Expensive and rude. We went to St David's for the day with our two very well behaved dogs. We were delighted when we saw 'dog Friendly' displayed on the welcome board to this establishment. Our delight, however, was short-lived. We arrived shortly before 5pm (which we now know is their closing time). After ordering a couple of coffees and 3 cakes and spending over £20, we took our seat. As we were tucking into our incredibly dry walnut cake, about 15 men in hats came up the stairs, we assume they were using the space for a meeting. Our two pups became startled and started to bark. We were reassuring them telling them that there was nothing to worry about as the man behind the counter shouted across the cafe 'Are they going to settle down or what because I can't live with this - you'll have to go'. The dogs had now stopped barking, but we felt so uncomfortable we had to ask for takeaway cups and leave. The attitude of both the people working there was disgusting and we were made to feel so unwelcome in an instant. I said 'you have a sign downstairs to say dogs are welcome' to which he responded 'yeah, well behaved ones'. I can only assume that they don't have dogs, or they would understand that they do have a tendency to bark at times. We now realise they were basically chasing us out as it was closing time. Appalling. All I can say is if you don't want a lovely day ruined... AVOID. There are so many other lovely dog friendly venues in the area - this one is nothing special and certainly not worth the disgusting service.

Incredibly rude staff who show no interest in tending to customers. Man who I communicated with refused eye contact whilst shuffling me to another part of the store so someone else could ‘deal with me’. Clearly couldn’t handle basic human interaction. Should rebrand “The rude cafe” at least then people would know what to expect.

A quaint little coffee shop that offers a broad range of hot and cold drink. A very delightful (and mostly affordable) experience however the shop is small and may be prone to filling up quickly and I found the pastries/ baked goods rather dissapointing in taste.

A welcome pit stop right by the grounds of the cathedral. As it has such a good reputation, and as the business of making a proper brewed cup of coffee takes time, be prepared to queue at busy times. Rachel took her turn at the machine and dispensed delicious slabs of homemade cakes along with welcoming mugs of coffee. It’s definitely worthwhile checking out the jewellery and art while you’re there too.

All I wanted was a cup of coffee. Not a particularly long queue, but not moving because the one guy serving had zero sense of urgency. Also, for some inexplicable reason, you have to order upstairs, which causes more issues as people taking drinks and food from upstairs have to try and negotiate people coming in to order. How they cope during peak periods is a mystery. I gave up and walked out in the end.

Best water-based hot chocolate I have ever had. No self-respecting coffee shop would make hot chocolate with powder + water. They do. Flat white and americano OK. Cantucci biscuit a bit soft. Looked nice, turned out average. Sadly places like that are the reason why coffee chains strive

Don't bother. £2.50 for a tin of coke. Coffee expensive and very average. Staff lifeless, lacklustre and demotivated. Served coffee in a paper mug. Pretty venue, nice gazebo outside for protection from the rain. Steps are very steep to upstairs kitchen/serving counter, not suitable for disabled or young children. Too many tables and chairs packed into a very small space. Que leads between tables making a very awkward experience.

It was quiet (early November Sunday) under the awning, so gave it a go. We ordered a decaf cappuccino and a chocha mocha, and they were delicious. We didn't order any cake, but it was available. Outside has a awning and big wall, so it shelters you from the elements. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

This used to be our favourite dog friendly coffee shop and we have visited on our holidays for the last 8 years. Last year the upstairs was closed, we assumed after covid. We tried again this year for coffee and lunch, to be told the kitchen was closed 18 months ago and the only tables are downstairs in the shop, with no windows and coffee and cake only. We left as we wanted food but could see someone upstairs enjoying a coffee. Went straight to the pub next door for an excellent lunch. Won't be trying Pebbles again. So disappointing.

Don't think the chap working upstairs is happy in his work, it was as much as he could do to make us a pathetically weak cup of expensive coffee! My husband asked for the card receipt and his answer was....It's too much bother to do those.... of course when he came to the table and I asked how much he had paid I realised why he had not wanted to give a receipt as he had overcharged us by 80p..... I went up to tell him and straight away he said 'Oh I owe you 80p'.... so he knew what he had done! A lady sitting at the next table lent over and whispered....Happy isn't he'. We will not go there again.... Did mention it to the chap working downstairs.... Maybe they had had a row?

A wet morning in St David’s.. fond memories of Pebbles.. arrived at 5 mins to 10am(door open) told rather abruptly to wait outside as they weren’t ready .. Others were gathering and told tersely at 10.05am .. they still ‘weren’t ready’ ..I continued to wait,.. watched as a family of 6, who obviously didn’t like this abrupt attitude marched off in search of customer consideration elsewhere. Finally they said they were ‘Open’ 👍 I asked if they had any sandwiches.. As a bleary eyed camper, I’d failed to read the two BIG signs outside which said the kitchen was closed. Again this information was delivered in a confrontational way.. So! All that waiting and preparation… to serve coffee! I left, and said why I was leaving. Which was met with a cheery “Goodbye” All piffling I guess, but the complacent, off hand attitude of the staff was appalling. Someone needs a career change, preferably not customer facing.! Had a spectacular breakfast (and coffee) at Mamagu’s in Solva.

Not a great experience at this cafe: coffee okay but poor commercial cakes and not much choice anyway. Tables uncleared, rubbish on the floor and just to top it all overhead the owner say to the proprietor next door ‘ I’m closed now, sold out of everything - had enough of this nonsense’ as he gestured and scanned about at his customers. He didn’t think anyone had noticed or heard but I did!! Not a great attitude is it considering this is his business and he relies on his paying customers!! Sounds like he’s had enough of it all in which case he should go and do something else and let someone else run the cafe properly.

We have always visited here for a coffee when in the area but sadly this visit was a let down, they were moderately busy with tables outside full and a couple of tables inside occupied but even with 3 staff they are woefully slow, the young man making a sandwich finished that and then instead of helping his colleague filled paper cups with jam or cream 30mins before closing!!! She had to ask him to help her fulfill the order while he was standing doing nothing and I wouldn't like to say how many people walked back out after seeing the queue and speed of service (or lack of) not helped by a lack of table service (apart from sandwiches etc) only a counter service. Overall it was a disappointing experience. We wanted a soup, but this was sold out even by 1pm on a not busy day. We chose paninis instead - which turned out just to be cheap, toasted baguettes. This intriguing venue proves that if you’re the only place open for lunch in town, you can be the most popular. I wasn’t too concerned about the 2 out of 5 hygiene rating sticker in the window, hidden by the wheelie bin out front, after all, we have so far luckily survived the first wave of Corona. I only noticed it because we spent 25 minutes waiting for two sandwiches to be made for takeaway. And we can’t blame the chef for coming down, chatting to people for 5 minutes while we waited, slamming his foot into the bin to compact its contents. He was explaining how difficult it was to get back up to speed after so long off work. I suspect it would have been easier if he stayed in the kitchen while customers were waiting for orders, but we can’t blame the guy for being social I suppose. My wife’s can of Diet Coke tasted funny, and upon inspection was almost three months out of date. We would have driven it back to the shop, but didn’t have time to wait another 25 minutes for a replacement. Evidence attached. St David’s is lovely though, I would just recommend importing your own picnic. It would be quicker and safer than visiting here.

I didn't check if it was dog friendly upstairs but it was fine on the terrace. The coffee was very good. The cake and cream scone excellent. But the service was a bit odd, almost ambivalent. And whilst I don't mind not having table service, I did think it was a bit odd that you have to navigate the stairs yourself with a heavy tray of coffee and cakes, in order to get to the terrace. I think they'd benefit from table service to make it a better experienc.

This is the place for coffee in St. Davids. You can either sit in the cosy upstairs cafe or if the weather is fortuitous it is better to sit in the yard. From there you can watch the world go by on the square and on the road to the cathedral.

Ignorant staff, completely ignored as a potential customer who wanted to make a purchase. 10 minutes at the counter. Ignored and never acknowledged

That was a darned good flat white. A leaf that stayed until the end of the cup and it tasted mighty fine. Good work Pebbles

Popped in for a coffee and cake after walking the nearby coast path for most of the day. Service was very friendly, coffee and cake were good rather than exceptional but the atmosphere around the place very nice.

I've had some espressos in Rome, and this rivaled them!

Nice staff, very friendly. Food is way overpriced for what is on offer...no card payment...are we in the 21st Century? Had to carry own tray down steep winding upper floor self serve counter to a pleasant enough seating area outside. Upstairs eatery at best describable as shabby chic...use your own discretion at this description.

Went in for a late lunch as local pubs had stopped serving food. Ok we did have a view of the Cathedral from our outside table but thought everything was over-priced - £5.00 for a pot of tea! Food was very disappointing and apparently 2 slices of cucumber, 1 slice of tomato, a bit of shredded lettuce and teaspoon of coleslaw is a side salad. Wished we'd done more research rather than stopping at the first place that looked nice.

The chips were beautifully dry, not one bit of oil or grease. Thankyou

We have recently moved into the area and have had a few meals at St. Brides Inn, Little Haven. We have to say the staff are very friendly and attentive. Having visited on several occasions, we highly recommend the food. Comming from the United States, the salad is the best I have tasted in the UK. They have made my husband a salad lover...he hardly touched salad before having one of St. Brides Inn salads. If you love fresh fish, lobster and crab....this is the place to visit.
