Sunny's Restaurant in Dundee City

We had a home delivery for 30 people food was delivered with equipment to keep food hot. Empty dishes were collected by Sunny's.Food was absolutely delicious and a huge hit with our family and friends calzone pizza also amazing.This is the second time we have done this and would most definitely do it again. 😋 Yum

Getting expensive for a carry out but excellent food

me and my girlfriend frequent costomers tonite put a order in waited over two hours still no order phoned sunnys it was left in the kitchen shocking service i had family up from england and told her how good sunnys was what a big disappoitment so ended up cancel the order and bought from somewhere else i hope somebody from sunnys gets intouch with me to explain why this happend simply not good enough i await there reply

Fantastic friendly welcoming service with a great menu selection. Food was so fresh and tasty, also piping hot. Prices very reasonable also. Highly recommend and will return soon. Lovely meal had by all.

Went here gor daughter birthday to try it out. Had prawns and they were not cooked. The meal of my daughter was far to hot must been old meat . As it was over spiced. They do say if you eat meat from a Indians don't eat as the meat could been sitting. So that night spewed everywhere on toilet all night. Mentioned to the boss he blocked me. So if im not good enough customer what do people say customers are always right. Well let say I wasn't off the toilet. As the king prawn sea water and prawn was like under cooker. Avoid.... at all costs.. place is freezing take your jacket.

Went for a friend's birthday meal there was 13 of us, staff were excellent super friendly. Food come out in decent time all piping hot. Sunny come out and gave the birthday girl a drink on the house also. Food was unreal, so so good! Highly recommend a visit. Naan bread was also fresh made and massive the best I've ever had.

Have had food numerous times from Sunny's. Friends were at caravan site in Monifieth so we met them and suggested takeaway for dinner. Had to he a delivery as none of us had a car with us. Order made. Now this wasn't a small order. Almost £60 worth of food. They advised it would be 1-1.5 hours. After 1.5 hours had passed we called to he told it was out with the driver. Knowing it is around 15 minutes to get from restaurant to us and order was already with driver we waited. Another 30 minutes passed so we called back to be told order was just leaving the restaurant now. 2 hours have passed since we ordered. They advised they were mistaken on the earlier call and that they had actually 2 orders for the caravan park. I see this as highly unlikely. If there were 2 orders would you not send both at the same time with the driver. Especially when the wait for l deliveries was 1-1.5hours. Actually wish I had read reviews first as this seems to be an ongoing issue for several years deliveries not being a priority. Cancelled our order only for the phone to be hung up. Had to call back as had paid by card over the phone to ensure refunded. Got the train into Dundee and had dinner in under an hour. Not only lost a delivery customer but a regular customer now. Will also be letting everyone I know, know too. Absolutely appalling service.

Tlsunnys used to be a gr8 place to eat BUT NOT ANYMORE chicken parokas very very dry and over cooked if this is what the kitchen now offers I suggest macd's is looking for a cook. Won't be bk, money for nothing.

Best kebab in Dundee by far. Highly recommend the king kebab with baba sauce.

Dined in and out of sunnys and lived up to its great food until the last twice we have had bhuna was not a bhuna and garlic chicken tikka was bland and dry asked for garlic nan got a plain nan very dissapointed wont be going back

Had another fabulous meal tonight at Sunnys for our granddaughters birthday. Service was excellent and food was delicious as always. If you haven't been, you really need to go and try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Only been here twice but both times have been outstanding. Amazing food and customer service amazing. Couldn’t have done anymore for us on both our visits. Would highly recommend.

Our go-to restaurant for takeaways and sit-down meals. Had a great sit-in meal with friends last Sunday. Service was superb, and the food, as usual, was amazing. Our friends loved it.

Sunny's is our favourite restaurant in Dundee. The food is amazing and the staff cannot do enough to accomodate you.

My first Indian curry in 10 years and the best I've had ever

First time visiting and won't be the last! Food was lovely and great portion sizes, we had to bring some home as we couldn't finish it all. Staff were polite, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Found the restaurant slightly on the cool side and the music was a little too loud but that wouldn't put us off going back. 15 year old fussy teenager was also impressed so they must be doing something right :)

If you want a proper buffet go to taza and it’s cheaper! this place is a joke. Also if your child is over 10 years old they get charged adult prices.worst buffet I’ve ever had, won’t be back, we left after 25 mins!

I know Sunny's can be very busy so I ordered a collection from Dan. He was very friendly while my girlfriend and I were waiting for our food. He epitomises quality customer service in the hospitality sector. Very tasty food and good value for money too. Will definitely be ordering again.

We went on a Wed night foe a buffet They had a great selection. Of food to choose from and the food really was lovely. Stewart was on very nice and served us out lovely gin which was fab. He was very present and nice to talk to nothing was a problem whe. We needed anything great chap I will definitely go back again

I was recommended Sunnys so decided to give it a try. Ordered food for delivery at 1815. Called at 1945 as our delivery had not arrived. Told that the kitchen was busy but it was just leaving. I called again at 2030 as food had still not arrived (I live 10mins away). After a discussion I was offered 25% off my next order! It was only after I informed them that I would not be ordering again that they agreed to give me a refund to my card payment but I was not allowed to accept the delivery and had to.send the driver back with the food. They refused to call him.🤦🏻‍♀️ The food eventually arrived at 2040 with the message, 'apologies from the kitchen'. Will definitely NOT be ordering from here again. 😤

We had Buffet last Saturday for My Daughter’s Engagement Party , We had well over 100 people, The buffet was Amazing , Everyone who attended that night was overwhelmed with The Buffet , Brilliant reviews from both sides of Family and Many will be visiting For A meal . The Best in Dundee. Thank you

Have had a few meals inside and one from just eat. Unfortunately going through just eat is more expensive as they raise the prices above sunnys menus

Arrived early, was made to feel very welcome. We were given time to look at the menu and I didn't feel rushed. Ordered Vegetable Pakora and Gobi Pakora to start with. Gobi was amazing, cauliflower in a light batter , both came with Baba sauce . Chicken Pasanda, Chicken Chasni , a portion of rice, chips and peswari naan. 10/10 for it all . Chicken melted in the mouth. My chasni was an infusion of flavours in the mouth Pasanda was delicious, coconut and almonds flavoring it. Highly recommended

Our favourite local Indian Restaurant, We normally order a carry out, but decided to visit this time. Friendly welcome from staff, order taken by the luvly Stewart (he worked here previously and has now returned) we ordered our wine, a mixed starter to share, tandoori mixed grill. Sunnys Special curry, with a garlic/cheese naan and a chapati. All our food was freshly made, well presented and delicious. Stewart was chatty and very attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, it was a luvly evening out. Highly recommend ordering a carry out or visiting :) :)

Only been for take aways reccomended thru mother inlaw always busy and we have always collected had to wait longer than expected and in past tried to call orders in and never got thru' however cannot fault the food. The currys are always well cooked and the meat has veen melt in the mouth .

Absolutely brilliant vege / chicken bhuna's. Very generous portions too. The menu isn't as big as some Indian restaurants but Sunny's is so well with a visit. It was quiet on the night we went so not a lot of atmosphere but the food more than made up for it. Good service from our very friendly waiter. We'll be back !

Had lovely meal last night great service food great as usual .we had stopped going as it was feeling a bit run down ( inside and out ,) but we were pleased to see improvement ,will be back, hood service though

Fabulous meal deal from a gifted Itison. However, we were so impressed with the amazing food, the service, everything actually, we will definitely be back. The menu was a bit more expensive than your average meal out, but the food was just outstanding. If you love this kind of food, it is worth every penny, and you're in for a treat. Superb!

Amazing place. We had a very tasty family meal for my husband Khaled's birthday and also my son Jamie Lumley's birthday. Food was delicious and the service was great. Definitely 5 stars highly recommended.

Order never arrived. Marked as delivered when it wasn’t. Had to contact Deliveroo for a refund which could take up to a week after 3 hours of waiting had passed. No answer from the restaurant when multiple attempts were made to contact them. Appalling service. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone based on this experience. Avoid like the plague.

Ordered on Sunday and so wanted the meal to be fab but , ordered 3 kebabs and all where dried out round the edges ,meal was cold and little to no salad , chicken pakoras again cold..rely disappointed heard such good things about the food here 😔

Food is good - delivery times an absolute nightmare!!!!! Nearly 3 hours and this happens time and time again. Sadly I won’t be using sunnys again. This type of service has went on for years with zero improvements

Amazing food and great buffet on a Wednesday night

My sister and i visited here last night. It was all you can eat buffet night, just a small selecrion of choices but every single one of them was delicious. Once we had stuffed ourselves with the mains we got stuck in to the dessert stand. Which were beautiful tasty cakes. The staff were very busy but were friendly and helpful and took time to speak to us! Will definately be back.

Foods always good, takeaway service & time is awful. Stated ½hr, arrived on time expecting the usual few min wait only to be informed that the kitchen has said another 20 min before my food would be ready....this turned into 30 mins by time it eventually arrived, despite the restaurant only having x2 customers in. 2 grievances here, firstly if kitchens unable to produce food in time frame stated online when placing order then say so and provide customer an accurate time to collect so not wasting anyones time. Secondly, my order clearly wasn't prepared prior to my arrival despite it being paid for at point of purchase (therefore no risk to restaurant of non-collection and or cost to business) with no reason given as to why this was the case by front of house staff who subsequently told another customer on the phone they didn't know how to solve an issue with their delivery.......confidence inspiring indeed. My custom will now be taken elsewhere which is a pity.

Dont bother to order for delivery, its been 3h now and no food, no one is answering the phones. Never again

Amazing food, amazing customer service. Highly recommend the channa Dhaal YOU must try the Kajar ka Halva (sweet dish) it's hands down the best I've ever tasted....and I've tasted alot. Perfect end with a cup of desi chai. Thank you Sunny :)

Absolutely awful food hardly a buffet as no food there very disappointing. Staff didn't really know what they were doing. Would not recommend to anyone.

Hopeless food. No staff. Don't know what the customer has ordered. No veg starters. Limited options. On website it says Buffet. Called reception before booking & confirmed Buffet. But nothing such there. Try not to visit

Never going back here, was me and my partners first time here, the food was cold, and we could see that the buffet trays were just heated by candles, I went home and maybe an hour to an hour later I felt sick as did my partner I would rate this a 0 of I could and I would not recommend anyone go to the buffet here

Went here after a very busy day sightseeing in Dundee and Arbroath. Also wanted to celebrate our friends special birthday. We didn't have a booking however Mohammed our waiter was very welcoming, friendly and charming. The meal was absolutely delicious, hot and spicy (if you wish) and we didn't feel rushed like you get in some restaurants. Mohammed also surprised our friend with a lovely cake🍰 at the end of our meal. Very special touch considering we didn't even have a booking. Fantastic restaurant and amazing staff 👍👍

If I could give lower than one star I would, 3 hours to wait on a meal then to receive a text message to say itll be another 30 minutes, called them and got absolutely no where, in fact they blamed just eat, pretty sure just eat dont actually prepare the meals, will NEVER order from here again. Absolutely diabolical service!

Was told card had been declined so tried the wife's that was declined also.... but they worked fine next door... CASH SCAMMERS there is only one person going to ruin your business and its you....

Misleading advert. They added compulsory service charge (10%) without stating it in advance (as per my understanding the restaurant is obligated to state it upfront). We have never been informed, checked their FB post and website and there is no information about service charge.

Don't get a delivery from here because you wait a long time for food was ment to be here at 7.30 and I still waiting on it now it's 20:10 very poor service ....just got my food at 20.23 kebab is all dried up and cold I won't be getting food from here again 🤮

First time visiting Scotland. looking up places to eat Sunny's popped up with good reviews. Food was absolutely superb, I love my food spicy and was pleased that the food was not only extra spicy as requested but tasted amazing too! Lets forget the main course for a second, the Keema Rice is probably the best I've ever had, if not for anything else I'd definitely go back just for that. They have their own sauce called 'Baba's Sauce' that they have been making for many years, its awesome and rather unique, not too sure how to describe it if I'm honest but goes well with most starters. Has abit of a kick to it. Service was phenomenal. Cameron looked after us, he was very attentive and friendly. Got some tips on what to visit in Dundee too which was much appreciated. Haven't experienced a great level of service like this in a long time. I would definitely go back again and would highly recommend it. Just don't forget to order Keema Rice!!

First day in Dundee and I’ve got to say it was the best restaurant in Dundee for me. Food was amazing! We ordered a variety. The keema rice, garlic Nan, lamb chops, chicken wings & North Indian Garlic chicken was unbelievably amazing! Cheesecake was just 😋😋 lovely! And besides the food Cameron gave us the best customer experience. The service was 10/10. He was very attentive, down to earth and super kind. I will definitely go back to Sunnys again

Just had the most fantastic meal here. Dont need the buffet if you order wisely as the portions are more than enough! The service is first class as well and very quick to respond to any requests. Best restaurant I've dined in in years!

Lovely meal, modern decor, attentive staff. I had cauliflower (Gobi) pakora starter. Lamb Madras with keema rice main and a glass of mango lassi. Would recommend the place and I would go again. We were a big group (24) and they coped admirably.

Sunny is a great place to sit with a lot of room around the tables, the food is excellent with really good staff that care about your experience while there, the place is exceptionally well cleaned, I definitely recommend this Indian restaurant a must try.
