Poor service, staff were not friendly and seemed unconvinced, for example we had to ask for soya, wasabi, ginger and plates. The wasabi tasted like it had gone off. Sushi in terms of quality of food was fine but the whole experience was very poor. We used to come often a few years ago but it has definitely lost its charm. Will not be returning.

Vine aquí hace unos años cuando la comida era increíble y un gran servicio, y recomendé este lugar a muchos amigos. Decidí ir de nuevo recientemente un sábado por la noche alrededor de las 6 pm. El restaurante no estaba lleno cuando llegamos cuando acababan de abrir, el personal se veía y sonaba poco entusiasta, finalmente captamos su atención para pedir algo de comida del menú que no estaba en el tren de sushi, nuestra comida ordenada tardó mucho tiempo en llegar. llegamos a pesar de que pudimos verlo allí sentado en la cocina abierta. La calidad de la comida realmente ha disminuido desde antes, el pescado no tenía mucho sabor o sabía tan fresco. El precio ha subido mucho y es bastante caro para lo que es ahora, y el cargo por servicio se agregó automáticamente para un servicio mínimo realmente, no volverá y no lo recomendaré desafortunadamente. Un contraste total con lo que experimenté antes.

Quality Sushi restaurant with top japanese interiors and atmosphere. The food is good, some things better than others. Sushi sets are nice rest is a gamble. It's bit tight inside and if you sit at the table, may end up with waiter bell right under your elbow, that'll cause accidental calls + having to move your table side to side to let people from neighbouring tables pass... better to sit at the bar and see what you pick ...or go to Misato at Leicester Square.

Went here following a training event in london, and it did not disappoint. Menu extensive as is the calming layout of the restaurant. As a sushi fanatic I can safely say I was well catered for here. The staff were brilliant and the general atmosphere very authentic. Had a different feel to some other “chain” sushi restaurants. If you are new to sushi I would consider this place very un-intimidating to try something different! Already planning my next trip back

Visited Sushi Horiba on a Wednesday evening with my girlfriend. There weren’t too many other diners at the time we arrived but the restaurant had a was a really nice vibe. We managed to get one of the booth seats next to the revolving sushi belt which was fun. The service was excellent. We were were well looked after. The sushi was fresh and tasty although I’d recommend ordering a few things or a main off the menu for variety. Prices are reasonable for the location and quality. I’d definitely go back. Maybe next time for some karaoke also!

Very overpriced and quality was disappointing. The quality of the £48 sashimi platter was not really worth it. It was obvious that they used frozen fish and some of them had a slight smell to it. The food on the conveyor belt was too overpriced too- 4 small california rolls for £4.80! However, the atmosphere was nice and quiet.

We went on a Wednesday night. It was extremely quiet. The sushi train didn't look that great. I guess due to the lack of people there wasn't much on offer. It may be more of a lunch place. I wouldn't recommend this place on a week night.

I’ve been coming to sushi Hiroba for quite a while (first time 2011 - we celebrated our anniversary there). In the last year they downsized menu and unfortunately stopped serving my favourite eel sushi in the set menu. Yes, it wasn’t that popular - fair enough. But the presentation of the dishes doesn’t look as nice as it used to. Before they used to service sets in the fancy dragon shape. Also, no attention paid for small details: menu was slippery, glasses weren’t polished, the wasabi had been sitting for a while before being served and was dry, water jug needed polishing as well. I do hope management will pay attention and work towards keeping quality at the highest levels

Great place to eat in a hurry, or not in a hurry too. There is a bar area with the usual sushi and sashimi plates at different price points. There are also tables away from the bar if you want more traditional table service. The standard of food is good as is the selection. Limited mains available however. Always enjoy coming here but haven't been for a few years as no longer work in the area. Not much has changed but that's a positive. I look forward to another visit soon.

We popped in at the end of a family day out. Our kids love sushi and it looked nice from the outside. The menu prices were very reasonable for a central London restaurant and it had an interesting range of food. Not just sushi which was great for my husband who doesn’t eat fish, so thought we’d give it a try. The service was friendly and quick and they were very accommodating to our excitable 6 year old daughter 😊 We loved the carousel style set up for the sushi. It added a real feeling of authenticity. It felt calm and relaxing with lovely chilled background music playing which was just what we needed after a busy day in town. The food was excellent- even down to the miso soup. The rice was well cooked and ingredients were obviously fresh. The kids only had sushi - all of which was tasty and well made. Husband had the Korean bulgogi which he says was excellent and I had chicken Katsu which was delicious. Not overly spicy but with lots of flavour. Portion sizes were just right. We all had plenty of food (although the kids would have eaten their own body-weight in sushi) and even with saki, the bill was less than £100, which feels reasonable for a family of 4 eating out in central London (especially sushi). We’d definitely go there again and highly recommend this restaurant.

I have used this place for years as it has always been a great place to eat however the last visit was a real disappointment. The whole feel was different on arrival with the serving staff being slow and uninformed. The offering on the belt was odd and limited, mostly maki and very little nigiri. I would usually eat 4-5 plates but finished after 2 due the low quality and favour. The rice was just that, rice, no flavour. My wife have teriyaki chicken which was full of sinew and lacked flavour and sauce, not good. I asked if the management had changed and was told both the chef and manager had recently changed, they need th change again or review what they are doing

The place has a sushi train that seems like the sushi just goes around for days with out being changed over. You would probably get better sushi from a grocery store. Everything was dry and not worth while. They had limited selection of choice going around and nothing being added. They then want to charge a 12.5% service free. There was a tone of staff just standing around, the manager seemed to berate them ever chance he could get. We had two empty water glasses just sitting there almost the entire time and only a few other tables. I am sad I used open table to book this before I looked at the place.

A fake Japanese conveyor belt sushi restaurant owned by Korean. You can already catch the sense poor and lazy management when you see foods on conveyor belt. Boring, repetitive and smelly old dishes sits still, come and goes until the restaurant closes. Utterly conventional tasteless food with such small portion but priced ridiculously high. I heard the owner’s part of ilbe community(Korean UKIP site but even worse, they praise rapes) and he treats his employees like his servants. He needs money to maintain his expensive car and flat but invests nothing into his business to improve it. He is also a sociopath, racist and homophobe.

Despite the name of the restaurant both my friend and I decided to not opt for Sushi for our visit and instead we shared a mixed Tempura to start and a seafood Udon, and a salmon and rice for main course. The seafood Udon was very good, the sauce was rich and full of seafood! I have been quite surprised by so many bad reviews for this place as I didn't experience bad service or food. We ate in a hurry as we had a theatre engagment to uphold but we didn't find that the service was cutting fine our time in the restaurant. We didn't take alcohol with our meal, but we still found the billl very agreeable (cheap) compared to what we were expecting.

It used to be one of the best in London for their sushi set rolls. However since November 2018 when they changed their menu, not only they removed the roll sets but also the quality went down and the prices high. It was so bad that we couldn't finish our food. We gave our feedback the manager. To be honest Tesco's sushi tasts better and is fresher.

Thoroughly enjoyed an impromptu meal here last night before heading to the theatre. This is my seventh visit to Sushi Hiroba and the service, food and friendly staff never fail to disappoint. I had booked a table for 6pm but owing to delayed trains, we arrived half an hour late with little over half an hour to order food and eat. It was already busy but the staff made us a priority and within ten minutes of sitting down they had served us our Udon dishes, sides and drinks without giving the impression they had gone out of their way to serve us. My only quibble is that the menu choices are a bit limited.

A nice little restaurant to check out just outside of Holborn tube station. The only thing that let's it down is that the restaurant does not provide enough detail with it's food menu. If you are not familiar with the names of the dishes, you will be further bewildered by what the dish may include. Another thing is that the menu on the website is out of date. There was a Chicken Udon Noodle dish that I was really looking forward to, however was informed that they no longer serve this dish. I was disappointed. I ordered the Beef Bibimbap instead, it was okay, but nothing to write home about. It could do with a lot more beef actually. The waiting staff were very polite and friendly and the food was very well prepared and served expediently. I did not fancy Sushi... I don't have the stomach for it.

The food was generally very good, but both our cooked main dishes were a bit too salty... All the items on the conveyor belt, instead, were fresh and tasty, with an excellent balance of ingredients and flavours! The only two criticisms are that the portions in this place verge on the small side (including the dessert) for the price, and that the menu is not varied enough. The front of the house and the table service were professional, courteous and friendly! All in all, a very good place to enjoy Japanese food.

Kept getting the food wrong. Ordered the roll and instead got a large set plate. Told the waiter that I didn't order that. He took it away and left me waiting for 10 minutes before I got his attention and he said that his manager is trying to decide what to do. Then the manager brought the original plate and told me that we can have that at the price of the roll we ordered. Had to take away the balance and gave it away to a homeless as the food is not worth me using up my calories for the day. The waiter was nice but there are only two waiters serving a restaurant with 75 seatings. Will not go there again if even it was free.

The sushi here is very good even if on a conveyor belt! Lots to choose from and all very tasty. Only problem is that it issued impossible to know which sushi is actually on the belt so just ask. As ever you eat too much and the plates stack up as does the price then. In saying that, would go back.

The service was slow, the food was passable the sushi platter description didn’t describe that you get 4 pieces of the 36 wasted on 2 types of roe and then a further 2 on dry crab meat, or we would have ordered something else! We didn’t get chopstick holders, only got side plates and ginger after asking and the tea green tea was awful and served in giant mugs. Nothing authentically Japanese about this place anymore it has clearly been taken over by someone who just wants to make a quick buck! Such a shame as I used to love this place for its high quality food, brilliant service and authenticity but that was several years ago.

I am no expert on Japanese cuisine, but my spicy chicken udon was lovely. Good selection off the menu, and a couple of veggy sushi plates off the conveyor went down well. Manager that evening was a very nice lady, which made up for, what I guess were, inexperienced waiters. All in all, it did the job, and was a pleasant evening.

Utter disgrace, first they served my dish to a different customer, the customer touched it they took it back and served me the same plate. When I asked the waiter he apologised. They didn't even have the courtesy to cook me a new meal until I asked for a fresh meal. Another meal at our table found bones inside. Totally messed up our orders took them 40 mins and they asked us twice for our order! I think the EHO's need to visit this restaurant and check for hygiene and perhaps teach them about best practices .

There is the worst udon I have ate. And I should say 'come on, it's too late~' when you came out. 一家韩国人开的日料店,海鲜炒乌冬极其难吃,猪排饭还是鸡排饭的肉面衣全是软的,像是放了好多天,大众点评推荐海鲜炒乌冬的那位老哥,你出来我们谈一谈。。。

The food is great and the portions are good. However I am equally disgusted and shocked to be told that the 12.5% service charge is not only COMPULSORY but also goes to the owner and NOT the service staff. The service wasnt bad but it wasnt worth 12.5%, when I rounded my bill down as service had been added, I was told 'You still owe 43pence, service charge is compulsory here' I am actually considering going back in just to complain.

Hired one of the karaoke booths for a hen party evening, and it was so fun! Good choice of English music, good sized room, and also had some nice Korean food. Great service - Thanks very much!!

Et sted med Running Sushi og ala carte, meget god sushi. Vi valgte et bord ved siden af Running Sushi båndet, og der var meget at vælge mellem. Virkelig god kvalitet på sushien, velsmagende og delikat. Der er desuden ala carte retter med kylling etc til dem i selskabet som ikke spiser sushi.

Food was okay I guess, but many items were (accidentally) put on the wrong colour plate. We did not spend enough apparently, so at the till our coats were thrown at us and our change was put down without a word. The manager just left without thank you or goodbye. To forget as soon as possible and never go back!

Ordered 3 things of the menu, Miso soup, 6 maki pieces and the Scallop Volcano 7 pieces from the Californian roll set menu. Got the miso soup and 6 maki pieces right away and they were alright. After I had finished my maki and miso soup I had to wait for about 25 minutes till I got the scallop Volcano pieces and felt like the staff had forgotten about me. The scallop Volcano pieces were served on a small plate that was wrapped with aluminum foil and the pieces were topped with melted cheese. In theory that might sound delicious but that was not the case, the sushi rolls were all soggy, falling apart and the melted cheese did not help with that either. Considering the quality and experience I feel this place is bit overpriced.
