The best pub in Tenby. I had a minor issue with my fish pie which was quickly sorted by the staff who were really friendly. I really enjoyed my visit and love this pub.

I had the fillet of fish of the day (sea bass) which was delicious and my girlfriend had king prawns cooked in garlic which were amazing

Food fantastic and reasonably priced had Welsh Cawl was lovely. Definitely come again.

Lovely pub great people and spend what you like. Always a friendly welcome. Recommended you pay a visit, you will keep coming back for definite.

Tenby Harbour Brewery beer is amazing, and they had 5 pumps (4 on that day). We didn't eat there but the food looked and smelled amazing. Definitely advise to book as there was barely space for us to sit for drinks. Great gastro pub, but not a traditional pub, any previous charm has been removed

Beautiful thick bloomer sandwiches that come with chips and salad. Don't have breakfast before you go there as large portion. Husband had ham and dill and I had fish sandwich which was gorgeous.

Great atmosphere, really good food: the crab and mussels is a must, although be hungry and prepared to get messy! Great option size, plenty of fish choice and authentic sea decor! Booking recommended though...

Steak and Ale Pie is the best! Also House Applewood Smoked Pork Bun is nice too. During my 3 day staying at Tenby I came here everyday. It’s always the safest choice when you looking for what to eat.

Great place for food and excellent beer too. Highly recommend a visit. We get to tenby a few times a year and we always make sure we eat at the Hope and Anchor at least once each visit (usually more than once)

GREAT FOOD! Dog friendly. We ordered Prawns with Potatoes and Vegge Tacos. All super fresh and delicious. Would definitely call again. Highly recommended.

A lively pub which is popular with locals and tourists. Good selection of alcoholic drinks available at reasonable prices. For those who like to try different ales or gins there are some available from the nearby Harbwr Tenby Harbour Brewery. The food was great, with generous sized portions. The staff were friendly and attentive (when required). Another bonus is the option to sit inside or outside depending on the weather!

Best cawl soup in tenby. Paired with mulled wine. Ball and chain had the festive Turkey roll with mulled wine - described as moist and elegant. Would eat here again

Lovely Sunday dinner in a lovely area 😊. Great selection of veg to accompany the beautifully cooked beef! Even though it was extremely busy the staff were very attentive and the wait for food was normal. Will definitely be back 😁

I wish I could give a 6th star to this wonderful pub. A bar area for locals, serving superb local beer from Tenby Harbour Brewery. A decent menu, but the food is sensational. We had Steak and Ale Pie, Lamb Cawl, Hake and Gammon. All were absolutely fantastic. Even down to the bread and cheese that came with the Lamb Cawl. The Steak Pie was off the scale good. Last words of praise are for the staff, several helpful, friendly and just downright lovely young women. If any ever go to Uni in Loughborough they can come and work at my pub! We love Tenby, and I'm not sure how we can ever eat anywhere else when we come again!!

I've not been to this pub before. The vegan curry was the best pub curry I've ever had. I've never seen so many different and interesting vegetables in a pub curry before. I don't write many reviews but had to comment on this. The pub is also very dog friendly. We shall definitely revisit.

A nice menu and friendly attentive staff make this a great place to eat. Never let's me down.

We've just enjoyed the best Sunday roast we've had in a very long time! Generous portions of meat (I had lamb, hubby had beef) and fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection. We had a bottle of South African Shiraz, which was also very good. Excellent value for money! You order at the bar but food arrived quickly and plates were cleared promptly. The pub was full to capacity so glad we booked ahead. Recommend highly and would definitely eat here again.

We had a fabulous meal with a young family of 5 it was perfect for the whole family. Every time we have been we always get a superb meal. Staff are extremely friendly and always welcoming.

Came here due to the reviews for the mussels and wasn't disappointed. They were probably the biggest mussels I've ever had.

Lovely meal again and good caring service. I was surprised how quiet it was but a lot of people enjoying their meals outside.

Great service from staff and a good atmosphere!

The first really delicious meal of the whole trip. Wonderful shells. The restaurant was a bit busy, there was a lot of walking back and forth, but it was also high season.

Authentic pub atmosphere with great foods & beers etc.

We had been to the restaurant a few years ago and it was lovely but when we visited again today it took just under an hour to get our food, our table had split our order so was about a minute apart, that was the apparent reason for such a delay but the rest of the party got their food within 5 minutes of ordering. When we asked where our food was we were told it was the next order out... Then five more orders came out. The next reason for the delay was about the fish pie that we had ordered and that it took twenty minutes to cook. At that point we were speaking to a member of staff who made us feel that we were the problem and that it was our fault. We thought that we deserved a refund but that "wasn't possible" instead we got a couple of free drinks. Overall the food was good but service not so much.

It was a very busy tea time and the staff managed to squeeze us in, many thanks. The food and real ale were great and service was quick even though they were packed out.

Friendly place to eat , dog friendly which is great , lovely coffees , the muscles were good 👍 , however chips were a little bland and the batter on the cod tasted unseasoned. Service was good , polite and prompt We have re- visited this place today 29/8/23 , hoping for a lovely lunch, and we got to the bar half hour early , so we had a cuppa until the kitchen was open , i went back to the bar at 11:55, to order another drink , and asked if they could take the pre-order for my lunch at same time , to be told no kitchen doesn't open til 12 , seriously! Its 5 mins ! The lady with the dark blonde hair was uncompromising with it , so busy standing around doing nothing else apart from talking to the other staff I went back to my table and waited for the 5 mins , and 1 for luck and returned to the bar , and ordered my drink which came with a whole 1 ( singular) ice cube, and said id like to order my food now , the gent who was serving me , had to check if the kitchen was now open , to which she nodded her head like the man from del-monte .... she says yes ! I was asked which table , to which i said i dont know what number and pointed to the one in the corner. I returned to my table ( now only half an ice cube left)to wait for lunch The restaurant started to fill , and the table next to us was occupied by a nice family who went up and ordered shortly after us ., im sure their drinks came back with more ice cubes ( #icecubeenvy is a real thing!) Our food arrived... but no cutlery on the table , then someone brought the table number over( should have been on tbe tables already) , then the cutlery arrived , was asked if we would like sauces , at which point we realised no salt or pepper on the table either. We tucked into our meal , and it was really nice , but that was the last we saw of anybody, except when someone came to check on the table next to us , and ask if their meal was ok , and if they wanted anything else? It would have been nice if anyone had checked on us . Maybe they were too busy standing around ... who knows ? Not sure what we did wrong ....maybe it was because i had the audacity of trying to order our lunches 5 mins early !!? Service in our experience has gone down hill while the the food was improved Not sure will be returning for a 3rd installment .

Great food friendly staff reasonable prices

Place was heaving…shown to a table and asked to order at the bar when ready. Food was incredible, could fault it at all. Prices were fair for the area Drinks were cold. Staff were great (some of them were young and obviously fresh) I honestly can’t recommend this place enough.

The waiter had headphones playing, and it wasn't for Comms as nobody else did. Slap dash service. No cutlery brought with the food. The food was nice.

Surprisingly good food and some excellent local ales at this handily located gastropub in the heart of Tenby. My wife and I had fish Tacos and a Fish pie, and both were excellent.

Tasty sandwiches but terrible customer service. Seems to be a culture created by the floor manager where staff can be rude and unhelpful.

Just had a meal (21/8/23 @ 6pm) and was shocked at how rude the lady at the bar was with shoulder length light brown/ dark blonde hair with grey patterned cardigan on. She took my order but was so incredibly rude as if she couldn’t be arsed to take it. When I asked if they do local draft beers, she pointed to a row of beers which I couldn’t see as I was standing on the corner and customers in front. I asked what she recommended and she just shrugged. I’m so annoyed I didn’t walk out at that point. I would have walked out had it not been raining and peak season trying to get a table elsewhere. Husband had belly pork that was delicious and we can’t fault it. We also had the fish and chips which was disappointing. Batter poor, fish fairly small for price, chips bog standard frozen. No tartar sauce and when I asked I got 2 plastic sachets ( really in a restaurant at that price ?) It’s dog friendly, I have no problem with that, but when one particular dog was barking throughout the duration of meal I feel staff should quietly have a word with owner as don’t want to listen to that. Disappointed as we saw how busy it was earlier in that day and was looking forward to it.

Nice pub, maritime decor - decent kids friendly menu - but some great dishes - Kerala style oven baked cod in light coconut sauce, basmati rice, coriander and lime was fantastic! £18.50.

So this is a ( PUB ) not interested in selling only drinks. Party of 12 of us went in last night to celebrate an engagement. Oerter 2 bottles of champagne. ( oh we don’t sell champagne) we will have 2 bottles of Prosecco then. ( oh how many of you are there?) 12 of us. (Oh you would be better going to another pub with so many of you) so we left and spent a couple of hundred quid else where. So guys don’t go here if you only want a drink. And spend a lot of money. No stars awarded to thus place.👎👎

Great busy pub that gives great service and good food.

We really enjoyed the meal at the Hope and Anchor. Delicious Moules Mariniere. Very, very busy (which tells you something) and the staff were quite simply remarkable. All good.

Food was amazing but we had ordered food and barely finished when we were asked to move to the bar area despite still having drinks, there were lots of empty tables around us and nowhere to sit in the area we had been asked to move. Finally the bar area was filled with older men drinking, I am a young woman who wouldn’t necessarily feel comfortable standing in the middle of a group of men…. Considering we had ordered food and drinks and been there less than an hour… it was very rude…

Lovely food, a bit over priced but where isn’t in the UK these days. Was rudely asked to move while finishing my drinks after food when there was several empty tables around. Will not be returning.

A great gastro pub in Tenby, hugely popular with a buzzing atmosphere. Great range of delicious fish dishes and generous portions.

As ever the food in here is brilliant. I had the shell on prawns, which were sweet and garlicky. Husband had the mussels which were plump and beautifully cooked. Good Mac and cheese and great fish and chips.

Very busy, crowded, noisy. Food quite good. Slow to take order, but good arrived quickly.

Amazing restaurant, recommend any fish dish, is cooked to perfection.

Shocking meal and shocking service! Dirty prawns, soggy salad and dipped chicken being called marinaded! The manager Kate was rude and made no effort to appease our terrible meal!

Hope and Anchor in Tenby in Wales has the most beautiful Bass dish I have ever tasted.Staff couldn't be nicer,friendly and super efficient.10 out of 10 for me.

I purchased a very rare rump steak....they offered me a blue steak. It was amazing, this place is the only reason I would return to Tenby.

A lovely restaurant in Tenby with outdoor seating and fresh seafood. We wanted to try the scampi and it’s tasty, but it could have a bit bigger bits under the crumbs, almost felt like we are eating only breadcrumbs.

Food was generous and pub was buzzing. Really happy with our meal. It seemed like the place to eat while in Tenby as it’s very popular with locals and tourists alike. Plenty of food options plus generous seafood specials. Would happily go again - might be worth booking on a busy summer night.

Stopped off to ask for a table for lunch. Shown to a table by lovely staff. Lovely atmosphere there. Food order taken quickly and the food was brought out lovely and hot and plenty of it. The tastiest fish pie I've ever had. Would recommend

Great place, lovely food! Advise booking or heading in early rather than late as they are very popular. The lobster was awsome, very good all round.
