Great food, cooked in an open kitchen, always tastes nice and fresh, its my favourite Chinese takeaway, does the very best fu yung, the only thing not giving it 5 stars is its a little lacking in selection, only a little bit though.

Amazing chicken & char sui curry chips.this is our favourite chinese .been using this place 25 years .never been disappointed here 10/10 from.us .

I called in for a family takeaway for 6 people the order was completed in 15 mins, nice to see the chefs cooking fresh food in front of you and it tasted 😋 really good. Would definitely recommend

It’s Wednesday and it says it open and it’s not waste of time

Not bad food and you can see them cooking in shop, but unfortunately the chips are always a letdown, especially the salt and pepper chips. The decor is a little past it's time, however it is in good keeping from a food and hygiene point of view. I do feel they could up their game on quality when comparing to other Chinese takeaways within a reasonable radius of there location however overall not a bad place for food

food was ok, what i like about this placevis you can actually watch them cooking your food, however the seatimg area and deco needs a touch of paint

We order every week never had any problems food is always hot and delicious, until last week when we received the wrong order but not to worry these things happen and ate it anyway. When we ordered this week they remembered us even tho we didn't complain and said your order will be at a reduced price which was very much appreciated but when it was delivered there was no charge . So I would like to say thank you super chef and keep up the good work

This takeaway has been by favourite for many years. However, after the change of management a year ago, both the food quality and service at the counter are bad enough preventing me use them anymore.

Absolutely awful. The taste was disgusting. The quality was extremely poor. Never ever again. I only went here because my usual one just down the road was constantly engaged and I had been trying for 20 minutes so I thought I would give it a try and I really wish I did not. The food quality is awful the chips are run of the mill frozen chips not them nice crispy chunky chips you get from the Chinese usually and the order was over £20 and did not even get any free prawn crackers. Never again!

Best Chinese take away you'll find in the area, everything cooked infront of you, family ran business of 25 years. Lovely people and food is just amazing, never ever had a bad meal from here. Beautiful 👌🏻

The family that run the business are lovely and make you feel welcome however on the food agenda .. I got sweet and sour chicken in batteryl with fried rice ,beef chowmein, 1portion of chips and a carton of curry which came to £16.30 which i think is expensive fair enough the food is hot but it lacks flavour . I will go back in the future everyone deserves a chance and just because my experience was bad other people might have a good experience. Hope you understand

First time we have ordered from this takeaway last night food was delicious best we have ever had from any Chinese and we have tried many .We live in washington but thought we'd give this a try as birtley is just up the road so pleased we did as the whole order was amazing thank you ,we'll definitely be back.

Food arrived on time and was very hot. The food is of average quality, about the same as lotus leaf. The best you can expect from a local take away chinese. Would order again, and the service was pleasant

Bought chilli, garlic curry with king prawn. Very little veg not nice at all. You get 4 spring rolls the size of party sausages so will cost you £5 for 8..surely not value for money. Crispy duck portion not even enough for one. Quality was good but for money you'd expect alot more.

Less than 1!!!! Tried twice always late!!! They lye on the phone and say it’s on it’s way!! Pretend they can’t understand and it’s always two hours late!! Disgusting won’t be trying a third time 🤬🤬 you have one job!!!!

Superchef is our favourite take out, Chinese is just never as nice from anywhere else. The Chilli Salt chicken is a favourite and I love that you can see it being cooked in front of you.

Superchef claim to deliver in Birtley, I have just moved to northside on the side of the Bowes Incline which is Birtley but they refuse to deliver. when i spoke to their driver he couldn't even explain why apart from saying it was Springwell and left it to the women to explain the rest: Driver: spineless Owners: clueless

Ordered at 6.30pm for a treat tea with my 5 year old - 1.5 hour wait 2 hours of waiting still no food Called them to be advised it would be at least another 30mins No apology No manners No food Won’t use again!!

Ordered for first time, but did not turn up. Called them and they said they could not find my address, didn't take my number for some reason even when I offered it very poor service

Love their Chinese, always get lemon chicken and it is always top notch, partner loves his food too reasonably priced

Ordered food it took an hour to arrive maybe longer, also they'd brought the wrong food that I asked for. I got king prawn chow mein with beef chow mein instead of what I asked for which was chicken and beef!! Curry isn't nice either. Will not be ordering from here ever again !!

The best curry sauce in town by far !

My favourite Chinese takeaway. You can watch the chef cook the food because the kitchen is open plan which gives you confidence in the food. Not many takeaways allow you to see that. The staff are friendly and food tastes great.

Worst chinese ive ever had! We ordered here because our normal take away " park lane" was closed. Anyways the chowmein was tasteless The chips were dry inside like they had been re-heated And the prawn crackers tasted stale. Worst take away ive ever had will not be going back

I only really like chicken satay and this one was not that good.the peppers and onions were,i suppose al dente .generous portion ,enough for another day but don't know when that may be.back to the man in the market place.

Tried superchef on a recommendation from a friend. We had salt and pepper wings for starters which where ok, but the main of house special chow mein was poor; the meal was dry as were the consistency of the meat and overall had no flavour.

Been ordering Chinese from Superchef since it opened the quality is second to none,try the chicken Kubo you won't regret ordering from this Chinese...

Me and my partner go to super chef once a week and cannot find anything bad to say .staff are all friendly and helpful.you can see all food cooked fresh as you wait .they have excellent delivery .clean premises .they must be good as every time I've been in there's been canny few people in and phone orders never stop which must tell you it's good or why would people go back .

Had a beef curry and chicken dish from this takeaway,probably the worst takeaway meal I've had.The beef was so under cooked and chewy and chicken was like rubber,very tasteless,would defiantly avoid this establishment !!

Had a takeaway recently from this chinese and found one of the meals very nice and the other one a chicken chow mein lacking in chicken.The service is nice and friendly with the meals cooked in open view of the customers.I tried to get a menu but none were available -strange.Anyway there is the large board to choose from but ordering ahead maybe a problem if you cant get a menu.We shall return as the chicken and mushroom dish was excallent.

This is one of the dearer chineses in Birtley/chesterlestreet but the best by far, it's also the only one with 5 stars for food hygiene that's I've seen in the area and has an open kitchen where you can watch your meal being cooked.

Recently moved away from birtley but whenever I fancy a Chinese takeaway I always still go here, never been let down and never had w bad meal yet,well priced and the curry is the best I've tasted
