Visited the Sunday Carvery on many occasions, and always loved it. We were bitterly disappointed on our visit on 28th November. We were shown to our table, had to get up and search for a member of staff after half an hour to order drinks, which then took ages to arrive. We had asked for a table for 5 people including my elderly Mother, and were crammed on a table for 4, right up against the next table. There were empty plates stacked up on nearby tables, which were not cleared for the duration we were there. The staff seemed clueless, which surprised me, as on previous visits, they were so professional and attentive. The Carvery itself was reasonably good to be fair, but when I mentioned the above issues when I paid the bill, the young man couldn’t care less. I paid the inclusive service charge reluctantly. We will not be returning soon

I took 8 members of my family to the Grosvenors Arms on Sunday after Christmas after a lovely walk around Errdig . I had booked a table in the Carvery which had been part of the very successful upgrading of this hostelry. First impression were very good. Delightful foyer, warm and friendly welcome and we were led to our table which was nicely positioned at one end of the restaurant's Palm Court Carvery . The restaurant was busy but plenty of well mannered and friendly staff took our drinks order and also starters for the adults. The children aged between 12 to 14 then lined up at the Carvery counter and were attended too beautifully. Then the adults followed and I can only say the food looked very tempting, and proved to be as good as it looked. Excellent flavour, the turkey melted in your mouth, the beef just melted and the pork too was very tasty. Vegetables were beautifully cooked and piping hot and wouldn't even attempt to describe the wonderful Yorkshire Puddings, the children's eyes were like saucers at the size !!! All in all we decided that it was the best Carvery we have have eaten at both for food, staff and ambiance. Excellent. What a gem the management have created here, long may it remain so. Well done Grosvenors Arms . At last a wonderful venue for a family Sunday lunch.

Had a lovely family 14 piece banquet from saffron. Hot, delicious and plentiful. Delivery was on time, although somewhat confusing as the order completed before the food arrived. I did call the restaurant who confirmed it was on its way. The only criticism I have is the sides...they are on the cheap side (catering gravy) and warm coleslaw. Could also do with being a bit bigger, so wouldn't order extra next time, for the price, hence the 4 star review.

Excellent service and a good menu. We went two nights running and on the first night had good old fish-n-chips, and the fish was superb. My dessert was panna cotta but not quite as we know it. Nevertheless I had it again on the second night. On the second night I had slow-cooked pork belly - a dish which every chef prepares differently. This one had no crackling on top which it sometimes does, but was none the worse for that. A nice range of wine by the glass, although my favourite Malbec was a bit pricey. Some very good whiskies available.
