Sutton Arms in Islington

Visited the Sutton Arms twice whilst visiting family in Clerkenwell. What a great local pub with quality values. Staff are knowledgeable and the experienced owner, Mick, is a proper pub landlord of the old school: knows his clientelle well and is friendly and welcoming to first time visitors. Big selection of beers, all written on a blackboard, and 3 beautifully kept cask ales on handpull. I had Five Points Bitter, Five Points Pale, and JW Lees Bitter over my two visits. Proper pub: if I lived in the area, I'd be a regular.

Absolute gem of a place, I’ve worked in the area before but never realised it was here. Not only are they some of the most friendly staff I have literally ever met, the food was amazing and so surprised to find not one but two vegan mains on the menu. Will definitely be adding this to my top 3 in the area!!

DO NOT RECCOMMEND Avoid going to them to simply ask for advice as they will react in a hostile way showing no regard for the individual. They only seem to be interested in whether or not you will be consuming something. Mind you, I was not even on their premises but just outside and to the question "may I ask you something?" i was met with shouting, expressions of anger and frustration in my regards.

Terminé de trabajar hasta tarde una noche y entré a ver el fútbol. Después de comprar una pinta, el gerente me habló como si tuviera cinco años y me dijo que me quitara el chaleco de alta visibilidad, o no me servirían más. Acabo de terminar mi cerveza y me fui. Pub horrible y caro. .

Muy buena variedad de cervezas artesanales de todo el país, el hijo del propietario es el experto aquí, más que feliz de permitirle probar una pequeña muestra si no está seguro de alguna de las cervezas. Llegamos a las 5 de la tarde y ya estaba ocupado: hay un comedor arriba, así que pregunte si el lugar se ve lleno y quiere comer. Pequeño menú de 'pub grub' - tuve el Sutton Arms Burger y fue muy bueno - mate tenía jamón, huevos y patatas fritas y de nuevo esto estaba bien presentado y muy caliente. Recomendación especial para las patatas fritas: agradable y grueso y nada grasiento. El propietario fue muy amable y acogedor. Un buen boozer decente - recomendado

Great staff and selection of beer and wine. The staff are welcoming and friendly, especially Michaela, Laura and Ellen. The upstairs dining room is a hidden gem too.

Smashing little pub. I didn't eat here so cannot pass judgement. Either way though this is a proper pub in an area where its difficult to find such things. The barman is a friendly character with a good knowledge of the beers on offer. I have popped in for an afternoon pint a couple of times now and I very much recomend.

A busy corner pub with a great range of beers & sprits. Something for everyone behind the bar with 3 real ales, 5 craft taps, choice of 3 or 4 lagers plus Guinness & ciders. Plus, lots wines & a varied range of spirits. The ales & craft beers change daily & are always served in top condition. A varied lunchtime selection of food including great burgers, sausages & a top fish finger sandwich. Great friendly staff who are very knowledgeable about all the beers on cask & tap. On a Friday night it can be very noisy & busy, but the mixed clientele makes for a great friendly atmosphere. I visit quite regularly as I work in the area, however I wish it was my local at end of my street.

amazing place, amazing service, amazing atmosphere. All around the area, pubs like this are closing down to leave space for chains and such.....Shame, this is the perfect example of why pubs should be kept opened, community spirit, a place where I go every other day waiting for my wife to finish working!!!!

For me and my colleagues it's all about Mick the proprietor, he's friendly and does his best to remember your name and tipple of choice. There are no frills but there is a secret first floor toilet which is a godsend on a Friday when rammed. Decent chap, decent boozer.

A typical pub :-) good beers (really good selection and some unusual ones - Marshmallow Porter was very tasty!) friendly staff - the 'waiter' was a great character :-) Typical pub grub at a decent price. Worth a visit for a drink and chat if you are in the area.

Have been here a number of times for lunch meetings. Very good overall experience. The food taste great and is very reasonable.

I love a proper pub this is a nice establishment went here for drinks with fiends lovely staff always remembered your order. Friends had food its just pub food but good food not what your going to get at the Ivy remember this is a corner pub. going back next week

A pub - got exactly what I expected, rustic food & good beer served by an authentic londoner. Maybe in need of a refurbish - either back to querky pub style, or to a more contemporary look - now it's just stuck in the 80:s

Busy, loud with pavement full of Peroni drinkers. Listen to London gossip and what hitting the high street in the fashion world..... Great to visit!

Esta es una pequeña joya escondida entre caro pubs de moda en Farringdon. Muchas veces hemos llegado a conseguir un buen pinta aquí porque las colas y mala cerveza en el cordero sacrificado. Si quieres tomarte una cerveza a un precio razonable en un pub de bebedores de este es un buen lugar. Tampoco anuncian que tiene el fútbol en pero normalmente es tranquila y se puede conseguir un asiento. Este no es un gastro pub, así que no esperes milagros desde el menú, pero es muy razonable y el sutton burger es un ganador!

Se trata de un sonido lugareños London Pub, pero ser cauteloso de las mesas: han tenido tanto comida y cerveza derrama en ellos durante los años que tienen que pegajosa superficie ahora. La comida era tarta de calentados y comidas para comer con los dedos, lo cual no es agradable, pero cumplía un propósito en que bordea el estómago por una cerveza pequeña.

Almorzamos en este pub, el pastel de carne con cerveza con puré de patatas y verduras. Cuesta menos de £9 y estaba delicioso. Este pub no es conocido por su comida, pero que no hay ninguna razón por la que pase. Es un pequeño típico pub de Londres, que sólo abre durante la semana, no los fines de semana. La comida se sirve en el almuerzo. La empresa local hombres conocer y hacer negocios aquí durante la hora del almuerzo.El nuevo chef es ahora conseguir conocido y más personas son ahora comer aquí. Sencillo, con una buena relación calidad-precio y sabrosa comida

This is by far the worst service I've received in any establishment. Not only did the bar maid / waitress have an attitude but we were told that we couldn't move tables to sit (we were a big-ish group) it felt like she'd experience physical pain just by talking to you and that we ruined her day because we tried ordering food and drink. My awful coffee was thrown on the table, asking for ketchup was met with rolled eye. Just plain rude really. The food was average, not worth putting you through this horrible service. There are so many really good bars / pubs / gastro pubs / restaurants in the area you do not need to put yourself through this.
