Sweet Haven in East Lothian

Popped in today for the first time and we got some sweets around £7 while waiting then we were £12 for 2 crepes with ice cream, we were advised 5 minutes but then 10 minutes as the machine wasn’t on but took around 15 minutes. The first arrived hot and looked amazing but after 3 bites I had a dark hair visible on my fork wrapped in the Nutella chocolate and crepe! Friendly assistant but with long hair it should really be tied in a bun or have a hair net on and not in a loose ponytail when around food. Pointed it out and I got an apology and offered a fresh one but didn’t want one as that just put me off and my partner too who didn’t even eat 1/2 of his as he was as shocked and disappointed as I was. I asked for a refund on the one I sent back and really should have been refunded for them both. Pick and mix ok, some sweets that tasted horrid and not great quality for the price paid. Left the shop disappointed.

We came here for the first time recently as it was recommended by a friend. On arrival I asked about allergens and they had allergy book ready for me so I could read through it with ease. I choose the caramel shortcake flavour which was delicious, they also do cakes, sweeties and coffees/teas. There is lots of cones with different colors and sprinkles, the ladies kindly fetched a fresh cone from original packaging so there was no risk of contamination. We also tried the oreo cake which was a good size slice and my family really enjoyed it. The customer service is amazing, the ladies behind the counter was full of smiles and nothing was a bother. The prices are a little cheaper than other places which is always a plus. We will definitely be back again.

Me and my family went here on the weekend as a treat and it was great! When we first asked in we picked a table and the cashier gave us menus. The prices were a bit overboard for certain things but all good. We ordered our icecream sundaes and they took around 15 minutes to come. Our total came to £19 for 4 sundaes, a bit overpriced! The desserts were lovely and came just as we ordered. The staff were also very helpful and patient 🙂 will definitely be coming back here again!

We ordered three deserts and a milkshake. Took an hour and a half to come I ordered red velvet cake and kinder bueno milkshake, I couldn’t even finish the red velvet cake as it was so stale I’m unsure if it’s not covered properly or old? The milkshake was okay at first but then just tasted like blended weetabix - my friend actually didn’t even realise it was suppose to be kinder My friend ordered a hot fudge brownie sundae by the time it came it was completely melted and basically just a milkshake with lumps of brownie

My family placed a large order for collection and the majority of the order was fine with exception to my empire biscuit, which to be honest must have been about 2 weeks out of date as I nearly broke my tooth biting into the icing which was rock solid. I phoned to complain about this as they shouldn’t be selling items that are clearly out of date, but the owner was not around and so the girl took my number and said he’d call me back, but surprise surprise I never heard anything back. I won’t be visiting this place again

Tonight I ordered a delivery around 8:30pm. I thought it might take an hour or so to come but I was still waiting 10:30 for my order to arrive. When it did arrive, the ice cream was melted, the deserts were cold and to be honest didn’t taste very nice. I won’t be ordering from sweet haven again for sure. Really not recommended.

Food was good but arrived 2 hours late, with no apology or excuse so disliked the service but also arrived cold

Ordered three simple items, which took over two hours to arrive. No way to complain or ask for refund, and nobody in the shop as said it’s closed! Awful service.

Sweet Haven is a great place to visit. Honestly, love the desserts, and the customer service is excellent. Recently, I visited the shop but had to wait for 1 hour, which is understanding due to COVID-19. I would highly recommend the shop, it has a variety of desserts and ice creams. 🙂

Ordered from here a few times & the service every time has been awful. Both occasions have been 2 tubs of ice cream for delivery & both times have taken over an hour to be delivered. I live 10 minutes away from the shop so don’t understand how it takes so long for such a small/easy order. I let them of the first time but this is now the second time this has happened so will be the last.

Ordered waffles which arrived hard. Phoned and spoke to owner and he promised free waffles on the next visit. When we went back to order the owner was so rude and aggressive towards me and my sister. Would never recommend to anyone. Customer service was rubbish along with waffles!

Nutella crepe was amazing. Will be back. Order and pay inside. Wait outside and someone brings it out. Great service during this time.

First of all 7 members of staff behind the counter no protection masks, gloves etc then when served I felt rushed and no manners I waited outside while I waited on my order which was 40 mins for 2 cookie doughs which wasn't worth £6 each see picture below! When waiting outside I was asked serval times if I was being served clearly no communication as in my order they was about to send me away with just one cookie dough when I as said I ordered 2 when they got me my second one they forgot the ice cream I said do I get ice cream with this one and all the staff ignored what I said until they noticed I was still standing there. I won't be back at your Tranent store unfortunately. Musselburgh was better service and clearly keeping to Government Guidelines regrading the current situation.

Nice ice cream but can’t see why you have to pay for collection think there cashing in on the pandemic

We love it here. Lots of delicious and modern flavours to choose from. Very friendly. Very reasonable. Limited seating but we always seem to get a seat when we want to sit in. Good range of desserts including waffles, pancakes and sundaes.

We waited half an hour for a waffle, milkshake and Belgian bites for it to all go in the bin. The milkshake was just pure milk and had no other flavour to it. The Waffle was crispy and hard but was raw in the middle...

We already came up a couple of times and we very much like this place. We felt very welcome every time and they have a great selection of ice creams and sweets. The ice creams are very good although I don't think are home made....

This shop has an enormous range of ice cream flavours, forty in fact! old fashioned sweets and also serve warm waffles which are delicious! It is vastly superior to the long established nearby ice cream parlour, which is far too over-rated. We can't recommend Sweet...

We stopped in for some icecream when we were shopping nearby. The icecream was delicious! They do a wide variety of cakes too and it's pretty hard to just pick one thing. We ended up going home with bags of ye olde sweeties too!

I went with my partner and some family in a really hot day. The ice cream is amazing, Coffe is also very good but the best was the service,the 2 guys behind the desk were very nice and very professional :)

I have had different flavours of icecream on quite a few visits here and each time have loved the taste! The coffee is excellent too! Colleagues have often asked me to bring them in sweeties from here (there are many types just like the icecream!)....

Decided to have a wee late night treat here... consisted of waffle-icecream cheesecake and good quality coffees ... was like being in will wonkas 😂 something for everyone from a huge range of icecreams to old fashioned jared sweets....all delicious and a great attentive service...
