Since moving to Bishops Waltham I have found some lovely local shops and enjoy a wander around the HIgh Street, This Sweet Shop sadly in the exception !! I have taken my GrandChildren in there several times as the concept is great - a mixture of traditional old fashioned sweets in jars / chocolates and pick and mix = Plus ice cream . Sadly the experience is completely ruined by very unfriendly / unhelpful staff who are appear to be irritated by children ...... After our last visit I have decided that I am no longer prepared to put up with rudeness in order to buy sweets for the kids !

Excellent selection of sweets, traditional and modern. Fab selection of jarred sweets and beautifully packaged too. Now coffee, waffles and ice cream available too.. what's not to like?!

I walked by this shop and was drawn in by all the old fashioned sweets i used to eat when i was younger. I bought some traditional sweets for my two grandchildren and some fizzy crackling stuff i thought my boys would love. They also serve shakes, ice creams and much more. There is a little cafe area too. Friendly staff. There waa a charge if you spent under £5 and wanted to pay by card and not cash which surprised me but other than that a great little place right in the High street close to other shops and cafes.

This is a cute little shop for home made cakes and a fantastic assortment of chocolates and sweets (in jars that you can buy by weight or price). The lady serving (owner?) was a delight, coffee great, but this is fantastic for children - an old-fashioned sweet shop

A very comfortable branch of Nero's. A good place to settle down if you have some work to do, a book to read, or to chat with friends. Will definitely be back.

Unfortunately, The Bakers Arms in Winchester falls short of expectations. The beer selection is uninspiring, with a lack of variety and little effort to offer anything beyond the most basic options. If you're hoping for a decent pint or something unique, you’ll likely leave disappointed. However, the bigger issue is the overall atmosphere and customer service. There’s an unwelcoming feel to the place, with staff who seem disinterested at best and outright rude at worst. Rather than creating a warm, friendly environment, interactions often feel like you're inconveniencing them just by ordering a drink. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to linger. With so many great pubs in Winchester, there’s little reason to return to The Bakers Arms. A pub should be about more than just serving drinks—it should offer a welcoming experience, and sadly, this one misses the mark.

Lovely pub! Interior is so rustic and pretty. We came here after an afternoon hike and the prices are average. Fish and chips was delicious and loved the tartar sauce and the mint mix in the peas!
