Absolutely superb Sunday lunch. Large dish of seasonal veg to share betwen us, and a large portion of meat on each plate, plus roast potatoes, 2 Yorkshire puddings and a large boat of gravy. Everything was piping hot and beautifully cooked. For afters there was a large selection of home made puddings, which were offered with custard, cream or ice cream to suit. The pot of tea was really good too. All in all an excellent meal for 2 for under £35.! Will definitely return, and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes good home cooking style meals, rather than tiny portions of artistically arranged food served on ridiculously large plates! The location is quite remote though, and my Sat nav didn’t identify the right building from the postcode, so it might be better to put in Stockerston Rd Allexton instead, and look out for the sign opposite the driveway. The tea rooms aren’t open every day, but the opening hours are on their website.

I just love this place!!! If you want fine dining, haute cuisine, forget it. This is where you go for banter, good company, a good meal and the most lovely people in the world. Food is lovely, Matthew is awesome, and his family who look after you are awesome to. One of the most tranquil places you can ever go and eat or just have a glass of wine, and then have a walk round the lake and watch the birdies. Love it.

Lovely surprise birthday meal.Looked a little bit unkempt on arrival, but a friendly welcome and a great meal for the four of us,a struggle to finish the mixed grill, very tasty and all cooked in plain site of customers.Cant remember last time I had such a relaxed evening watching the bird and wildlife in a sublime woodland setting,I'm sure we will be back

We sought out Sweethedges Tea room - beware the sign is very missable, because the writing has worn off, but the yellow arrow is still there, so turn right into the farmyard and see the Tea Room on your right - looks closed, but it isn't! We both had the full English Breakfast and it was superb - plenty of everything, well-cooked, and nothing was too much trouble. And if you're a bird-watcher, sit on the round table in the left-hand corner and watch tons of birds feeding on the feeders - Blue Tits, Great Tits, Coal Tits, Willow/Marsh Tits, Robins, Goldfinches, Dunnocks, Blackbirds, Thrushes, Greater Spotted Woodpecker. Lovely, family-run tea room - not the Savoy, but lovely nonetheless! Will be back.

We came here for Sunday lunch. Very basic, but clean amenities and venue. Yes the decor is out of date and could do with updating but the service and food was great. It’s family and dog friendly. The food itself was tasty and nicely prepared/cooked. Puddings were also enjoyable. If you venture off onto a walk you’ll see that the site has some lovely grounds. Just be aware that you’ll need CASH as they do not accept Card Payments!!! Highly recommended.

I have lived in this area for ever but never got to this place. I have many fishing friends who fished then had lunch and it was a day out. It is not fine dining or haute cuisine, but it is, tasty, filling and made with love. We had Sunday lunch, and this is what is on offer on Sunday. No mucking about. Loved it. The view from the window is amazing. Basically, a huge leylandii hedge, but filled with bird feeders absolutely alive with birds. Better than the telly!! It is family owned and run, but it is like going to have a lovely huge family meal, we were early, good job, because it was almost full when we left. For £8.95 for a main roast value for money is a perfect description. This is now going to be a regular point of call. Can't wait to try the breakfast.

Visited the delightful Sweethedges Farm today for Sunday lunch and how lovely it was. The surroundings are beautiful and completely off the beaten track in fact you can’t imagine there being an eaterie at the end of the country lane with grass growing down the middle of it!! Even when you arrive it’s hidden in the trees so such a surprise!! Totally unpretentious we had a warm welcome and with a choice of beef, lamb, chicken and pork (or all four) served with good selection of fresh vegetables, roast and new potatoes and Yorkshire Puddings, plenty for us all to enjoy. We couldn’t resist the puddings and had the pavlova, bread and butter pudding and cherry pie - delicious. Beer and wine are available too, a choice, but relatively small but more than adequate. We were served by family members who have been there for many years and who had a witty and pleasant remark for everyone and it is extremely popular as all the tables were occupied during our time there. I should say it’s a (very well) hidden gem and we’ll definitely visit again (if we can find it on our own lol) as they are open throughout the day serving a variety of meals, sandwiches and teas. Recommended.

We had a very nice Sunday lunch here, good plain food and friendly service. Both the meat and the vegetarian options were good and generous, and it was quite a struggle to squeeze a pudding in afterwards - but we all managed! It was raining, so we couldn't enjoy the garden first hand, but enjoyed watching birds flitting about through the window. Would definitely go again if in the area.

This family run little gem will cater for all. I run a mountain bike club and one of our favourite stops on a ride is this cafe in the Eyebrook Valley. Hidden behind a row of conifer trees, if you didn't know where it was you could easily ride or walk straight by it. Everything is homemade. The coffee machine could do with being updated as what it produces is very weak but the tea & cakes are fantastic

I was recommended by friends, and a great recommendations it was. Warm friendly welcome, a comfy room and great breakfast. Just one point, with your complementary tea and coffee came powdered milk. Fortunately I don't drink milk, but I think those little cartons would be better. Would I stay again-yes. Regards Jim

Stumbled upon the Sweethedges Farm Tea Rooms whilst browsing on trip advisor had never come across this before, so visited today as a treat for my wife`s birthday weekend treat .Found fairly easy after driving through stockerston and taking the road to Alexton ,this is a single track rd ,but is a fairly short distance(1/4 m ish ) from the road junction, pulled into the farm and there is a concrete hard standing to park your car ,and then a few steps to the front door of the tea room ,owners were friendly and welcoming ,we had booked a table just to be on the safe side ,there were a quite few people of the pensionable age (a good sign ) already eating ,sat down and a friendly gentleman served and dinner was ordered ,Food was top class for sunday lunch and good value for your money ,sat and watched the birds at the feeder just outside the conservatory whist dining , would recommend and will definitely be back .

We ate at the Team Rooms recently as we stayed on the certified location in our caravan. Our breakfast was really good and well priced, in fact a breakfast which included 2 fried eggs, 1 sausage, 2 slices of bacon, 3 hash browns, baked beans, mushrooms and toast for under £6 was amazing value.

We heard about Sweethedges from a number of friends who eat regularly here, so thought we would try Sunday lunch. And what a real pleasure that proved! The food is excellent - nothing fancy, just wholesome and tasty traditional fare. The meat was tender and juicy (and generous portions) and there was a good variety of really fresh vegetables. Even the gravy was gorgeous. Having cleared our plates down to the pattern, we felt almost too full for dessert - but once we saw the choice on the menu, we couldn't resist, and duly polished of a wonderful bread-and-butter pudding. Even the service at Sweethedges is excellent - and delightfully quirky - and the rural setting is truly beautiful.

Fantastic surrounding for this 5 pitch caravan park, beautiful. If peaceful is what you went then this is the place to go. The only down side are the facilities, they have one toilet and it's very basic and not very clean,no light in there and the elson point for emptying your cassette toilet is a man hole cover directly outside the toilet! It's an accident waiting to happen.. if they updated the facilities ( one decent toilet and shower room ) and a proper place to empty cassette toilet tank and they would have a fantastic gem on the hands. That said I love the place and will be back in the spring.

The room itself is pretty basic. It's setting is very nice, being in a well cared for garden area adjacent to their camp site. This is all about good food and plenty of it at a very good price. If you are looking for swish service, posh plates etc, go elsewhere but if you just want good value and great value I would recommend it. The Camp site is excellent too.

Went out early on a Sunday morning with my Fiancee on our motorbike, pootled around Melton, Oakham and Rutland and then remembered this place from a group ride out we did with work (Wollaston BMW Bikes). This must be the most laid back place on earth!A few locals were sat having breakfast, reading the papers and debating 'Brexit'... all good fun!We both had an all day breakfast and it was awesome. The picture does not do it justice. Very tasty and not greasy at all! Perfect!!We also had a walk around their caravan site which was incredible. Not just a field but a landscaped utopia of shrubs and trees. This place has a very calming feel to it. Superb!

Great little coffee shop. Wonderful selection of homemade cakes that change regularly. Some interesting menu choices…. Scrambled eggs with cheese and chorizo. Cheese and marmite on toast are the kind of comfort foods that help this place stand out from the crowd. Along with the usual Faye you would expect to find on a varied menu. Service is friendly and attentive. I’d urge anyone looking for a break from walking/shopping/browsing to pop in but I fear this would make getting a table even harder!
