We had a lovely dining experience here. The owner came over and talked to us making us feel very welcome, after which we were served delicious fresh and flavourful food from the vegan menu, which is great to see options for. My girlfriend is Vietnamese and said it was very close to the original even being a vegan version of it. Nicely decorated and calm music made for a nice atmosphere. Great service from the owner and well priced with nice presentation. We would happily return.

Went to Suum on a friday night for a birthday celebration and we cannot fault this place!!! The food and staff were absolutely incredible and no big waiting time for food even though we were a group of 7. I'm definitely coming back with my son as he has been wanting to go for quite some time. Lovely atmosphere, great location and great food. Suum is a great place in Marlow to start your night with friends, without a doubt!

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES!!! I ordered food off the menu that was labelled as gluten free and nut free, and triple checked with staff that my order was safe for me with severe allergies. However I was repeatedly served dishes that clearly were covered in nuts, and as my family’s food was being served was then told I couldn’t have what I ordered as it had gluten in. I was patient and repeatedly reiterated how important this was to get right and they need to change their menu, but they did not grasp how their mistakes could have caused life threatening allergic reaction. The food my family had they all said was delicious so I’m sure it would be a nice restaurant if you don’t have a restricted diet.

What a gorgeous, traditional Vietnamese restaurant! I came here with my parents yesterday for lunch and the food was absolutely delicious. We shared three starters (crispy pancakes, chilli prawns and prawn spring rolls) and the flavours were fresh and vibrant. Mum and I both had the lemongrass chilli Pho and Dad had the chicken curry, all of which were exceptional. The staff are extremely friendly and the service was excellent. We will DEFINITELY be back! Thank you, Suum!

I recommend the lychee juice, chicken pho, green tea, coffee and platter for two starter. Every year my daughter and son want to come here for their birthday and they love it every time!!!!!!!!!!!!🥰

Takeaway, food excellent but portions small. Spent £57 for two and could have done with more rice at least as not enough. I understand they have overheads, but you could actually fill the rice containers for a few penny's. Excellent online menu, but the slot booked for 1730 food not ready and told to wait 10 minutes so I popped next door to buy cream buns. We will return as we liked the food.

We ate one of the best Pho's here! Really highly recommended. Also very friendly and very loving towards children, although luckily ours slept. We'll be back! Thank you!

I stayed two nights in Marlow and both nights I ate here the food was so delicious 😋 on the first night I had a prawn salad and salt and chilli prawns and I even told them on the first night I would probably be back the next day because the food was so fabulous. Second night I had the scallops and the hanoi grilled pork and I actually could not believe the flavours and am not exaggerating when I say it's probably one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. I was flabbergasted by that meal lol. The broth that comes with it is not to be underrated it brings the dish to its glory. Will definitely be back with Hubby one day

We booked a table but there was no need, I expected it to be busy for Sunday lunch…. There were only 4 tables filled… However, we had the prawn summer roll starter x 2 which came with 8 pieces, which was enough but we did run out of the yummy peanut sauce. The Bún Húê was declared good and served with salad. The beef green curry was tasty. The Passion Fruit Chicken seemed a little small, even for a poussin and the Peppercorn Duck was tasty but also quite small. There were only two tiny pieces of carrot which was a shame… we tried both the jasmine and coconut rice… Overall the prices are quite high for the size of the dishes, we were still quite hungry. Fortunately we had birthday cake to eat with family when we returned home… We all enjoyed the food but the service was extremely slow and inattentive. No one came to clear our starter plates before the mains arrived and the mains were not cleared until after we eventually got the bill, which took some time. As they were not at all busy there was no excuse, I wonder how they manage if it gets busy?

Been to Suum several times now. The experience is always fantastic. Went on a Tuesday night this week with friends and it was buzzing which was nice to see. Great authentic Vietnamese restaurant. The food is always amazing. I had the Tumeric fish, it was outstanding. My wife is a veggie and she had ample choice and loved her food too. Finally, best Spring rolls you will ever taste! I chose Suum Kitchen to celebrate my husbands birthday with our daughters. The service was fantastic, the staff were friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much of a problem, particularly with one daughter’s dietary requirements. The food was amazing, fresh and beautifully presented. I look forward to returning as there are so many delicious dishes on the menu that I want to try. I Highly recommend.

A great restaurant in Marlow. Wonderful food, particularly the duck, perfectly cooked. On every course the different flavours blended so well together. Staff were lovely & attentive, taking time to explain & recommend different dishes. Will definitely return.

The pho I went for and a pint of rebellion, I was feeling cheeky. As soon as I walked in fresh lemon grass welcomingly greeted my nostrils. I knew then I had made a good decision. The pho arrives. I’m excited, and so I should be. I take my first mouthful. Wow ! It’s delicious. The broth was deep with flavour and obviously very good for me. The noodles cooked to perfection and the tofu fried beautifully. 10/10 would recommend

Finally got to eat here after spending last few years having my hair cut opposite enjoying the smells from the kitchen and watching everyone enjoy lunch! We went for dinner to celebrate a birthday and the food was excellent. My only complaint was the scallops starter was tiny, I was expecting queen scallops not 3 tiny ones so I wouldn't order that again. However the duck main was delicious as was everything else our table ordered. The wine was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff very attentive and helpful. Highly recommend

Truly wonderful lunch here with my daughter yesterday. We sat outside and were well attended by a very friendly waitress. The food gets better and better each time I go to Suum. Incredibly fresh, healthy and authentic Vietnamese food. Do try it!

My husband and I had a great anniversary meal. As I am gluten and soy intolerant it’s often difficult to have any Asian food and the team at Suum were super accommodating. The scallops, gf rice pancakes and phos (satay with beef and veggie) were divine! We can’t wait to come back soon.

Probably my favourite place to eat in Marlow. Not the cheapest, but certainly one of the best.

I stayed in Marlow 2 nights for work. I love Vietnamese food and Suum had great reviews so it was my first stop. I enjoyed the food and service so much that I went back on the 2nd night and even managed to squeeze in lunch on my last day before leaving Marlow. The restaurant is a family affair and it is evident not just by the quality of the food but by the welcome of the whole team there. Over my stay, I've had the pleasure of trying lots of the smaller dishes: the lemongrass sauteed scallops (the sauce was delightful and I went for them again the next night), the chilli king prawns (perfectly cooked), the summer rolls (tasty and fresh), the spring rolls (well filled and properly crispy), char-grilled betel leaves (one of my favourites!) and the prawns lotus salad (so flavourful and refreshing - again, one of my favourites!). Main wise, I've tried one of the broth - Bún Húê (lemongrass Húê noodles) - and the Bún Châ Hà Nô (Hanoi style char-grilled pork). Both were very flavourful and most enjoyable if a little sweet for my taste (would probably not be a problem for anyone else). I can't wait to have a chance to go back to Marlow so I can keep working my way through their menu!

Had dinner here last night with my partner. A delicious meal. Everything tasted freshly cooked, beautiful king prawns starter and a tasty tender chicken curry. Saucing was so good. Thank you, we’ll be back in a few weeks

I thought it might be better than what I received. Only one other table was occupied, which might have been a clue. Shame as I had heard good things about this place.

Did go here with the girls, we had a 43 minute waiting to get the first main, a little too much, but the food was very good, a little expensive thought. But the town is one of these small and posh little villages, where people are all full of dosh. It's over an hour drive from aylesbury. I would not drive here all the way again. Better and cheaper places in London

Don’t think we’ll go back again. It looks like a pretty place with lovely decoration. But the food and service disappointed us. a) The prawn cracker for us was barely half amount of the other tables. b) One of our starter got totally forgotten and delayed for at least half an hour. c) All our main course didn’t come at the same/similar time. d) All our main taste yummy but unfortunately most of them were not hot enough, only warmish. e) The chicken in the main was definitely the smallest chicken we’ve ever seen, which was a big shock tbh. Pretty much the same size as the roast pigeon that you can find from a Hong Kong restaurant. Overall it was not a very pleasant experience.

Good food and friendly service.

We dined here on our wedding anniversary, the cocktails tasted nice but neither of us could taste any alcohol, very disappointing. Having travelled to Vietnam we found the food rather bland, it was good rather than excellent, we glad we tried Suum but we won’t be returning.

EDIT: Knocking 2 stars off for the removal of stir fried dishes after the change in management. How can you offer Viet food without stir frying? Much as I love pho, Viet cuisine is not 100% pho. We love the pho here. All the different kinds of pho here are fantastic. I guess that comes down to the tasty soup and high-quality noodles. One major annoyance is the 15% service automatically added to the bill. To be fair, the service is usually good... BUT not always. Also good to see they regained 4 of the 5 stars for food hygiene they lost last year.

Came here for a family birthday meal, the food came promptly. The restaurant is pretty and the service is good. Food was fantastic and great for vegetarians! All in all very enjoyable. One minor point, we found the cost to eat here a tad on the expensive side, however, we will be back for sure! Well done.

Food is good, service not so good. The waitress forgot to order our child’s food but lied and said the kitchen was busy hence why it took longer than expected. We waited about 20 minutes from initial complaint to receiving the food. The manager wasn’t really that concerned with our issue, we had to push for them to remove the food but all they did was remove the service. Really disappointed, customer service is clearly not that important to them

Wow! New chef Nguyen has really excelled. We had a meal here with friends and all four dishes and starters were of the highest quality. Having just returned from Vietnam, we wanted to relive some of the food memories and this did not disappoint. And even better, most of the food is naturally gluten free. Service was excellent and overall is was a great night!

Tried this place for the first time after a recommendation. Absolutely excellent food and very speedy takeaway. My food was ready 10 minutes after placing the order and waiting nicely packaged when I arrived All of the dishes were very good. I plan to visit again and actually eat in.

I love Suum. I've already been twice this year, both times with girl friends and on both occasions there was a lovely bustling atmosphere, excellent service from start to finish, and everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed their food. The prices are very reasonable too, for such authentic and delicious Vietnamese food. Their summer roll starters are beautifully wrapped, super fresh and actually taste healthy; and their aubergine & tofu pot is my favourite - just delicious. Great phos too. Can't wait to go again :)

It was much much better 9 months ago. Why has it changed? Food: side veg undercooked, hardly any sauce with main. Service: smiling but didn't know difference between seafood and fish, didn't know if seafood dishes available. Poor seating policy: in almost empty restaurant, single diners reading placed next to table of 8. Worst: menu in very small grey type, fancy design but barely legible. Price: in past was £30 for good meal, now £50 for mediocre one. Advice: tear up pretentious-looking menu and revert to simple good cooking, with knowledgeable service.

What a wonderful evening. Great staff, super service with amazing food. Excellent choice of drinks and fab menu. Catered for a party of 13 and everything went perfectly. Every dish was superb. So very tasty and the staff were just so helpful. Thanks for such a lovely evening. We will certainly be back.

Fantastic Vietnamese- one of the best Hanoi-style phos that I’ve eaten in the UK. Would recommend to anyone and will certainly be back next time I’m in Marlow.

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere. Excellent vegetarian and vegan options. I will be recommending to friends, and will visit again if I find myself back in Marlow. The only negative was an outrageously rude and unreasonable customer complaining loudly as we dined. Staff commendably dealt with her in a polite and professional manner. Their management of such a cantankerous customer was truly impressive. I’m not sure if I would have responded with as much grace.

We had been going to the Suum since it was open in 2018 but this time the service was terrible the waitress forgot our staters..and we have to wait for our drinks for more then 30min and our cocktails was very watery.then we ask the waitress is your staff changed or something she said we have new lady manager we called her to have a chart she don’t have clue for managing the restaurant plus she said sheis been in Uk only for 3months and she said sheis not happy to manage the restaurant but the boss forced her to be the manger our family was shocked after hearing this and we fell sorry for Suum my request for boss please keep someone to manage the restaurants who have idea about things off restaurant otherwise Suum won’t last anymore please do something because my family likes your food I hope my review will change the management and keep smart people

we are very disappointed. the menu has changed and options are very reduced. there is very little vegetarian or fish options. the portion sizes where small. food was very expensive in comparison to taste and size. the fish was dry and tasteless. the pork was covered in oil and was chewy. what a shame - this used to be one of our favourites before the changes. drinks also very expensive - 2 mocktails (lychee juice in small glass) was a little over £13!

The food here is delicious, as we came for a weekday meal. The beef pho and Vietnamese spring rolls are definitely the "must trys" at this restaurant. However, there is only one bit of criticism - the price. I strongly believe that such a niche demand of Vietnamese food in Marlow shouldn't have to cost this much. Portion sizes were also not too generous for the cost of the dishes so therefore will not really be returning. The service was alright - could be better with the waiter being a little more attentive.

Going by the reviews from others we must have hit this restaurant on a real off day. The special beef dish was all gristle (3 pieces) and frankly inedible. This meal was memorable for all the wrong reasons as it ranked only slightly higher than 'lunch' a cafe in High Wycombe I tried some 2.5 years earlier which is still the worst in my adult lifetime. We ate very little, and then went to subway for a sandwich.

Our friends came with us on our recommendation. What a disaster! The menu had completely changed and none of our previous favourites were listed. I was really embarrassed when our friends' scallops arrived. Two very small, not much bigger than queens. We shared with them some of our own starters which were OK but not as good as previous visits. The main courses were served on cold plates- a cardinal sin in any restaurant. Not helped by serving cold rice which was an extra! Why the management tried to changed this previously authentic restaurant into something it can never be is beyond comprehension. The price rises, even taking into inflation, were way out of line. Needless to say we won't be returning to our previously favourite Marlow restaurant.

Alas this used to be a great restaurant, our go-to place in Marlow. The changes in the menu took out most of the vegan and vegetarian options, so there almost nothing we could order the last time we went (and had to walk out). The cut and paste response of “authentic cuisine” etc. clearly shows that the management has moved on and not really interested in what the customers care about.

It is a nice place in the area where we csn have a Pho. The soup is tasty but average, so as the starters which were a very recommendable. Unfortunately, we could not have a starter we had a couple of months before. But Pho is the secure attraction to us, especially as there is no other Vietnamese restaurant nearby.

This was my first visit, and I will definitely be returning: our shared starter of Spring Roll Legend was fabulous: wonderfully crisp, and absolutely packed with flavour - wish we’d not shared! My partner chose Shaking Beef, the meat extremely tender, the dish very tasty, but my Scallops Curry was the winner, a spicy, creamy, flavour-packed sauce with crunchy vegetables and soft scallops, it was the tastiest such dish I’ve found in years - a new favourite.

Food great but service very poor. First time visit as a couple to meet a friend and we had chosen this venue as the ambience always looks so good in passing. First minor failing, on arrival we were offered a table for 2 in the window, great but there are three of us so this was the first indication of not knowing what they were doing. Taking drinks orders took ages and then getting drinks took ages. Food took ages and although we had all food at the same time other tables did not. The food was however really good so no fault there. The bad service was just one person but all of them would just stand staring leaving people with dirty glasses, empty glasses, no drinks, empty plates etc it was all just poor. We were then charged the over the norm 12.5% service with no option to remove. Consumers should make a stand against those restaurants that automatically add service as they are not earning it and therefore don't bother making the effort.

It makes no business sense to close lunch time, stop takeaways, then put all the expense on the evening diners. 1 starter 2 mains (long wait between the 2 dishes) Bottle of water (they dont do jugs of tap) 2 cokes £70!! The young waitress needs some training given the service charge, although staff were friendly. Sadly, I dont think Ill be going back any time soon.

Such a delicious meal, and fab service. Soft shell crab, pork belly and summer rolls were all soooo good. They home make all their dipping sauces too, I wanted to take a tub of each one home! And a sweet and slightly savoury mung bean desert, like a set riced pudding. Mmmmmmm! A solid 10/10 experience.
