FP, we called in at 11.45 to have a pint and read the menu before deciding if we were going to stay, I'm glad we did as by the time they were taking orders at 12.00 the place was full and I'm not surprised the food is wonderful, beautiful fresh local ingredients and warm plates, I highly recommend we will definitely be returning when we are in the area, mwah

Owned by local Harbour brewery and offering good choice of food with very good portion size. Thoroughly enjoyed their cod goujon sandwich in really fresh brown bread, served with mushy peas and tasty chips. My wife chose scampi and had plenty, plus a well presented salad and home cooked chips. Our Border Terrier was also very welcome as were plenty of other dogs. As expected the beer was also very good. Can definitely recommend.

Great pub. On the harbour, plenty of tables, great staff who really make you feel welcome and look after you, food and booze choices are excellent. We were in for the England v Wales 6 Nations match- as the only English in the pub the banter was great fun too - England thrashed Wales too so all in all a great day. Top people, excellent food, plenty of booze choice and proper banter = outstanding.

We had an outstanding meal at the Hope & Anchor! (Myself, my Wife & 9 month old son) I have eaten a lot of burgers in my life, but this might be the best I’ve ever had, the beef brisket fell apart and the burgers were full of flavour! My wife had the beef and ale pie and had the same reaction to that as me with my burger lol, as she said “they’ve given me have a cow here!”, normally restaurants skimp on the beef, but not H&A, plenty of meat and so much flavour! The food was reasonably priced and staff were friendly, we noticed that all the locals having a pint or food in there were really nice and made a fuss of our son (which he loved) haha. We will be returning! Diolch Hope & Anchor

Husbands chicken butter curry was great.my cod goujons sandwich on white bread was really poor. Normal thick bread used for toast, no butter on it, quite stale to touch, the gouchons turned out to be a frozen triangular fish from a supermarket. Other tenby restaurant's actually make their own fish goujons. Disappointed, but will return .

We walked in with a grumpy tweenager and immediately felt welcome. The Manc behind the bar was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Difficult deciding on choice because the menu is very good but for simplicity we all choose the burger with brisket. Daughter didn’t want cheese or gravy with burger but gravy comes separately in pot. The food arrived promptly and smelled wonderful my daughter dipped a chip in the marrow bone gravy that she didn’t want and said OMG! And she was right the brisket burger and chips was delicious but the gravy took it up to another gourmet level. A bottle of Malbec complemented the wonderful meal and evening. Staff were lovely and we chatted and thanked them for the experience. Daughter got to ring the bell.

Booked based on menu online (appeared to have a good range of seafood). On arrival only seafood pie (which to be fair was pretty good) o r fish and chips available (not the sea bass linguine we'd been looking forward to). Place was very noisy which might suit a younger crowd, but with my hearing aids made it impossible to talk. Had to order from the bar not table service. Not what I expect from a gastro pub.

Comfortable, cozy and welcoming. I visited on a bitterly cold evening and enjoyed a couple of beers whilst sitting close to the deliciously warming real fire. Not just a tourist haunt, this pub is very much a place for locals and the atmosphere is that of a vibrant neighborhood hub. The walls are adorned with historical photos, press cuttings and nic nacks - take a little time to look at them (the article headed, "Tenby man found naked with goat" is worth a read). There is a reasonable selection of alcohol beers/cider but there is room to improve (it's certainly a fastly growing market).

We went to the Hope & Anchor in Tenby for Sunday lunch today - I wished I'd taken a picture. The roast was literally out of this world. Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, brocolli, carrots, cabbage, leeks in a cheese sauce, mashed swede and delicious homemade gravy. (It said on the menu all vegetables were locally sourced and they were cooked to perfection). I am noted in my family for cooking a lovely roast but even I would've struggled to beat this roast. Came here for an evening meal while on holiday in Tenby - we hadn’t booked, but they found us a table in their outside eating area. Since it was a bit chilly, the helpful young server turned on the overhead heater for which we were very grateful. Husband had an enormous fish pie and I had a huge pile off very good quality mussels and fresh bread. We shared a bowl of chips. All the food was excellent and arrived promptly. As I can’t drink alcohol, due to a medical condition, I was glad to be offered an alcohol free larger and lime which was delicious. They even had a handicapped toilet on the ground floor to which the manager kindly took me. Excellent service all round. Price was very fair for the quantity and quality of the food. Would highly recommend

Four stars for food and waiting team, but be expected to be rushed out. We booked a table the day before for an evening meal, as we expected it to be busy. A usual table time is 2 hours. We ordered our food and drinks at the same time at the bar, this was a bit hectic as it was busy and people stood drinking at the bar, therefore you are shouting your order across the bar. If eating in the restaurant table service would be better to avoid the queues at the bar and mistakes being made. We ordered two fish mains and three children’s meals, with additional sides drinks, and a bottle of wine. The food came out quickly which was great for us having kids. There was a mistake made with one of the children’s meals but was rectified quickly , the young waiters were so helpful and friendly. The food was amazing, live mussels and the cod curry, we did want crab as had seen this advertised but sadly wasn’t available. After we had finished our mains we were drinking our wine and having a rest deciding on puddings, when the manager approached us and asked us when would we be leaving as they needed the table, despite other tables being empty. We had only been there an hour and already spent £100.00. Although the manager did return to the table to apologise, it had annoyed us so we left and bought puddings and more drinks elsewhere.

Honestly the burger was really underwhelming and other than the man serving at the bar the service was rubbish. I asked for some hot sauce, the guy disappeared for ages and then when I saw him again he said oh do you still want that. My partner loved his lobster and as usual (not sure why as they don't deserve it) the kids meals were crap. Good atmosphere and location and some of the other food around me looked really good so think I just picked wrong. Defo worth a try, just maybe stick to a fish or seafood option.

I saw the “no dogs sign”, but just wanted to ask as there was nowhere to tie him up outside and I was on my own and hungry. Next minute the member of staff member behind the counter, shouted at me telling me to “get out”, causing all patrons in there to stop and stare. I asked if they could take my order and that he was calm and wouldn’t cause a fuss and again I was shouted at to get out. Awful service.
