Booked an overnight stay for the 27th june for 2 nights to celebrate my anniversary. First of all, we was sent an email with a key code to enter the premises, no greeting or anything to make you feel welcome at all. The corridor was eerie, making you feel uncomfortable almost as if the place was haunted. The room was dark and drab , FILTHY , bed sheets looked like they’d never been washed, floor had bits all over it, the light in the bathroom was flickering, the bathroom was tiny you could barely fit two people in there. My boyfriend then called the property to speak to someone , nobody answered the phone. He then searched the property for the lovely outside area that is advertised on the photos, seemed to not exist. He then located the landlady who was extremely rude , obnoxious, had a vile attitude , didn’t seem to care what we had to say and said a refund was not on the cards. We was at the property for all of 15 mins then left. Would not be staying at this property ever again. Vile place.

I have satayed in many many B&B's and found them all to be very good in general. However, I feel people should be aware that these pictures and the description are not representative to how this place is now. It's owners have changed in recent years and it lacks maintenance with unpleasant odours in various places, poor shower, it is unclean and has poor decor. We had no access to the bar and terrace as the restaurant was closed. Sorry but although this place has potential of being great, currently it is NOT fit for purpose. If only we could have got good feedback before we booked, I am not the type of person who makes complaint but felt people should be made aware of how poor this place is.

Adhoc visit while paying a visit to beautiful bewdly... friendly and sociable staff good variety of alcoholic drinks and good atmosphere. Were where not overly hungry so we chose 2 platters one being fish and one being meat... these two platters happly fed four of us with possibly enough spare for 2 more... excellent food and a pretty speedy delivery to table with a lovely smile. Manager informed me they had only been going in current format for a few months...so well done for the service we witnessed. Realy hope you can continue to thrive. Will certainly be looking to return on our next visit to this little gem. Thanks all for todays service and hospitality.

Absolutely amazing service from the waitresses Jade and Lizzie. Literally top notch. Served promptly and attentively. Both girls an absolute credit to the place. Food was very good too. Nice place. Nice setting. Pleased they were able to accommodate us on a Saturday afternoon without a booking. Mussels ever so slightly undercooked but they were flavoursome and not at all rubbery. Kids liked their cod goujons, boyfriend enjoyed his fish n chips. Would revisit. Would recommend.

We were disappointed that no food was being served apart from our Breakfast on the morning we checked out. The bar was also closed. We had booked our room based on the photos showing the bar, beer garden and views but couldn't actually use those facilities as we were told on arrival the bar and food service is only Saturday and Sunday. We understand circumstances are difficult at the moment due to COVID but you should update your website with current facilities available. We had planned to eat in the restaurant but had to go elsewhere. We ate at the other place we had considered staying and wished we had booked there instead. The bed was comfortable and quirky decor which I liked but you should lower your price to reflect the current reduced available facilities mon to fri.

Another tasty meal at The Swan, all covid precautions followed, much appreciated. Our party had the turkey, pork and beef, all beautifully cooked and with freshest vegetables and cauliflower cheese. Puddings are as good as ever, I had the meringue nest, delicious, my friends had the cheesecake which was all eaten with gusto. Service was excellent as usual. Will return.

Stayed for one night and wouldn’t be returning any time soon. No hot water when we arrived, dim lighting everywhere ( couldn’t even see to put the key in the door, even mid sunny day). Breakfast in the morning: glasses, cups, saucers, cutlery all had dirty marks. No apology when mentioned to staff member. Hair found in partners food. Not worth the money.

Been to the swan inn a good few times and the one thing that has always been consistent is the great and friendly customer service we receive from the waiter/bar man Jack, he’s a credit to this establishment and doesn’t just serve and take orders, he’s become more of a friend who we look forward to seeing and catching up with on our evenings out, this reflects in our 5star rating

We stayed at the Swan Inn at short notice as we were visiting the area, having been out in the rain for most of the day we were looking forward to our arrival and sitting by the fire to warm up, this was not the case as soon as we walked in we both said how cold and uninviting our greeting was with the proprietor until she handed us over to Jack who was an absolute star. Jack showed us to our room which was absolutely freezing, the shower room in totally inadequate with a tiny hand basin and the toilet seat was loose and glaze missing off both the seat and inside the pan wasn’t very inviting oh and again no heat in there at all, it was like a fridge, we decided not to shower as the cubicle looked extremely grubby and due to the coldness of the room, the suede sleigh bed was very dusty and needed a good hoover as were the bedside lights, all the furniture felt tacky and in need of a good clean. We had dinner which I have to say was very acceptable and again Jack was attentive and obliging asking us if we needed anything. Breakfast wasn’t the best a dresser filled with all manner of children’s cereal which I do not eat, and a selection of yogurt but no fruit. We were asked if we wanted tea or coffee, and literally that was it one cup of coffee, no one about to ask for another, more to the point no offer for a further cup. Zero hospitality in this place very dull and extremely cold and very expensive due to lack of basic facilities. Think you both need to brush up on hospitality skills, clearly not a nice place to have a drink in for locals as Saturday evening was dead, please don’t use the excuse that it was due to bonfire displays etc.I don’t normally get personal, but there is something very strange about the whole place, as we left the breakfast room we were totally ignored, if it wasn’t for Jacks personality god help them.

We have been for food a few times and have always enjoyed the Sunday lunches, We received our meals and no one came to ask us how our food was so we did not get the chance to tell them that the meat was just full of fat. We waited ages for someone to clear our food away but no one came.. so we decided to go to the bar to pay for the food, the waiter asked how our food was and we explained that it was not the best at all. We dint get an apology or anything, was quite bad really as we bought our friend for lunch to show them how amazing the Sunday dinner was.

My wife and I booked up in March for a 2 night stay, reviews were good, so we booked. We arrived on 25th August to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had only been there less than 30 minutes, when I had a fall in the road, and injured both my hands. We ended up sitting in the bar for a couple of hours, after explaining what had happened. Only a young bar man showed any concern for me. We had a drink, then went up to our room, where I was felling a lot of pain. We had a meal booked for 7 pm, and came down around 6.45. I asked if there was any where I could have my hands checked, but no one knew if any where was open, being bank holiday Sunday. We were shown to a table, 50 minutes later we were asked if we were ready to order, another 40 minutes and food was brought. We had turkey roast, looking around at different plates most had large yorkshire puddings on, ours included. Made it look like a big meal, but I thought what we had was over priced. After eating, we went back to our room. My injuries were getting worse, so at 8 am next day we explained that we were going to hospital, and could I settle my bill. No one asked how I was, and I was made to pay for the 2 nights, which under my circumstances, I thought they may have waved the second night we didn't stay. My injuries ended up being a broken left wrist, and a broken right thumb.. We will not be returning.

OMG what has happened!!!!!!!Could not believe the change in this place. We arrived early sat outside for a pre dinner drink. We sat we wondered and we waited!!! And waited!!!! the was obviously a problem, but not nobody came to explain what was going on the was some unsettled customers all wondering what’s going on.....the two people in charge seemed to disappear(but the young lad was rushing around trying to keep calm) I’m a tad confused the guy with the long hair behind the counter who is a scruffy doesn’t seem to have a customer service or manner. Lesson to be learned don’t blame others because things are going wrong! Communication with your Customer is most important people will be less forth coming in complaining. I tried not to be too critical as I work in hospitality but I found this very rude of the guy behind the bar with the long hair!! yes we get sicknesses but come on help out where is needed.......My only conclusion would be that either you don’t have an idea how a kitchen works, front of house are the ones taking the bookings, spread them out we all know that if things are being cooked fresh and cooked to order they take longer, staff accordingly it’s bank holiday weekend.... you really do need to get grips with this or you are wasting your time.... The was no offer of money off the drinks that is what it is and that’s it!!! Oh no sorry I’ll blame the chef so easy to do....A very unhappy customer. To top this off we found out some friends came a week earlier and had to wait 2 hours for food. Such a shame

We have been eating and recommending this establishment for a few years normally favouring Table 9 in the tastefully decorated Bar area. Yesterday (July 21st) us and a group of friends had booked a table for Sunday lunch. After bragging to our friends how good the food was going to be, alarm bells started to ring! Firstly the Menu clip board had been replaced with a tacky piece of paper and there was a rather scruffy man with long hair behind the bar. Knowing the high standard always adhered to by the staff this wasn't ringing true. We then realised he was the new owner and the Chef was no longer there. We ordered our food but had a sinking feeling in our stomach. When the food eventually reached us after a ridiculously long wait it was inedible! The vegetables were bland and just plonked in a dish, the beef extremely tough and the gravy appeared to have been made in the microwave as I believe alot of the food was too. There were loads of people complaining around us. I felt very sorry for the young Staff, Tom the Waiter and who has been at The Swan for a long time, was as professional as ever and couldn't apologise enough. I can not believe how a place like the Swan with it's excellent first class reputation could be reduced to the worst place I have ever eaten!! The new Owner should have had his hair tied up if he was going to be serving food to a table. As it is out of town, places like the Swan have to have a good reputation for excellent food otherwise they will not succeed. The food was not worth half of what they are now charging. It is such a shame and I for one will not be returning. I do however commend the young Staff there and we will miss seeing them. My priority now is to try and track down where the old Chef has moved on to. His Sunday lunches were the best in the County! I have awarded one star for the Service on here, that does no reflect on the young staff it was for having to wait over an hour for our lunch!

I can't tell you how many times we have visited this wonderful place. The food is consistently fantastic. Not sure whether the bad review I have just seen on here is not a mistake and they have reviewed the wrong pub?.. The Chef has not changed and the standard he turns out week after week is a credit to him. I am vegetarian and have been in the week as well as for regular Sunday lunch and there has been plenty to chose from and very delicious too and very good value for money. The Staff are consistently friendly and attentive and the decor is very tasteful and appealing. We always recommend The Swan if asked where the best Sunday lunch can be found.Oh and the Yorkshire pud is to die for lol...lift it up and there is tons of tasty food underneath. Not sure if there is a change of management or chef but it just was not the same. My friend and I often meet here on sunny days as it has a nice beer garden and good food, but after our recent visit neither of us will return. As 2 veggies there was usually some good options but last night the only real good option for us was a mushroom and goats cheese burger (or pasta, but who wants to pay £12 for a pasta); you can just tell that the chef does not care to create a good veggie option if that's the choice. The burger was like eating soggy mush, the mushroom had completely drenched the bun and gave a horrible taste to the goats cheese. My friend also asked for fries instead of chips and was quickly told no, even though they feature on the menu "they only have a select amount of portions just to go with the steak". It just felt off, not good vibes anymore.

16 of us had dinner on a Sunday evening. With that many you can’t expect a particularly swift service and that proved to be the case. Those of us who had the various roast dinners were very impressed, those who had the nut roast or the Camembert were not. Starters and puddings were fine. So if you go the roast beef etc then I would recommend this restaurant.

First impressions was that the downstairs area of pub was pleasant and welcoming. However experience was a bit disappointing from there onwards...When we booked we had asked if we could check in early as we were driving up for a wedding and needed somewhere to change beforehand. When we arrived we were told that none of the 3 rooms we’d booked were ready so would have to change and get ready for the wedding in the smelly toilets. Really disappointing considering there were 5 of us, toilets were smelly and small and we had requested early check in way in advance. When we went into the loos to change, we realised they were smelly, small and dirty so I went back to the bar and asked if we could at least change in one of the guest rooms even if the cleaners hadn’t been. This was better than the cramped toilets but far from ideal as we would still have to put all bags and suitcases back in the car.

Despite prior mention that we would be bringing the dog we were initially told we could not use the restaurant area but were directed to a dark bar area. After protest the young man went to check with mangement and were told that we could use the the light and airy restuarant. Not a good start! After waiting a fair while I had to go and search for the only staff member to place our food order. There was then a prolonged wait until it arrived. We had both ordered steak ,although with different sauces, one medium rare and the other well done. Only after sauces had been poured did we realise that we had been served wrong steaks. This aside the food was very good but the whole experience was spoiled by the lack of service.

We stayed here for one night, great on first inspection. Bar and restaurant are very pleasant and the drinks are well priced, although the atmosphere was soured somewhat by the christening party effing and blinding!!! The food is over priced and ordinary £11.75 for a carvery. The cheeseboard however, is spectacular. Our bedroom seemed ok till we went to bed. The mattress was past its best, uncomfortable and totally unsupportive and the metal bed frame created a cacophony of noise. Perhaps tightening the frame may do the trick, otherwise consign it to the scrapyard. The bathroom needs a good bleaching around the sealant and grouted areas, the attached photos will demonstrate exactly why. It is not acceptable in accommodation that is charging £75 per night. Overall, the swan has the potential to be a fantastic place to stay but, at the moment it needs a lot more attention to detail

We have visited The Swan several times over the last year. The outside needs a little sprucing up but the inside is very welcoming and cosy. The Sunday roast is good but spoilt by the roast potatoes which taste like they were cooked hours ago and kept warm and the cauliflower cheese needs a lot more cheese. The deserts do vary from delicious to not so good. The main thing that lets this place down is the staff or lack of. We have waited so long for food to arrive that some meals have been finished before some have reached our table. Long wait for table to be cleared and for desert menu to arrive then another long wait for deserts to be ordered. It's not just us, the group on the table behind us were so fed up of waiting that they up and left. The staff are mostly young and seem to hang around the bar area instead of attending tables. I think a lesson in customer service is long overdue. Will we visit again?????

Lots of unique areas to eat, bright conservatory overlooking the valley or more private beamed rooms. Five of us visited this hotel for our regular Friday lunch after reading the rave reviews but were very disappointed. The starters were the first let down, consisting of bland, tasteless soup and flavourless smoked salmon. However, we looked forward to our mains which sadly were just as bad. Four tough, chewy steaks and a dry salmon main later and then on to stale desserts. We complained to the waitress as the owner who we initially spoke to had disappeared, but all we got was an apology and a bill for £50 a head! Needless to say, we will not be returning or recommending this restaurant.

Driving for a very short time (5-10 Min.)from centre of Bridgnorth the Swan in with its wonderful glass enclosed terrace cannot be missed. The car park at the rear is on a slope. The welcome from Abby (Assistant Manager) was charming and the whole restaurant was stylishly decorated and v. comfortably furnished. We were soon seated with drinks and menus to enjoy. The menu (lunchtime) include light bites & sandwiches and the main courses showed a good variety, including steaks, fish, pasta and burgers, and on enquiry a Children's menu was available (for when we return with our grandchildren). We chose bread with olives, oil and balsamic glaze to start - delicious in all elements. For main course I had the 10 oz rump steak cooked, which it was as apposed to the often scorched outside but cold in the middle; the seasoning was so well done and delicate that I didn't use the french mustard that I had asked for.

We went here for a sunday dinner, the chef was also able to cater for coeliacs. I was very impressed by the chefs knowledge of food and they provided gluten free gravy. This is always a good thing as it shows that they cook their food from scratch not like some places where are not able to tell you what is in their food as it has just come out the freezer. I certainly would return as the Sunday lunches are fab and my husband had roast beef with an enormous yorkshire pudding on the top and amazing roasted vegetables. Staff were very friendly and the place had fantastic ambience- we will return!

We have visited The Swan several times over the past five years, usually as part of a group of five or six, and the experience can be a little variable. The building is very nicely presented on the inside, though often a bit on the cool side if the weather is very cold outside. There are several different seating areas that are very comfortable and very nicely laid out, with plenty of space for dining tables in the main Pub rooms, and more in the spacious and attractive conservatory dining area. The food is always good, and sometimes very good, which is what I mean by a little variable. But even with all these good points there are still a couple of things that would make this a really great Dining-Pub. The main peeve is the really very disappointing selection of beers available at the bar. This is such a missed opportunity as Shropshire is renowned for it's excellent local breweries, with a wealth to choose from. I know many people who would be keen to visit, and eat at The Swan if there were a selection, or any, good ales on draught. People who want to be in nice surroundings, and eat good food, also want good beer, it really does go together, and would definitely enhance the experience. It would also be beneficial if there was an extra member of staff on duty, on each of our last three visits we have had to wait at an empty bar for someone to come out and serve us, or take our payment, because they were also serving the food, or working in the kitchens. I know these are only little niggles, but addressing them would make a big difference, and would make The Swan a really great place to visit.

This was the first time we have visited the Swan, it was just brilliant right from walking through the door all the staff made us feel very welcome and it was just a great atmosphere, the service was brilliant and the food was delicious and of a very high standard. As this was Christmas day there were some additional treats which included a cheese board and some biscuits/ brownies....fantastic and we will be returning very soon.

A reliable venue where the staff are always attentive, the atmosphere is warm and friendly and the food of a consistently high standard. Not a huge choice on the menu which I prefer but I've never had a bad meal here and after your food you can chill in the glow of the open fire.

4 kids 3 adults; good menu; child menu good value and excellent food; I have rare sirloin as did my bro; absolutely excellent, cooked and the piece of steak is one of the better experiences I have had in UK this year. Burger was lovely (not mine and Haddock , and risotto were also excellent. The pub is warm friendly; very good beer (Swan ale was great. Staff friendly. IT would be hard to say what could be done to make a better experience; really impressed; and believe me I go to a lot of pubs but this deserved me reviewing! would return; and would fully recommend; Thanks owners and staff - keep up the good work

The food, ambience and service at the Swan is always excellent. From time to time we try somewhere else for Sunday dinner but other places just don't compare. Liam, Abi and the rest of the waiting on/ bar staff are always pleasant, competent and efficient. The food is home cooked by Justin and the standard and consistency of the food is a credit to him and the kitchen team. It's a lovely venue for family get togethers and larger parties too. A must visit if you are local or in holiday in this beautiful area of Shropshire.

From the food to the reception room to the stunning views to the lovely helpful and attentive staff we could not have wished for a lovelier place to spend our wedding day. People are still talking now about how the evening buffet was the best they had ever had anywhere. Thank you is not enough for how grateful we are for the most amazing day which you helped us have ♡ Joanna & Ben ☆

Stayed B&B; at The Swan to make the most of a day off the following day.Arrived at 7:30 in the evening having travelled 100 miles or so and immediately booked a table in the restaurant as we were hungry by then. The menu had a 3 course offer for £19:95 and seemed very attractive. We selected from the offer menu and ordered a bottle of Rioja and a Pimm's.

We booked a last minute break over May day weekend after the weather for camping looked poor. As we drove up, the kerb appeal initially made us think we'd made a mistake .. but the bedroom was fantastic!! It was well thought out, with a four poster bed and walk in shower. Both evenings we found a tasty homemade treat under a closh, which was an inspired concept! Breakfast was in the newly built conservatory, full English, coffee, toast, juice, cereals, yogurts. During breakfast we noticed they did sunday lunch and luckily they had space for us and the family who were staying nearby. The roast was absolutely delicious! Some of our party chose to visit the following day for lunch (Monday), they enjoyed the food that much! It was lovely to chat to the owner over breakfast to hear how they had grown the business and slowly improved the fit out over the time they had owned it. They really have done a fantastic job.

We booked for a meal at The Swan, having not visited in recent years, but hearing such good things about it. The menu provided us with a great choice, offering several different options to suit everyone's taste, the service was excellent and the food arrived at the table very promptly. The portion sizes were great, and the food was of excellent quality. We were seated in the recently refurbished conservatory with spectacular views over the River Severn, the decor was also contemporary and the warm lighting and music all created a welcoming atmosphere. We couldn't fault the evening and shall definitely be returning soon.

Nine of us met for dinner to celebrate two birthdays and had a very nice stay. My steak was particularly tasty and cooked perfectly, starters and puddings nicely presented. My room was well appointed and comfortable. No amenities in the bathroom a slight downside. Disappointed that we could not get after dinner drinks past 11pm despite all nine of us staying over. Breakfast was all you could ask for in a robust full English - nicely presented. Staff were very pleasant.

We booked this very last minute as we were visiting relatives nearby and wanted to break the journey. From booking in to leaving we found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. The room was a good size with an en-suite shower room. The room would benefit from redecorating and the shower room updating but everything was there and worked.

I stayed here for three nights whilst on a course. It is reasonable clean but not great. The carpets upstairs in the corridors were particularly bad. Bedding was spotless, but my room was painted grey and was very dark and was not very comfortable. Just a room to sleep in, not relax. One of the staff members did say they will shortly be upgrading. We had one evening meal on the first night which was adequate but went out for the remaining nights. Breakfast again was adequate. I would not stay here again. There was a steep staircase to get to the bedrooms, although there is a backdoor for residents but the car park was very steep so not good for anyone who is not steady on their feet. The staff were very nice and helpful.

We have eaten here many times, perhaps 50 times. Invariably at lunchtime during the week (Monday to Friday) when they offer 2 for 1 main meals. The quality of food is excellent. As they are 3 or 4 miles outside Bridgnorth they are never busy at lunchtime. Inside it is split between a restaurant and bar area. Outside there is a nice patio. The bar area is full of nooks and crannies with numerous tables which you can also eat at. The bar area and its tables are dog friendly.

Went for a Sunday evening dinner with hubby wow from the minute I rang to book a table to finish staff were extremely polite and helpful but not In your face , we both had the goats cheese for our starters with steak for mains absolutely beautiful and steak was cooked to perfection for sweets I had crumble and my husband had chocolate brownie and mine was on of the best crumbles I have eaten my husband said the brownie was out of this world but it could do with being a little larger. All the food was presented in a beautiful quirky way we last visited 3years ago but after last nights visit it won't be long before I go again . I would highly recommend a visit to the swan for a perfect relaxed meal .
