Total rip off. Over a fiver for an ice cream and a coke.

Excellent home made cakes and good coffee. Do not let the cheap looking frontage put you off going in. With plates and cups not cardboard would elevate to first class food.

Ok I guess I am trying to be as fair as possible here. The staff were friendly enough and I can't fault them. However, I guess what's needed here is some competition in the area. So a small over priced milkshake and a paper cup tea made with probably the cheapest tea bags possible at £8 is not really value for money. Perhaps the owners don't want to hear it, but, if I was to give any advice to improve my critique, I would say to buy some decent tea bags, it's still offers a massive profit margin but would probably have a better customer response. As everything looks better over a nice cup of tea.

We visited on Saturday and bought chips and drinks, that same night all 5 of us became unwell and were sick! The food we had had was the only food we had ate, it looked great and the service was great but unfortunately we were all poorly as a result.

Went for coffee, left with nothing due to absolutely disgusting manner of the owner, the grumpy old man. Time to retire I think.

Popped in here to buy some water whilst using the public toilet block behind the business but walked out! The wait, staff attitude and cleanliness of this business was a disgrace. If you look at ‘Spittal Pavilion Motorhome & Camper Van Overnight parking - No caravans or tents’ listing and the Fun Centre, these are all the same location and all share similar reviews predominantly the rudeness of the staff. If you don’t like the public or hospitality industry, don’t do it!

Dirty cafe and arcade. Man and woman hideously rude, swearing at volume and people with children were walking out so they didn't have to hear such appalling language. Avoid this place, it's an embarrassing dump.

Stood in the queue to be served. The woman behind the counter was extremely rude (didn't have time for making the milkshakes advertised) and was rude to my child who wanted to get a lolly. Safe to say we took our money elsewhere and went to Marshal's cafe in Berwick where we felt like our custom was welcome.

horrible lady serving the icecreams. we had spent the day at spittal, my family of 6, 3of who are disabled, spent a fortune in the cafe and the arcades. we had a taxi booked to pick us up at 3pm but it never arrived, by this time my battery had died on my phone, my young son who is disabled was crying to get home. I had went in and asked the lady if she could make a quick call to the taxi company, to which i was told bluntly.."i cant do it, im too busy" turned her back. i said to the younger girl working there we are stranded, she just shrugged her shoulders. Thank god the young guy in the arcade helped us out. Will never be back, horrible people, run down cafe and arcade. littered with rubbish and rat traps out the back, stinks, smells like chips and dogs dirt. Terrible atmosphere and service.

What a lovely location at the beach. Obviously no competing cafes nearby, except for ice-cream vans. Will give cafe a miss next time, really uncaring owners, poor quality overall. Ice cream vendors do appreciate custom more.

Food was awful, wouldn't go back, £14 for a fish and chips and a kids chicken nugget and chips, the fish looked like it had been microwaved or something, and the chicken nuggets looked severely undercooked, food was tasteless and the chips were soggy, even adding salt and vinegar couldn't flavour up this food. won't return to be honest. The place was dead and hardly any customers in, seemed to have went downhill since I came a few years ago...

Lovely views, good hot drinks - sympathy for the older lady serving on her own who clearly didn't want to be there and obviously was feeling under pressure which probably explained the attitude issue I experienced and the completely undrinkable, synthetic 'milkshake' which I left - to be fair, she offered a refund which I didn't take..... Shame, as I have had nice ones there before but will never order another there.

Dire. Ordered 3 ice creams and 2 coffees at a total of £16.20, but was told I had to pay for the coffee separately. However when I tried to do this, they said that as the coffee came to less than £5 they wouldn’t accept my card. They let me pay £12 for the ice cream though, and when I tried to reason with them, they were really dismissive and rude. So we had to go without our drinks, despite spending £12 on ice cream. The 2 female staff members looked really embarrassed and tried to help us get our order, but the man and woman were having none of it. I should have told them to stick the whole order, but my daughter, who is mentally disabled, was looking forward to her ice cream. Also, while the young girl was preparing our ice creams, the owner stood and watched her like a Hawk, as if he didn’t trust her. It made me feel uncomfortable so I can only imagine how she must have felt. I asked if there was another coffee shop nearby, and was told no, only to find out when we carried on along the prom, that there is another, round the corner. Terrible people, very rude, no customer skills whatsoever. Will never use them again, will just bring our own next time.

Food bar only open on the far-left (covid?), Anyhow, got drinks with fish and chips. Don't expect it to be like your fave local chippy! but it's very nice all the same. Even if we asked for mushy peas and somehow got garden peas. Which was odd. Still, enjoyed the munch on the beach here.

Went for food as a family of 8. Lots of staff not overly busy considering it was 1pm on a Sunday. 3 mixed grill. 1 plate of under cooked chips, 3 plates of over cooked me at and 2 plates without onion rings and all without sausage. No refunds since we had started eating. You brought everyone’s meal at separate time. First 2 had finished before the last 3 people received their meals. 1 Sunday roast and an extra couple of Yorkies and a plate for a picky eater. No extra plate and charged for 2 Sunday roast. No paninis on the Sunday menu. No bother we’ll have lasagna. No you won’t we’ve got none. Ok I’ll have a chicken burger. Ok but something unexpected on the bun. Not on menu. Children bolly looked edible 2 year old lapped it up. Was it worth £160 ? Did I mention we had no cutlery till the last person recieved their meal. 30 mins after the first 2 had finished when we asked for some they brought it in its droves. At one point I think we had 30 folks on the table. Don’t ask about the inedible chicken or the over salted shoe leather that they were passing off as gammon. Staffs attitude- basically who give a toss. I’m not eating it

Absolutely appalling! But I partly blame our stupidity for not seeing the warning signs and continuing to order at this ‘restaurant’, when everything pointed towards it being a poor experience. Even the lady at the (gorgeous) B&B we were staying at was sending us warning signals. When asked if we had booked somewhere to eat, she looked surprised when we said the Queens Head’ and politely said, ‘well the good thing about the Queens Head is that if there is nothing you like on the menu, they will always rustle you up some sausage and chips’. (Warning sign 1!) We had booked a table here during our short stay in Berwick, based on the website promise of ‘quality’ food and a fine dining experience. When we arrived the waitress did not seem interested, was surprised we had a booking and never even asked our name! She then pointed to the (only) table for 2 in the room, with a chair almost sat on top of a huge fire hydrant and said ‘will that do?’ (warning sign 2!) We should have taken the opportunity at this point to run, but stupidly stayed. The table we sat at had a small laminated piece of paper with photos of ‘sharing nibble plates’ for £2.50 slotted between the salt and pepper pot and immediately screamed ‘cheap food’ and the rest of the menu too should have been a red flag as the daytime snacks at the front, was mostly dirty fries and nachos. ( warning sign 3!) The waitress knowledge of the menu was non-existent and unhelpful when asking questions. When checking what style of the chicken curry was, ( eg mild, hot, jalfrezi, korma?) we were told ‘it’s just chicken!’ And when asking was there any side dishes served with the chicken breast, we were told ‘vegetables’. ‘what vegetables?’ we asked and were abruptly told with a confused shrug, ‘ they are just vegetables!’ (Warning sign 4!) The carrot and coriander soup was probably the best dish we ordered, but the Salmon and Dill Fish cake starter that arrived was an obviously cheap frozen fish cake, deep fried within an inch of its life and had a grey[?] fish less middle! The Vegetable Curry was bland and served so hot it was almost boiling on the plate and a side stack of dried up white rice. The Chicken Breast was cooked ok, but was served on potato stacks that were slightly raw. Most of the food served screamed ‘reheated’. To twist the knife of injustice, this place charges astronomical prices. £10.95 for the cheap fish cake starter! £23.95 for the chicken and £17.95 for the curry were outrageous for such awful quality food. We did not stay for dessert. Our bill came to nearly £70 for 2 courses and 2 drinks and that was the biggest insult. Not one waitress checked if any of our food courses were ok (and on me leaving half of the main course untouched), abruptly said, ‘have you finished’ ? and took our plates. Don’t believe the website boasting a top quality experience and give this place a wide berth.
