The food was closed and the aftermath was not great been in the toilet all day

I've been coming here for years but in all honesty I think it is just the nostalgia that brings us back as the food isn't amazing. I don't like to post bad reviews but I do honestly think it is overrated due to nostalgia, the samosay pastry is too thick and oily and the kebabs can get abit chewy and I am saying this as constructive criticism not an attack their breakfasts are likely still top notch but the samosa and kebabs are overrated sorry.

Not like it used to be,quality gone down, Very stingy to charge for mint sauce which is free in other takeaways. 2024 and its CASH ONLY (Money laundering? Hiding from the taxman?)

I wont be going back again. I asked him for water instead he tried to sell me bottled water for £1.50 which i dont drink. I then asked for at least some ice he dont have that either. Bad attitude bad service. I am glad i wasnt offered rain water instead as it was raining on that day and time. Sorry but i will not be going back. ☹️

Not been here for long time after looking at reviews I was a bit hesitant as I had guests over and didn't want to be disappointed, I ordered a take out and my guests were impressed very authentic taste in the Chana puri and the kebabs and samosas with mint sauce was delicious absolutely luved it

Food was okay, obviously gone down in portions and quality slightly but nevertheless was decent food. We mainly went for a bit of nostalgia tbh. Back in the day there were only a handful of places our parents could take us up North and this was definitely one that we’d look forward to.

I can't comment on the Atmosphere because I am medically housebound on a permanent basis but I can say how exquisite the food is☺️ The Halwa/ Chana puri is awesome and the best I have tasted for a very long time. If they got a permanent delivery driver it would be a great asset because I ha e to send someone on my behalf due to the poor service of Justeat drivers because they do not know the area like a local does. The sweetcenter is a definite treat and their Indian sweets are also second to none. It would be impossible for anyone to ever regret ordering from here because yes the food is just that hood☺️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Nice samosa and seek kebabs. Parking around there can be a bit of a pain. Need to go again to try the breakfast as it is only served till 12. If you are planning a visit its cash only

This review is based on the food and if I could leave zero stars I would! The samosas were dripping with oil and were orange. Paid a visit after many years expecting the same quality of food and it does not meet those standards. Avoid at all costs.

We have a bad experience. They are selling the name that they are established in 1964. We left food without eating. They don't change the oil to fry samosas. They served very bad taste samosa chaat. Not coming back.

They really need to start accepting card. I had to go to 4 different atm’s until I found one that worked. Wasted a hour of my time.

Good desi breakfast, greasy and oily just how it's meant to clog up the arteries, that's why it's only a once in a while kind of desi breakfast but can't beat sweet centre from all the places iv tried before. Would come back when I'm looking for another greasy breakfast again.

Missed two of my items also it’s was very disappointing as it wasn’t tasty as it was recently those guys have been down hill as they missed items which I ordered never come it’s happened twice now.. I phoned up and the guy who I spoke to on phone did not speak any English goes to me to come in next time and they will sort it out cause they have no drivers which also won’t happen cause they done this in the past

We have visited sweet centre today with my family food was absolutely cold including tea. Hair came out on our puri plate we didn’t do anything about that after that in our channy unfortunately label came out of there not going again very bad experience. Told the owners very rude they didn’t do anything about it not even a sorry one said I don’t have any hair and the other said how did the label get in there.

I don’t know why they are messing with a winning formula. I loved the old seekh kebabs. they used to be juicy and fat. i got some the other day..portion size gone down..not the usual kebabs. please go back to the originals..especially now that amaans does the same kebabs and now do the desi breakfast. you guys were the original.

Unfortunately portions have decreased by 50% ,even though they hve increased their prices

Not as well stocked with sweets as I recall from the past .. however the restaurant next door was as good as it has ever been. Definitely worth another visit. And many more!

Used to be a regular spot for desi breakfast and legendary somosa and kebabs in our youth but ever since Covid prices got silly ... still here and there..

I recently dined at sweet centre restaurant and it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting and the staff were incredibly attentive. The menu offered a delightful array of options, and the food itself was exceptional. Ask for dessert menu and you won’t be disappointed. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I can't wait to return!"

Very disappointed. Ordered food and went to home to open my fast. Since we have 6 people in our family, I Ordered 12 pieces of chicken tenders. He only served 8 pieces and charged full price. This often happens there. Next time will ask to show how much they before going home.

Standards have dropped. Not the same from the old days. Service is terrible. Rude and arrogant. You claim you take customer service seriously but you clearly don't. It's as though you don't want to put up with me. It's happened more than once. I'm patient otherwise I'd have said and set things straight. You've bunked up your price but standards of food is much lower than before. How does that make sense? The seekh kebab was far too salty and dry. Somosa was tasteless. Waste of my money.

i ordered x1 halva puri which comes with x2 puris, x2 chana portions which comes with x2 puris for each portion, i also ordered 4 seekh kebabs and 4 samosa's, total comes to around £20, i got ripped off by the old man because he was too busy on the phone taking orders and just kept punching numbers in to the till, how can you over charge somebody by £6 pounds? its not right and its not on? your business is supposed to be selling halal food and obviously the earnings have to be halal also following your beliefs and religion, why over charge people and eat HARAM, its not the first time this old man has done it to me, the portions are tiny and prices sky high for sure i won't be coming back here again, shame been established for years but making money and ripping people off seems to be the new trend, worry about your after life and what answers you will give for exploiting people! 10/03/24;- please admit your mistake it does not total up to the amount, why try cover up that your over charging people it does not make sense, in business remember the customer is always right not the business or the owner, maybe an apology would be nice or even offering to compensate for over charging would be nice or you could even offer free food as a way of compensating but i can see the business here is set to rip people off clearly! spend your money else where, the place has gone down hill people, if you choose to go here be prepared to be ripped!

Dry tasteless food would never go again

This was definitely one of the all time classic places to eat at. The last 2/3 times I have visited the place the food was very very oily. When eating in usually had sauces in bottles on the table....this has now changed and they pass you 2 small tubs of Mint sauce...this was really shocking.

Tasty breakfast, light Puri's with a creamy halva accompanied with a traditional desi tea Very polite service too!

Seekh kebabs were re-heated. Not cooked fresh, the naans were reasonable.

Gave this place a second chance. Young lad was very polite and attentive. Food was delicious but the seating was an issue especially for family or group of people. We like to share so it was difficult to do.. mint sauce is the best..

I come here for the legendary seekh kebabs. They are the best. Same recipe for over 50 years. Tbh I have not tried any other food here. But I can highly recommend the seekh kebabs with the mint chutney. I don't think you will have tasted anything similar in Bradford. Still don't like the seating arrangements. So I have left a little room for improvement.

Channa and sauces were good in samosa chat, but the samosa didn't take great not fresh. This is cash only place which is annoying. Rasmali was just ok , not upto mark!!

Really disappointed, anyone can make at home better than this breakfast.

The food is great. The halwa, the madras, and the chana is all really good. The mint sauce is the best I've ever tasted. The pink tea and desserts are top notch. My issue, however, is that sometimes they'll swap things out in your order and won't tell you. For instance, my peshwari naan was replaced with garlic. I don't like garlic so they were promptly binned. The sauce and salad, for whatever reason, comes in a little plastic baggy. I don't understand this; it makes a mess trying to get it out. I also walked there to get something to eat only to be greeted by a sign on the door saying "Cash only". It's cash only but still take just eat orders without any option to pay in cash and only by card? I don't understand that.

Staggered its 'cash only' and doesn't accept credit cards. It's 2023, move with the times. More and more people don't carry cash at all.

*This review is for the take out/cafe place on the corner, not the restaurant* The place is renowned as one of the best desi breakfast places in Bradford, if not Yorkshire. They make fresh channa puris daily and although the seekh kebabs and samosas sold are heated in the microwave they're also pretty fresh and tasty. They've recently had a well needed refurb so inside is looking fresh and pleasant. Unsurprisingly the prices have gone up and little but worse still is they've made other cut backs which spoil the meal a little. You no longer can get tap water in the glass which they've been serving since the 60's, sauce bottles removed from tables and worse of all the card machine has been removed so cash only. I don't understand why a company that has so many customers, plenty of income needs to ruin their reputation and have the tag of tax avoiders around their neck. That needs to change, especially this day and age where everyone pays contactless. The food alone is 9/10, but factoring in the pathetic cut backs it's a 7/10 from me.

The best seekh kebabs I’ve ever had. The rotis and naans are really nice too. However, I felt like the mint sauce was quite watery. Hygiene can also be improved. You can’t have food out near the till and handle both cash and food with the same hands without wearing any gloves. Minimum £15 card payment is also a bit of a let down.

Sweet center a classic old school place my childhood place. Some good old memories growing up going here. It’s decent - friendly staff it’s a Vibe & always busy on the weekend. They are well known for the breakfast. Since day one

I was visiting York with my wife and we made a trip to Bradford just to have dinner at the world famous Sweet centre. Myself and my wife went here 2 nights ago for some mithai what can I say delicious stuff and wonderful service. Prior to visiting we went to the sweet centre restaurant next door and had an awesome meal. We ordered poppadoms, pickles, sheekh kebab, meat samosa, halwa, a prawn 🦐 curry, a lamb Karahi (boneless), 1 paratha, 1 garlic 🧄 naan 🫓, 1 tandoori roti, and 1 normal naan 🫓. A fizzy drink each and two desi chaais. Whilst finishing my food my wife went to this place and got some mithai and bought it back. Let's start with the service a young kind gentleman (Habib) served us and took his time helping me choose a great meal. He took his time and didn't rush us, he made us feel welcome and came back whenever we needed anything. Definitely service with a smile and an awesome host and a credit to the sweet centre team. As we were about to leave Mr Waqar came and we met and had a chat. All this food for only £44 awesome food , authentic, thoroughly enjoyed it. We went here a year ago with our children and I can honestly say this place is an absolute gem and I would encourage people to visit this place if you want an awesome Indo/ Pak/ Kashmiri meal served with a smile. We couldn't finish our food and had the rest off it the next evening. 10/10 I am not affiliated with this eatery in any way shape or form just a customer who is giving his honest review. I can safely say this is my favourite eatery up North.

Cozy little place in the corner. The best kebabs in West Yorkshire I had sheek kebabs on naan and mint sauce amazing taste with a authentic chai. Highly recommended

Good place for Asian breakfast nice food

It’s a great place. You have a variety of food. The sauce is really good too. Great hospitality. Good staff. And good is served pretty fast. The downside will be the Puri Bread and nan breads. YES the nan is fresh and awesome but within a few seconds it turns into a frisbee. So you have to get it down you fast. Apart from that. What a treat. Cheap and cheerful. The kebabs are A*

Lovely little place, channa Puri is to die for

Eat here alot have done for years, still nice, but not the same as it used to be, the shami kebabs they do now, are not worth it, miss the old ones. Seek kebabs still nice though!

Best Halwa Puri with channa I had for very long time. Must go. Must eat there. They also serve kaschmiri pink chai.
