Tamanna Aviemore in North Lanarkshire

Fairly typical Bangladeshi curry house fare. Far too much oil in everything; waiters (but especially the manager) not exceedingly professional; restaurant in general, but toilets especially, not particularly clean. My wife had a serious tummy upset later the same evening. We normally avoid these places like the plague, but on the evening in question, in high tourist season, everywhere else in Aviemore was fully booked and these guys had only one table occupied (who'd been placed near the window for effect, of course). Sadly, it's still difficult to find good Indian food outside big cities in the UK. Avoid if at all possible.

Went to this restaurant for something different as it is advertised as luxury Indian dining. Unfortunately it was not the fine dining we expected. The Mixed Naga was supposed to be a mixed chicken, lamb and prawns, the meal came without the prawns. This was mentioned to the waitress, the waitress offered a discount as an apology, however it never happened. The manager came to the table and told us prawns were not added incase someone may have an allergy…..!!!! but the menu clearly stated it includes prawns. Vegetable samosas were ordered as starter, 2 x tiny Samosa were served at a cost of £4.50. It was not even an authentic Indian samosas. It was a Chinese spring roll pastry for the samosas. 2 of them which mainly consist of potatoes are definitely not worth £4.50. Plain naan was sweet, and portion of the curries are not worth £16. Very disappointing meal. Service was good from the lady waitress but the males were not so hospitable.

Many vegetarian/vegan options. We were reaching Aviemore late at night and this was the only option for vegetarians that late. We called ahead that we were running late and Moo was kind enough to stay open a little past his closing time till we could get there to pick up the food. Lovely person! We had the Dal Tadka, Samosas, Pakoda, Jalfrezi, Veg Biryani and Bhindi which were good

Very average food and very expensive too. They asked us before we ordered if we wanted some popadoms, thinking they were free and we said yes. It cost £4.00 for four popadoms and we were charged £4.00 for a few dips. The popadoms were soggy, the dips were tasteless and the spicy onions were sodden and probably left over from the previous day. There was no dipping sauce with our pakora which is just a downright poor show. The curries came along and were bland and uninteresting and absolutely over saturated in fat. There was a pool of fat left on our plates at the end. The rice, nan and chapati and soft drinks (draft) were ok, though way to expensive. The bill came to just under £70 for two people. We felt cheated at the end of our meal.

A tad wary after reading some reviews,however decided to give this restaurant a try, Great meal, All of us loved our dishes & huge portions! Awful food, pale imitation of real Indian food. Poor hygiene standards ( saw one of the waiters not wash his hands after going to the toilet) expensive and not somewhere we will ever visit again. Avoid at all costs!!

Takeaway. Order messed up so we ended up one main short. Poppadoms soggy. Three different nans ordered - not really different from each other and very stodgy. One main was supposed to have chicken and lamb tikka in it- the meat definitely wasn’t tikka’d and sauce flavour was very bland. Chicken tikka masala also extremely bland. Sorry- such a disappointment- we won’t be back.

Ordered 2 x Chicken Tikka Masala, Keema Nan Bread, Peshawari Nan Bread, Chips and Pilau Rice. First time getting a take away from here. The food was amazing. The best we have tasted. We will definitely order from here again. Friendly efficient staff. 5 star for a takeaway.

Portion sizes are actually appalling. Ordered 2 main dishes for takeaway, you would have thought they were children's portions. Have eat here in the past and takeaway, and the portion sizes were much better. Very expensive prices also

Absolutely shocking! Avoid at all cost. Service was nonexistent, food was awful, table not cleaned, menu had leftover food on it, tasteless food. Overpriced. We questioned the high bill and waiter returned with even higher bill!!! Do not go. You will be disappointed.

I'm deeply enraged by the racist conduct of several staff members at that place. It's absolutely appalling to witness fellow Indians perpetuating racism within their own community. And don't even get me started on their so-called "Indian" food; it's a complete farce! It's nothing but a cheap imitation of authentic Indian cuisine, and it's beyond disappointing to see them deceiving unsuspecting people who may not be familiar with the real thing. Those who claim to enjoy the food there have no clue what genuine Indian food should taste like, and it's just heartbreaking to witness them getting away with this deceitful behavior. This injustice and dishonesty are truly disheartening!
