Incomprensiblemente s / hite. Imagínese esto: esperé 10 - 15 minutos en el bar para que me pidieran mi pedido, mientras que literalmente solo había 3 de nosotros en el bar en total. ¡Resultado! Finalmente me sirvieron y pedí un Negroni que está en la primera página del menú de cócteles. Más esperando. Resultó que a mitad de camino, haciendo que mi bebida les faltara un espíritu básico como Campari o algo así, tuve que cambiar mi orden. ¡No hay problema! Pedí un Old Fashioned. PAGO por el Old Fashioned y me dijeron que lo iban a llevar a mi mesa. Todo bien. Pasó el tiempo y me compraron una bebida. Admito que no pensé que pareciera un Old Fashioned estándar, pero no soy un experto en cócteles y este lugar parecía un poco extraño de todos modos, así que bebí un sorbo. No, definitivamente no es un Old Fashioned. Lo habían echado a perder y me habían regalado una Margarita. Me quejo . . . No, a regañadientes sigo bebiendo. . . No vale la pena quejarse y esperar otros 20 minutos intentando tomar una copa. El alcohol sigue siendo el alcohol ¿verdad? La gente comete errores. Es genial. Estos chicos rellenaron mi pedido, me trajeron la bebida equivocada. . y luego, si eso no es lo suficientemente aficionado, dame el descaro absoluto a BLAME ME por tomar un sorbo de la bebida que me entregaron y me dijo que también le debía el costo de la Margarita. ! Este lugar está más allá de la comprensión.

Rude customer service. And the pricelists were confusing and felt really like false advertising. I would not recommend.

They do not pay their staff, their final wages and nothing is really cleaned. There are a lot better options in London

If you want brunch in Brixton, I can't think of anywhere better to go. Service is warm, friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable and the food is great. By rights this place should have queues coming out of the door, given how great it is, but when we went there last Sunday for brunch there were free tables and the atmosphere was relaxed. Get there before noon to avoid the "Sunday lunch" crowd.

We popped in here for lunch, as we knew that the restaurants in the nearby Brixton Market would be very crowded. The menu was simple but adequate, and we were not disappointed by the food which was tasty and freshly prepared. The house wine was fruity and appropriately chilled. The staff were friendly and helpful, albeit rather very eager to remove the dishes before we had finished eating. The downside was the temperature of the venue. It was a cold day outside, and the same inside. There were gaps between the windows which let in a cool breeze and the central heating was inadequate to deal with this. All of the customers ate with their coats left on. We sat in the centre of the building, as far as possible from the door and windows, as this was the warmest. Perhaps the owners could install insulation or turn up the heating.

Stumbled across this little gem of a bar on our way to see Rag and Bone Man at the o2 Academy in Brixton in Saturday. We wanted a quick drink and something to nibble before we queued! Gorgeous little bar with amazing food. Can highly recommend the squid and the cheesy chips!! Fab selection of wines beers and spirits and the staff were really friendly and helpful, would defo head here again!

Had drinks one night and a burger another night. Very relaxed, also ideal for Sunday brunch and sitting outside when warm. Also good for a quick drinks for the locals. Food is ok being a bar

Como empiezan a este lugar así que pensé que para darle una revisión.Relativamente tranquilo, muy agradable y cómodo. Una visita aquí será una gran experiencia. Las bebidas tienen un precio razonable y aperitivos y comida es excelente - en particular para recomendar cacahuetes (snack) y patatas fritas para comer caliente, halloumi magnífico! ! ! ! ! ! !No está lejos del metro brixton así la única razón por no pagar una visita es si tienes niños gritando o son s ruidoso, grosero persona usted mismo.

Se sentó fuera para el almuerzo. El servicio fue inicialmente bien, pero después de esperar más de una hora para 2 pollo ensaladas, preguntamos donde estaba nuestra comida. La respuesta fue una de saltos, hacer lenta y confusión general. En ningún momento ofrecer a cualquiera en cualquier explicación o disculpa (hasta que pedí uno) y así nos fuimos, no haber comido con el personal con retintín a gritos que tenga un buen día. Entiendo que se cometen errores, pero fue mal manejados y el personal es muy maleducado. No lo recomendaría.

Vimos este lugar mientras caminábamos buscando un poco de resaca desayuno/almuerzo. El personal era amable y servicial con nuestras bebidas y comida viene bien y rápidamente (como se esperaba, ya que fueron los primeros clientes). El desayuno era sabroso, bien servida y no excesivamente caro, exactamente lo que necesitaba.

A group of us were sitting outside and had bought 3 bottles of prosecco over a period of time. A person coming from the nearby POP complex left an empty bottle of beer on our table while passing. A waiter from SW9 then accused us of bringing our own beverages in and using their terrace. We protested and actually showed our receipts but the bad attitude and his continued insistence that we were abusing the terrace was bang out of order.

Our party was rudely accused of bringing our own drinks to this bar by one of the staff, despite us having bought bottles of Prosecco at the bar. We complained to the manager who was equally rude and dismissive. In addition to this, the bathrooms...

Staff quite rude, manager unhelpful, menu overpriced. Would not come back here again! The council should act and shut this place down.

Buzzy, pleasant little bar with friendly barmen - so why the low rating? Dodgy practices, that's why. We were surprised that the bill for a pint, a G&T and a glass of soda water came to over £16 and queried it. Turns out that they had automatically poured a double without asking if that's what we wanted. This is not only dishonest, it's dangerous; customers should know how much they're drinking.

Cute! Great cocktails, friendly staff, off main road near Bowie memorial, hidden gem, food looks good but didn't eat, nice outside area at front might be worth re visiting come warmer weather if not before, opposite tube station so really good location.

Only a five minute walk from where I live, SW9 is a buzzing, busy restaurant/bar with a good menu and great burgers and steaks, it gets very busy when the Academy has gigs on. It has a good atmosphere and great outdoor seating

It's hard to find a decent bar for a drink in Brixton but SW9 wins every time! Excellent service, cocktails and always has a good, friendly crowd.

Wo betide you if you don't like the food ... out with my family, 3 of us ordered steaks, asked for rare, they all came very well done, burnt in fact. We sent them back and asked for proper rare. One was ok, one not good but eaten anyway as we were very hungry by then, the third too well done to eat, which was mentioned when the plates were collected. What was astounding was that the bill had no compensation on it for this, still charged for all 3 steaks. When we queried this we were told to 'sod off', then accused of trying it on ... interesting response! Still had a lovely evening with my family ... but that was because of the company not the service.

One of the last few independent bars with good jazz music and relaxing.Good coffee, nice atmosphere and friendly service. Good menu and not very pricy.

Trovato questo posto per pura fatalità, ci siamo seduti e subito si è presentata la cameriera, Patrizia spagnola di Alicante, di una gentilezza e sorriso che solo i mediterranei hanno; ci ha aiutato in maniera unica nella scelta dei veloci piatti che volevamo consumare. Pur nella semplicità di quello ordinato ho trovato la confezione dei due piatti ordinati degna di una menzione a dimostrazione che anche se si mangia cose veloci non sono certo meno apprezzabili. Pure da sottolineare che la cameriera Patrizia si è prodigata nella traduzione come raramente ho trovato a Londra e se andate li chiedete di lei e non ve ne pentirete, buone pure le due birre Artios ordinate che complessivamente, cosa rara a Londra, il prezzo complessivo di tutto è stato di Poud 15,50. Consigliatissimo

For what it is and how much you pay, SW9 is a pretty decent bar/restaurant just off the main road in Brixton. Their brunch is pretty standard, but perfect for a hungover Saturday morning. I wouldn't necessarily travel from far to eat here, but for locals it's a friendly, no-frills palce for a quick drink or bite.

Went in for a meal and told to take a seat and will be with you in a minute. This went to ten, then fifteen, I then ask someone to come over, another ten minutes. It was not busy, only 8 people in and four people about the bar etc and plenty of seats avaliable.So walk out passed the waiter standing at the door, when asked why am I leaving I said " my stomach thinks my throat has been cut waiting for you to come and take my order when i asked a number of times"

Always like eating here and the food is reliably good. Conveniently placed as well and nice to eat outside in the summer.

Visited with family when in the area. Staff were happy to advise of other bars to visit that would be suitable for our mixed age group to visit. Service was very good but we did think the loud music was a little too much for the time of evening, then the music became louder.

OMG, this is my first time at the SW9 Bar and what a disappointment. I felt like rejecting the portion of calamari straight away but felt sorry for the waitresses. If they don't improve they will have to close down. My wife asked for a handcut chips which is pre cooked before frying. I know it because I'm a head chef in London for 10 years and would feel ashamed to serve such disgusting food. What an awful experience. The ambient has lounge music on but so loud they disturbs any conversation and any possible thoughts you might have. Will never come back and you, please don't come. Oh, another thing, the salt doesn't have a lid to allow us to pour it, you take the lid completely out and can even put your dirt fingers in it. What a Health and Safety hazard. Disgusting

This place is alright for a drink but terrible for brunch, spaced out waiter couldn't get our very simple order right, after 3 attempts finally got a very average meal. Wouldn't go there again

Contrary to the previous review, my plates here are always warm. The food is consistently good. We usually come here for the excellent roast dinners with free vegetables and amazing Yorkshire puds! The new burgers with Chipotle are a real treat to be tried as are the good reasonably priced steaks. Bar staff are friendly and have improved greatly lately. Hope this lasts!

This place is very popular with the young trendy Brixtoneers, the food here is good, the prices are reasonable, the service is friendly even where the absence of process makes it inconsistent, but this incondistency seems typical of the place. Arrived at 10:20 on Sunday morning having checked the website, which stated it opened at 10, to be told the kitchen wasn't open until 10:45. For breakfast!!!!When the food arrived, as ever here, it was on cold plates, so all went cold almost immediately (had the same issue here with Sunday lunch recently) even the coffee and tea were lukewarm. It's a shame, this issue spoils every hot meal here and is so easy to fix. But they clearly don't want to fix it.

Bought a black coffee today - I've tasted better Nescafe. It was lukewarm and weak.When I complained I was told, I should have ordered a double shot. Pathetic! A black American should have some kick. SW9, you've blown it

Really nice atmosphere at night with candles and quiet music. Offers lunch and dinner although only went for drinks.Seems like a nice spot for Sunday brunch

Went here for drinks pre-Brixton Academy. Nice and chilled/tables/chairs/candles vibe with cocktails and bar snacks as well as beers and wines. Staff were friendly. Prices were good.

Went here for a drink, or so we were thinking. Wasn't allowed to order at the (empty) bar. Sat down and waited for 10 minutes, nothing. Got up and asked the waiter when I'd get served, he said he'd be right with me. Another 15 minutes, nothing, wasn't even busy, we walked out... absolute joke of a bar. Avoid like the plague.

Having had a big lunch in the Market my friend brought me to this place to chill out. Food is served (full meals and snacks) plus cakes during the day. There is a long list of cocktails and a variety of hot drinks. Prices are similar to those practiced in Soho. We had fresh mint tea and sat back to enjoy the background music and do some people watching. Clientele at this time of the day is very gentrified though. Service was friendly and efficient. I should return to try the food and alcoholic drinks next time. Highly recommended!

I just love the atmosphere here, the friendly staff and the buzz. A favourite to go after work to meet friends and even business contacts. And my dog is welcome too!

I have been to SW9 Bar before and enjoyed the food and drinks. However, I was going to Brixton with a friend and I remembered she wanted to try it out. How could I refuse?Unfortunately, due to recent food intolerances, I was only going to have drinks, but one of the members of staff insisted the chef would provide something for me! How sweet! I was very impressed! Anyway, I looked on the menu and liked the look of the Sea Bass with mash and vegetables, and guess what? It was presented to me 10 minutes later as grilled Sea Bass (no oil) with a nice selection of mixed vegetables instead of mash (that I couldn't eat as it contained butter). Also, I wasn't expecting a whole Sea Bass, so that was bonus!This is a great example of real customer service.Three cheers for the young guy who served me!

We dropped by for a Sunday brunch, like everyone else in there, after a late Saturday night. Good selection of breakfast menus - took some omelettes, scrambled eggs and eggs Benedict, nothing special, but tasty. Had some mediocre coffee and good tea with those. Service was kind and helpful, though visibly unexperienced.On the bad side, the place seems to have no climate control whatsoever, so it was quite cold while we went there in February and I imagine it'll quickly get hot in summer.

Whilst visiting Brixton to see a concert at the O2 we stoped here for a few beers. The place is tucked away done a side street away from the traffic. Service was friendly and efficient. We sat outside under the canopy since the evening was warm. Lovely atmosphere.

I tried emailing the bar but it bounced back so I will paste it here xHi there,Just a quick comment about my first time visit to your bar last night.One member of staff was extremely welcoming and attentive, I'm not sure of his name but he had a bald head and wore glasses I think. He was lovely.Another member of staff was unenthusiastic and unhelpful. He seemed not in the mood to be working and didn't have any patience. I wanted to order a sweet white wine, he ended up recommending me a sweet red wine, he said it looks like a white and tastes very nice... It was a pound more than I wanted to spend but I agreed. Also he automatically bought me out a large when I hadn't specificied that's what I wanted.I tasted my wine and it was not sweet at all. My friend next to me ordered a rose and we compared and both drinks were exactly the same yet mine was over £6 and hers only 4...I tried to explain this to the waiter and not only did he seem disinterested but he offered no explanation and no help. I'm spending my money in your establishment and I expect to receive what I paid for. At one point he simply stared at me and said what do you want me to do?I was simply asking if he was sure that I had been served the wine that I had paid for.I was not saying anything was his fault although he seemed to take it that way.As an experienced drinker of wine and a partner who was a wine taster I know that I had been served a lesser quality rose. I simply had to pay as he was offering me no other alternative or help in any form.

I really hate giving bad reviews and try to find the positives. The chap who served us for lunch was very pleasant and friendly - a positive! The chicken currry and rice we ordered was undoubtably a microwave meal. Awful. An adjacent table ordered fish and chips and it looked good......another positive. Pop in here to meet a friend for a drink but don't risk the food. Many better places in Brixton.

Horrible, unfriendly and unwelcoming manager. How he got the job is beyond me unless he owns the place but that makes it worse! Most comments on here are about the staff and how bad they are and that's no surprise. If you want a nice relaxing drink or meal then don't go here. If you want to be made to feel in the way by the precious management then this is the place for you! Horrendous place STAY WELL CLEAR!

Ok so I'm early meeting my girlfriend. (yes I'm gay but don't have a bad attitude ! It's ok to be gay you know !! ) she's running late, I'm on my own at the bar standing up having a drink waiting. It's been a long day( I run a catering company) I saw a free table so I sat at it. There was this man catching my eye , just starring at me , I'm on my own in a bar come on! So then this vile of a man came over and said are you eating? I'm thinking maybe when my girl gets here? So I said I don't know at the mo. So he abruptly said you carnt just sit there ! I'm having a drink you rude vile man! The waitress was even embarrassed, and said sorry Your welcome to drink. Well I've never been somewhere so soul less , and made to feel like I've done something wrong? Unbelievable !!! Well your not welcome in Brighton I can tell you! Good luck with your business and your attitude !! Hidious in everyway !!!

O bar é muito bem frequentado por gente bonita e educadas, apesar de ser um bar dá para ir com familiares se divertir, muito show o lugar, recomendo.

We found this little gem tucked away up a side street across from the Brixton tube station. Good choice of beers, great food and service was excellent. Highly recommend for any Academy patrons. Can imagine that it would be nice in summer.

I live around the corner and have given this place more than one try but it's always the same. The coffee makes instant coffee look award winning in comparison, I would describe it as piping hot water that has had one coffee bean sitting in it overnight. Awful. Their hot food is served luke warm or cold, the staff are not very friendly and it makes me wonder how people still go there.

My friend and I arrived at 11.30am and ordered breakfast. We were meeting more friends at 12.30pm. We paid for our breakfast before our 11 other friends arrived. They all ordered food and drink. While we were waiting for our 11 friends we ordered a bucks fizz each this was a small to average sized drink. Our friends also had bucks fizz with their meal. When our friends had finished and paid. I went to the till to pay for 2 bucks fizz drinks. The waiter gave me a bill for £20.10 when I questioned this and told him I had already paid for my food he said this was the correct bill for 2 bucks fizz drinks I questioned this again with the manager he told me this was the price on the menu and I would have to pay. He couldn't find the price on the menu. I reluctantly paid but felt robbed. The manager was intransigent and wasn't helpful and didn't show any flexibility. I won't ever go there again.
