This is high end Indian dining. The place is gorgeous. Very soothing & genteel. Over poppadoms & chutney we sipped a Japanese Roku gin & a glass of French rose. A very pleasant start. Our mains were halibut malabar, daal tadka, basmatic rice & a garlic chili naan. This is Indian cooking at the highest level. Supremely delicious, nuanced with layers of spicing. Nothing too forward. The manager kept checking in on us & he was a pleasure to chat with. He insures the enjoyment of his guests.

A Truly Exquisite Experience at Swadish From the moment I stepped into Swadish, I knew I was in for something special. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between contemporary elegance and traditional Indian charm. Warm lighting, tasteful decor, and the gentle aroma of spices set the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable dining experience. The service was exceptional — attentive without being overbearing. Staff were welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu, and eager to offer recommendations tailored to our preferences and the food — absolutely phenomenal.

A Culinary Enlightenment at Swadish – By Dilbagh & Taran For 21 years in Glasgow, I have sought an experience that transcends mere dining—something that speaks to the soul as much as it delights the senses. Last night, alongside Taran, that moment arrived at Swadish. A meal is not just the sum of its ingredients, nor is a restaurant defined solely by its walls. It is the harmony of intention, execution, and human connection. Swadish does not just serve food; it orchestrates an experience where flavours, service, and atmosphere converge into something almost sacred. The evening felt like destiny fulfilled—two months of anticipation culminating in a night where every detail was a testament to passion. And then, Ajay himself appeared, embodying the very spirit of his creation. That personal touch elevated the night into something profound. For the first time, I felt as though I had stepped into a true star restaurant, not because of accolades but because of the undeniable mastery at play. Swadish is more than deserving of a Michelin star, yet its true brilliance lies in the way it leaves hearts full, minds awakened, and souls nourished. Our next visit will be with family—because experiences like this are meant to be shared.

First time visit last Friday. The food was very nice indeed and as a seafood lover was very pleased with the choices on offer. My only complaint was the portion sizes were small to say the least. £26 for a starter of 3 very small scallops seemed over the top and £24 for 3 small pieces of monkfish just as bad

We had a wonderful evening celebrating here with the most delicious food and beautiful service. The steak was perfect, the mash was smooth and fluffy, and I have no idea what the sauce that accompanied was, but i still dream of drinking it by the mug. Our curry was so flavoured and aromatic whilst also being light with sides that just made the dish. The hospitality was outstanding, and we couldn't fault a thing. Have already planned our next return and recommend to friends. Thank you to everyone.

Visited Swadish and had a pleasant experience overall. The ambience was warm and inviting, with a good atmosphere. Service was okay, but the quality of food stood out—flavors were well-balanced with just the right amount of spice. Went to try their thali but was not aware that it is only available till 4 pm. The dessert was the highlight, truly the cherry on the cake. However, the portion sizes were a bit small. Despite that, we enjoyed our meal and had a good experience overall.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Swadish, and it truly exceeded my expectations. Recommended by a friend, I chose this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion—my new job—and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I've had in the UK. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally polite, friendly, and professional. Their attentive service made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our meal. The ambience of Swadish is vibrant yet comfortable, making it perfect for both celebrations and casual dining. The menu offers a delightful array of Indian dishes that are both innovative and authentic. I was particularly impressed by the unique options available, such as soft-shell crab and burrata butter chicken, which you won't find in typical Indian restaurants. Each dish we tried was bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. A highlight of our evening was when the owner, Ajay Kumar, personally came to greet us. This thoughtful gesture added a personal touch to our celebration and made our day even more special. I wholeheartedly recommend Swadish to anyone looking for exceptional Indian cuisine in Glasgow. I can't wait to return with my family for another memorable dining experience!

To say this was the best Indian restaurant in Glasgow would do it a disservice, it’s just one of the best restaurants in Glasgow full stop. The food is impeccable. The meat is perfectly cooked, the flavours all stand out and the portion sizes are good. It’s not your typical chopped meat in sauce, it’s really fine dinning done Indian style. The service was excellent, all of the staff were great. I’m really looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu.

Every so often, they generously share excellent recipes on Facebook, and I’ve tried making several of them at home. Each one has turned out absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors and easy to follow. It’s clear that the passion for food and quality is at the heart of everything this restaurant does. Even though I actually loved the food and the whole experience, with the bill of nearly 200 quid for 2 ppl, I gotta be strict. The food was amazing. The Indian inspiration was clearly coming through but at the same time it did not fight the delicate meats. The spicing was just so, you could move on to the next course without the aftertaste from the last one. The dishes differed one from another, and were constructed with great care. Don't expect just the regular set of curries here. However, here comes the first but. PLEASE, HEAT THE PLATES! What a pity to destroy such a piece of art by something as silly as a cold plate. I would also appreciate a tasting menu at a restaurant with this pricepoint, and the bar could be more refined. As somebody else mentioned in their review, the bathroom could use some work. Good job, but a room for improvement still left. Wishing you all the inspiration, ambition and luck you will need.

Most amazing fine dining experience I've ever had as a vegan. Partner who eats meat, also had an amazing meal. Can tell the chef has put a lot of time and expertise into flavour balance, combinations, and presentation. Paired wines with each course. Service outstanding. Hung up our coats on arrival and remembered which coats were ours on the way out. Little touches that are hard to find these days. Very attentive staff. Very professional. Chilled atmosphere, with chilled background music. Reasonably priced given the whole experience and care in the food and service. (Only to be picky, but I do like a wee candle on the table and think it would suit the ambience of the place, but that's personal preference).

Trying to give some constructive feedback. Firstly the food was great and the presentation was nice. We booked here because of what looked like a fantastic experience on the website and maybe this set my expectation very high. Couple of smallish things: We ordered drinks and then had to ask for them to come We ordered food and the rice and naan were wrong (we ordered garlic and plain and we received plain and chilli). We ordered a small wine and a large one came. The last thing is the toilets…I felt like I was in a school toilet. It’s very clear there has been no investment in here, the most basic sinks, it felt like a big contrast between the quality of food (£350 for 4) and the quality of the toilets, it jarred. These are small things but they all contribute towards the experience and I hope you take this feedback constructively as it’s intended.

Have wanted to try Swedish for a long time, finally went and was underwhelmed. Initial impressions.. lovely decor, lots of staff and nice atmosphere. Sat down and were asked if we wanted water for the table. Water arrived and then waited a while to be asked what alcoholic/soft drinks we wanted. Ordered two different glasses of white wine, different prices then waited an age again to be asked the food order. Lots of staff buzzing about the restaurant floor too. Ah the floor…the floor is highly polished wood, looks nice but the chair constantly pushing back from the table annoyingly so as the floor was so slippy. Starters arrived, lovely presentation, nice flavours, and best course of the meal. Two fish mains then came out with overcooked fish, mine with the same sauce as my partners starter. Partners monkfish very overcooked, dry and chewy. My own slightly less overcooked but still a bit dry/chewy. Ordered another 2 of the same wines and when placed on the table the waitress indicated what one was what but clear from colour/taste she got them the wrong way round…there was a £4.25 difference in price between them and it wasn’t an issue to swap after a taste of each. Again waited ages for dessert to come out which for £10 each was the most bland tasteless desserts I remember ever having in a restaurant. They looked fab but genuinely parts of one had no flavour at all, the textures weren’t great and the sorbet on one was the smallest amount I’ve seen on a plate..must have used the smallest teaspoon to do the quenelle. I don’t grudge £10 for a dessert at all but I want it to be worth it for flavours not just how it looks. Staff were very pleasant but a level of inattentiveness and misplaced tasking to create the look of the place rather than add to the customer service experience, vibe was nice but as a restaurant underwhelming and overrated. Much better Indian restaurants in the area for flavours, but if you want prettier presentation over substance at a higher price then maybe this is more your place. Also not prone to heartburn but left with it from food that wasn’t overly spiced nor large portioned. Shame wanted to love this place too. Pretty looking place and food, but had better cooking.

As a home chef and passionate foodie, I've been following Chef Ajay on Facebook for quite some time. His cooking videos, along with the vibrant flavors and spices he uses and the techniques he demonstrates, made me fall in love with his food long before I had the chance to taste it. When I found myself in town, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to experience his cuisine firsthand. I'm delighted to share that the flavors I had imagined from his videos matched the reality perfectly. We tried the Punjabi lamb shank, which was incredibly succulent and paired with a rich, heavenly gravy. The paneer tikka was bursting with flavor, and the Kashmiri lamb chops were infused with mouthwatering spices. However, the gosht rasa arrived cold, which was a bit disappointing. The roe deer korma didn’t quite suit my Punjabi palate, though it may appeal to non-Indian diners. I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Ajay in person, and despite his busy schedule, he graciously took the time to visit our table. His humility is truly admirable. I mentioned that he’s on the path to earning a Michelin star, but he humbly replied that he is still learning. Overall, it was an unforgettable dining experience, and I look forward to seeing Chef Ajay continue to shine.

Drinks and water were provided promptly and any queries on the menu were addressed in a friendly and professional way. The poppadom appetiser was the most interesting I've ever seen. Starters were fabulous. Some were more dramatically presented than others but all were very generous and very tasty. Main courses were more of a mixed bag. Everything tasted very nice but the monkfish main looked a little mean compared to the other choices we made. Puddings all looked amazing and everyone agreed they tasted great too. Impressed! Came by this as 'highly recommended' from another foodie. Glad I followed up as Swadish really 'got it right'. Smart venue, spot on service and wonderful food. Ajay offers Indian cuisine with a bit of a twist, well prepared, smartly presented and tastes that explode in your mouth! Really good, really enjoyed. Highly recommended, look forward to coming back.
