Suttons Coffee Shop in Weymouth and Portland

An absolutely lovely coffee shop a hidden gem and some lovely cake! The egg custard I just had to have another slice and even gluten free cake. Tea was tasty and a really nice coffee. Staff are attentive and knowledgeable and a good laugh. Definitely coming back!

Went for a lovely family lunch yesterday. The sausages were absolutely awful. Dry and reheated and certainly not freshly cooked. Sorry will not be returning. Xxx

You are sure of a warm and friendly welcome. We only had breakfasts here (3 times) The food was freshly cooked, tasty and reasonably priced. The cakes looked very good but we ran out of time to try them. We will definitely return to Suttons the next time we visit Weymouth.

So thankful these types of places still exist! Traditional cafe searching a wide range of foods - all freshly made. Stumbled upon this little treasure by chance, but would definitely return. Homely atmosphere and very comfortable. Came in with two kids - thoughtfully used cold plates for them so thur food cooked quicker and didn’t burn themselves. Just all round great experience.

Called in for a late breakfast as we were both really hungry. The cafe is cheerfully decorated with past photos of their business over the years. Beautifully clean and nice loos. Obviously popular with local people who were meeting up for coffee and chats. We both ordered the big breakfast and a coffee. Good quality coffee, friendly service, and the most amazing breakfast ever. Very reasonably priced for such a large plateful of excellently cooked food. A very nice man who might have been the manager took the time to have a friendly chat with us before we left to explore the shops. You now have two new regulars customers. 😁

Was in Weymouth for a short xmas break when I stumbled upon this family run cafe for a homemade dessert. Great service with a smile, and the place has a really homely feel about it. I noticed the place seemed to be popular with the locals too, which is always a good sign. I came back the next two days running. Food is very reasonbly priced, and the full english breakfast was great. Highly reccomended.

This cafe is very nice - good service and really nice food. Our boys loved the kids options and there were plenty of great options for everyone.

Really great black coffee for a good price... and I saw nice cappuccinos and lattes on other tables. The toasted bacon sandwich was great too. Nice chat with the lady there. I would definitely go back.. my kinda of place..... comforting, good value and tasty.

Just visiting Weymouth for the day and stumbled across this great little coffee shop. Would highly recommend the home baked steak and kidney pie, potatoes and vegetables. The pie was full to the brim of beautifully tender steak, held together by a thin crust pastry. After polishing off the main course, it was time for a desert, I settled on the apple and rhubarb crumble with custard and was not disappointed. All the food was fresh, home baked and tasted lovely. The staff were friendly and efficient. Will definitely visit again next time I’m in Weymouth.

What a cracking place this is ,brilliant breakfast,fantastic staff and cakes to die for if you ever find yourself in Weymouth try this place the food is fantastic

Wasn’t sure to stop here or go further into town but took a risk and sat down here. What cemented it for me was the warm and friendly response from the lady serving at the counter. All we wanted were a couple of breakfast baps and a couple of drinks and when they came they were well cooked and tasty. The bacon was good quality, not all fat and no meat which many places serve. A traditional cafe est in 1878 and it’s obvious why it’s still trading and succeeding. 10/10

Wow recently we have sampled the breakfast (delicious) the home made steak and kidney pie ( absolutely wonderful) apple pie and custard and bakewell ( all home made and amazing ).... the food is amazing the staff helpful cheerful and professional and nothing is too much trouble ... I wish I could give them 15/10 We will be returning thank you

Ordered a Super Breakfast and was very pleased with what arrived in front of me: 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 2 eggs, tomatoes, baked beans, mushrooms and toast. This was obviously all freshly cooked, and arrived quickly after ordering. This provided me with an excellent meal, and is good value for money. My first time in Suttons and certainly not the last. Thank you for your excellent service.

Lovely friendly cafe have been visiting it for years brilliant food and a lovely cuppa very happy to recommend suttons to everyone if you are in Weymouth and you don't pop in you are missing out 🍰☕🥧🥤

The staff are realt pleasant and helpful and the food was OK (we had Ham and cheese salad with a jacket potato) only draw back(a small complaint) because they obviously use real tea (not tea bags) and they don't use a strainer you get to the end off your drink you'll end up with a mouthful of tea leaves apart from that it was OK we still had 2 cups off tea

Back in beautiful Weymouth and back to my favourite coffee shop anywhere, and what a great welcome as always, such a nice atmosphere. Coffee and tea and homemade cake was as usual delicious and we went in every lunch time, personally for us it wouldn't be the same going to our favourite seaside resort and not visiting Suttons, we love it ❤️❤️xx So all I have to say is THANK YOU Suttons again for all your efforts to keep us fed and happy, see you next year

This in my opinion is the best coffee shop in Weymouth. The food is all handmade and is delicious. It's not expensive like other places and is good value for money. There's a children's menu too. The staff are polite and friendly. Would highly recommend

We have visited twice during our stay in Weymouth this week. Great food great staff and really good COVID precautions. It’s good to find a place that does not sell CHIPS. One minor mention l do feel the COVID venue check in to be scanned should not be on the door behind you when entering but in front of you at the sanitizer station. I heard two people say they could of used it instead of having to leave their names and telephone number.

We only popped in for tea and cake but both were lovely, tea was just how we like it and plenty of choice of lovely cakes. Menu looked good and some of the food we see coming out looked really nice and makes us want to revisit when we next go to Weymouth.Prices are good, and the COVID measures are excellent.Highly recommend

When you are walking by and you see Home made Steak & Kidney pie on the menu, you just have to go in. It's so hard to find it on menus these days and I just love it.We were not disappointed, short crust pastry pie with roast spuds, cabbage, swede, carrots and gravy. The Covid procedures here were the best we experienced on our recent holiday. The cafe was packed and seemed to be run very efficiently by the front of house lady. Although we had to wait a while for our order the food was tasty and good value for money. We could see that everyone was working flat out. But there was a nice homely atmosphere here, a varied menu and tasty cakes.

we visited suttons cafe several times in during our holiday as usual and despite the circumstances the owners and staff were all welcoming and friendly and attentive as always the food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them all the covid 19 rules were followed i would recommend if you go to Weymouth on holiday go to suttons cafe and when you are finished there you are a short walk from the lovely beach

Went to Weymouth yesterday, I am in a wheelchair, first time to go out for the day as very nervous as I have been Shielding. We always go to Sutton’s when we go to Weymouth. The Covid checks were fantastic, temperature, trace and sanitiser. Tables spotless, Food the best ever. Staff absolutely lovely couldn’t be more helpful, as someone who has worked for Health and Safety I would recommend them a hundred percent. Thank you Sutton’s, you certainly deserve your Golden Award. Food just lush. Hope to be back in a week or two.

Been coming to Weymouth for 40 plus years. Visited this cafe with my family for breakfast as my hotel wasn't providing breakfast at the time.The breakfast on the whole was just average. A couple of minutes after placing my order of 3 breakfasts i asked if i could swap the fried eggs on my breakfast for scrambled and was flatly refused the lady saying it was to late as the order was already being prepared. When eating out i do expect a little customer service it really shouldn't be a problem to scramble a couple of eggs to keep the customer happy.Still I ate what I could paid my bill and left the lady did apologise again but frankly that wasn't good enough. Suffice to say I will not be returning.....

Searched for local place to go for breakfast and Suttons came up. Unfortunately they didn't have pancakes on the menu so we headed out however when Wendy the lovely owner spoke with her helpful husband the chef, they whipped up exactly what my children had requested. Delicious traditional homemade pancakes. Very reasonably priced.They have been there for over 40 and I hope the locals keep such a wonderful business afloat.

We had a lovely lunch here. The staff were very friendly and although it was extremely busy were very efficient. Their COVID procedures were outstanding. The food was lovely and it is very clear that they take great pride in it.

As we say in the Midlands "the scran is delicious" we came here twice this week for our lunch and as usual Sutton never let's us down, the food and service even with all the social distancing and temperature checking was second to none as usual. I can only have decaff drinks because of a medication I take and I look especially forward to the decaff coffee here as its so good (next time I'm gonna ask if I can purchase some to take home) it's so good I love this cafe and I feel honoured to support them through these tricky times, keep up the good work and see you next year

We have ate here a few times whilst on holiday because the service is BRILLIANT and the food is lovely!!! The staff there are just lovely, really friendly and helpful. We ate out with kids and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for serving with logic!! The tray comes and is placed away from the kids, the children's food is put on cold plates not to burn their little fingers. Crusts cut off if they want off, just the little things that make a massive difference!! The breakfasts are lovely and their cake is amazing!! Sandwiches are on lovely soft bread!! Honestly if you are in town wanting either a sweet treat, hearty breakfast or a good lunch with lovely friendly, helpful staff this is the place to go!!

I've seen many good things about this cafe so I decided to give it a go. The social distancing and track and trace measures are brilliant. I had a mocha and a toasted sausage sandwich which was fantastic it also came with salad and coleslaw. My partner had a full english and a cup of tea and he was equally impressed. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.

Visited this cafe for breakfast yesterday with my daughter, hash browns soggy, toast soggy, fried eggs, the yolk was solid. As for the sausages, the least said the better. The bacon was OK.

This is a fantastic place for a quick stop or full breakfast or lunch. Everything home made, service friendly and efficient and prices are reasonable. Highly recommended and we will be back again. Thank you and well done!

Visited Suttons today for breakfast. What a delight!! Very on the ball with social distancing. Full English breakfast and veggie option was delicious. Home made cakes, pies and crumbles available. So our party left with many delicious looking cakes etc in take away dishes for later.... Good kids menu too. Would thoroughly recommend. We will be back next time in Weymouth.

Lovely little cafe. We stopped in for a cup of tea and it was ideal for that but the food and cake selection looked very inviting.The staff were all incredibly helpful and very committed to getting the process right for dealing with COVID-19 which was good to see. Would highly recommend a visit.

Amazing, wonderful kind, salt of the earth people. This is a traditional family run business. The food is piping hot and wholesome. No gimmicks just homemade, traditional meals, snacks and light lunches. The people really care about their customers, they had run out of child's pizza and went out of their way to fulfil a little boys favourite food desire. We all enjoyed the warm welcome and the delicious food. Highly recommended!

Whilst in Weymouth yesterday my wife and I decided to have a light lunch. We came across Suttons coffee shop! We waited outside until we were invited inside whereuponWe were asked by the friendly waitress for our contact details and then took bothOk temperatures before showing us to a table. The tables were very well spaced apart from each other in compliance with Vivid 19 regulations. The lunch menu wasQuite extensive. Our orders where taken from a very friendly lady and we both had hsm/ham/,cheese /pineapple toasties which came with a side salad garnish. BothOf us enjoyed our food and we were both impressed with the choice of the menu, the warmth of the welcome and the cleanliness of the premises. We would recommend you try it for yourselves.
