We love going here for lunch. Staff and owner are always friendly and welcoming. Food is always delicious. Would highly recommend

New Owner in place!! I only returned to Sweet Vintage today after finding out a new owner is in place. A familiar face was there to welcome me and the atmosphere was significantly improved, with everyone putting customer care first alongside an easy going but professional attitude. The review below was only in respect of the previous owner, so I’ve updated this to ensure the new one isn’t judged unfairly. ☺️ Past Review - We’d ordinarily be on our way this morning but after a lady barked at me and my baby last Saturday, we’ve decided we won’t be back. I was seated, given a menu and told food would be a 30 minute wait. The young server then walked away before I could order. I followed and said I’ll order immediately as I know what I want, only to be rudely interrupted by an older lady who had just walked out of the kitchen carrying sausages shouting “No, no! You can’t order. You can’t order until everyone who is seated has ordered!” She shouted this while serving others loud enough to startle my baby and for the whole cafe to hear and stare. I was shocked and confused, so I said alright and walked back to my table being watched by all. No sooner had I sat down than the young server followed to take my order. My husband, seeing I wasn’t happy, politely told the server we wouldn’t be ordering and we left. Suffice to say I knew we were the only seated customers whose order had NOT been taken and there was absolutely no need for the lady to shout at me as if I’d just cheekily walked in off the street to push in. In fact, there was no reason for her shout at all. You may be busy but that doesn’t mean customer service goes out of the window. I’m sure we’re not the only people who won’t part with good money to be shouted at because you’re stressed doing your job. In any case, you now have two less customers to worry about.

Well worth the money. Everything was cooked well hot fresh 100% we will be coming back very soon 😋 😀 😉

From the second we entered Louise made us feel so welcomed by her warm character. She was so positive, friendly and overall happy. She really helped us settle in with our massive double pram and baby. No problem was too much for Louise and she really made us feel at home! The food was also really tasty, hot and you could tell the produce was locally sourced.

Lovely little tea shop in the middle of Mossley. All the staff we encountered were super friendly and could not have been more helpful. The food was excellent, very fresh and nicely presented. The scones in particular were delicious and the coffee really good too. Returned today to celebrate our sons intimate marriage with an afternoon tea. Bride and groom were made to feel very special. The table had been laid out lovely with pretty tablecloth and vintage tea service. We were rather early but it wasn't a problem and the staff made us feel very welcome. The afternoon tea was delicious and very plentiful with a great range of sandwiches and cakes. They had even got a wedding card for the happy couple. We will definitely be making another visit when in the area.

Food is highly overpriced, quality also not the best.

Food is really overpriced for the quality and size. Cafe itself is lovely, staff are nice too. Sad about the price and food as would’ve loved to return.

Great food and well priced. The inside is lovely, sweet atmosphere and even open on Sundays! Winner! will be coming back.

Me my Mum and Dad went here today. The two women who run it were very friendly and helpful. The foods and drinks were great will defiantly be going back.

I started visiting Sweet Vintage at the beginning of April after my granddaughter and I dropped my great grandchildren off at nursery. Absolutely love everything about it. Food/service/ staff/vintage feel, everything. I wouldn't go anywhere else now, we have tried other places as it is mine and my granddaughter's treat when we go nursery but nowhere comes even close

Expensive coffee, which tasted like just milk, needed a double shot of coffee in it

Very friendly happy atmosphere. Stopped for coffee with Wife, Daughter inlaw and Grand daughter's. Lots of lovely treats, huge choice. Will definitely be back.

Laura and Louise are absolutely fantastic - great customer service, and the kind of shop Mossley desperately needs more of!

Had an afternoon tea here for lunch and it was absolutely amazing! My nan couldn’t make it due to being poorly and the owner made up a takeaway box for her (fully decorated with a bow!!) such a lovely cute place would definitely recommend!!

Called in for a birthday breakfast, the ladies in here are so kind and friendly. Made me feel very special. Food delicious, they always go out of their way to go above and beyond. In the summer we have eaten outside in the court yard with our dog and little boy, it started to lightly rain so thought we would have to leave, the next thing we knew, the owner provided us with a huge umbrella so we could continue our lunch, really lovely, thoughtful people. Have eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. Thank ladies xx

Really great breakfast from here. It was cooked to perfection as I like everything extra well done. Presented nicely. The coffee (flat white) was way better than generic Costa rubbish and it gave me a massive boost and sent me off on my day. I bought some cupcakes to take away as gifts for my family. They do lots of tea here too with the tall cake tiers of cake and sandwiches. A little gem of a place in Mossley

Lovely place, we've not visited since before lockdown. Pleasantly surprised to find the shop open on a Sunday which was a bonus. Breakfast was served hot and fast. My son enjoyed his milkshake so much that he was surprised it was gone so quickly! Staff are lovely and friendly. My son and I love visiting!

Personally wouldn't recommend this cafe. We visited for breakfast and the food made me sick. Just had an English breakfast and the food quality was extremely poor. I couldn't eat it and what I did eat made me sick. When they came to collect my nearly full plate they questioned why I left so much and instead of an apology that it made me feel sick I was meet with a debate and questioned further. Eventually they didn't charge me for the english breakfast.

The sweet vintage cafe in Top mossley. It's a lovely quant homily welcoming place to visit freshly cooked and well propared food excellent value for money.! Well deserving It's five star rating what lovely little gem.!! Even though the staff are a young team by age they effectively efficiently providing the best service that they can achieve with age expectations with more experience are lovely and highly motivated though the team leader.!! We had an absolutely gorgeous lunch here, sat outside in the sunshine. The food was delicious; well presented and tasty. The staff were just SO friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome and will definitely be coming back! Thank you !

This place is too cute! Booked in for a Saturday brunch, the gals working were so sweet and helpful. The food was great and we weren’t left waiting long at all. It’s fantastic quality for the price. We were eyeballing the cocktail menu and afternoon tea menu, so we’ll definitely be back for more!

First visit today. Was disappointing. Waited 45 mins for my breakfast. No apology for waiting time. Over priced

Lovely breakfast, great value for money

Friendly staff, looked clean and tidy. They do charge extra to eat on premises (there's an outside garden with tables and chairs to rear) which I wasn't made aware of prior to order. Prices were average, can't complain about food quality however the toast given to me and a friend was a bit cold and quite burned and was not pre buttered for us, so we couldn't easily butter the toast. If it wasn't for the hidden extra charge of sitting in I probably would visit again.

Staff are friendly and welcoming. I often go for a take-out coffee as it's delicious and piping hot and much nicer than large chain coffee shops.

Call in regularly with Running club mates. Breakfast after a long run never leaves you hungry. We're always made welcome even when covered in mud and soaked to the skin.

Lovely cafe in the centre of Mossley. I had the Eggs Benedict, my Father had the regular breakfast, both cooked and presented beautifully. Service is lovely and they are very accommodating. Try the cocktails too they're brill. Will be returning.

We finally got to visit The Sweet Vintage today. What a delightful place.😁 Ruth And Jason work hard to ensure that customers are well catered for with a variety of meals and snacks and their lovely personality. My husband had a full breakfast and stayed it is the best breakfast he has had in a very long time and I had the Eggs Benedict which was amazing.

My first ever visit and I won't be a stranger, there's something for everyone here. You could spend the day here eating and drinking. A wide range of breakfasts, teas and coffees. A massive selection for your lunch, then afternoon tea then cocktails, gins, wines and beer. Plenty of seating, very friendly staff and locals. Go to visit, you won't be disappointed.

Had a fabulous lunch on Sunday. Just happened to drop in with friends. Lovely menu, friendly service and pleasant family atmosphere.

Cappuccino was not hot and frothy. New waiter commited mistake in our bill; when made aware of the err, she couldn't figure out she charged me more. I have to point it out to her. It's lacking the outstanding service and friendliness. Hopefully, it'll improve

Having had some very poor meals in a couple of other places in Mossley, the experience in Sweet Vintage was a real joy. A group of us were there for lunch and we were all very pleased with our food. It was obviously prepared by someone who has a real interest in food and cares a lot about it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Excellent food and service, would reccomend a visit

Came across them looking for somewhere to get s quick drink and snack and was very pleasantly surprise .The service was quick and very friendly , they could not do enough for us.The sandwiches and choice of cakes were even better. If we are ever near there again then a stop will be a must.

This is a lovely little cafe that serves some great pancakes, cakes and hot chocolates. The staff are really friendly and very accommodating for young babies and groups. We always go for breakfast after baby club and the menu has great offerings for adults and children alike. A great little cosy cafe well worth a visit

We really enjoyed our excellent afternoon tea here, which was helped by a fortuitous 2-for-1 offer on their cake slices <yum>. The coffees, teas and hot chocolate was also as faultless as their staff and service. Would definitely go there again and recommend it to anyone in the area for the same 

Called here with my son for a bite to eat. Great selection of teas and coffee. We had a cheese and ham toastie with a large coffee for £5. The toastie came will side salad, nachos and coleslaw. Well presented and the staff were really friendly. The establishment is also licensed for alcohol. Good selection of cocktails. Would definitely return. Great little atmosphere

Just had lunch with a friend here. Lovely decor, helpful and smiling staff & and more importantly delicious home prepared, reasonably priced food. I'll definitely be back when I'm up here.

On the 16th of February, my family and I were in the garden outside since we had our little dog with us. We had ordered three drinks and had asked for some water for the dog, we were told yes however when the drink brought out, we were told that the dog wouldn't be given any water as they had nothing to give it in. I said that they surely had a shallow dish or a foil tray that they could put some water in, she went in and returned with a plastic dish and put it down with the comment "it was nothing to do with me it was the kitchen staff,". I started to reply and she just walked off I said 'excuse I'm just talking to you' to which she stopped,turned to look at me and the continued to walk off. It has very rude staff and are not dog friendly since they didn't want to even spare some water.

I've been here a couple of times now and both occasions to food, tea and staff have been lovely. There's a nice selection of lunch items, a great loose tea menu and some yummy cakes.

Visited with the family and booked a table for 9 persons for Sunday breakfast. Lovely friendly atmosphere and helpful staff.We ordered a selection of tea , coffee ,latte etc and these all came to the table quickly. Most ordered eggs benedict or eggs royale and again these were served promptly and efficiently. Delicious start to the day.

I visited with my daughter before she went back to school. We loved it. Lovely staff, great food and we will be back.

We arranged an afternoon tea part for our Mum's birthday for 16 people. We were offered the back room free of charge. All of the staff both in the lead up to and during the party were very accommodating, flexible and friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Dropped in for coffee and a bite to eat.Nice clean old fashioned type tearoom/cafe.Good choice of food, cakes and drinks. Gorgeous milkshakes!Would definitely drop by again.

The visit didn't start too well, as there were no seats available in the front part of the cafe, as it was lunchtime and too much room is taken up with the low slung sofas that are fine for coffee, not not for eating at and my mum, being disabled struggles with steps. The back section is up a few steps. The front section has huge windows onto the street, making it light, whereas the back room looks like a converted storeroom, as it is dark, there is a large fridge standing in one corner and there are tacky plastic decorations strung up. There was a large plastic container blocking the door to the rear garden tables that looked like it had been used for the days bread delivery. The table was very sticky, despite having been cleared and wiped. So not a great start to or first visit.Mum wanted soup and we were surprised that there wasn't any on the menu, so we ordered toasted sandwiches and coffee. The cappuccino wasn't bad and actually tasted of coffee, unlike some national coffee chains. The adjacent table were served one hot meal and they waited more than 5 minutes before the other meal arrived - not good. No apology either. The first meal would have been cold before it was started. Once our food arrived, it was very good - plentiful fillings with a nice side salad and very good value for money. We were too full for the cakes, but they had a good selection. We only noticed on the way out that there was a blackboard in the front section with specials including a soup of the day! Pity that there wasn't a board in the rear room and it would have been helpful if the menu said "see board for soup of the day" etc. The waitress could also have mentioned the specials when she took the order. I would visit again if I could sit in the front section, but not in the back. A bit of effort/thought from the staff could transform the experience.
