Best food I have eaten in the city of my birth (Birmingham, August 1968). Sylheti Jhinga Morris, Sylheti Fried Rice, Sylheti Spice Naan with chilli. The heat, the flavour, the warm comforting WOW factor. The best of the best of Birmingham.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would, the flavours are unreal and the customer service is unmatched. Just eaten here and it’s genuinely the best meal I’ve had in my life. I’ve compared this place to local curry houses and this is by far the best in terms of flavour, quality, prices, and service. Unrivalled in Birmingham. My husband and I have tried many different places but this remains at number one.

The food is always amazing from here! I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad order! I tried another local place recently and after being bitterly disappointed - I was glad to return.

Chicken madras, Sylheti fried rice, Sylheti spice naan (with chilli). Packed to the rafters with flavour. The madras was hot and fruity and fully-loaded with red opulent taste combinations. My magnificent meal danced the tango on my tastebuds.

Had a lovely meal with the family. Great service and food. My Lamb Jalfrezi was superb, with incredibly tender meat and I asked for Madras-level spice which did the job!

Great local Bangladeshi restaurant, reliable for both dine in and take away. Has an extensive menu of balti style dishes and regional specialities, and having tried many of them I'd say the key thing is they all taste unique, you can tell the dishes are all prepared individually and with care. Very welcoming to children.

A Sylhet Spice ‘Jal-Zala’ is the ultimate test of human strength and endurance. The flavour of the Jal-Zala is like nothing I have experienced. It is simply majestic. Tastes better than anything I have ever eaten, but, be careful.

The Sylhet Spice Cuisine pins me down as a ‘Kings Heath Boy.’ This motherxxxxxxx restaurant is a part of my soul. Nothing on Planet Earth tastes as good as York Road’s Sylhet Spice Cuisine. The flavours erupt like a nuclear explosion.

Food was delicious, polite delivery gentleman and on time We had the chicken baltis, samosas, chips and naan. Plus poppadoms and dips Amazing!!!!! Highly recommend

Ordered takeaway at 17:30. Told up to 1hr 20. I was reluctant to order but went ahead. 1hr 35 passed and I call them to be told driver will be 10 minutes (how long it takes to get from the restsurant). It's raining, the food took 1hr 45 and the driver asks me to come to his car! Shame because the food is good but delivery service terrible. It was the same last time and I won't be ordering again.

Pasaron 1 hora 35 y los llamo para que les digan que el conductor será de 10 minutos (cuánto tiempo se tarda en llegar del restsurant). ¡Está lloviendo, la comida tardó 1 hora 45 y el conductor me pide que vaya a su coche! Lástima porque la comida es buena pero el servicio de entrega es terrible. Fue la misma última vez y no volveré a pedir.

Absolutely totally delicious. Nothing beats the Sylhet. I stand in awe. The Sylhet Spice Cuisine stands head and shoulders above every other restaurant.

You cannot say you have experienced 'Birmingham' until you have eaten a meal at the Sylhet Spice Cuisine. The flavours at the Sylhet hit my tastebuds with a dynamic decisive punch. My chicken madras was the real deal. Top marks all round.

You pull open the containers and the scent of your meal floats upwards to your nostrils like sweet alluring perfume. Then you bite and chew. The heat! The flavour! The Sylhet Spice Cuisine is a Brave New World, and I am a true disciple.

Really lovely curry from this restaurant whether dining in or ordering takeaway. Efficient friendly service, food freshly cooked and large portions. I like a hot curry, my husband prefers a milder one, both always spot on. Takeaways delivered by a very pleasant man, and skwsys st the stated time. Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you want a proper tradional curry. Very hard to find these days.

Nothing blasts my tastebuds with more atomic power than a Sylhet Spice meal. The flavours at play in this Kings Heath Kingdom are earthy and complex and alive. The Sylhet’s hot options (jal-Zala is BOSS) whack you from all sides. There is no escape.

Absolutely delicious food! The service was great with lovely staff. Will definitely be going back and looking forward to trying a thali next time.

I am a Kings Heath boy. The ‘Shylet Spice Cuisine’ is my Kings Heath Joy. The heat, essential to each of the Shylet’s HOT options, is mental. The flavour, at play in all of their selections, is ludicrous.

Without a doubt the best restaurant in Birmingham. When these guys say 'hot,' you had better be prepared for the firestorm approaching. The flavours here are passionate and diverse. Perhaps now is the time for my 'Sylhet' tattoo.

Holidaying in the area and had a fantastic meal least year and had been looking foward to another one this year but was really disappointing. Rang up 15 minutes after expected delivery to be told driver on his way. Food didn't arrive until 20 minutes after that. Ordered 2 mango chutney and only got one which had been packed upside down so spilt over everything so ended up with no mango chutney. Chicken Kurma inedible due to the chicken still being pink and raw in places. Lamb Madras inedible as it was swimming in oil. Sardines and Trout both should of had salad with them... only got one. Special naan burnt. Won't be ordering from here again when back in the area!

First time ordering from Sylhet spice and we were very disappointed unfortunately. We waited 1.5hours for our food as they were busy, for us to then recieve the wrong meal. I ordered a chicken tikka masala but I got Masala fish. They offered to replace the whole lot as it would take another 20 mins for a replacement to reach us. When it finally arrived another half an hour later, they only actually replaced half of it. The chicken tikka masala had no flavour to it at all, the chips were thick with grease along with the onion bhaji. Just awful.

The delivery driver informed me that I "did not put down my address." That's crazy. If my address wasn't specified then how did he arrive at my house with my food order!

The Sylhet Spice Cuisine is the most superb restaurant in the West Midlands. Tonight I ate my favourite dish, the chicken Jal-Zala. This dish contains naga chillies. The bold heat was a secondary feature. The mix of flavours in this dish was a miracle to behold. Every bite contained something new and surprising and wonderful. I was lost in a paradise of flavours. The chefs at the Sylhet Spice Cuisine are true culinary wizards.

My meal arrived late, and it wasn't as hot as usual, but I'm still throwing out five-star quality on flavour and chilli-burn. The meal was delicious, as always. I'm a huge fan. I'll always come back for more. The Sylhet Spice Cuisine is Boss.

Hands down the finest restaurant in Birmingham. Best ingredients, best preparation, best flavours, best service. The Sylhet Spice Cuisine is the gold standard in the West Midlands.

Exceptional quality food and service.

Came here for family b'day with 15 people all sat together. Service was very attentive, good range of drinks and non alcoholic Cobra was great. Had the mixed tandoori kebab for starter which was yummy. For main had the tandoori platter with a kheema naan. Platter served on a sizzler plate with loads of onions which soaked up the flavours of the dish. Shish, chicken and tikka chicken were delicious, lamb was a bit tough but tasty. The kheema didn't have much meat in it but the bread was lovely. Also tried someone's peshwari naan and that was really tasty. Poppadoms were good and they even got us some lime pickle on request which is my favourite topping for them. Meal was really good value and portions were good. Everyone was full by the end. Hot lemon clothes were provided at the end to clean up and orange chocolates with the bill which were nice. Would come again.

The food was luke warm when it arrived, and they forgot the naan we ordered. They did return with it though, after I rang up. The taste of the curry was a little disappointing. Was expecting a rich, sweet, red Tikka Massalla. We got a not so rich or sweet, orange/brown Tikka Massalla. First time ordering, and the last.

Sylhet never disappoints. We were greeted warmly and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Our favourite starters of mussels were delicious. Mains of garlic seabass and telepia were mouthwateringly yummy. Sides of mushrooms pilau rice and flatbread were perfect. All washed down with a cheeky little French Merlot. Thank you.

Unfortunately we ordered 4 poppadoms and only received 2 really not happy but I'm not going to make them deliver 2 after what's the point. Food was ok I thought my partner disagreed said it was salty. We have both eaten in the restaurant and enjoyed the food unfortunately the takeaway option is not for us.

Will never go here again!!! I'm a regular customer however tonight I called up for a delivery, the man in the phone was nothing but rude had such a horrible attitude made me not want to order however I continued to make my order asked to pay on card not knowing they wanted my details over the phone and didn't have my card to hand. I told him this and previously offered to pay cash , the man was trying to get me yo collect my food as didn't want to deliver and told me I get a discount, I continued to order delivery and the man put the phone down on me , 1 hour and 15 mins later I called asking Weres my delivery and he told me order cancelled. Never been so fuming lost my custom now and the owner should definitely look at his staff!

My favourite curry house. We get a take away weekly here. It never fails to disappoint. Yesterday we decided to eat in, beautiful experience, lovely staff, lovely decor, and they always do my food extra mild for my bowel condition. Can’t recommend them enough.

HANDS DOWN, the best curry house in Birmingham, believe me, I’ve been to a lot! Biryani and chef specialities all 10/10. Staff 10/10. Couldn’t recommend any more.

Our dinner on Wednesday evening was superb. We began with an excellent French Merlot alongside our starters of mussels. Both were delicious. Our mains of Shank Zara and Garlic Seabass did not disappoint. Beautiful presentation and delicious food. Highly recommended.

A very lovely evening and some gorgeous food

Lovely food, bit slow to arrive but understandable on a Saturday night. My only issue is that the driver just left the food in the communal downstairs hallway rather than delivering it to the flat, which I don't think is acceptable. He had the flat number, and there is a lift, and we were waiting upstairs, not knowing that it had been left downstairs.

Great takeaway - favourite with our family for years.

In the area for a gig, and stepped in here for an evening meal. There was plenty of food, we ordered a starter and main with sides and naan. Very reasonably priced, and ghe food was absolutely amszing. The staff were attentive and friendly too! A great place to eat!

Sylhet what can I say every Saturday I have a home delivery order, the quality of the food is fantastic, always hot and full of flavour, Never mind 5 stars I give ten stars great great food .

Fantastic, tasty, out-of-the ordinary food; very attentive but not over-powering service; and great value for money. The best Indian/Bengali restaurant I've eaten in for quite some time. The speciality fish dishes are a particular highlight. The restaurant is in a very interesting part of King's Heath. There was a lively party atmosphere (many restaurants and bars with tables outside) when I was there on a hot day. It is also close to the excellent Hare & Hounds pub.

It's Bengali, the curry is obviously awesome.

If you want to experience Gold Standard dining, the Sylhet Spice offers you just that. My Sylheti Garlic Chilli Chicken arrived piping hot, fresh from the pan. The flavour combinations were exquisite. My Sylheti Spice Naan was a fluffy savoury delight, and my three FREE poppadoms were an added bonus, thank you very much. Tucked away down a side street in Kings Heath, the Sylhet is a hidden treasure.

Always a pleasure... Lovely chap that runs it, very professional staff with great polite personable service... Food it too notch with a variety of options and cooking methods eg not too greasy, can cook with olive oil as opposed to gee etc. Way better than Kings on the same street!!

We had a superb dinner here, making the most of their vegetarian options for a tasty and moderately spicy Indian - style meal. We started with the Shobzi platter for two, (samosas, onion bhajis, paneer etc) which was lightly spiced and very tasty. We also shared our main courses - Shobzi Bihariee, a North Indian vegetarian dish with capsicum, mushrooms, cauliflower, potatoes, coriander - a delicious combination! The other main was a Paneer Sag Jalfrazi - with a little extra spice. We had a plain naan and a specialty spicy naan with cheese (which we found a little heavy). A barossa shiraz complemented the food. Staff and service were excellent.

Ordered from the Sylhet Spice as a takeaway. Very good food, never had much experience having Bangladeshi food and was very delighted and how rich and fresh and flavourful it was (which was assumed). But woah the place is expensive. For a family of four it was £70 (with discount).

Ordered food as a take away they got two curries mixed up rang them and they corrected the mistake and delivered it! Foods really good only issue was my fish biran got soggy by the time it got home

Gutted as I’m a regular customer BUT the restaurant informed me that he was a new driver so fair enough and he was very apologetic and the food was gorgeous as always although cold I will always recommend this restaurant so I’ll give them this off day, it happens
