Sutterton Fish and Chip Shop in Boston

On the night we had food from here the queue was out of the door. This shop has a cafe in the back so service can be a bit slower than usual. They were also managing phoned-in orders and 3 staff absences. CASH ONLY. Cashier took 4 or 5 orders then food was cooked to order. Ours was good not greasy like previous reviewers. Cod £4.95 large chips £2.95 so no complaints about pricing. Would use again.

A long queue outside which I thought was a good sign but how wrong could I be. Cod and chips so greasy that they stuck to the paper and half went straight in the bin. Those which could be peeled off were greasy and average. The fish batter was thin and soft. The fish itself was tasteless. Very disappointing.

On holiday in the area and although they were very busy we felt the sheer quantity of the chips didn't make up for the dry overcooked Fish. Certainly doing great business so perhaps we picked a bad day.. Certainly very affordable.

Travelled for fish and chips only to find theyvwere closed,web site said open from 4.00pm till 7.00pm on tues 8th Dec. 2020, Tried ringing to check before travelling but no answer! this is not the first time this has happened.very annoying as we like their fish and chips, so sorry will not be going anymore, lost our business

Called in on our last night of our mini break in Sutterton, I had cod, husband had haddock, they were delicious, too many chips, but because they were cooked well, I ate most of them. For being strangers calling in for supper, we got a lovely reception and freshly prepared supper. Would highly recommend them.

Called in today as I was in the area. Resterant nice clean and spotless. Food cooked to perfection, staff very welcoming and over all I would visit again if in the area.

New fryers and new owners continuing the quality fish and chips. Very welcoming and excellent service.

Good reputation but had briefly closed as owner retiring- since reopened under new management . Still popular but on our last visit I felt only average fare. Freshly cooked to order with other choices ( salad etc) instead of chips available.

The shop was recommended to me - a year or so ago, A word of warning they accept cash only. I arrived on a Friday night at around 06-10 finally got served at 06-50 the queues were horrendous and had to park some distance from the shop - we are not talking about some busy street but a road that is usually free of cars parking. There is plenty of choice on the menu - the service was good polite and friendly and the fish and chips great. Just leave yourself plenty of time to queue up and do not go there hungry because by the time you leave you would have chewed your fingers off.

Lovely fish and chips. Went to sit in the restaurant with my little boy and he also loved it. Staff friendly and helpful and food was great. Service was brilliant. Really enjoyed and would certainly return 😊😊

Visited yesterday after being recommended by a friend and must say the fish (cod) was really fresh and a good size and the chip excellent, staff was very polite and friendly. Would recommend 100%

Wow! The quality of the fish n chips from here is amazing - I travel 7 miles to get to it but it’s worth it ! Food always piping hot ensures it is still good when I get back home! The staff are always pleasant and friendly and the shop is spotless ! Well done - keep it up and you have my regular custom - thanks 😀

Fish, chips, scraps and curry sauce. Yummy yummy. The nicest fish and chips I've had for ages. Enjoyed every last morsel and didn't get that sickly feeling which you sometimes get with greasy food. Would eat them every day if I could.

We went to see the beautiful flower festival at the local church in Sutterton and whilst in the area thought we would have a bag of chips. When we arrived we noticed there was an eating area at the back. We ended up having one of the best cod and chips we have ever tasted, mushy peas and a large pot of tea. Thoroughly recommend to anyone. They even do specials if they are available on a Friday or Saturday such as Torbay sole or Salmon in a sauce. Very nice friendly staff. Husband was delighted too as we were able to go home and not worry about food and he could watch Chelsea beat Spurs in the FA Cup semi final.

Panache is wrong, but homely panache that flare that comes from having little pots of planted Easter flowers on a table, interspersed with a toy bunny really adds even to what is I suppose our local fish and chip shop.

The nicest in the area I'd say for good fish and chips and for something different the mushy pea fritter is lovvvvvvvvvely!!

Excellent value well cooked fish and chips.Very enjoyable and would recommend to anyone. Food was served fresh and hot.

Always a warm welcome from Peter and his staff. I always have cod chips and beans, which is always excellent. I should not eating fish and chips due to heart problems, but what can you when their are so good and you enjoy them, I just can`t keep away.

Having sampled the local competition, this by far beats them all hands down. Competively priced and the quality of the food whether having the vast selection on offer is what you would expect and always delivered. Pete runs a very tight ship and never drops his own high professional standards and that of his friendly faced team. We are always gutted when they have a holiday break but something to look forward too on their return. Very much worth the 16 mile return journey. Speaks volumes in itself.

Excellent fish and chip take away with seating at the rear for about 16. I had the extra large haddock with chips and mushy peas and my partner had the small cod with chips and mushy peas, tea for two and a bread bap for me came in at just over £15. Very good value.
