We booked here for a meal as we have just relocated and were impressed with the reviews. We arrived at 7.30 on a Friday night and the restaurant was empty, and was still empty when we left at 9pm. The place was absolutely freezing, but to be fair we had worn short sleeves as we had expected there to be heating on in January. The waitress was kind enough to plug in two radiators for us, but it should have been warm on arrival. There was an over door heater, which was apparently unsafe and waiting for a service, so could not be used. We also noticed 3 lightbulbs no working and shoddy paintwork around the window, although the decor is modern. The toilet was like a visit to Siberia. ! On the plus side, the waitress was very pleasant and admitted she was cold in 5 layers of clothing ! She did make us feel welcome and the food was excellent, but on trying to order dessert we were told that there was only one kind left as there was no call for dessert. ( There are a vast array of desserts on the website and no mention of not being able to have any? ) We were not offered coffee, so decided to get the bill. On leaving we noticed the waitress unplugging the radiators, so we guess that nobody else had booked. Overhearing phonecalls, the waiting time fo takeaways was given as 45 to 90 minutes, so I am guessing that it is more of a takeaway than a restaurant.? Anyway, to recap, the restaurant side needs attention and should be more ambient. Faultless food and service, but sadly not worth a second visit, sorry.!

Me and my wife visited here last night. When we arrived we were the only customers so it was lacking in atmosphere and they were extremely busy taking takeaway orders, there was no music and so we heard them taking orders too much for our liking. However, they tried very hard to serve us as quickly as they could and put some nice Indian music on which improved the atmosphere. The poppadoms and chutneys were superb, the raita and lime pickle in particular were delicious. Nicest raita I have ever had. Our main meals were a mixed bag.The Sheek kebab was good portions and tasty. The worst part of our meal was the rice,it was broken pieces and would be better if it were the full grains of rice. We had mains of chicken Bhuna and Korma. Both were really excellent. They had a really deep colour and flavour in both dishes, the best Korma I have ever had. There was a lot of big, beautifully cooked chicken. These guys are very generous with their portions. We really enjoyed our meal and we will definitely return.

They don't serve alcohol so bring your own if you want some. Also cash only in the restaurant.

We were recommended Sylhet Royal about a year ago and have been consistently impressed with the quality of flavours and food. We have a takeaway once a month and it’s always great. My wife recently found out she has gluten / dairy intolerances - the team couldn’t have been more helpful as we had to check through what she could / couldn’t still eat - they were patient and knowledgeable (and ultimately my wife ended up with something she thought was great - that’s not something she’s said much since she found out about needing to change her diet!). Without a doubt the best Indian / Asian food in Suffolk.

I used to sing the praises of this takeaway but something happened a couple of months ago and the food has been very average since. One day the nan was thick and the texture very unindian! Sauces have lost the depth of flavours becoming one dimensional. I’ve tried a couple of times now but nothing has improved. It was an expensive Indian takeaway that was ok with good food. I’m sorry to say it’s now very overpriced and below average. A shame!!!

We have visited this restaurant in Faulkeners Way, Trimley St Mary, a number of times and always encountered the same excellence every visit. The quality of the food is always good, whether it be Indian or English dishes ( thus catering to all tastes ). The restaurant is good for small parties and provides buffet style as well as a standard menu. The chef is undoubtedly one of the best in Felixstowe, portions are always large and fairly priced. Obviously popular for take-away and delivery, due to the number of people coming in to collect and the number of calls for delivery that one sees whilst relaxing in the restaurant environment.

Excellent setting in Trimley villages, complemented by excellent food ( both Indian and Western ) and exceptional friendly service from a multi-national staff. We have had many take-always and recently held two buffet parties at the restaurant, both of which were excellent and complemented upon by all those who attended, many saying they would return with their own parties. Food portions, both menu and buffet, are huge, meaning there is always enough left over for the ‘doggy’ bag. The staff are always there to ensure all is well and the chefs are beyond excellence.

On arrival in the restaurant I was really pleased to find that the variety of dishes available to me was larger than expected as they were able to make a lot of dishes for me. This compared to other Indian restaurants in the area who weren't at all helpful. They explained clearly exactly what I could and couldn't eat and made useful suggestions. The food was tasty but next time I'll go for something a little spicier. (I had a tikka starter and a korma). The menu was extensive and appealing. We were all in with starters, main courses and sides, walking away happily stuffed. The food here is superbly fresh and so light. My chicken dish was a wonderful mix of Spinach and Coriander which had such a light feel to it. None of the dishes were heavy or oily and my Naan Bread was the lightest i had ever tasted. As a newish restaurant, this is still a hidden gem but one worth seeking out. In the past I have used this place as a takeaway, walked past many times and always said we would eat in one day and we finally did. The service was really friendly, we were given time to decide what we would like. When the food arrived it was cooked perfectly and was very filling! I would definitely recommend this place to family or friends to dine in. I think because not many people know about the dining in there that there are still a few things that could be inmproved upon. This is things like, asking us we had been there before and what we thought about eating in etc, that I felt would have been better to be when we first got there althought I know they were very busy for takeaways that evening. I think generally the service would improve just by more people eating in as not enough people do. I'll definitely be arranging a meal with friends or family in the near future. Other Indian restaurants in Felixstowe we have been to before we have had problems with everytime we have been - chicken not cooked properly, rude staff but this is the first place that everything has been brilliant. As a result of a leaflet through our door I thought I would visit again for a takeaway.Taking of the order over the phone was very efficient. The wait time of 40 mins was fine. Paying for the meal by credit card worked. We order four starters, four mains, Nans, Rice and Dahl and all arrived home without leakage. However we were slightly disappointed in the meal with the dishes lacking any wow factor and all appearing to look the same. We had enough left other for Dinner the next day. I think this was as much due to our lack of enthusiasm for the meals as it was the portion sizes. Our order came with a bright green item that could only be described as Flubber. We couldn't figure out what it was but decided that something with that amount of food colouring needed to be poured down the sink rather than fed to humans. The menu card advertises an Astonishing Sunday Buffet of 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 side, rice and Naan for £12.99 each. Call me a sceptic but I can't figure out why this is a good idea. The Astonishing bit probably to refers to why any group would chose to limit themselves to the limited number of unknown choices when the whole of the menu is available to them. The empty restaurant in decorated in a café style did not appeal either.I don't think I will be back any time soon when Bombay Nite is so near.

I have noticed that my more recent reviews have involved finding my way to an 'off the beaten track' restaurant. This was no exception, situated in a small group of shops on a housing estate in the Suffolk village of Trimley Saint Martin is a small restaurant serving delicious Indian cuisine. Previously well known locally as a Take-Away it has now opened up a small restaurant area. At first glance it resembles a cafeteria but don't be put off. The tables are very practical and the chairs comfortable. It has an extensive menu offering many favourite dishes as well as some regional dishes. I chose the Chicken Jalfrezi and Sabji Niramish (dry vegetable curry) as a side dish. I'm glad I didn't have any rice as this delicious curry was more than enough to fill me up. I did just have enough room to slip in some of my all time favourite desert - Gulab Jamun. This was a lovely tasty meal served by the very friendly team operating this small haven of Indian food. I should also mention that, as they do not have an alcohol licence, you can bring your own. They do offer a selection of 'soft' drinks. To make life even easier there is a large car park alongside the restaurant.

The menu has the traditional favourites but also some interesting sylhet dishes, one of which was kofte meat wrapped round egg, served in a rich sauce - very enjoyable. My wife was called out to work minutes before we arrived, so time was pressing. The service was excellent, order taken quickly, food arriving promptly (but not rushed). We even had time to have one of my favourite desserts - gulabjaman - sadly rarely available away from Brick Lane, London! It would have been nice to have savoured the food at a more leisurely rate and perhaps tried a starter - hopefully next time. You can also take your own alcohol to this restaurant.

I went to this Indian, if I'm honest because Bombay nite was fully booked, so I was a little apprehensive. When booking we were advised that it was BYOB, which was fine so we brought something along with us. In arrival the restaurant looked pretty though we were the only people eating there. The staff were very friendly and attentive and when the food arrived all our worries gone. The food is delicious and served promptly. The food definitely rivals that of the Bombay nite and I think if more people gave this place a try it may well be just as popular and as busy. The takeaway is clearly quite popular already there as a lot of people were coming into make collections. I left feeling full and satisfied and even went home with some left overs which I enjoyed the next day. I look forward to my next visit and hope that the word will soon spread that this is a great place to eat. :)
