered the pickle selection but forgot the poppadoms. I can forgive them as it was good.

Being new to the area has been a bit of trial and error finding a good takeaway that does delivery. Thankfully I've found it with Tamannas. Exceptional food and equally exceptional people. So genuinely friendly and pleasant. Very reasonably priced too. I won't be trying any other takeaway now. More than happy. 10*'s

This little gem near the station in Mytholmroyd does the best curries for miles around. Don’t let the roadworks put you off - they deliver too. My favourite curry dish is an Aloo Gobi - but too often this dish is too wet, too oily or too hot - But not at Tamannas, theirs is tops. Can highly recommend.

Absolutely love Tamanna's. Wonderful and varied menu, and the food is a treat. Happily working my way through the menu - the duck masala is a favourite!Junior who handles the orders is always up for a laugh and always has a huge smile on his face.Definitely worth a try if you're in the area!

I’ve lived in a few different parts of the U.K. and always enjoyed top notch curries made with attention to detail and quality. Simply put I’d most definitely put Tamannas up there with the best of them. Keep up the good work Junior and the gang!

The food here is amazing, we get takeaways from here whenever we have a special occasion. The best part is that we always have enough left over for curry breakfast!

The service was great, very friendly and helpful. However, the food was rotten. I had a naan bread that simply was not cooked in places and burnt in others. I had what was meant to be a medium chicken dish that was so spicy I couldn't eat it. Partner had a veggie dish that was about half soya beans and tasted rotten. Wont be ordering from here again.

We've been wanting to try our local Indian takeaway for a while now. Only heard good things from friends and family.Definitely lives up to expectations. Curries are so tasty, fresh and generous portions. Customer service is excellent and delivered really quick. Highly recommend . If I had to pick one thing for improvement maybe find a eco alternative for the boxes/plastics apart from that.... awesome and will definitely be returning!

Never had a bad meal from this place and we eat a LOT of curry (both homemade and takeaway/restaurant). Restaurant quality food, at great value prices and super friendly service. Feel lucky to have Tamanna’s on our doorstep. I’m trying to make an effort to eat less meat and went for Sag Paneer Balti And was not disappointed - very tasty!

We were holidaying nearby and in the cottage where we were staying was a menu for Tamanna's. There was a great selection to choose from so we thought we would give them a try - that was the best decision of our weeks holiday! We ordered on a Saturday night for delivery for four people. The food was fresh, piping hot and gorgeous, so good in fact that we ordered again on the Wednesday. This time there was only two of us as my parents had returned home. Yet again, great service & beautiful food. Had a lovely chat with the gentleman that delivered our order too.Highly recommended and we look forward to eating from here again the next time we stay in the area.

A genuine cuisine. Delicately spiced, filled with the flavour of freshness. I enjoyed Tandoori King Prawns and Dhall masala. Substantial portions too.

Woah. I've only lived here for the last 12 years, but I have struggled the whole time to get a decent curry nearby after living in Bradford for 18 years.

We use Tamanas regularly and have never been disappointed, the food is always hot and delicious and the portion sizes are great. The meat is locally sourced from a butchers in Halifax and you can taste the quality.

My friends and I order from here regularly, last nights meal was amazing! Delivered to us piping hot their donner with naan is delicious.

Really looking forward to a good Indian meal. Very disappointing, it was the worst meal I have had for a long time. Greasy, chicken over cooked and mostly inedible. When did Brussel sprouts become part of a biriyani?

Really pleased with the delicious food and service tonight. Ordered chicken tikka masala, tandoori prawns, rice and naan bread. Really great hot food, quick delivery and lovely staff. We have been here a few times and never disappointed.

Had read previous reviews recommending this Indian takeaway which rated it very highly. Phoned the order through and my husband and daughter went to collect it 15 minutes later. They were back in no time and the food was still piping hot !

We have wanted to have food from this takeaway for a while but stuck to our local. But the food we ordered was a delight from the salmon starter to the lamb Paton to the mixed starter was traditional Indian full of flavour hot on order and really nice banter on arrival it’s a must for all curry eaters world wide an absolute delight.

So glad we finally have a great authentic Indian takeaway in the Calder Valley, tried a good few dishes from the menu and all have turned out to be magnificent, complements to the chef!!

Not local to the area, we do our research for takeaways, especially curry houses. Tamannas came up best and we weren’t disappointed. Called at the shop to place the order, friendly polite staff and only 25 mins to prep two mains and a few sides and sundrie dishes. The Lamb Korai was the best Indian takeaway my wife says she has had. I had garlic chilli chicken and all I can say is wow. Depth of flavour and heat was perfect. Probably won’t be back in the area again which is a shame. Great takeaway. Probably the best I have had in a long time.

I would recommend this place to anyone who loves curry, on my most recent visit I tried the garlic chilli chicken, tamannas mixed grill and garlic naan bread which was all super delicious and the staff are super friendly too.

What better way to spend a glorious summer evening without even having to light the barbecue?! We had an amazing takeaway with dishes I haven’t seen on other menus - including chicken korai and vegetable stuffed nan. Hot, tasty and generous portions. Ate it in the garden with a glass of wine. We’ll definitely be back.

Walking along New Road and the aroma was wonderful, decided on a cheeky take away and wow, this is the first but definitely not the last time we had a meal from here, absolutely gorgeous.

Nothing special in fact I was disappointed as I was expecting this fantastic curry from the reviews I read. Asked for a hot madras but it was not hot. It’s a shame as we are looking for a new takeaway it was a bit pricy next to Bridge Balti we usually use. Maybe we will try them again in case it was just a one off

The ONLY decent take away for miles! The food is nice and well priced, i always get the veggie options, my partner love the different meat dishes. Massive potions too!! They deliver as well which is always a bonus! The delivery driver is so lovely! He remembers our house and names and is way faster than his original ETA. Greets us with a handshake and a smile every time and seems genuinely happy to have us as customers. He definitely pushed the review to 5 stars! Looking forward to the next one already. I thought these reviews were too good to be true, and I was definitely happy to be proved wrong!

Tamanna's has never failed to deliver gorgeous food to us on most weekends! The service is brilliant with such lovely guys who run it. The food is delicious, especially the paneer spinach balti which is full of chunky pieces of paneer. A truly great take away!!!

I have used this takeaway many times and have always very much enjoyed the freshly cooked food, but last week I ordered the chicken Patan Balti and it was amazing. I highly recommend this great addition to Mytholmroyd. Food and staff excellent.

I ordered a curry from here as a treat for my mum’s birthday and it was gorgeous! I had a chicken shiksha (I think...). The chicken was tender and the roasted vegetables a perfect accompaniment.

This place is my number one fave place in west yorkshire. Me and my family and friends have recently enjoyed the Tamanna mixed grill and donner kebab and naan which was delicious, the staff are always super friendly I would definitely recommend this place.

We used to go to Tamannas when it was a restaurant at Ainley Top, so when we heard it was now a takeaway we had extremely high hopes because the restaurant and the food was something you couldn’t fault, well to just clarify the food is still unbelievable and delicious!

Nice to have such a good veggie selection to choose from. Portion sizes are good. Food isn’t oily. The flavours were really good. Food was ready in good time.

Having eaten at many top restaurants around the world, you can tell the food at Tamannas is cooked by people who love food cooked with fresh spices and real ingredients, it cant be called takeaway food it is restaurant quality food served to eat at home. The quality of the food is excellent the price is slightly more than your average takeaway but the food is great value for money and excellent service the best for miles around, they always remember me and my family . I get food once or twice a month and they also supply my company with a catered meal for 30 once every 3 months

This place is so close to my grandmas we recently got our first curry there- its absolutely amazing, and i went in with expectation to dislike it (My dad bet me £100 that it wouldnt be too spicy bc im really weak w/ spice) but every single thing we bought there was amazing and i couldnt reccommend it more! everything is delicious (especially the aloo gobi- my favourite now)

Having walked passed this little takeaway a few times commenting on the wonderful smell every time we did so, we finally bit the bullet and popped in. The food is lovely, fresh and proper and the staff are sound. I'm not from the area and couldn't believe an Indian this good was sat in Mytholmroyd. Eating food from Tamanna's is now a monthly treat we seriously look forward to.

I’m so glad we found this place! We treat ourselves to food from here once a week. The food is always delicious and the staff are always cheerful, polite and helpful.

That was an epic curry. I had gone rite off curry after having too many oily take away curries. This was the best take away curry I've had, it was better than sahibas. I've even stopped watching Zoolander 2 to do this review. The only issue was that I didn't order enough! Fantastic flavour! Restored curry faith! Thanks tamannas!

We've had Tamanna's food several times and think it's probably the best Indian food we've ever had. The chicken tikka special masala is our favourite but all their dishes have been delicious.

On returning from a cinema trip we needed an emergency curry so called them up and placed an order. Rushed home to try the jalfrezi and was not disappointed at all. Such good news to have a great takeaway option close by after years of living in void.

Previously used to visit Tamanna's in Huddersfield and delighted to discover that Junior has opened his take-away in Mytholmroyd! The food is the same fantastic standard of his restaurant - generous portions with masses of ingredients. Home delivery too! Outdoes the favourite Curry Restaurants in Sowerby Bridge....very high standards of cuisine!

I've grown up eating curry or whole life, and the food here is some of the best I've ever eaten. Highly recommended! Wonderful menu, cooked to perfection. My only criticism is that the mint sauce is a bit sweeter than I prefer, but that's such a small price to pay and everyone else in my group liked it. My favourite Indian restaurant at the moment.

We have been to Tamannas since it opened and the service has always been excellent from the friendly staff, that along with the excellent food, highest quality meat and fresh Ingredients makes it the only dine away we use when fancying a curry. The donner meat by the way is a must if you fancy a kebab. Nicest around by far

Excellent as usual, ordered late on Friday evening and the owner went out of his way to ensure that I got a tasty meal even though they were closing up!! Can't say enough to praise this place, 1st class food, 1st class service and always leave with a smile face and an even bigger smile after I have eaten my meal. Well done to all the team....... keep up all the hard work!

Being of Indian descent, we seldom order from Indian take aways, but on this cold winter's night we were craving a hot spicy curry to warm us up inside and what a decision it was! The chicken madras was a perfect blend of spices and fresh ingredients. Cant wait to get the next order in!

Our first visit was when they first opened and there was a long wait, but they seem to have found their feet now and tonight we just had a 20 minute wait for our order which was perfectly acceptable. The food here is brilliant, this evening I had the Aloo Gobi and the slices of spud and cauliflower were huge - not chunks from a tin. It was really delicious and fresh. This is definitely going to be my regular from now on. Shame it isn't a restaurant because the food is of a really high standard - this takeaway punches above its weight.

Fresh ingredients...proper nan bread...not that stodgy thick, from a packet cr@p. Friendly owner who already knows a number of people by name. Seek kebabs are awesome aswell!

After hearing mixed reviews of the new village takeaway, we decided to leave it a few weeks before trying it out to let them settle in. We phoned in advance as we'd been warned there is a long wait for food, so the hour wait was fine. The food was ready for us when we arrived to collect and the price was fine. The food was delicious! Lovely fresh onion bhaji's (not the stodgy floury kind) and great bubbly naan bread, not a pizza base! Potions were massive too. If you've had a bad experience in the first couple of weeks, give them another try. We'll certainly be back, very impressed!

This Indian takeaway is excellent! The food we have ordered from here has been really high quality and absolutely delicious. I can recommend the Chicken Jhal, Patan Balti and the Kofta Paneer. We tried the vegetable mixed starter and this was also delicious. The service is also lovely; it's a family owned business and they are very passionate about their food. We're planning out third trip there tonight and I know it will be great! Cannot recommend highly enough!
