Sunflowers in Merthyr Tydfil

Excellent food had fish chips and mushy peas all very nice too much for me to finish too. Two cups of decent tea as well all for £12. I’m not local but just popped in as it was lunchtime glad I did , place seemed busy but staff were all friendly and on top of things. I’ve noticed that the Tripadvisor description notes this place as closed? I’ve tried adding a new place so if it works I’ll do the review again. Anyway thank you . Great food and hope to visit again sometime

Sausages absolute horrendous taste like gravel, chips were like slugs curry 10/10 Won’t be returning

Quick service, tasty food. Pleasant staff. Good price @ just over £5 for 2 sausages, an egg & chiips with Bread/butter & a sof drink. Roomy in there, clean too.

we had fish and chips, and the fish was cold and the chips old, at the time i was having treatment for bowel cancer, and this was supposed to be a welcomed treat, and others left there food too, the person serving wasn't very helpful or polite, if you do chose to come here, I hope you have better food and is treated better than we were,

The Sunflowers is an ideal location to eat.... Situated right by a railway station, & has parking facilities closeby....... Always look forward to calling in to this venue after a walk around the market, for a nice cuppa & some really tasty fish and chips before setting off home! The staff always have a ready smile for you, & the service is both fast and friendly with good prices..... Well worth a visit & you will make many return visits!

Ordered an omlette as i am wheat intolerant however when it arrived it was very burnt and i was unable to eat it.

Every time we come here we get bad stomachs and sickness. The price on 2 cans is a couple of quid and the chips and kebab meat is awful not that I eat it but my lads do. You tend to see a lot of babies and little ones here and wheelchairs. There's no where they can go only spoons and that's not much better. This place needs sprucing up its so dirty I don't know where the health inspectors are but they need to check this place out

food was alright not overly keen just a overly priced peters pie with a few chips i just needed some thing quick and easy after being to the medical centre.

Will never visit here again. After having a couple of chips off the plate my partner seen a long black curly hair poking out from under his food he called over a manager who dug his fingers in pulled it out and shouted loudly "Sir, this is your hair". It clearly wasn't however the manager kept shouting it everytime we tried to explain that it was under the food therfore couldn't be ours. They refused us fresh food. Plently of nicer, cleaner chip shops near by will use them in future.

Amazing tasting fish and chips, & excellent quick service....always with a smile and a chat. Quite reasonably priced. Can be eaten as a sit down meal, or as a takeaway

I would advise people not to go to sunflowers fish & chip shop my boyfriend found a hair on his burger and the waitress tried saying we put our own hair on it definitely won't be going back.

Really central restaurant and Takeaway serving delicious fish and chips that are very reasonably priced....You are always guaranteed a lovely friendly smile from the very helpful staff. The portions are more than adequate and delicious. The Sunflower is very central to the Merthyr Railway station & is well worth a visit!

Had a really tasty meal at the Sunflowers restaurant in Merthyr Tydil....Centrally located quite close to car parking facilities.....Lovely tasty fish & chips! Very reasonably priced with friendly staff

Call in on a regular basis always have a salad roll and mug of milky coffee really cheap £2.10 staff are so friendly and nice soon as I go through the door they say roll and coffee .

Called in here today and ordered faggots and peas but they didn't have any so we opted for the chicken curry and chips which I must say was the worst curry my sister in law and I had ever eaten ,it was tasteless coloured water with shreds of bland chicken in it and pale chips , The meal was terrible . And sorry to say but we wouldn't go back there again. This café really needs to change the recipe and add something to the curry which is really just coloured water .

A good selection of english and turkish food. Value for money. A Cafe situated in the town. Food is served very quickly, typical fish shop food.

If your shopping and hungry I'd definatly recommend calling in here it's the only place in town during the day Ill go "chicken curry rice and chips" are lovely

Always eat at Sunflowers when in town as they do a great dish with kebab meat chips and salad I find pitta bread too hard to swallow so being able to replace it with chips is a real bonus the service is lovely

The Sunflowers is a lovely little restaurant/café that I like to visit every time I'm in town. Its got a great varied menu & their French fries are to die for! I sometimes have fish and chips which are amazing (So tasty) and have to say their curried chicken is also delicious, and its not expensive at all. You always get a smile and a welcome from the really friendly staff, & its location is ideal if you are travelling by bus, train or car, as its so centrally situated in Merthyr Tydfil town.....I would really miss this little eatery, if ever it closed down, as sadly so many places in town have!....A sign of the times unfortunately!!

It's my favourite choice of cafe when in Merthyr i Love the chicken curry 1/2 and 1/2It's real chip shop chips and not bad value
