good came 2:30 hours after ordered and was freezing. Then dealt with an awful young woman and man on the phone when trying to explain the fustration!! Do not recommend this has now happened 2 times

Chips were freezing and hard crispy beef was soggy in pre packaged sauce not effort ie onion garlic ginger etc abd whatever is in the mini meat rolls sent (even though a meat roll was ordered) was disgusting cheap mixed mince meat

Ordered food 5.19pm food came 6.45pm stone cold . Rang shop they couldn’t have cared less. Absolutely shocking service. Wish I’d gone elsewhere.

Ordered food at 7:20pm said it would be here by 8:16pm (bizarre) delivery arrived at 9:25pm freezing & a miserable portion of crackers. After being a loyal customer to sunflower time to find a new local, really miss Dennis's standards. Also after calling at 10 to 9 was subject to attitude that would rival an anxty teen.

Should have read these reviews before ordering. Not only did our takeaway not arrive. But after 2 hours we contacted them, they said food was on way!! We live 10 minutes max away from the shop. 25 minutes later still wasn’t there. The verbal abuse my husband received on the phone was shocking. So we have had to leave our dogs on bonfire night to get our money back. Needless to say we won’t be ordering from here again.

If there is anybody out there who rates this place (I highly doubt it, but I'm being polite) you best fill your boots while you still can, because this car crash of a take away is now living on borrowed time since the China Inn has opened a few doors away. The food was lovely for years under the original Lee family, but last couple of years I wouldn't eat their stuff for free.

I really like the house special chow mein there is lots of meat and the is the indescribable flavor in the chow mein the mini spring rolls are fried to perfection

Sweet n sour chicken is divine (although there doesn't seem to be pork balls around Pelton or Chester le Street☹️), spicy noodles are my son's favourite. Overall, very good and not too expensive.

Not sure what was in the beef curry but it was not beef that’s for sure waste of money and I’ll never order again

Second time we've ordered from here. There won't be a third. First time was pretty good... Delivery was on time, food hot and cooked nice. So we thought let's try it again! Firstly the price was higher than expected, although the delivery arrived within the timeframe, the wrong order arrived. 1 hour later and still waiting for the correct order to arrive 😔

I really like their chicken chow main it has a very special feeling. their salt and paper is also very nice my son loves it!

Specified several times that we wanted vegetable spring rolls and still the order arrived with spring rolls that were entirely beansprouts and chunks of chicken; called up to make them aware of this and all they had to say was that they 'got confused', no suggested alternative to the dish or anything like that - money wasted entirely. This is in addition to a previous time a friend of mine had ordered from the same place, in which we were given the entirely wrong order; ours was given to another customer. The staff just suggested that we swap the meals over despite both of us having potentially opened or eaten some of the food - the disregard for basic food hygiene is genuinely bizarre. Given that this took place during a pandemic, it's just a blatant disregard for customer wellbeing - I understand places like this must get plenty of orders and may have to work to tight schedules, but at the very least basic care should be taken to make sure people are actually getting the food they pay for.

Friendly staff & nice food, good portions

I have used this take away for many years without complaint however tonight I rang to explain there where no king prawns on the special fried rice and basically after the receptionist asked the chef while I was on the phone I was called a liar .Not the response I expected at all. I have no problem identifying a king prawn when I see one /there simply wasn’t any. Really disappointed as I will not be using the Sunflower again. I don’t care about the money they saved by not putting the king prawns on it’s the being called a liar . Not good. I await a response before I decide what steps to take .

The takeaway has new owners. The menu and some of the food has changed but we think it is still very good Chinese food. Only negative thing we have found the curry sauce is not the same as it used to be and is not that nice.

Favourite Chinese in the area. Great prices and brilliant food. Staff are always so helpful

Iv gone here for nearly 15 years and Iv never been disappointed the food is amazing and always hot never need to put it in the microwave also the staff are friendly we get on with them well

I have ripped up the menu and bined it, the food was awful the sauce was gelatinous and the meat content negligible, I have been a customer of the Sunflower for many years and have noticed a slow decline in quality, such a shame.

My partner and I chose the chicken chow mein. Apart from not being very hot when we opened it (we live a three minute walk away ), all the meat was the brown meat...not the usual breast meat. It was very salty too. The worst thing of all was finding a CHICKEN FOOT in it. It made me physicality sick. I will never go there again or recommend it to anyone. Totally disgusting !!!

First time we had food from as we got told off loads of people it was really nice so gave it ago and the food had no taste at all apart from salt nothing worse than very salty food

Ordered Chinese tonight which I normally love, best curry I normally have. However tonight my Chinese was so salty that I couldn't even eat it and I'm not one to complain, so I rang and was really nice to be basically called a liar, then the delivery driver then turns up and calls me a liar aswell even though I offered to pay again and offered him delivery again at the door. I've worked in my friends Chinese takeaway and would have dealt with the matter so much better. Food has turned up just as salty, will not be returning.

I don't like Chinese food however the beef mushrooms and onions in gravy and liver and onions are delicious. Again staff are lovely. My brother had been to China and was given China tea from them so we gave some to this Chinese. They couldn't have been more thankful and offered a free takeaway. My dad goes here for the liver and onions now and again and although we are not regulars they still know him (and his late wife) And we get a Chinese Callander from them each year.
