Swan Lake Inn Near Tenby in Pembrokeshire

We ordered the basket meals for lunch, there was a choice of four - £8.50 each, very generous portions and was a great snack for midday. Friends had a meal from the main menu, which was nice and again generous portions. Drinks were reasonable price for beer/cider. Food came out very quickly too. Outside seating area was nice, inside the pub and toilets were a bit dated but staff were friendly.

Cracking hideout in any weather, loved the open plan feel to the bar and the friendly and warm welcome with the fire! Would recommend the Sunday roast too!

Overpriced beer, badly cooked and presented food at an extortionate price, and couldn’t- care- less service. And now I see in the local paper that it’s hygienically unsafe with a 1/5 rating. Never again.

AVOID AT ALL COST. Simply put this pub has been dragged from the 80’s and hasn’t been cleaned since then either. Stainless steel toilet pan and string smell of urine in the toilet screams ROTTEN despite their apparent good food hygiene rating. I could list multiple failures but it’s easier to just say DONT..!!

Poor poor poor. Please do not eat here. Overpriced and poorly cooked. If I had done my homework we would not have eaten here. My choice, the Lasagne, absolute no no.

Awful food & so overpriced! The place stinks & it's very unkempt! The menu promises home-cooked food - pull the other one! Cheap alternatives from a chef with no pride! Not recommended!

Thank you for taking us in at short notice for Sunday dinner for twelve people the service was fabulous and the food was fantastic.

We had the worst meal we have ever had in this place and it wasn't cheap either. I ordered a chicken burger and it came, 50 minutes later, on a plate which had a huge amount of grey, pallid, soggy, inedible chips - I had to wonder how anyone could actually achieve the colour of them - with some side salad and a burger in a completely black bun. When I asked about this, I was told that it was charcoaled. There was nothing on the menu to indicate that the bread rolls were black, or charcoaled ( their word for it ). The only thing I was able to eat was the chicken itself, everything else was left untouched. I noticed that on tables around me that there were lots of plates with piles of these so called chips which other people had left. My husband had scampi and chips and he too coudn't eat the chips. The scampi was really overcooked. We were charged roughly £14 for these meals and we should have sent them back, but stupidly paid up.

We were very disappointed with the food we received at this pub, this evening. I had the fish and chips and my partner had the burger. The meals are very over priced for what you reserve. My fish was terrible, I went to cut into it and loads of grease just came running out of it all over the plate and table. There wasn't much fish, just full off batter. The fish was also very over cooked! The chips tasted like they had been cooked about 3 times, in a deep fat fryer. Very greasy, dry and not much taste. My partners burger was very odd. The bun to the burger was black. I have never seen a black bun before. He said it didn't take burnt, but it was very dry and not much taste. I also asked for no saled in the burger as he doesn't like it. Came out full of saled. I also asked if we could have some cheese in the burger too. The amount was pointless and they charged us £2.50 for cheese. The meal was very over priced as it was. I was not expecting them to say you have to pay for the cheese too. As we asked for the saled to be removed. The staff behind the bar seemed nice but very rushed. We felt like the owner seemed like she made them do all the hard work and she just watched. It was a shame as we are hear in holiday. But we would never recommend this pub to anyone. Food was very poor and over priced!

Too noisy and poor food for the price . Piles of chips but main meal was pretty tasteless. Perhaps we caught it at a very busy time but we were very disappointed

Disappointing, over priced food and drinks for nothing more than bog standard pub food. £3.60 for a pint of orange cordial! When we questioned the pricing, they apologised and said I know! Then made up another figure on the spot! Limited menu with 2 items unavailable at £15 per meal. Meals were average and the service was okay but basically 3 young members of staff trying to hold the fort. Needless to say , we didn’t stay for dessert and won’t be returning, such a shame

Terrible food, incredibly overpriced, and very badly cooked. Gamon was so overcooked it was like leather. The steak was tasteless. We were a party of 7 and we had 2 starters , 7 mains, 1 bottle of wine and a round of drinks and the bill came to 181.00.

We ate at the Swan Lake while on holiday , the lasagne was dry meat and hard to cut totally tasteless , tables sticky and we had to wait an hour for our meal . Not recommended .

Give this place a 1 star based on the attitude of the land lady. My girlfriend had scampi and chips and I had steak and chips. The chips made 50% of the meal, they tasted boiled and rushed to be made. Steak was over cooked and scampi was average. They did offer 1 drink in compensation but not OK when 2 people's meals were not on par. I would not recommend. I asked for another drink or money off the bill, a firm no. Would avoid at all costs if you appreciate good food. Beer garden and staff were lovely.

Expensive for not great food. Visited on recommendation but clearly changes have occurred. A meal of curried chicken that contained carrots sums it up. Still, friendly staff and a good atmosphere so fingers crossed.

Can recommended the Swan Lake! Warm welcome - doggie friendly ( with treats given!). good food at a reasonable price. A must visit if in the area. AAAAA

Local pub with a restaurant looking to hook tourists. Restaurant area is fine. Limited menu (different from the online version) and to be fair although then portions were fine the food was very average. All you would expect from a local pub if you are thinking beers and spirits.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a gentlemen who was very kind and welcoming. Showed us to our table. As I went up to the bar, I was served by a young girl, who’s customer service skills were awful. Had no manners and was very abrupt. Ordered 1 vodka Pepsi, and one Diet Pepsi this came £10.20, ridiculous prices!I used to come to this pub often due to owning a holiday home in Manorbier, this is my first bad experience! Very disappointing.

Coming out of Covid 19, staying nearby, this was a great pub to visit. Very good bar choices and very good meals, especially the fish and chips. Thank you Steffan and Sarah and good luck going forward.

They do great home made hand cut chips! Lovely jacket potatoes. Easy to get to and park. Friendly staff.

new management and wow what a massive let down 25 years we have been visiting while on holidays and new management in service was shocking and food was just awful do hope they sort themselves as this has always been a favorite spot to eat in the past

A burger van would be embarrassed to serve the quality of burger here. Really poor.Chips drowning in grease too. One of the worst pub meals I've ever had. Place was empty and not hard to see why.

This was the best restaurant/ pub place we managed to find in Tenby,real chips not frozen well done for this had the steak pie and a blue cheese steak sauce the sauce needed more blue cheese in it to be perfect,Also another member of the party had lamb pie and found it very nice but no veg only peas and carrots which is the trend around Tenby why is veg not offered on meals only peas in all the pubs you need to sort this and offer full veg,Kids burger really good portion size hand cut chips Staff were really friendly and helpful and it was dog friendly well done

Can be a problem being away with dog on hot day. But Swan Lake accepted Alfie in bar. Very friendly staff with good food at reasonable prices. Thanks again

Always a very good meal and warm welcome at this country pub in Pembrokeshire with log fire and home cooked food served all day every day. A variety of real ales is always available and large dining room and family give a selection of eating areas

Visited as staying near by. The pub is small with little seating but we had no trouble getting in (only 2 of us) Food was lovely and served quickly staff very friendly

Visited The Swan on bank holiday Monday. All 3 of us had excellent meals. Never had a bad meal here and would highly recommend visiting.

We visited on spec as our local pub was full. We were accommodated in the family area, which was comfortable if a little noisy for an all adult group. We were just happy to be able to get a meal without having booked. It was good food too.

A Welsh friend organised an evening dinner meal as it is her favourite pub. I can see why - the drinks and the food were very reasonably priced. The food was excellent especially my banana fritters!

Went early evening, pint and burger, friendly staff and good food. Good selection of ales, small but comprehensive menu with plenty of kids options, well shaded outside garden, parking just down the road Would go again.

On holiday in Pembroke. Have visited Swan Lake many times over the last 20 years. Good pub food. Portions are excellent.

Lovely village pub, spotless...you really could eat your food off the loo floors, food really outstanding ....try the platter to share, well kept beer, can get busy but all the best things in life are worth waiting for, open all day, really nice beer garden for when Pembrokeshire gets a warm day. Our seventh visit.

Nice local pub serving food. Wasn't fine dining but was very tasty all the same. Service was spot on. Nice and quiet. Perfect after a nice long walk. Not the biggest of restaurants but it made it more cosy. Can see it getting busy at peak times.

Booked a table for 8am to watch the final Lions Test. Really welcoming and friendly hosts. The pub was packed out and the atmosphere brilliant. Hearty breakfasts served. A great start to the day. Thank you.

Passed yesterday at 2pm saw a sign food 12-9 called in just to be told that they do not make food until 4pm barman very aggressive when questioned sign outside and elderly locals very unwelcoming

Excelente comida en este encantador pub antiguo. Nos avisaron de que habría una espera para la comida, y no tome más de una hora en llegar, pero los bistecs eran de excelente calidad y cocinados a nuestro gusto ok si no están en una prisa!

When u first walk in the look of the pub is quite shabby but the quality and the amount of it is good very friendly staff we ate here a few times on our visit to manobier

Mi novia y yo visitamos este encantador Inn cuando camping en Penally, nos quedamos muy impresionados. El personal era muy simpático y servicial desde el momento en que entramos en el restaurante. La comida era muy razonable, una generosa porción y comida fantástica! El cóctel de gambas y lasaña son altamente recomendados. Espero volver, gracias por una gran noche.

Staff were really friendly and helpful and we had a really lovely time with the kids. Wine was fabulous and beer well kept. Didn't eat here but saw the food which looked great. Definitely worth a visit particularly if the sun is shining... Beautiful gardens.

Four of us stopped here for lunch and received a great welcome. Menu was varied and not over priced. Each of us had different dishes and all thought they were tasty and reasonably priced. Would defiantly return when next in the area.

Fron the exterior it looks like a lovely quiant pub. But inside it is suprisingly big. The layout is a bit strange, and we were seated in the back room for food. Kind of put me off as alot of the locals were in watching the football, so almost like a bar area. Staff were friendly & helpful and the menu had a vast choice. The sunday dinner was nice but it lacked variety of veg. And it was luke warm. the cheese burger my husband had. The puddings however were stunnings. Worth a visit but wont be rushing back.

Early autumn, only medium weather. few people in when we arrived at 12.30pm. Do you do lunches still, met with "of course, dining room or bar, we'll light the fire for you". And they did and the meals ( for five of us) were good honest pub food, nothing .pretentious or grand. Friendly staff, good value, clean loos, Well worth a visit. Can't speak for peak season, but the owners/ staff seem to be content and happy to feed folk

Limited choice but don't let that bother you. Simply the best lunch around with the freshest of local produce, good friendly service and value for your money. I will definitely recommend and look forward to going back when I'm in Pembrokeshire.

We found this pub by accident whilst driving around from Tenby. The staff were really friendly and we decided to have something to eat there as they made us feel really welcome. The food was delicious and very good value for money.

Food was good, wine was ok. We ate there on a rugby day so it was very busy and had to wait for drinks for a while but that's understandable. Not sure where else is close by that shows sky sports!

We have been to Swan Lake Inn many times and find it a good local pub, but time after time we have commented that food is spoilt due to cold plates. We visited again after a long time and again the same thing, food served on stone cold plates, so bad my wife could not finish her meal as it was cold. When we payed we again mentioned about the cold plates and was told, there are people who now ask for hot plates?Come on you guys this is basics in the retail food trade and also please can you lose the brown table covers!!!!!!!!

Visited this pub a view times while staying at the Tudor Glen campsite, really great pub for a family to visit. Food was home cooked pub food and was very tasty with a wide variety to choose from. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and service was excellent. There was a pool table and a quiz machine to keep the children entertained too. Would defo recommend this pub and when we return to the area we will return again.

We have taken friends here on numerous occasions and it is excellent. The food is excellent and the service is good and friendly. Usually it is advisable to book ahead especially in the summer. In the winter there is a cosy fire to add to the atmosphere.

Ate there twice.They serve good food for good prices.They are popular so it's best to book to make sure you get a table.its a lovely atmosphere and the staff are very friendly.I highly recommend it.

We always use this great old pub when we are camping in the Tudor Glen camp site next door. It does fantastic food with reasonable prices, always a great welcome in the bar with locals and holiday makers. Just a great atmosphere! Its got it all, with 3 rooms to chose from. Pool area with tv on wall, bar area and of course the restaurant area with an old fashioned fire place. Very cosy, also the beer garden. We just love this pub and without no doubt we will be back.

Good food, good value, lovely old pub. Three rooms to suit your requirements, good drinks and a beer garden when the weather is good. Always friendly and welcoming, a great land lord and land lady.

A quaint pub set on the main road from Manorbier through to Pembroke and well worth stopping off for a drink/break. We have called when the weather was bad and there was a roaring fire indoors , or as our last visit when the weather was good , so used the outside seating area,Friendly and welcoming with real ale and nice cider on offer. Parking facilities close by , with wheelchair access. A place well worth a visit if you are in the area.
