Sunlight in St. Helens

Food was awful, balti tasted like it was out of a jar, no flavor to it, consistency was gloopy, more huge chunks of onion than there was lamb. I mistakenly didn't order sauce for masala,(meal for 2, I didn't know that's what the added charge for the sauce was, I thought it was a pot of extra sauce, not the sauce for the meal) the chicken looked and tasted like it had been rinsed under water. Bahjis, very dry and hard. Food went in the bin. Won't be ordering again.

Food was lovely however split in the curry container so lost half the sauce 🤦‍♂️. Was really tasty though

First time I’ve ordered from here and it came within 40 mins on a Saturday evening. It was lovely and hot, really tasty and reasonably priced. The chicken balti Karahi had just the right amount of heat for me as I find a rogan Josh not spicy enough but a madras too spicy. This sat somewhere in between and my husband said his Nepalese dish was gorgeous. Peshwari naan was delicious. Great job. Thank you.

Food was lovely however we didn't receive the naan breads we ordered.

Food was great, ready in time and informed when it was ready to be collected. I was also asked to clarify mistakes id put in the order to make sure i got what i really wanted. Excellent service and food

food was nice but some of it was missing. The restaurant sorted it out quickly. can't fault them.

What a shame wife could have done a lot better with a jar .

The food was very tasty, however the fusion biryani had minimal meat in. Was disappointed with that aspect of it. Defo not worth value unless putting more meat in it.

This food was one of the blandest indians I've had. ordered souther Indian garlic tikka chicken. Had virtually no spice or flavour. most went straight into teh bin as it was also cold.

Mixed tandoori had no king prawns and the rest was full of fat and dry. Chips and popadoms were greasy Normally good food but we was very disappointed.

ordered the naga bad boy kebab and it was lovely. not quite as hot as I imagined it to be but one of the best kebabs I've had since moving to St Helens

Sick to death of ordering meals from here and not getting what I've ordered and paid for!!! 30 years a customer but I will never go back again and that is final 🤬

Very nice food only criticism not much meat in the kebab just overloaded with onions so was a bit disappointing .

Food was delicious, just a shame it was cold.

100% top quality food. My only issue is that their very hot currys are actually very mild. If your a chilli head this probarly isn't for you. If you like mild currys then this is the place for you!

Meat samosa marked with a V and veg samosa marked with a M. Either way none of them had much taste. Just bland. When we figured out which Kabab was which as again not marked on paper, i wouldn't rave over them. The naan breads are good though untill you get to the soggy part under the kabab meat so you can't pick it up. Saying all that, i have had worse from around St Helens.

Was recommended this place by a friend, was notified within 10 mins that some items weren’t in stock and a dearer alternative was provided so no complaints. Food arrived slightly early (5 mins) which was a bonus for us. One item was missing, phoned back and the restaurant had the item here back within 10 mins and was super apologetic. Food was hot, tasty and customer service was great. We will deffo be ordering again and I would have no problem recommending to others !

Chips where great scampi undercooked and mushy tandoori chicken was spilled all over the bag other than that no issues

Early not complaining we was hungry. Ordered the chicken tikka masala and pea pilau rice with garlic naan. Loved them all. Tikka masala different than what I’ve had before but very nice and tasty, chicken properly done. Pea pilau rice lovely, naan not too chewy or hard, just right. Chicken tikka masala also got approval from 2 year old who had a taste

Nicest Indian meal I’ve ever had, chicken was so tender it melted in our mouths..

Stale poppudoms, chewy and inedible. Piece of green plastic found in the pilau rice, like a cut off of a sauce bottle ! Not very happy with this order, and won’t be ordering from there again. £45 takeaway spoiled.

I ordered the Balti Garlic Chilli which is meant to have fresh chillies in it. There wasn’t even one in the meal. Do you think your costumers won’t notice? I would have liked the curry that I ordered and not the one that your chef felt like making.

not as spicy as I was hoping but very flavourful and I'll definitely be ordering from here again. side note - the salad came in a separate bag so it wasn't warm, it's the small things!

Really nice. I picked up but it was ready in 15mins. Will be going again , food was great.

The Nepalese tarkari description says that it has red and green peppers in it. The majority of the curry was huge chunks of onion and three big pieces if potato. There was one cube of red pepper, a small amount of sweetcorn and peas thrown in. You do know that there are more vegetables than just onion and potatoes? I have been ordering from Sunlight for a while now and this curry was probably the worst I've had. Extremely disappointed.

First order from here and it’ll be our last. Food wasn’t great. Very greasy and soggy. Only positive thing was it was delivered on time.

Literally the only Indian I will order from. Never had a bad experience here. Food is always super delicious and customer service is amazing. Delivery driver forgot to give me my can of a coke but it was all resolved with a quick call to the restaurant who called the driver to ask him to drop it off. This place goes the extra mile to ensure the customer is happy. The saag aloo was soo delicious :) thank you for a lovely meal!!

Best takeout I've had for a long time! We love our Indian food and thought we'd give this place a try after having a disappointing meal from a different shop earlier in the week. Absolutely spot on! Fast delivery, piping hot food & really tasty. Plenty of meat in the curries and the saag paneer was a highlight for me. Can't wait to try more the menu :-)

The onion bhaji were like bricks. I could have used them to play cricket. This is the third time of ordering that they have been so bad. As much as I love the service and curry is good, they don't do aloo chat so I won't be ordering again.

Another incredible takeaway. Food, as always was fresh and delicious. The delivery is always on time and the food piping hot. This is our “go to” takeaway now and would highly recommend.

The Nepalese tarkari was supposed to be fairly hot. It was as spicy as a bhuna, very disappointed. Please send salad and sauce with each starter, rather than expecting us to share, there's not enough. Otherwise all is good 👍

Food was ok. A bit bland for Indian food but still was ok. Super fast delivery.

We use this restaurant frequently but tonight was the last. The jalfrezi was far too hot and had 3-4 pieces of chicken, absolute joke. The biryani was just as bad with small half pieces and really poor and the rice was hard and very greasy. Overall the food was terrible.
