Had the salmon poke bowl and I think that’s the most satisfying portion I’ve ever had in my life! Great balance of salmon and veg.

Ever since I first had the jackfruit roll, I legitimately cannot stop thinking about it. It is constantly on my mind, I even dream about it sometimes. It’s possibly the best sushi I’ve ever had, be warned it will take over your life and the sole purpose to anything you do: your pay check will suddenly be divided by 4.5 to tell you how many rolls your can afford.

Honestly one of the best meals me and my husband have had. Being vegan usually means a couple of options on the menu but here we were truly spoilt for choice - how it should be! We had some vegan maki and tofu roti to share, I had the tofu and mushroom ramen and my husband had the tofu golden Java curry. The flavours were all super fresh and delicious and they had the best chilli oil I’ve ever had. If we lived in Newquay I’d be here weekly. The staff were lovely, a little bit run off their feet so I’m sure they would have appreciated another service to assist, but that goes to show how popular it is. Dog friendly as well which is always a huge plus point so we could bring our baby dog Geo. Thank you ever so much for making dinner number 2 of our honeymoon so perfect.

Really great place just off the hustle and bustle from Newquay centre. I was the only person eating when I visited but there was a nice atmosphere nonetheless. Food was excellent and a great alternative to the standard food options in the surrounding area.

We found this restaurant on Google and checked the reviews. It didn't disappoint. The food was banging, the service was on point. It's not the biggest of places, but by heck, it packs a good punch. Party of 7 of us and the staff managed to accommodate us without bother. Highly recommend for the quality of food, fresh, vibrant, tasty, and authentic.

Found the place in this years` surfer map and was super glad I did. The menu is spot on, tried the sushi, ramen and the sweet spring rolls. Different types of sake and really good beers to go with the food. Attentive, knowledgeable staff, all round good atmosphere and great music, Salmonella Dub one of my alltime favorites.

Such good food for vegans & vegetarians. We had maki rolls, udon noodles, burger and bao buns and everything was delicious! It was very busy as it was a Saturday night and the restaurant is small, so we had to wait for a table, but it was worth the wait. Highly recommend, thankyou!

I had the udon Noodle salad with prawns my partner had pulled pork bao buns. You could tell everything was fresh, and it was so simple and delicious. The seafood was also flavourful and the portions were generous for the price and quality. Left feeling very full and happy.

It was one of the best sushi I have ever eaten in my life and the udon noodles with Japanese chicken and teriyaki sauce was amazing.

We had take away as there were not free tables. Had to wait about 15 minutes but you could have ordered online so it was easy enough. The service was amazing and friendly and the food is one of the best places in Newquay. We paid much more for bad food the night before so this meal was an absolute treat for us!! Very fresh ingredients and very tasty. Will definitely be coming back!!

I’m unfortunately very disappointed by my take out today. We arrived on time to collect our order. After being told to wait outside for a minute because our order is just being packed up, we hovered around for 20 minutes until my partner decided to go in and check. He had to ask 2 members of staff to check whether one of the take away bags that’s been sitting on the side were ours and then we could finally take our order home. We ordered 3 varieties of maki rolls and a chicken burger. The burger was barely room temperature and the chicken tasted shop bought. The sushi rice was incredibly dry and in combination with the nori leaf unchewable. The beef brisket and teriyaki chicken makis did not taste fresh at all. All in all unfortunately a disappointing experience.

I was feeling rouuuugh today. Always crave good Asian comfort food when I’m ill and have struggled to find that since moving to Cornwall. The ordering process was super sleek and easy to use. I was running late because of traffic but I called and the staff were lovely and understanding. The two ladies working were amazingly friendly and kind. The food itself was exactly what I needed. Fresh, hearty, flavoursome. I did add a sprinkling of MSG 🤫 but understand that divides people. So good to know I have a go to for days like this. Vibe of the restaurant looked really warm and relaxed too.

As this was my favorite restaurant in Newquay, I feel compelled to leave this review as feedback for the restaurant. We visited 12/8 as a family of 3 and had an experience verging on bizarre. We had to ask for menus which took a while and when we were given them we were told there was a 30 minute wait for food; which was absolutely fine. What wasn't okay was after waiting some considerable time (without even being offered drinks) we had to stop the waitress to ask if we could order and be told she wasn't sure and she would check if it was okay to order? Eventually, and I mean eventually, she came back and said we could order but only drinks and sushi and couldn't order any mains yet? So hungry we ordered sushi and when this came to the table said that she couldn't take the main order as the kitchen was busy and she had to figure out if there was other orders ahead of ours and would 'come back when it was our turn' - we never saw this member of staff again. What later became apparent was that other tables seated after ours had eaten meals and left before we'd even been able to properly order. A while later a different waitress took away the plates and when told we hadn't ordered mains yet happily took our mains order without question... The food was great, but honestly spoiled by the hour and half exasperating wait. To be honest despite the fact we actively seek out this restaurant every time we're in Newquay I would be reluctant to go back based on our poor experience.

This place saved the day, fresh food with actual flavour. Probably one of the best places to eat in town.

We were really looking forward to trying Sushea. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. Overpriced, chaotic, and cramped 'restaurant'. Staff friendly but that's not enough. Forgot to give menus, forgot half of our order. Gutted.

We had takeaway sushi from here. The staff were good and accommodating. They offered a table outside and recommended we ordered a beer whilst we waited for our food. The quality of the sushi was acceptable, but it it could improve. Overall, it was a positive experience, and we will use again.

Incredible sushi, poke bowls and roti tacos. I had the beef brisket roti taco which was incredible. My girlfriend had the Poke Salmon bowl which was a great size portion. She said very delicious. Fully recommend this place. Staff very friendly too.

We got takeaway sushi and it was horrendous the tuna and salmon tasted like pure cat food and the teriyaki roll was like dog food could not eat it at all and for the price its a joke we couldnt even swallow a roll. Expected a lot more seeming it looked so nice but it was a joke would deffo not eat there again!!

Great vegetarian and vegan options available. And also a great choice of non-alcoholic drinks. The atmosphere is fine nothing special however the prices are extremely high as is generally in Cornwall however the quantity of food for the price is very little.

We eat here every single time we holiday in Newquay. The sushi is the best we've ever eaten. It's small and always busy but it's clear to see why. If you don't like raw fish (like me) there's plenty of cooked options from yakitoti to bao buns to curry. Highly recommend.

Excellent ethical and tasty food

Lovely small restaurant offering some amazing Japanese / Asian inspired dishes. Small indoor and outdoor seating area with an order and takeaway service offered too. Tried the chicken & veg gyōzas & chicken yakitori. Though this may be the only place serving this kind of cuisine in Newquay, they definitely don't take this for granted and I'm certain they'd give my local places back in Manchester a real run for their money! Great food, some nice drinks on the menu, little sparse on soft drinks but otherwise amazing and a definite must try! Will definitely be back in the future!

Amazing place! We were looking for a cosy place to eat out and escape the unfortunate weather - We were greeted with great service, delicious food (I had the seafood ramen and would recommend) - The waiting time was not long at all to be served or for the food to come out - They had a really friendly doggy who greeted us outside the shop and sat beside me out of the way and made me already cosy experience even better! 10/10 would recommend for a nice bite on a rainy day.

A treasure if you like Japanese food. Great sushi at a reasonable price. The restaurant isn't very big, and neither is the garden space out front, so choose your time carefully if you want to dine in. Staff are nice and helpful. Don't miss it! Long may it be successful.

Delicious food. Great atmosphere

Eaten from sushea many times, the food is absolutely amazing and I can't fault anything about it. Complimentary sauce, wasabi, ginger etc. beauty pale ales, my favourite dish is the brisket okonomiyaki. Packed with flavor and the meat texture is perfect. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, always got a good tune playing.

The food was terrible. I had the chicken ramen and the broth tasted like dirty dish water. The Noodles they used were rubbery and tastes like Chinese pack Noodles. Not ramen Noodles you would expect to find in a ramen dish. The the chicken tasted and looked like it was the remnants of the dish water broth they had it soaked in for hrs. Way over priced for what I received and very disappointed!

The staff was friendly and the tables where laid out beautifully, however I order the udon noodles and unfortunately it tasted like soap and dirty dishwater, although the boa buns tasted lovely. During the meal they had a dog which was sat quietly begging for food while I was eating which was a bit uncomfortable and the dog was allowed to roam around the diner and kitchen which I feel is poor hygiene, I also feel the prices are a to high for the quality of food. The restaurant was nice and small and had a chilled out vibe to it which was nice.

The restaurant had great vegan options and a lovely atmosphere, with friendly staff. My friend and I shared the seitan maki, kimchi and both got yakitori with tofu for our mains. The Maki was very different to other sushi I have tried and was very tasty. I really enjoyed the yakitori and would specifically recommend it (it comes with chillies, so it is a bit spicy) . The kimchi was not my favourite but it was still tasty. They had a water refill station which I appreciated. Overall, I would say this restaurant was a great find! The prices were quite expensive

Stumbled across this place on a walk and decided to try as they had lots of vegan options. The food was lovely lots of vegan options some that I've never seen anywhere before. I got the vegan stickless yakitori which was super flavourful, and the teriyaki seitan maki which came with vegan Mayo. The waiter was freindly and super helpful with talking about the vegan options. Only downside was that the dishes were quite expensive other then that it was great!

I am afraid the experience was a low quality one. We had meat and fish making, as well as nigiri and they were all below average.

We dropped in here for lunch to celebrate both finishing our walk from Newquay to Land's End and our wedding anniversary, and we were extremely happy to have done so. Very well put together food at a very reasonable price.

Incredible food, friendly service and lovely atmosphere

I thought I’d try this because it’s one of the only sushi places in Newquay. Scallop Nigiri was very good, the salmon avocado roll that was customise order as they didn’t have it on the menu, unfortunately it was not very good, it was also uniform as there was lack of avocado in some and some were different sizes and we had to pay for the whole roll which is double what you would pay for normally. I hope they take this feedback and improve and I’ll be back one day. Customer service was great time, the wait was a bit long for just scallop nigiri and avocado and salmon maki. And the Wasabi was off from last year as it said on the package and it came out brown.

Walking around Newquay and all you can smell is oil frying, when all you want to eat is something healthy on a hot day. Sushea delivered on some great food that is really healthy! Fresh vegetables that still have a crunch is perfect. We eat here everytime we visit Newquay. Beautiful food and great service. What more could you want?

The food here is absolutely delicious. So much flavour. I had the teriyaki udon with tempeh and it was delightful. Lovely service and atmosphere too with good music! There was lots to choose from on the menu which is always great for a veggie like me!

We've had takeaway and eaten in a few times over the last year or so, and everytime the food is amazing. I swear it gets better every visit. Everything is so fresh and delicious, the staff are all so lovely, and when eating in the atmosphere is so nice. 10/10 would recommend!

Nothing to do with sushi. All sushi coming from the fridge and it's literally cold and same quality as a cheap market sushi (I've got better sushi at tesco) As a sushi lover and sushi master I have tried the sushi in thousand different places around the world and this one is so far on of the worst. Service wasn't too bad I came for food not for service, so overall the experience was really poor. There was 5 of us and we all had same feelings. Sashimi they made its not sashimi it is a random slice of salmon with the skin...

Loved the flavors, the service and the ambience.. it's a must visit when in Newquay or other parts of cornwall as well.. even my 3 year old toddler loved the food and played with the staff. A place where I'll always come back to whenever I am around this part of the world

My husband and I had lunch at Sushea today. We usually get the poke bowls (which are excellent) but we fancied something different today. I had Chicken Udon noodles and he had Chicken Ramen. We are so glad we decided to try something different. They were both very tasty, beautifully presented and excellent value for money. The bowls were full! We also had our usual Octopus balls which are always amazing. Everything had so much flavour. Shea (the owner) was very friendly and spent time with us, chatting about his experiences during his recent trip to Japan, researching and experiencing the Japanese food and culture. He clearly has a passion for what he creates. It certainly shows in his presentation and ingredients he uses to create wonderful dishes. Cannot wait to come back (won't be long!!). Wow! This place was amazing. Heard stories about Sushea from a friend and was in the area for work. Great atmosphere, staff were friendly and fantastic food.

Excellent food, the nicest sushi I have ever had and the gyozas were perfect. A lovely setting, we sat outside and people watched 😊 The meal was only let down by waitress spilling soy sauce over my friend, obviously an accident but could have been avoided if more care was taken when clearing plates.

Coming from London, we were a bit shocked about the price to food quality. Not sure if we went on a bad day or if it’s normally like this. I’m not sure what was going on with their meals. The chicken karage is not karage but katsu. It was also bland and dry. The chicken yakitori had no flavours of yakitori. Also had to send it back to be reheated as it arrived cold. The gyoza was the only saving grace. Really confused food

When ordering I asked for 3 bowls of noodles and only one came, as it turned out their was still enough food to go round and I hadn't paid for the food that didn't come out to us. The food we were given was very nice and we would return.

The food and the service were exceptional. The udon noodles were just finger licking good.

It's hard to come across good sushi in Cornwall- they've got a really great variety of dishes, very tasty and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself is quite tiny but takeout is an option and the beach isn't far away. Gluten free options were clearly marked and staff were good at describing dishes (I'm not too keen on spice). Veggie options also looked good and it's one of the few places I've found really nice beef nigiri.

We enjoyed a lovely light lunch.

The Udon was too sweet, not authenthic Japanese food. Poor service and management.
