Sunny Sands Chip Shop in Flintshire

We stayed at a caravan park around the corner. We came on Friday night. I was served by a new girl. She was very polite and was being trained by the two other girls behind the counter. All the food was lovely and fresh. My food was made up and kept warm while I was waiting for the rest of my order to be cooked. Everything was correct and tasty. We will be returning. I did have food envy when we were eating. I'm definitely having the Chinese chicken curry rice and chips next time I visit.

Absolutely rank. Hardly any fish just thick greasy soggy batter. Did order a lightly battered so god knows what went wrong. Chips were tasteless and anemic. Then when I handed the money to pay. He asked if the girl had checked not once but 3 times. Wtf. Safe to say won’t b goin in there again.

Really good food, amazing quality. Called in for tea, it was all lovely and freshly cooked. Reasonably priced. Will definitely come back.

Called in to pick up a take out order. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent portion size, tasted great. I will definitely be back. Already recommended it to other people. Brilliant

Visited after a few drinks in the nearby pub. Lots of choices on the menu. We went for a chip batch each and a spam fritter. Food was cooked well and was piping hot. Will be visiting again when up this way

We are regulars, go every year when it opens, went not that long ago was really nice!! But went today chips were soggy and cold after being left because the new staff member thought she had enough chips for the order (which she didn’t) normally never complain but I’ve noticed a massive down fall since they’ve hired the new staff which is a shame :(.

Called in for fish and chips for two. The batter on the fish was soggy even though we didn't have salt and vinegar on it and we could peel it off the fish ? The chips had not been "tossed" enough in the fryer as many had white sides where they had not been separated.

Great tasting chips . We had chips from here on our way into the haven site . The portions were large and such good value . The chips were the best I have had for a long time . 2 large chops and curry sauce £6.95 . Will return

Stayed on Haven site and decided to try here after passing on the way to the site. I ordered Beef madras which was excellent, the beef was amazing. Husband had a Donner Kebab which was huge and he said it was one of the best he has had. Daughter had cod bites which she enjoyed too. Prices reasonable and staff friendly. Highly recommended

We were staying in the nearby Haven site and just fancied a proper chippy tea. The on site chippy seemed expensive and unappealing. A quick Google bought me to this place it's about 30 seconds away from the main entrance to Haven. The staff was friendly, the food cooked to order so as fresh as can be and a fab choice of dishes. We had two fish boxes, a kids meal and some battered black pudding (out of curiosity). All of it delicious and still hot as can be once I arrived back at our caravan. All the family devoured our chippy tea with gusto. Great value for money with set meals for every budget. Highly recommended.

I read the reviews and thought that I’d give it a go. I had the fish box meal (with gravy for the chips after the fish was finished). The meal was freshly cooked and it was very very good and really reasonable as well - in comparison Largs and Oban were miles more expensive and no where near as good. Service was helpful and the food arrived promptly. I’m writing this having finished my meal feeling replete and content. Excellent chippy.

Best chippy in area. We stay at haven a couple of times a year and discovered this golden nugget by accident. Staff are great food cooked to order and piping hot still by time I get back to caravan with it it’s ready to eat. I’ll be back in a few weeks we now tend to do chippy tea on arrival day so we don’t need to stress about shopping thanks to find these lovely staff and food

My hubby and I always enjoy the food here . We are regulars and we have never been disappointed.Although it does get busy we feel it well worth the wait.Large fish box delicious and we love the curry. We have always found the staff very helpful and polite, and hardworking. Thank you to all the staff at Sunny Sands Chip Shop.

During the week we were at the haven camp we got food from there and never had a bad meal staff very friendly and helpful always had a good laugh with them. During our time there we had chilli con carne with rice and chips,. Spring rolls, Double cheese burger and chips, chicken fillet bites and chips, chicken korma and chips beef madras chips and rice dinner meat and chips I think the only meal we didn’t have was pizzas which we all wanted to try as well I don’t think they know how to make a bad meal brilliant highly recommended Hope to be back soon The chippy is on the main road to haven camp on the right side

I watched a member of staff scream at a colleague about a pot of sauce while she was serving me ..I was applaud at her behaviour and really felt for the lady trying to serve me ..she was so apologtic... I definitely won't return ..staff need training in simple respect

Been here twice now, will go again before going home. The chips are the best we have had in north wales,the prices are great. The cod had no skin(batter) or bones,which is rare were we come from in essex and bloody lovely.The homemade milk shakes are lovely.The food in gerenal is all really great. The ladies and the man who works there are really friendly and had conversations about our dogs with one of the ladies,was lovely to have a decent conversation. Thank you to you all. Food cooked to order and was delicious. They offer two types of curry sauce, sweet or spicy. We had the spicy and it was lovely. There is plenty of free parking just across the road and the shop is a short walk from the beach. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, suggesting places we should visit next and where we could park for free.

We went here whilst staying at presthaven, food was all cooked freshly to order so there was a little wait but it was worth it. Lovely food!

Like most popular places you have to queue, but the service is super slick, friendly and fish and chips are good. Even left a small tip as so impressed!

Went to sunny sands chip shop for evening meal ordered four meals three had chips. When we opened them they were LARGE portions I suggest you only go if you have a BIG appetite or you have someone who will finish it off for you

Went to this chippy on first night while staying at Greenacres whilst the food was ok the service was terrible I left caravan at 5o'clock and got back turned 6o'clock there was one serving and one cooking To give you some idea the night after we got a takeaway from Prestatyn I phoned at 5-30 and we were eating at 6-30. If a local came they got served right away no matter how long the queue.

You'd get your food faster if you got a spear and went hunting yourself. Don't worry. They have all day and will serve locals first. Atleast the food isn't as bad as there attitudes.

Went here due to my car breaking down and being so close to our caravan park.Everything we ordered was cooked fresh and the prices were great too for a family of 4.The only down side to this place is that it closes early but this may have been due to it being slightly out of season.If you are staying at the Haven site close by and dont mind the 10 minute walk then this will save you money but give you a very good meal at great pricesAlso caters for allergens and has several signs displayed asking to make staff aware on arrival

Having a chilling day out just sitting at Prestatyn Beach, when it came to tea time, mrs didn't want to go to one of the chippies in the town centre so searched interweb and found this chippy not far awaySuperb tasty fish, frsh chips, mrs had scampi and she said that was good too (I tried a bit and it was good) and son had Doner meat and chips and he enjoyed it too. Fish isn't cheap anywhere these days so when the bill came to £ 14 for all three, I was quite happy. Thoroughly recomend

Have visited on many occasions since the current proprietors took it over a few years ago. Consistently quality food time and time again, and without the usual excessive prices linked to holiday camp takeaways. You do have to wait for some products as food cooked to order, but trust me well worth the wait, if you don't believe try it for yourself
