The food was fantastic! Reasonably priced. Was very quiet when I visited, but it was a Tuesday. Would recommend 👌

Amazing place the staff are so lovely my favourite restaurant!

Can't praise this restaurant enough. We eat here at least once a month. Food is absolutely delicious, my favourite dish is Lamb saag with mushroom rice 😋. The staff are friendly and very attentive. Atmosphere is peaceful and tranquil. Prices are reasonable, yes you can go elsewhere cheaper but the food is not so tasty, I know we have tried but always return here. We live fairly close so don't order delivery very often but when we have, the food is always correct and still hot. High recommended.

Great find on the outskirts of Penzance. Fresh poppadoms followed by a fine lamb madras (which was good and hot!) with keema rice, Bombay potatoes and a chapati - all of which were generous portions. Friendly, efficient service and reasonably priced too.

A brilliant curry house which has stood the test of time. Highly recommend.

Returned here over the weekend. After 10+ years since I was last here, delighted to see they were still in business. I had the Lakali lamb, beautifully tender and just shredded on the fork. Service was great, not too busy and reasonably priced. Great to be back.

Been here for takeaway on Saturday for the last 2 weeks brilliant food nice and fresh very tasty, great staff and chef we had 2 starters keema naan, rice, chicken madras, lamb jalfrezi our new favourite see you next week

Pleasant atmosphere! Ver nice staff ..we ordered mix dishes from barbecue, veg and meat dishes ...every thing was delicious specially lamb curry ...except starters reasonable quantities of the dishes ...highly recommend⭐️

Used the Taj Mahal for the first time this evening. Everything tasted fresh and absolutely tasty. We were both very impressed. This is definitely are new no 1. Staff were very welcoming. This was the second visit and even though they were slammed busy the food was absolutely fabulous again, clean, fresh and tasty. So much nicer than the ones in Helston and Hayle and decent sized portions unlike all the others.

Stopped here this week when passing through Penzance, grabbed a take away before driving back to Devon and ordered: Chicken chili fry - starter Everest chicken - main Naga chicken - main And a sag aloo - side ....don't often leave reviews but wow - They were amazing!! Highly highly recommend! Best nepalese we have had and will make sure to return when next down in Cornwall! Thank you : )

Staggeringly excellent. Food perfect and clean. Beautiful flavours and presentation perfect, you can tell chef that cooked this tonight is very skilled and cares about the food. We got the tikka masala, sherpa, sagaloo, nan. Everything fantastic. Service exemplary. It was a take out order on 100924. First time visit and will definitely be back. Please tell the chef it was brilliant 👏.

We get recommendations from friend who visited here before. And this place is amazing. Food is delicious. Pure authentic indian flavor. Owner is so polite and friendly. We didn't reserved place before still they did adjustments for us. We are pure vegitarian but we get so many options. Mango Lassi is best.Food presentation is perfect. Perfect quantity. Highly recommen this place if you are looking for indian authentic food.

We came here for dinner after a long day. All the food is good and very personable staff. Special mention to the egg fried rice - no other restaurant in UK had the indochinese taste like this. It is a must for everyone looking for that taste.

The service is very good, and the general atmosphere of the restaurant is alright. I would say that as a Londoner, I've experienced better Indian and Nepalese food. We went here as not much else was open on Sunday evening at 8:15pm. That's something that gives this restaurant extra credit.

The Taj Mahal restaurant has a good menu choice and the food is superbly cooked and presented. The staff are friendly and the proprietors are fabulous people. Prices are reasonable so it's easy to recommend the Taj.

We chose the restaurant as it's online rating was good and the name suggested that it's an authentic indian restaurant but had a very bad experience. They don't treat their customers respectfully and the food quality is way below expectations. Won't suggest it to anyone looking good indian food.

Very poor customer service. Took unusually extra time to serve food, also food portion, taste was sub-standard and the attitude of staff at restaurant was appalling. I would not recommend anyone to go there.

The moment we entered the restaurant we felt that we are not welcome here. Order took unusually long time to come. Attitude of the staff member (I think he was the owner) was arrogant and was insulting. I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.

Best Indian in Pz.. Himalayan dishes especially good.

This Indian restaurant is located not far from the boulevard. Welcoming and friendly staff with excellent service. The restaurant has an extensive menu with attractive prices and generous portions. Here the wide choice of different rice side dishes (including with egg or lemon) was special and tasty, but we also loved the Peshwari naan. We enjoyed it here with a nice wine and had a nice and fun evening.

Fresh ingredients and one of the best cut of lamb what you can get ...ussualy most of the indian restaurants use mutton for curries but this restaurant uses lamb legs ( the best part of the lamb) , kitchen is very clean as well , nice family run restaurant i fully recommended .

Dried up bits of insipid looking chicken tikka, obviously pre-cooked and microwaved - I won’t be going here again.

Absolutely terrible customer service, called and placed an order for collection. Order was painfully hard to place but was read back and all okayed. As usual gave plenty of time as expected it to not be ready in the time said to collect as it's Saturday and expected to be busy, still had to wait in the cramped area by the till. Drove all the way home to find a dish missing. I phoned and was told i could have something free next order, absolutely no apologies or attempts to resolve the issue. I stated i wanted a refund if they was not prepared to bring us the food that was ordered. Afterwards, drove back to the restaurant to be told that the missing dish "wasnt even put through" and made out that it was all fine because we didnt get overcharged. Completely missing the point that they had incorrectly processed our order meaning that someone had to go without and rice etc was wasted. Completely ruined our meal and the food we did have was not even nice! AVOID! Used to be such a lovely restaurant with amazing food. All we had was poor service and mediocre food thats massively overpriced!! Wont be going back again, been a customer for years! Staff were all young and incompetent excluding the lady i spoke with in the restaurant who did not even apologise once even though we had a completely wasted journey, not to mention they could of reviewed the order on the phone and explained the error without having to make the journey back!! RATED ZERO FOR EXPERIENCE AND FOOD.

How do I start.... This was a take away, delivered. The young lady who took the order was through and very pleasant, always a good start, thumbs up. This order was delivered on time by a very nice driver who, when he couldn't find the address, actually phoned, excellent!!! We had ordered the Lemon rice with the Sherpa chicken curry, I think this will be my next order. I had a Lamb Madras, I do like a Madras and this was with Pilau rice, absolutely fantastic, a big thumbs up. We also had a side order of a mushroom bhaji, also a favourite and a garlic naan and pishwari naan. All I can say, is, that was one of the best curries I've ever had. Thankyou and well done. We will be in to sample the atmosphere, sorry, this time we couldn'tanage it. Compliments to the chefs and staff for such an enjoyable meal. Truly well worth it. Regards Ian and Jo

Well, I've been a customer of a certain curry place on a corner for years, but I gradually grew a tad disillusioned. The Taj Mahal supplies two things I value highly, a shortish wait time (I'm happy to wait 15-30 mins) and the Taj Mahal is on the case in this regard. Plus, the food is excellent quality, the best I've come across anywhere. Namaste.

Best indian in the penwith area, had a lovely chana masala and bombay aloo. I didnt expect much initially as I thought penzance was lacking in good takeaways, but I was wrong! It was so delicious and well seasoned, I can't wait to taste more of the menu.

Food was tasty with great service and well presented, as for the heating by there chilli ratings on the menu, take with a pinch of salt, if you like hot spicy food when ordering ask to put extra heat and spice, other wise you will be disappointed, they did this for us on one of main dishes which they re did and took home as a takeaway and that was great the next day when reheated

Not Indian food at all. To much Tinned tomato pure in all gravies. No proper service. Not great ambience. Not a place for Indian food. Waste of money and time.

Absolutely lovely and really tasty food - but more staff definitely needed. The poor young girls on the floor (one dark haired, one blonde) were trying to juggle walk-ins, phone orders, collections, and bookings. They were amazing at staying professional, (especially when they had difficult customers) but you could tell they were stressed and we felt so bad for them - they did a superb job and definitely deserve credit for their service!!!

Great Nepaleses/Indian restaurant ever, in England, Japan, and even India! Foods are so fine and customer service is friendly and heartwarming, and reasonable. Open until late at night. (22:30 LO) So recomendable. (For Asian customers too, of course) すごく美味しいネパール/インド料理店👍 近くのお店を予約していたのに休業だったので、時間も遅かったこともあり急遽入ったのですが、かなりアタリでした。 カスタマーサービスもよく、もしペンザンスでシーフード以外の何か食べたいな…と思った時はおススメです。 ちなみに悪いレビューがなぜかありますが…他のよいレビューを信じて大丈夫なお店です。

Definitely my favourite Indian restaurant. I often cook Indian myself so I expect the food in any restaurant I go to be better than I can make it at home. These guys totally tick that box!

Absolutely appalling I payed £18 for a chicken korma rice and a plain naan bread and I only got like 4 bits of chicken shocking value for money and the food quality was awful

Been here twice now and it was as bad has before,,, service terrible staff miserable food ok but could improve.

Lovely food, friendly staff. Prices about normal for eating in nowadays. Delighted to find a restaurant that doesn't allow dogs, so it's safe for asthmatics who are sensitive to them. A meal interrupted by a trip to hospital with an asthma attack would not be fun. We aren't stuck with Wetherspoons meals.

We had dinner while visiting Penzance. Seating is very congested. Food was okay. We had ordered Fish Chili Fry, Tarka Dal, Bhindi Bhaji, Brinjal Aloo, Aloo Gobi, etc. The Gobi was not well cooked. I couldn't get a taste of brinjal in the Brinjal aloo. Overall, I would not recommend this place because we did not like the taste of the food.

The Service was somewhat poor and dismissive at times. We were bot fully tended to properly and had to ask for our plates to be cleared. We had to shout for the waiter to get their attention . The food was ok to good for us.

We had a nice meal here, no license so had to take our own beer. Waiter recommended a dish to my friend but refused to give him rice, which was a bit strange. Anyway I'd happily go back and try some of the other dishes.

Food was good but I item my child ordered and taste was bit rotten so I requested to exchange with something else as it was not fresh taste, so rather than listening what I was saying the manager became very rude initially so I had to say don't exchange just bring another item. He even didn't listen what I was saying. It was hot inside...food was good.... And cheap...

*Caution to asian customers* Very bad service and poor management. Cannot handle many customers together at a time.One waiter was very rude, mannerless and asked us not to call him many times as they are busy. I could see him frustrated as he was not able to handle anything properly.we went there for the first time so we ordered startes and drinks first to taste the food and then the main course. Even if they were busy he could have spoken to his customers in polite way as its not our fault that they cannot work properly. Then we came to know that they dont have any manager there and that rude indian person is actually chef who is handling the restraurant for now. No wonder he was disrespectful and he was not capable of managing the restraurant. I saw he was specifically rude and least intersted with asian customers.Other waiters were good and helpful. Food was average. Not recommended at all.
