We were there after a family funeral, and the service from beginning to end was first class!

Stopped by as car had broken down. Welcomed by a lovely bar lady. But that's as nice as it got. Snotty rude lady came in, presumably the owner or "landlady" moaning because our 2 year old had took beer mats off a table. ( She's 2 and no one was sat at these tables) the way she spoke to my wife was disgusting tbh.. If your not a local dont bother, good old stuck up rainford people as expected, also moaning cos our little girl was sat on the stairs near the toilets causing no harm whatsoever. Paid with card at the bar and it didn't go through. Only then to be chased I would say, outside to say I need to pay, "as if I'm just going to run off when my car is on your car park and my wife and baby are sat in the pub" PATHETIC ..( I was on a phone call at this point.) Please do not waste your time going in here. People need to learn manners it costs nothing. Go elsewhere in rainford or the nicer EAGLE AND CHILD in BILLINGE. Absolutely ridiculous horrible atmosphere. Never again!!!!!!

Nice little pub absolutely jam packed with bikers on a memorial ride for one of their brothers great atmosphere service second to none.

A well looked after bowling green. A sun trap of a beer garden. Usual beers and spirits.

Always a good atmosphere. Saturday entertainment. Good local pub. Centre of the village. Not really a foody pub but can get cothams pies and sausage rolls if you want. Dog friendly pub. The small resident dog is called Molly.

We visited on Saturday 19th November. Absolutely loved it. Back to being a traditional pub.

Very disappointing. When the only "beers" on the bar are Doombar & Green King IPA you know not too have great expectations but when servered both are poor substitutes for vinegar one has to assume the regulars don't appreciate beer and the landlord doesn't care less. 1 star cos there's not a minus rating.

Nice pub,plenty of flowers in the garden area. Watching teams playing bowls.

Worst customer service from the owner - very rude as the kids wanted a sandwich bearing in mind we had spent over £70 over the bar on drinks and we bought and a pie (as that’s all they sold) - wouldn’t recommend unless your a local to the area as they look after them only- unbelievable

Called in for quick drink on a very hot day. Felt so welcomed by friendly staff and locals even the little dog came over and said hello.

I ordered the house burger. Without lettuce and gerkhin. The burger come plain even though was advertised on the menu with onion, tomato and coleslaw. I told the waitress she took it away and said it now doesn't come with these items even tho they Are advertised on the menu. Surely the chef could have given me some coleslaw and tomato. Even the waitress said it was embarrassing. The burger was also dry and overcooked. The burger was also like a piece of cardboard

Excellent locals pub very well hosted with good beer and great bowling green. Also great entertainment from time to time. Highly recommended 👌

Was nice to go in to pub and get seat and be able to have drink etc staff made us feel very welcome nice little old pub but don't do meals 🙂.

Only went to the pub to play bowls in the evening so didn't eat or drink. Rainford is a lovely place and this pub looked very nice inside and a friend of mine tried the cask ale which he enjoyed. Would like to go back.

Been there twice in recent weeks, staff management serve regular customers before Anyone irrelevant on how long you have been waiting. Not good service

Friendly atmosphere and lovely layout.

This is very cosy clean and friendly pub with great staff and excellent service. Went on Saturday night and kareoke entertainment was great and not intrusive. Not too packed and enjoyed listening to all the songs. Went there after Cottage Indian restaurant and was great for finishing evening off.

Local pub in Rainford. Nothing special. Does sell coffee. We only go because it is adjacent to our lawn bowling green
